They are amazing here! The coffee is constantly 4.5 stars but the service and atmosphere made it a 5 star experience! I got a cortado and it was delicious! The pricing is pretty average for any coffee shop. I do love Olde Town Arvada and it's the BEST coffee shop I've been to there! It's also super aesthetic and a great place to stop by if you are walking Olde Town! The only thing I wish was that they were open later (although I wish that about almost all coffee shops). I wanted to use a gift card but I wasn't sure how much was on it and if it would be expired or not. It was probably 2 years old. They weren't able to scan it because of their "new system" I knew it wouldn't have more then $5 so I wasn't that worried about it. I told them that and they just comped me $5! So so nice! Today is my first visit to Hunter Bay Coffee here in Arvada. I thought I'd pop in for coffee and lunch because that is what my life is made of and I live about and a 10 minute walk from here. I'm one of those pain-in-the-rear costumer,Im always running around asking for things that are not on the menu which is often met with blank stares and eye rolls but here I was met with a friendly smile and a Can Do attitude! The barista sandwich Queen I met today went out of her way to make me a sandwich with no bread. The sandwich was on point. Roast beef for the win. I am a happy camper for sure with the sandwich and the coffee but most of all the wonderful community vibe all over this place. I thank you for your beautiful costumer service and your willingness to meet my often crazy needs. I will be coming back and not just for the convenient location on Olde Wadsworth and Grandview. What a great spot! Very friendly people, unique flavors, and an open decorated space. I was there with my friend and 2 babies and there were people with laptops and it seemed to accommodate everyone which I think says a lot about the space and noise level. Big windows and on the corner in olde town. I had the brown sugar bourbon flavor added to my cappuccino and it was delicious! Love this place! Baristas are amazing! The wifee is hooked on their lavender lattes and the little one loves their cookies. The coffee here was great the reason only 4 stars is they only had 2 sizes of coffee small and tiny. They had light and med roast that day. I had the med and one of the best roasts I have had. Nothing was posted so I don't know for sure but think she said it was "back country" before I left. Another disappointment was that on a Sunday with several people stoping by they had just a few left over old muffins and scones and by a few I mean a muffin a scone and a couple slices of some sort of cake. These were all brought in and not home made. No one bought these plastic wrapped items while we were their so lost income for the shop but I'm sure they make enough on their coffee. Maybe they are so new they are not sure how to order for the coffee shop portion of the roasting store. We will be back to buy beans and if your in the area stop in. Hunter Bay is such a great addition to Olde Town. The coffee is so flavorful and never tastes burnt or too strong. It's not trying too hard, it's just a really good, quality cup of coffee. The service has always been really nice and not pretentious like you may find at other coffee shops in the Denver area. It feels like a neighborhood spot, which is exactly what it should feel like in a place like this. I recently switched to only drinking decaf and I will say that their decaf espresso is good, and I don't miss the caffeine when I'm at Hunter Bay. Awesome little roastery in Olde Town. To be honest, I've never seen the process of how coffee was made from start to finish, so it was very cool to see them roasting the beans from bags before brewing. I had a simple mocha. Not overly sweet, and incredibly smooth. Definitely the best cup of coffee I've ever had. It was a bit loud, though that's to be expected with such heavy machinery. Not necessarily a complaint, just a note. The staff wasn't the most friendly. They weren't rude or anything, but it doesn't hurt to smile at your customers. Either way, I'll have to stop by to try some of their other beverages. read more

I couldn't patronize this place enough during my time in Arvada. I grabbed a pour over for me and a latte for my wife each morning, and it was perfect every time. You can tell there is great pride in the finished product, and that it starts with excellent, responsibly-sourced coffee. They roast their beans on-site and have technique down. The atmosphere is on the energetic side; the aesthetics bright, warm, and woody. Stopped by for some coffee and they knew we were going to stay a little while, but gave us cups "to-Go" which made me a little upset because I wanted to take a picture of the latte art. Needless to say, I didn't snap a picture because it was so darn ugly lol and i think it was supposed to be a leaf. This little self-roasting coffee shop is somewhere between a Starbucks and a college student hangout. It serves some of the best dacaf coffee I've had, smooth and tasty. I didn't expect to pay more to have almond milk in place of cow milk, but that won't stop me from returning. The staff was friendly and efficient. Their women's bathroom could use a bit of repair and sprucing up. Glad to see that they also had non-gender bathrooms. read more

I LOVE this place! It's my favorite coffee shop. All the drinks I've had are great, breakfast sandwiches too, good ambiance and once in a while they have cool live music. But the best is definitely the staff, always aim to please, super friendly and will go out of their way. The golden milk tea is my usual go to but one day they ran out of turmeric for it. This has become my favorite coffee shop in the whole Denver area, and I have been to a lot of coffee shops in my 10+ years of living in Denver proper and the suburbs. When I look for a good coffee shop, the number one requirement is obviously the coffee. There are a lot of trendy, unique coffee shops out there that offer everything else except good coffee. I have had a lot of the different beverages here and they have all been great. My favorite is the vanilla latte, and mocha and for non-coffee the hot chocolate and chai tea. Second, is the atmosphere. I work from home a couple days a week but sometimes find myself distracted at home. I like having a space where I can take my laptop and grind out some work. This place offers a few high top tables, large tables for bigger groups, and even outside seating although I have not taken advantage of that yet with it being so cold. You usually have to get here pretty early during the week to get a spot, I have noticed it starts filling up around 9-9:30. Third, is a bonus because not all really great coffee shops offer food but I love having the option. Especially first thing in the morning. Hunter Bay has avocado toast that I can only try to duplicate at home and just cant get it on that level of amazing. Their breakfast sandwich is also super yummy. Instead of just egg and cheese on a bagel, you get to choose your bread, cheese, and add other toppings if you choose. The egg is a frittata instead of a microwaved scrambled egg like you find at a lot of other places. So good! The service is always friendly for it being so early in the morning. I came here on a recommendation of a friend who's friends of the owner's. From what I understand, they opened a week ago, so they are running pretty lean on just the essentials (the coffee bar, and the roasting/beans). I was very pleased that I came in when I did to see how the operation started. The back half of the shop is currently taken up by bags and bags of beans at various stages of the roasting process. As they continue on, I imagine that this place will evolve as they figure out what does and doesn't work for them. For now, the things they are doing work for them. The coffee they roast and has had a very smooth flavor, which you don't get a often. I spoke with a couple of them employees there (Beau was really enthusiastic about being there). It's currently situated in the middle of all time Olde Town Arvada, so if you find yourself in the area, give this place a shot. I love recommending these places as an alternative a Starbucks because it serves good locally roasted coffee, and they have have a nice enthusiastic staff who are happy to be there. read more

Good and bad stuff. Lots of turnover. They only pay their staff $9/hr based on an ad in indeed.com. Most coffee shops are $11 or $12. Friendly, helpful staff though. They used to be lame and act like they would rather be elsewhere but lots of new peeps who are great. Very well pulled espresso. Great on site roasted beans. They blast the a/c so way too cold for me. Worse than Starbucks. They blast the music a lot too. Why do coffee shops and restaurants assume I like their music choice and so crank it. My favorite local shop and roaster! I'm just getting into coffee and the baristas are knowledgeable, friendly, and patient. In the past I would come by, grab a sandwich and maybe some milk based drink, but I took for granted the variety of beans, roasts, and care that goes into the coffee here. I'm still learning, but Hunter Bay helped me appreciate coffee in the same way that most in Colorado appreciate a craft brew, wine, or spirit. I had a hair appointment in Olde Town Arvada one Saturday morning and was early so I did some walking around. Olde Town has changed so much since I was in high school and I absolutely love the vibe! I was wandering around and looking for a coffee shop, I ended up finding this cute little shop on the corner and went in, I branched out from my normal just regular cup of Joe and got (I can't quite remember, unfortunately) some kind of white chocolate with rose latte, omg it was so delicious!
