Had a very bad experience on Saturday 10/3/2020. First time visiting the coffee shop (I am a big coffee drinker so I was very excited). Upon ordering our drink(s), we were informed that there is a mandatory 15% fee on our charge - to help them during this COVID-19 times. Ok, I get it. I usually tip more then 15%, especially now because we are lucky enough to still have our jobs and I understand businesses are struggling right now. What I DIDN'T appreciate is the cashier being rude to me and telling me I have no choice on the fee. Well dude, I do have a choice. I have the choice to not shop at this establishment; so that is what we did. Cancelled the order and walked out. I believe in tipping but I do not believe in making it an obligation. I don't get out this way much anymore, but when I do, I enjoy an Americano or latte here, sans the music. Coffee is above average but their pricing is a bit high. I just got charged over $14 for 12oz of whole bean coffee. I thought something was off so I checked their website when I got home...it was listed for $10.95. Something is fishy... Edit: The owner reached out and let me know they charge more in store because it's fresh roasted in store. I get the price hike and I totally get the desire for fresh roasted beans, but $14 is still a bit high IMO. Good space though, they have tables and wifi to do work if that's your thing.
