My sister and I came back recently for dinner and the service was nice. We got a table with a better lighting. This time I ordered a steak sandwich and it was a very big portion. I couldn't finish it, so I had leftovers for the next day. My sister ordered the surf and turf and her steak was quite good, however, her lobster was very fishy in spite of the use of lemon. She couldn't finish the surf part. I believe there is supposed to be valet parking. This is quite convenient to the subway.

Food was okay. Not the best I've had but fair. The steak took forever to cook and was only medium but still came out cold, really tough, too chewy, and too unseasoned. The baked clams were too small and doughy. Overall though, some dishes were still ok and decent price so I would come again for restaurant week - UNTIL I always presented with the check with autogratutity 20% on party of 2. The service was barely adequate, long seating time even though plenty of tables were available and finally seated us at a table near the door even though other tables deeper in were available. The food took wayyy too long to arrive 20minutes per course and the check was brought to us without asking in the middle of our dessert that just arrived. Not professional. When asked about the autogratutity, they said it was noted in the menu but nowhere did it say it was mandatory tip for ALL regardless of party size or that it would be a whopping 20%. Service was not the best beginning or end, didn't feel comfy (so cramped) or welcoming. Would not come back again. Definitely ok food but felt very misled price wise and unwelcoming atitutude here.

Hunter's steakhouse is one of the older Bay Ridge staples, in a small cluster of steakhouses out near-ish the water. We had their $39.00 Restaurant Week Dinner Menu as well as some their regular dishes. Their regular dishes were quite creative, almost fusion. Take a look at my photos! Their dry age isn't too funky, which is bad if you like a strong flavor. That's the main reason for the 4 stars. I believe that people who seek out dry age steaks look for that flavor. The service was great.

The burger was both huge and delicious. The fries were hand cut and crispy (which seems to be something a lot of places can't quite manage). Not to mention that it was a happy hour special if you're seated at the bar as were the calamari and wings.

My friends and I decided to try to place for restaurant week. It's a four course meal which includes, appetizer, salad, entree and dessert with tea or coffee for $39 which is not bad at all. I was the only one who picked salmon while the other picked steak. There is a wait in between each meal, so be aware. Like more then 12 min wait. My friends were starving !!! Dinner started at 6pm and we didn't leave until 8:15pm ish.

I haven't had a steak in a while so we decided to go here as it is in my favorite neighborhood in Brooklyn and got many good reviews. The place has a very nice ambiance and the service was good. The food was excellent but wow those prices. I don't blame the restaurant at all because they still need to make a buck. We will come back again and if you are in the area and want steak GO!

With our busy schedules this year we decided to do thanksgiving day out...hunters had a good deal so we thought why not? So glad we did! Wonderful service, delicious food and zero clean up! And still had leftovers for sandwiches the next day. Definitely coming back for steaks soon.

Loved the food. The people are so welcoming. The salmon I had was amazing. They have live bangs and they are very entertaining. This is a spot to go to. Eg they had the band playing 60s music 1 day and other events the next. This is great. Also try not to drive. Hard to find parking around so might need to walk a few blocks. Walk or cab it.

As we make our way through each steakhouse in our area(lucky us they are all reknown for their food), we had finally made it to this place to try out. The moment you step inside is like being in an old steakhouse complete with pictures of families, New York, trinkets here and there, etc. There is something reminiscent and homey about being in a place like this that is not easily achieved. We started with red wine to set ourselves up for steak and appetizers. The calamari was very tender and fried well, only lacked a little salt, but this was made up for in the sauce. The portion size for this appetizer was huge and could easily feed at least 4 people. Steak. My wife went with a sirloin steak that was surprisingly good. It was more of the doorstopper shape, rather than your flat out piece. The ribeye I had was the winner by far thought. The compound butter rounded all of the tender charred meaty flavor. This steak felt more complete and was served at a perfect medium. The cheesecake we had for desert was underwhelming. Waxy, very mute flavor. It seemed like maybe it was an off night for this product, so I would maybe try it once more in the future. Thank you, will return soon.

I came here for dinner and drinks . Classic steak house decor , friendly service . We had crab cakes , Caesar salad and both had burgers. They were very good and the fries were excellent . Very large menu . Would visiting again .

Went to Hunter's for NYC Restaurant Week before it ended. Did their $39.00 Dinner Menu. You got four courses. The food was great. I had the fried calamari, caesar salad and the broiled salmon fillet. My dessert was a piece of cheesecake. The food came out fresh each time. Got to try a buffalo wing as well. I really enjoyed my meal. When I got home, I had the cheesecake. It was light and fluffy. We loved our waitress, Teresa. She was very friendly and checked up on us. Getting to Bay Ridge can be a trek but I can see myself going back to support due to the service alone.

I didn't think it was possible for a steakhouse to make a bland steak, yet here we are.

We had made reservations for the kitchen counter seats. Thinking we would be able to watch the masters at work. However, the seating is too low and you cannot see into the kitchen. So there's that. The service was really lovely. Constantly checking in for more water or if we needed anything. We started off with their Mezcal cocktail, which my husband loved. And I had a flight of sake. I wasn't in love with any of them. But they were all palatable. We shared the Shishido peppers which were absolutely amazing. Highly recommended. We asked for some soy sauce on the side and find that an occasional dip of the pepper really brings out the flavor. We also shared the Wagyu Tataki. The presentation is lovely as it is for all the dishes. However, I found it slightly chewy. But the accompaniments were outstanding. We also shared a 14 ounce 30 day dry aged New York strip. Presented beautifully. Cooked perfectly medium rare. Accompaniments and sauces. Also terrific. However, we did not find that the steak had any actual flavor. But it was smooth and easy to chew. The espresso machine was broken, bummer. But we had a pot of tea and their warm apple pie with vanilla ice cream for dessert. Delicious.

The restaurant itself has a modern, chic décor with a lively but moderate noise level. It strikes a great balance between energetic and intimate, making it an excellent spot for a romantic date night if that's what you're looking for. Our server, Sam, absolutely made the experience. She was incredibly knowledgeable about the menu, answered all of our questions with confidence, and did an amazing job matching our preferences with the perfect food and drink recommendations. Her service was exceptional from beginning to end. We started with the pita and hummus, and you could immediately tell everything was made from scratch. The pita was warm and fresh, the hummus was incredibly smooth and flavorful, and you could truly see and taste the quality. For dinner, we had the burger with the house chips. Both were excellent, and I especially loved the herb mayonnaise that came with the chips. I didn't even realize it was mayonnaise at first because it was so fresh and flavorful! We also shared the Caesar salad, which was delicious. The next morning, we came back for breakfast and ordered the Jerusalem bagel with egg and cheese. It was absolutely decadent and the perfect way to start the day. Between the outstanding food, beautiful atmosphere, and exceptional service, this restaurant exceeded every expectation. A huge shoutout to Sam for making our visit so memorable. We can't wait to come back the next time we're in the area to explore more of the menu and, hopefully, have Sam as our server again!

This is not the city for Mexican food, I do not care who tries to sway me. It simply. Does not. Work. The trend continues at this tiny cantina in Dyker Heights. I paid $40 for mediocrity, maybe even a step or two below it. The staff is friendly and cute, and speaking Spanish will get you further, but the food drops off significantly after the promising chips and dip. When I ordered the Queso Fundido, I was looking forward to a sharp Mexican blend with ground chorizo and some extra chips to boot. Instead I got what looked like blended Oaxaca cheese, an onion top, and some very unattractive bits of chorizo that were begging me not to eat them. So I did not. I ate the cheese because the cheese was pleasant, but the fact it comes with flour tortillas does not help its cause. When I ordered the Tortilla Soup, I was hoping for a nice blend of Mexican spices, shredded chicken, avocado, and tortilla strips. While I did get that, I also got bland flavors and a lack of any personality with the soup. In fact, it had a weird, milky, creamy broth that made me feel uncomfortable about finishing it. So I did not. When I ordered the fish tacos, I was expecting a nice piece of fresh fish, plenty of spicy pico, and an aoli to round out the whole thing. The breading for the fish is a tempura breading (bad call), and the fish they use is tilapia (an even worse call). I understand that this is not San Diego, but these two pieces of fish were practically begging me to put them out of their misery so I could send them packing for the Golden State at a later time. I duly complied. As I walked out I continued to wonder. Will this city ever get it right with a cuisine I hold close to my heart? Because right now, the future is looking bleak. At least my food was spared from further torture.
