Thankfully, Tammy D stepped in and completely saved the day! She was incredibly responsive, flexible and accommodating. Tammi was able to transfer our contract from the Queens location to the Brooklyn location seamlessly, making what could have been a very stressful situation completely worry-free!!! I had always wanted to try this place since I'm Brazilian and had heard so many great things about it! I was in the area and stopped by for happy hour. The menu is appealing, with a great variety of options, and the restaurant is clean and well-maintained. I sat at the bar, and both the drinks and food were excellent. The only downside was the service. It was a Thursday, and they seemed to be short-staffed. We waited quite a while to be served, and the guests around us appeared to be experiencing the same issue. So I've been to a few for these locations now in New York and also tried to one in New Jersey and Florida. This one by far is on the lower ranks than the others, not the best service first we had a reservation for a certain time and had to wait another 25-30 minutes before even getting that table reservation which defeats the purpose, they also lacked providing updates we had to ask what is going on or what the update was. There was no proactive following up. When we were finally seated the you know the usual they bring out a bunch of meats for you to try, the issue was to a flying by us so we had to flag them down on multiple occasions. The experience is having your green coaster up so they know that you're ready for more meats but if you're not looking at it that defeats the purpose and experience. Fogo de chao: Location is spacious! It was just strange that even though we had reservations we still had to wait to be seated and then when they sat us they moved us to another table. In terms of food, they come around offering different types and cuts of meat. There's also a great salad bar with soup, veggies, fruits and smoked salmon. They also give you cards that say yes to more meat or no to the meat. Overall the meats going around the restaurant were just okay. I found it a bit more on the dry side. The service sucks - took them 20 min to bring us a plate for the meat - took another 20 mins for the rodizio to start half the time the staff with the rodizio just walks by the table- super inexperienced. My husband and me have been to many Fogo de Cho all over the United States including San Francisco, San Jose, Los Angeles CA, Portland Oregon, Baltimore and several other locations and this is on top one of the best for its customer service! My go‑to happy hour spot has been feeling different lately. The service has become inconsistent, and it seems like they're struggling to keep staff -- the turnover is noticeable. Some team members even greet you with an attitude when you walk in, which takes away from the welcoming vibe this place used to have. What keeps me coming back is the bar staff, especially Dee. She's always warm, attentive, and knows how to smooth things over when things feel off. Dee is the reason this place still feels worth visiting. Dee is not a bartender but she works the room to make sure customers needs are met. This place, location is becoming a joke for long time customers like myself. The ambience is nice! The service is fantastic. My friend and I went for the $49 lunch buffet special. The salad buffet was unimpressive to me. The meat at first was incredible, minus the picanha, really wasn't a fan of that one at all, too gamey and I didn't love the texture. After a few rounds of blissful meat and just as we were warming up there was a span of maybe 20 minutes where no meat came around so we were ready to pounce. So sad when we loaded up and the meat was salty AF and totally killed my appetite. It would have been an easy five stars but I felt bad about wasting the meat and soldiered through the salt. We attended a dinner party in one of their private rooms, about 25 people. This was my first visit and it was worth it. The servers were so friendly and helpful. From the start the rodizio meat just kept coming. It was well seasoned and absolutely delicious. I even enjoyed the lamb which I rarely eat. The marketplace salad bar was ok, they do offer many options, but I opted for potato salad and cucumber salad. The pao de queijo - cheese bread - on the table was yummy, so were the fried yellow plantains and fried yucca sticks. If you're a meat lover then this is the place for you. Most importantly, the meat was sparse, poorly cooked, and brought around sporadically -- sometimes 3-4 people in 10 minutes, sometimes nobody for 20 minutes.When it did arrive, the meat was crazy salty, and either bloody rare, or overcooked. I was invited to a birthday party it was a party of 8 we made reservations. The establishment is beautiful the food was excellent I had the chicken bacon wrap, steak, lamb and the salad bar. For drinks I ordered the strawberry Hibiscus caipirinha the drinks was watered down. The problem I had was with the waitress she took a long time taking the tables order. The table was told since the party brought there own birthday cake the restaurant does not provide to go containers. When it was time to pay the bill the waitress asked for cash did not want the table to include the tip on there credit card. The waitress was very unprofessional we all felt very uncomfortable. If you can, just go visit the food court downstairs. That citypoint food court is done really well and the food choices are thoughtful, catering to all demographics at a variety of price points. However, on the subject of Fogo I truly had a bewildering experience from start to finish at happy hour. It took nearly 15 minutes after seating to get menus and was only given one, despite my colleague and myself both being seated and only three other customers at the bar. The menu given was dirty and a dinner menu- when we finally got the happy hour menu, it was also dirty. Was not offered water, and when requested- was not given a glass of water. When placing orders, the bartender would immediately walk away when we would request one item and not come back to ask if we wanted anything else. Instead, he would immediately rush to key the items in the POS, which ended up in an incorrect bill by the end of the night for us, and a fully comped meal for another customer. All in all, because everything inexplicably took so long to even order- we spent two hours to get the grand total of: two drinks, one empanada, one order of yuca fries, and one burger. Also, the drinks were too sweet and unbalanced for what they were ( a passion fruit caipirinha and a cucumber mint smash.) I have heard much better reviews for other locations, such as the ones in Scottsdale and Manhattan so would visit one of those to make a better judgment of Fogo. Honestly, looking at the footprint of the space, it's quite possible it's too big to have tight operations. Downtown Brooklyn is still developing as an "upscale" destination and eating food in the middle of a shopping mall won't quite be a draw yet for the type of customer this restaurant is geared towards.In terms of space, this would be perfect for corporate buyouts, but the lack of large companies and the proliferation of city offices in this area make it prohibitive for office holiday party uses. read more
