I brought my car in for routine maintenance in April and not one person was wearing a mask, no one person was social distancing, it was if there wasn't a pandemic happening. I received some smirks for wearing a mask. This business obviously doesn't believe that their customers are taking a risk by bringing their vehicles there and did nothing to ease concerns about getting the virus. I help friends who have cancer, my husband and I are in a high risk group. I won't do business with anyone who is so cavalier with other people's health. read more

I was horrified today that NONE of your employees were wearing masks. When I asked, I was told that it wasn't required by the state. SO WHAT? YOU should be requiring it--especially of your people who are dealing with customers. Have they all been tested? Do you know ath 80% of spreaders are asymptomatic? Brought my 2015 Tundra Limited in for its 85k Service. The service manager/team Tom Carson was able to take the truck on a moments notice without issue. The service was excellent and faster than I anticipated on such short notice. Tom was kind enough to recommend the next service and costs associated with a 90k maintenance in which I appreciated as it won't be as inexpensive as prior services. This was my first experience buying a car from a dealer: a 2011 Toyota Camry. I was told by friends that they were up-front and honest, and so I paid them a visit. I've seen 3 trucks get frame issues done here. 2 were new frames. Done ok but many parts the customer was not expecting and was not informed sbout. 1 frame was "treated" and looked like shit... seriously no care just slathered on.. didn't even wash the frame they just smeared the stuff over the dirt. FRAME REPLACEMENT BEWARE I had a 2007 Toyota Tundra which recently underwent factory recall frame replacement September 2018 at Hurlbert Toyota in Epping, NH. Since the replacement I have had multiple issues with my vehicle. Initially, the dealership would not replace my muffler as they said it was rotted. They did not notice this when I went in, nor did they notice it earlier this summer when I tried to trade the truck in. It took discussion with upper management before they would reinstall my original muffler, which is working fine. Within a few days, my transmission started to slip, it wouldn't exceed 3rd gear, 4 wheel low and check engine lights were on, anti slip light would not turn off, as well as many other lights. I immediately called the dealership and was given a very difficult time to schedule an appointment to reassess the workmanship. They were inflexible and only offered me one appointment which I could not accommodate. They gave me no other option, it was "take this appointment or tough luck." I brought my truck for a second opinion, multiple codes were found and I was quoted about $7,000 needed for repairs. recently went to browse for a new tundra and when my truck was appraised, multiple issues were found with codes. A few days later my truck blew up. The transmission and engine blew. I had it towed to Hurlbert Toyota where I had to beg for an assessment. They told me they did nothing wrong. When I brought my truck in for frame replacement. I was not notified or quoted with any repairs my truck would need. I was not given a through assessment when things started to go awry. Now, the truck sits at a towing place. The bank still owns the truck. And Hurlbert toyota claims nothing. They can't produce an itemized list of items used during the frame replacement. I also wrote to corporate with no response. I'm a lifetime toyota owner. Customers are feeling the repercussions of a toyota settlement. Although they are only being held accountable to fix the frame. There's no transparency of the whole process. I now have 4 more years to pay on a truck that is essentially totaled. read more

As a customer of over fifteen years, I can now say, after trying other dealerships' service departments for various reasons, including moving out of the area, that Hurlburt Service knows what they are doing, and they do it very well. I won't get into how awful some of the other places can be, including parts that are never in, long waits for routine appointments, staff that has no idea how to do the paperwork and check people in or out, incredibly long waits just to check in, etc., but Hurlburt has always been reliable, consistent, personal, and detail-oriented. I will be returning to Hurlburt even though it's out-of-the-way from where we now live, because the service really is that different from other places. They give a detailed report of the multi-point inspection and each team member goes over the bill and the report with every customer, treating every customer like they matter. The waiting area is clean, comfortable, the quiet area is comfortable, and the children's area is cozy and bright. I'll never go back to the "other" dealership again if I can help it. read more

They were "ASKING" a set dollar amount for a certain vehicle. I told them that IF I came to Hulbert and liked the vehicle I would pay the "ASKING PRICE". I was told by the "Sales Manager" that did not make sense. He told me that If I came up with an offer that made sense he would present the offer to his managers. I then explained what I was asking via the following: "ASKING PRICE" plus "ALL FEES" (hidden or otherwise) less "SALES TAX" = "THE ACTUAL PRICE" PLEASE E-MAIL THIS NUMBER - NO REPLY - ALL IS QUITE IN THE SHADOWS. I wish I could give this place Negative stars! This is a terrible business to work with and so many other consumers I have spoken with have found Hulbert Toyota to be terrible to do business with. They incorrectly completed a recall on my vehicle and have refused to acknowledge their wrongdoing or compensate me for the hundreds and possibly thousands of dollars in problems this has caused (despite going through the BBB and attorney generals office). Save yourself the stress and go somewhere where you can get quality customer service and a business that actually has integrity. If you really want a Toyota, I would recommend driving to Manchester or Nashua, they are much better to deal with! read more

I brought my car in for service to replace my windshield washer reservoir. It probably wasn't installed tight enough because it ended up making a rattling sound on the way home. I had to come on in again, and also ended up paying extra for this new problem that should have been done right the first time. As soon as I get on the highway, I turn my radio on and my rear speaker was completely blown. It was working fine when I got there. I just bought these speakers from Best-Buy, had them installed 2 months ago and have a warranty for replacement. When I called the service manager to explain the problem, I was welcomed with condescending remarks. That it was a little coincidental from the time I was there until the time I was home(15 minutes). These kind of things should not be happening, especially with a Toyota dealership. It is what it is. I do intend on taking my business elsewhere and writing a more formal complaint to the company. Just be wary of this dealership's work. Some people have better luck. read more

I am only giving Hurlbert three stars because the Camry we bought in 2000 lasted is 13 years. We went back last winter to replace it and the sales people plaed this game where they line up cars to test drive that they want to get rid of. They pressured us into buying a black Avalon that we didn't want. When they looked at our trade in, they claimed there was hail damage. I was south of Boston when the hail storm went through here so there was no hail damage. So we asked about leasing, and the salesman excused himself and came back 15 minutes later and said the "lease machine" had given them problems. The lease they offered was not acceptable and we turned it down. When we left they parked the Avalon we didn't want right between the door and put car so we had to walk by it. We leased a Honda Accord which we are very happy with. And we will not be going back to Hurlbert unless they treat customers like customers and not idiots! read more

I went into this dealership for my state inspection, and they tried to tell me that my brakes were completely rusted through. They also came up with a list of other problems that needed to be done, totaling $1000. They didn't show me the condition of the brakes, and I just felt like something was wrong, since my brakes had never even squealed on me. So I went and got my state inspection at a local garage, who said everything was fine, and after I told them about the dealership, confirmed that I had done the right thing and didn't need new brakes at all. read more

Purchased extraordinarily clean 05 Rav for daughter in February of 2015. Sales experience was ok. Had better. Had to take delivery on the eve of a snow storm, per their request. No problem for a Rav right? Headed home with daughter following Dad in her new Rav. Had to stop several times to clear windshield for her because washers were not working. White knuckle drive home! Parked Rav for nite. Took a look under hood next morn'. Washer fluid lines frozen solid. Some idiot (at Hurlbert one would assume) filled washer reservoir with "summer" fluid... in February, during one of the most brutal winters we'd had in recent history here in New Hampshire! Pumped reservoir out, thawed lines, replaced with proper winter fluid. Informed salesman when he called a week later for after-sales check-up. He brushed it off ("well at least you got home ok right?"). Idiot! Next email check up from Hurlbert salesman sent after a few months. I informed him that the folks that referred us never got their referral bonus - as promised by Hurlbert advertising and policy. "Jeeze, we'll get right on that". Never happened. Called Hurlbert once more in the summer of 2015 to remind them again about the referral that the folks didn't get yet. "Wow. Can't believe that happened. We'll make sure they get it this time". Never happened. Just last week received another email from our salesman reminding us that it had been a year since our Hurlbert purchase and, here's a 4 wheel alignment discount coupon as a thank-you. Oh, and by the way - "if there is anything we can do for you now or in the future, please don't hesitate to let us know". Replied to this with a reminder of my own that Hurlbert honor their referral bonus for the folks that referred us. We're not holding our breath, that's for sure. Essentially, daughter got a very nice Rav for a reasonable price, but we have very little use for the dealership after the sale. Went in for routine warranty work and a broken latch on the tailgate of my 2015 Tacoma Pickup. Warranty service was excellent. After some confusion as to whether the broken latch was "after market" or Toyota installed, a new latch was put on order.Was called about 7 days later and informed part was in. Latch was replaced without incident. My only complaint--I felt it took too long for part to arrive. read more

I give Hurlbert 1 star because they give free water. I went to Hurlbert to get my airbag light diagnosed and to get emission/inspection. Airbag light was $101 to fix (left water bottle under seat) ok. Our car is in great shape so we expected no problems. The service writer gave me the bad news - that I needed $1896. worth of work. Then I asked what absolutely had to be fixed for inspection/emission. That was only $932, but really should have boot kit - adding $337. I took my car and left. I went to TWO independents (Stratham Tire and Price's Sunnycrest Garage). They were BOTH shocked at the printout from Hurlbert and BOTH said problem was $200 fix. I went back to Hurlbert and suggested the $200 fix - they said NO WAY, wouldn't do it. So, I went back to Stratham Tire and had them fix car (by the way, they told me it would be $200 - my bill was $159 - YEAH for an honest mechanic). I went back to Hurlbert after repair (since I had already paid my $45 for inspection). They passed my car. Humph - so I guess i REALLY DIDN'T need $1896 worth of work. The funny thing is, my airbag light went back on. I went back to Hurlbert, since I had already paid them to fix it - hoping they would guarantee their work. After waiting for an hour - they came back with the bad news - I needed a new airbag - only $750. ARE YOU KIDDING. I drove away, airbag light was off and hasn't come back on. I've never done a help review, and this was a pain, but Hurlbert drove me to it. read more

Sienna Van went in to have slider door fixed,Didn't happen and AGAIN changed for NOT fixing .. we love our Toyotas but the service dept Just did not care! WORST experience of my life!!!!!! I would NEVER recommend this dealership to anyone what so ever!!!!!!! I'd rather travel an hour to another dealership than go here ever again. I basically bought a new car earlier in the month and everything went smoothly.....or so I thought. The sales aspect of the dealership was awesome!! But, their service department SUCKS!!!!! I had to go back about 5 times altogether since I had bought the car. They installed the navigation system I chose to have and when I went home, I noticed my dashboard wasn't put together properly what so ever!! Not to mention there was a piece of the dashboard completely falling OFF!!!!! They fixed the problem, but, I have to admit, that's sad and pathetic they can't even put a dashboard together. Doesn't inspire much confidence they can do anything more high tech!! So, I thought the nightmare was FINALLY over.......NOT!!!! I couldn't get the blue tooth to work so that I could make phone calls and receive calls. So, I decided I would just go to the Portsmouth Toyota/Scion to have them look at it. Come to find out, the Hurlbert Toyota/Scion in Epping,NH didn't install the wires correctly. They fixed another dealerships problem!! So, I don't care what anyone has to say or what the dealership has to say, I've told numerous people at my work to NEVER go here ever!!! The damage is done and nothing will change my mind on how I feel about this dealership. I'm glad I never have to go here ever again!! read more

to say hurlbert has let me down is quite an understatement. the reason i purchased a brand new vehicle was mainly so i didn't have to repair my vehicle myself. i am fully capable of fixing most things automotive related, but since i do it all day for a living, id rather not do it after hours also. trying to get the team at hurlbert to do anything outside the complimentary oil changes and tire rotations is impossible. my LCA howled like crazy. asked them to address the issue. they basically said i was crazy. i was already aware of a service bulletin for this truck and issue. they wouldnt acknowledge the bulletin and basically said i was crazy. fixed it myself in a similar manner outlined by tsb. cost me parts and a few minutes. now my clutch pedal squeaks every time you depress it and hurlbert again refused to even attempt to diagnose issue. now i am left dealing with toyota care corporate, because i do not want to purchase a whole pedal assembly and master cylinder and replace it myself as outlined by another tsb directly related to the clutch pedal assy. if you need your tires rotated and oil changed, might be ok. other than that dont expect any help from anyone there and they do not seem qualified to do anything much bigger than that.(i was told my tacoma does not have grease fittings. not only can you see them clearly without even lifting the truck, every 4wd toyota truck has had greasable u joints since well ever. also told every tacoma clutch pedal creeks and squeaks, moments later tech admitted to never driving another 16 with a manual) read more
