I negotiated with the dealer online and we were genuinely close to a deal. The only "next step," they said, was to see my trade in person. They even hinted they could sweeten the deal. So I went in. Two hours later, the deal wasn't sweeter. It was $5,000 worse. After I'm already there, already invested, already waiting... they knocked $5,000 off my trade value. Not a little adjustment. Not "hey we found something." Five thousand dollars. The only thing that got sweetened was their margin. The whole experience felt like old-school pressure tactics: stall, wear you down, change the terms, act surprised when you don't smile and sign. I was also told multiple things by Joe that didn't match what we had already agreed to online, which made it hard to trust anything being said. What's wild is they still expected me to accept a deal that got $5k worse after I showed up. That's not negotiating. That's bait-and-switch energy. I walked. I went to another local Toyota dealer and got a deal $1,000 better than the original quote from this dealer -- and the entire experience was smoother, more transparent, and more respectful. I would like to begin by saying that I have never written a review before, but I felt compelled to share my recent experience. I will not be purchasing another vehicle from McGee Toyota in Epping NH. I recently purchased a new 2026 Toyota Prius Plug-In Hybrid, and I truly love the vehicle itself. I located the exact color and package I wanted through Toyota's website, and McGee Toyota was the only dealership that had one available. I completed the credit application and submitted my information online, agreed to the purchase price, and placed a deposit. At that point, the only remaining items were to finalize the trade-in value of my current vehicle and sign the paperwork at the dealership. When I arrived at the dealership, they inspected my trade-in and immediately reduced the value by $5,000 from the online estimate, citing minor rust on the door hinges. Given that it is winter in Vermont & New Hampshire and road salt is common, this seemed excessive. The rust would also come off with a little fluid film spray and a rag; had I been thinking I would have done before going to the dealership. Leason learned. They also stated that I had listed 3,000 fewer miles than the vehicle actually had. I am confident the mileage I provided was accurate. The salesperson had warned me when I got there that they seem to always come in ($3000-$5000) under the online price and he was right. Despite my concerns, I ultimately agreed to move forward on the condition that they would pay off my existing loan. The next issue arose with the paperwork. All documents were prepared listing my husband as the primary buyer and me as the co-signer. I had completed all paperwork and communications myself, and my husband had not been involved in the process. I have no understanding of why this change was made. When I questioned it, I was told that I had filled out the paperwork that way, which is simply not true. We then had to wait approximately another hour while all documents were redone correctly. When the financing paperwork was presented, it reflected a 6.7% interest rate. Both my husband and I have good credit. I clearly stated that I would not proceed with the purchase unless we qualified for Toyota's 0.9% promotional rate. They reran our credit a second time, for some reason and we were then approved for the 0.9% rate. By the time everything was finalized, it was closing time, and it was evident that staff were eager to leave. I received only a very brief overview of the vehicle's features and was told I could look up additional information on YouTube if needed. One week later, I received a letter in the mail containing a check and all the paperwork required to register my new vehicle myself. This now requires me to take time off from work to visit the DMV, which I did not anticipate having to do. I would have thought they would had discussed this with me. Since then, I have attempted to contact the dealership three times to discuss these issues. Each time, I was transferred to voicemail and did not receive a return call. I also spoke with the receptionist twice without resolution. It is disappointing that when inquiring about purchasing a vehicle, multiple people respond within minutes, yet when attempting to resolve post-sale concerns, communication becomes nonexistent. While I am very happy with my new Prius, the overall purchasing experience was frustrating and unprofessional. They told me both my inner axle boots were leaking and need to be replaced immediately to prevent having to replace whole axles. I declined repairs. Scheduled to have both boots replaced, paid for parts. Before driving over to drop my truck off for $900 in axle boot replacement I decided to look under my truck. One side is leaking, the other is bone dry. When the advisor was trying to sell me boots, he showed me a 2 second clip of a leaking boot and said both are leaking. Today I found out it was 3 seconds out of a e minute video where the technician said it would be a good idea to replace both but only one leaking. Of course the greedy advisor didnt want me to see that part so he didnt show it. General manager was able to get me a refund for the boots and cancel the appointment but told me it was just a mistake and that's all. I am absolutely appalled by the service department at McGee Toyota in Epping. For context, I'm a mechanic and I work in business operations -- I understand both the technical side and what basic customer service should look like. What we experienced here was a complete failure on both fronts. We dropped our vehicle off for tires, an alignment, and an airbag/seatbelt light that wouldn't shut off. We did our part: the vehicle was there before they opened. By mid‑morning, we received a text informing us of a $185 diagnostic fee for the airbag issue -- the first major red flag, considering this was never mentioned in the multiple scheduling calls it took just to book a routine service. Despite repeated attempts to confirm that the vehicle would be ready the same day, we received a text in the afternoon assuring us the technician was finishing up and that a 4:00 p.m. pickup was fine. Then, at 4:12 p.m., we received their disgraceful "after inspecting your vehicle" email -- nearly $15,000 in so‑called immediate service needs, including an absurd $8,000 in exhaust work alone. And of course, the vehicle was not ready for pickup, leaving us stranded during an extremely busy spring baseball season. To make matters worse, we currently have another family vehicle in their shop for rodent damage. That estimate has now ballooned to nearly $9,000 just for inspection and removal of interior components -- no parts, no repairs, just removal. And communication? Nonexistent. I would not recommend getting you vehicle serviced here. I bought my 2020 Tacoma from there and have had it serviced and inspected every year. Signing up for a 3 visit plan last year. (oil and rotate tires) Made an appointment the other day for inspection, oil and tire rotation. Received a text when multipoint inspection was complete and needed some minor items and valve cover gasket for about 900. When I questioned the need for the gasket after some discussion it was determined that the work needed to be done but it was under warranty and I would not have to pay. (quick 900 saving by simply asking) At this point I decided to hold off on the minor work of two air filters and dirty battery (170 dollars). Then my service assistant left and came back with my inspection report and stated the truck failed due to after market tint on rear window. I said I don't understand because I bought it like that and have had it inspected here every year since. After some back for forth, polite discussion, trying to understand how this could be I reiterated I have done nothing to the truck regarding this. The reply from my service advisor was. "Yes you did." Feeling frustrated at this point I paid the failed inspection, that is now part of the NH registry information, and left. Doing some research at home and calling other dealerships I now understand how the tint inspection rules are done and the value of the extra work McGee wanted to do. Most people know that dealerships try to upsell people on stuff all the time. But this place takes the cake. Literally replaced the wiper inserts (front and back) in March. These guys said they were streaking and wanted to charge us $57. Anywho, I guess the mechanic failed to notice the dead bug residue that was causing the wiper to not be flush with the windshield and so it streaked in that spot a tiny bit. Don't jerk people around. I am willing to change this review based on how the company responds but let me detail what I would describe as the worst customer service I have ever experienced on 5/24 I set a deposit on a Grand Highlander. Almando, the gentleman I was working with, was very helpful, friendly, and informative. I arrived at the dealership with my partner to (hopefully) make an offer, work out a deal, typical things you would expect. What was offered was perfect for me and we agreed on the offer. The finance manager then comes over and explains how the banks are closed and getting me the initial offer was going to be difficult. He did not, in my opinion, do the right thing, and just hold the offer until the banks were open. Instead, he goes on about a 2 minute rant with numbers that confused both of us so we started to ask questions. My partner asked him to "explain it to him as if he were an idiot" to which the manager replied "I JUST DID." He pointed out that his response was rude, manager didn't apologize and instead laughed. He was very aggressively trying to get me to extend my loan term by a YEAR, and, jack up my apr by 2%, in some scheme to try and get me to leave with the car then and there when it would have made more sense to finalize once the banks were opened. We then discussed warranties. Instead of asking me, he went ahead and added gap insurance and an extended warranty into the sale price. When my partner questioned why he did that, the manager looked at me and very aggressively said "well if you don't want it then why did you get the warranty on your current subaru?" Why I did that is none of his business. At this point i was extremely uncomfortable especially with the manager's tone. He was making multiple condescending remarks and actually at one point told my partner to "stay out of the conversation." His face was red, his voice was raised the entire time. He didn't once ask me what I wanted, he was simply pushing his agenda which was to try and take advantage of me and when we contested anything, he got increasingly more upset. When I finally told him I had enough and stated that we're done and leaving, he picked up my warranty paperwork and threw it at me then as he walked off said "whatever.. TYPICAL SUBARU OWNER." If you become irate when the consumer challenges you or asks basic questions.. this probably isn't the line of work for you. Based on previous reviews, I don't think this one person reflects the values of the company (and from what we were told, he had only been there a week) but this one person ruined our experience as well as our memorial day weekend. I forget her name but the sales manager that was there took the time, even when they were closed at the time, to sit down and understand the situation, and formally apologize. That was very much appreciated. Again, I have never experienced anything like this before when purchasing a vehicle. Wasted my time twice... After some email discussion with the sales team, I scheduled a time to come in. When I arrived, not one customer inside and maybe 6-8 staff standing around. Approached two of them and neither had any idea why I was there and the vehicle I was supposed to see wasn't anywhere to be found. Both employees told me they were too busy to help me and walked off. One sitting down and just looking at his phone. Sent an email to the contact I had online and the next day I get a call from a sales manager pledging to make it right. Sets up an appointment for me to come back and meet with him. I go back a few days later at the time of my appointment, and I get a sales person (which I expected) and the manager I was supposed to meet with never made an appearance and wasn't available. The only positive and what appeared promising was they price of the vehicle was matched and beaten by $250 from another dealership. The sales person I had was great, but its the sales managers and appraisers that hold the cards. I was told for my trouble the first time they would even take another 1k off. The offer for my trade was an insult to say the least. I have never expected top dollar for my trades but even when I told them I know the value and what to expect, I get an offer about 7.5k below that. Now comes the back and forth and their "best offer" is still 5k below a reasonable offer. Seemed to be some shoulder shrugging when I had to mention the 1k that was supposed to be deducted. In the end, another waste of time. Never met with the sales manager who told me I'd be meeting with him personally. SO it appears McGee will be glad to discount their vehicles and match other dealer prices, but will make sure they short you on the trade. They refused to even match a trade value from another dealership. So if you want to be disappointed and get the numbers run around, then I suggest you shop here. Back to the other dealership that was willing to at least come close to paying the fair trade value. I even sent a text to the sales manager I was supposed to meet with on his "personal cell" expressing my frustration and he has yet to respond. I went up asked, and they were supposedly finishing up my oil change. This is a service that Portsmouth Toyota finished in 45 min. After being called and emailed repeatedly, I finally came to trade my 4Runner that I had originally purchased from McGee. I went through with the trade and I like the Tundra I got and Mondo was great. However, I had aftermarket lights on my car that I wanted and was told by service, sales and the gm himself that it was no problem and they would even pull them for me free of cost. I brought in all the stock pieces and after 2 days received a text saying that my car had been sent to auction with all the parts still on it and that I could come pick up the stuff I brought them. That was unacceptable and I went in to speak with them about it. They refused to go get the parts, to bring the car back or allow me the authorization required by the auction house to go get them myself. I am beyond pissed. The last offer from them was for me to pay $150 for their screw up to bring the car back and fix the issue. I'm not paying a dime for their mess. This will be my last time working with them. If I could give less I would. I originally purchased my 2018 trd pro 4runner from them in sept of 2020 and it was a wonderful experience. The former Gm Greg was a gem he heard from a friend that I was looking for a very special color and he located one purchased it and brought it to his dealership and sold it to me and helped me surprise my wife! Fast forward to our most recent experience and it was significantly different....I had received a text asking if I would like to sell the 4runner as it was a big seller and if I would be willing to come in and do an appraisal so I agreed. I did the appraisal and of course had to haggle on price until it was reasonable. I chose to trade it in at a dealer in my dealer group to take advantage of the employee pricing that was being offered to me. On the day I was going to trade it in I got a call from the salesmen at McGee asking me to give them a chance to beat the pricing I was given. I obliged as it was on the way. I showed up with my wife and my 2 trad ins as we were looking for 2 new Tundras. We sat down with Mondo who seemed good. He pulled up to the front both new Tundras and I wanted to know if it would be a problem if I removed the aftermarket headlights and fog lights I had installed. Mondo said let me make sure that wont be a problem and went to speak with his sales manager and came right back and said no they are all yours. This is where it gets bad. We were trying to purchase the Tundras under our business and nobody knew how to do the paperwork. So after about 4 hours of waiting and a lot of paperwork being redone we left the dealership and we were told the finance manager would work on the deal more the next day. Next day comes and No call and finally at about 6pm we got a text message saying our credit was good enough to approve both loans and that we should just do one. We put it on hold and I called the sales manager at my toyota and he said he could get it done. We went to the other dealership paperwork went smooth and they were able to get close to what we were looking for but Mcgee had said they could do one of them for less. So my wife went back and closed the deal the next day and we had both of our tundras. As she was doing the final paperwork she asked if we could still pickup the new tundra over the weekend so that I would have time to swap out the aftermarket lights for the oem lights and then bring the 4runner into the dealership to pickup the tundra. Both the general sales manger (MO) and the General manager (Nigel Long) spoke with my wife and said they would be happy to have the technicians do it @ the dealership free of charge. Great! she thought so she agreed to bring in the oem components. That monday she dropped them off and everyone knew why she was there and helped here immediately. Few days went by and my wife called to get a status update and was told the 4runner had been take to auction with the aftermarket components still installed on the car. I immediately called and spoke with Steve one of the managers who made me feel like I was on trial saying things like well I dont remember approving this or was there a we owe etc. Everyone knew about this but nobody was taking ownership of the problem. After 3 days of going back and forth I was told to bad per the GM. So on Saturday my wife went in and spoke with Mo and he said he was so sorry hew was the one that approved this but the GM is still Refusing BUT if we paid $150.00 dollars they would get the car back and swap out the lights. She said in no way are we responsible for any of this I do not recommend this dealership not because of sales or service but because of lack of leadership and standing behind their representatives. I have sent multiple emails to the Gm with out any response or acknowledgment. I hate doing this but I will be seeking legal action. STAY AWAY there are far better dealerships. read more

I bought a 2017 Tundra with 96k on the clock. Test drove it, had a pull to the right. Baylor (Sales CON) accentuated the fact they would align it and have the shop go over it before I took Delivery. Well I chose to have it delivered. It arrived at my residence as scheduled and sporting brand new tires, for which I was grateful. So I needed to run an errand that day. Jumped in the truck and low and behold it was still pulling to the right. I live an hour north of Epping where I purchased the truck, so they got me into the Claremont McGee Toyota service . 3 hours in the waiting room. I was the last customer out that day. They claimed they fixed it, showed me the alignment printout. Jump in it and again Pulling right. Brought it back next morning. Arrangements for a rental on Epping Toyota's dime so they could have it for the day to dive into it. Came back at 5 the next day, and still not fixed. Went on test drive with mechanic the next day, he agreed it was pulling, I am now at 17K miles of my ownership into this truck. My new tires, well the front are scalloped so bad they will not pass inspection and were marked unsafe. But there is nothing wrong according to Toyota. Are we living in the Land of Oz? Save your cash. Buy elsewhere!!!! read more

I wrote a review in 2020 because no one in the dealership was wearing a mask. Then NH had an indoor mask mandate for a while and I went back because they were now required to mask. We just brought my vehicle back in for routine maintenance after receiving an email from the service department which states the following: "The safety of our employees and the community is our top priority. We will continue to take the extra steps to keep our customers and employees safe. IN AN EFFORT TO PRACTICE SOCIAL DISTANCING WE HAVE REDUCED OUR SERVICE STAFF." (Emphasis is mine). Not one person was wearing a mask in the dealership, neither the two people behind the desk in the service department nor the people who check you out after an appointment. I don't know why their service staff is 'reduced' but it obviously has little to do with concern for anyone's safety. read more

Just purchased a new Prius 2024 from McGee. Baylor Rozzell was very helpful and adaptable to my changes to what I was willing to accept for models and options. It took 6 months to get one that was close to what I wanted but, they are just not getting a lot of Priuses. The wait was well worth it and I love my new car. I would definitely deal there again. I did not feel overly pressured to buy all the extra guarantees/warrantees, etc. Some of which I feel should be part of total package when you are paying this kind of money for a car, but I believe that is Toyota, not McGee. read more

I purchased a 2024 platinum grand highlander about 6 months ago )May 2024). They were supposed to order a a piece for one of the back seat as it was broken and needed to be replaced. They also had to order the cargo mats as well. I took it for my 3 month maintenance (August) and still was not order. I shared during that time that the sunroof black rubber seal would come off and was afraid off getting the inside wet. They supposedly couldn't fix it because they couldn't see anything wrong with it. Fast forward 6 months later and I haven't received any call from anyone. Now the door lock button in the passenger side not working and rubber seal comes out more often now then before and the sunroof control buttons that holds sunglasses is coming out. I was supposed to get a call to have the second key given to me but never received a call. I called today and someone was supposed to call me back and never did. Waited the entire day. I'm very disappointed with McGee Toyota and even more disappointed that no one bothers to call me back. If I don't receive a call back soon, I will reach out to the BBB, Toyota customer service and will consider legal actions. read more
