Great place to nosh for pre or post beach day being that it is located right on US1. The interior is a bit old and could use an update, but the food itself was excellent. We had the eggplant appetizer which was enough for me to enjoy as a main dish and the mixed super greens salad. The eggplant was not greasy at all and the sauce it was covered in was sweetened by vidalia onions. The mixed super greens salad was inhaled! The fruit, nut and gorgonzola cheese combo was a win. My husband and I have frequented the Hurricane Cafe many times and have generally had a good experience, until last week. We stopped by around 3:30 in the afternoon for lunch and sat outside. There was one other occupied table but slowly three other parties arrived. We eventually placed our order after asking for menus twice from two surly waitresses. We placed our order and waited for ALL three tables which arrived after us to be served. It took one hour to get our order. No apology was given except "There was a mix up in the kitchen" after we questioned what was going on. Were we invisable while the waitress served THREE other tables? After we asked about our order, the waitress said she would give us a dessert, which she did. She knew we were upset. There are too many other restaurants who respect their patrons. We'll go somewhere else from now on. read more

A few pros and cons here, pros being that the food was fantastic. I got the french toast Monte Cristo and oMg. The portions are a good size for the money. One thing i do regret is sitting at the bar. When we went it was kind of busy and there were people cramped like a foot behind us waiting for a table. We kept getting bumped into when other people leaving were trying get by. Had a nice lunch with friends before heading to an event. I love the pet friendly dining on the patio and all the other diners were thrilled to see our goldens plus the server brought them a bowl of cold water. I had the fish & chips with slaw, I've never been to a restaurant that serves Basa so that was a nice surprise, it was cooked perfectly and the waffle fries were used, just a tad too crispy, the slaw was also delicious. My one friend got the grilled cheese and I couldn't get over how big it was. The only drawback was that the server wasn't very personable or attentive. read more

One of our favorite long time spots - I've been going here since I was a young kid (20 years!). A family favorite is their waffle fries with anything. We visited right after landing in palm beach and I got the strawberry spinach salad which was divine. Others got the pecan-crusted chicken, blackened grouper wraps, and chicken fingers - and no one left hungry. The decor and menu is very old school and friendly to the snowbirds. Worst Hospitality I have ever experienced at a restaurant. Wish I could have been able to try the food but unfortunately left before even being seated. Stood in line for 20 minutes to be seated for them to tell me I could have sat anywhere outside that had an open table. Unbeknownst to us, parties were seating themselves that arrived there way after us outside, even though there is clearly a sign that states to talk to host/hostess to be seated for outdoor tables. When attempting to sit outside now at an uncleaned table, a waitress told us that we had to wait on line to be seated? It was the straw that broke the camels back and we just left. It was a dog beach morning followed by breakfast at Hurricane. Choose this place because they have espresso drinks and allow dogs in their outdoor seating. Located in a strip mall, bright and cheery yellow. If you are not there at 8am, might have to wait for a table to sit outside. We got lucky as someone was leaving at 8:20, however it took until 8:30 for the table to get cleaned/wiped and probably 8:40 for a waitress to appear. Have patience if eating here, as it was a weekday. Service is leisurely, and the chef actually brought out our meal in his fancy white coat, which was very nice. It would be better for the syrup to be heated, rather than the syrup left by the earlier customer (kind of like IHOP). The French toast was good, but expected to REALLY taste the honey & vanilla and I didn't. Hubby's breakfast burrito was good but the lattes were only ok. I expected them to be tastier as they were a Starbucks price, but tasted more like an automated machine rather than the Breville type machine I saw inside. read more

I wish I could give less than one star. Went there ...my first time in west palm beach. It was a Saturday around 4pm. They only had 3 tables of customers. I waited 30mins and stilllllll no one came to us to ask if we wanted a drink or ask for our food order. Horrible service. Would not go again n yes I'm black....they served the white family that came in after us. No thank you. Won't be getting my money read more

Next time we'll stick to Juno Beach Cafe, which is right across the street. We came here because Juno Beach Cafe was too busy. Big mistake. If they're too busy to get in, I'd go for First Watch on Indiantown (great lunch there also). We waited 2-3 times as long as we were told; food wasn't very good. My wife's omelet had something raw in it that smelled weird. My pancakes tasted like they were made of cornmeal or something. They were very dry. Overall, this is the worst breakfast I've had in Jupiter. read more

With no frills about it hurricane cafe is a solid place for some great food. Most of the reviews here are for their breakfast but we actually went for dinner and had one of the best meals of our stay in the Juno area. The corking fee for bringing your own bottle was a mere 5 dollars! Amazing. The place is definitely not fancy, it's not divey either. Just a relaxed vibe. The service we got was top notch. They came out with complimentary bread and oil dip. We got some calamari to start which was fried up with spicy peppers. Fresh and yummy. For my entree I got the sweet potato crusted grouper and the BF got the macadamia encrusted basa. Both of our meals had a side of vegetable medley and coconut rice. The fish was phenomenal. The grouper came alongside this amazing mango type sauce which really complimented the dish. The BFs food had a flavored herb better spread and it was so crunchy and tasty we both ate our fish to the last bite. The sides weren't anything special but with a piece of fish like that we didn't really care about eating rice. We opted for dessert and coffee and split a cappuccino and a piece of apple crumble. It was delicious and told to be made fresh in house. This is a must visit place especially for seafood lovers. read more

I was torn on this review, as I can't say the execution of the food I sampled at breakfast was quite what I was expecting. Grilled muffins sounded terribly appetizing, and while the nutty muffin was tasty, it was hot on the side that touched the grill, but cold on the other. The hot/cold dichotomy was just not all that appealing. Need to at least put it in the microwave before grilling, or grill both sides. Wild blueberry pancakes were sizable and loaded with blueberries. Not overly buttery/greasy at all, which I very much appreciated. The only problem here was that the pancakes were just a bit on the rubbery side. Yet even with these flaws, I can't help but be a fan, and I suspect I'd be a regular if I lived in this area. Why? Well, the service was efficient and friendly. And they offered REAL MAPLE SYRUP! Granted, you have to pay a $1 upcharge for a little bottle of it, but that's a very reasonable price I'm more than willing to pay. I wish more places would offer this option, because I don't want to douse my waffles/pancakes/French toast with that gross fake syrup. It's become so bad all around South Florida, I've started bringing my own real syrup to breakfast joints. I can't help but be a fan of a place that offers the real thing. read more

We used to love their breakfasts. We tried to go for dinner but not one of the 6 employees who we interacted with offered to help us, seat us, or give any sort of greeting. We gave it a good 15-20 minutes. I can not recommend the food because we didn't have a chance to eat it. The service was nonexistent. If any of the staff were trained in hospitality they would have greeted us and properly attended to our party. It was not busy and they still seemed very overwhelmed. read more

Today was not the best day. Sort of left me discouraged to not come back as often. The good news was that there wasn't much of a wait today.
