Nice place with a cool country vibe. Has a couple of pool tables, nice size seating area and a full blown bar. We stopped in for lunch while in downtown. The waitress was very attentive and informative. We both had grilled cheeses, 1 with pepper jack and pulled pork the other with cheddar and bacon. For side we had tots and mashed potatoes. We also had a bowl of tomato soup. Everything was well prepared and came out very timely. Everything was very good, the potatoes were a little bland but that is the only complaint. Hurricane Creek Saloon is a fun, open atmosphere that is inviting and pleasant. The service and hostess staff are accommodating , kind and knowledgeable. From a service standpoint this throwback to the Honkytonk's of the 1970's and 80's gets 5 stars. If the Big Boy did reviews based on the total experience instead of just food, they would be at 3.5 stars with a warning, "to drink and be merry. but don't eat this distasteful swill!" My server, Alexis, was a true breath of fresh air. She could teach a class on great customer service. I ordered a scotch (neat) and it was pored strong and generously. I truly can't say enough positive things about the decor and service. Truly stellar. The menu here is so creative, that I was blown away by the depth. However, there seems to be once again a disconnect between creativity and the ability to pull it off. I started with pork rinds. These were frozen and quickly fried. If you look at the picture you will see a before and after pic. The before is this fluffy looking rind. Once the saliva hits it there is no crunch. It turns into a round hard oval that cannot be swallowed. This was absolutely horrifying. My second course was a country fried steak. I have to give Hurricane Creek credit, I did not think you could find a crappier frozen country fried steak than Sysco or Cheney brothers; however, they were able to sink to the absolute rock bottom and purvey the cheapest most tasteless steak I have ever had the displeasure of attempting to eat. The mashed potatoes were of the instant variety and the green beans harken back to elementary school when you were served green beans out of a 5 gallon bucket. These were repugnant (I am running out of synonyms for "bad"). Finally, came the Cat 5 grilled cheese. This is where the extra star came from. This sandwich comes loaded with Cheddar, Pepper Jack, Swiss, Provolone, Mozzarella and Bacon. Yes, Bacon, you know, meat candy. How hard is it to screw up a Grilled Cheese.? Very hard. So, the cook managed to pull off the simplest dish known to man (golf clap). Bravo, Sir. My father-in-law and I went to Hurricane Creek for the Cleveland Browns game on Sunday. Being from out of town and looking for a place to watch the game, Hurricane Creek Saloon is a Browns Backers bar and had the game on EVERY tv. They had a DJ passing out door prizes, 50/50 raffle, and selling Browns Backers t-shirts. The beer was cold and very reasonably priced. The wait staff was extraordinary with their service and the food was decent for a bar. The regular patrons were more than welcoming to us out of towners which was refreshing in itself. I would recommend Hurricane Creek to anyone looking to enjoy a night out for drinks and especially someone in town looking to watch the Browns. read more

Had lunch with my friend, and we had the fried pickle fries and grilled chicken salads. The food was really good! They have an array of alcohol-based slushies...and the high octane one was good, and so was the blue razz. At night, they have line dancing classes, and then line dancing for rest of the night. I love to go to Hurricane Creek for the Line Dancing! They offer lessons from 7:00-9:00 pm on Friday. ( I believe Wed as well .?) They've got dance instructors to break it all down for you and they keep the dances they are teaching to basic and basic intermediate. I try to go as often as my work schedule will allow and I notice that there are ALL ages and ALL style of dress. ( If you've got cowboy boots this is the place to "Boot Scoot"! ) I also see its a wide range of skill level out there on the dance floor as well. So if you've been thinking of trying the line dancing for something new......dont feel shy because you "can't do it". There are no requirements! Just bring a smile! The people at Hurricane Creek are friendly and very soon you'll be making new friends. To date, I have never eaten at Hurricane Creek as they offer a menu and I've asked a couple people what they thought of their food and the response has been favorable. Because I havent tried the food myself I only given 4 stars for my review. But the bartendresses are quick, attentive and have a happy upbeat attitude! ( Love "Kat" - shes a doll ! ) Another area I must mention as its important is the condition of the bathrooms. They are very nicely modernized - all fixtures, tiles and walls look very new and everything has always been clean and well stocked. I was totally impressed! For the kid, we order the chicken tenders. It looks like the tenders were frozen but they tasted good. Also, we got the Cat 5 Grilled Cheese with Bacon.
