After more than 25 years of coming to Pineda Inn, I've reached the point where I can no longer make excuses for what this place has become. This latest visit was a perfect example of why many longtime customers are giving up. It was a beautiful Saturday afternoon, the kind of day when this place used to be packed with people waiting for a table. Instead it was surprisingly quiet and the inside bar was empty which should have tipped us off. After our recent experience, it's obvious why. We waited for over an hour for two sandwiches. Not a complicated order. Not a huge party. Two sandwiches. During that entire time, there was no sense of urgency from the bar waitress, no effort to keep us informed and no indication that anyone cared that customers were sitting watching the clock. When we finally asked about the delay, the response was "it's busy outside", it wasn't , in fact almost nobody. But after waiting for over an hour, customers don't want excuses - they want someone who actually cares and seems concerned about good service. A simple apology, an update, or even a little empathy would have gone a long way. Instead, the attitude seemed to be that our frustration was somehow our problem. Then the food arrived. The mahi Reuben was a complete disaster. The bread was so soggy and waterlogged that it literally fell apart. It wasn't just bad, it was inedible. Who knew that sour kraut must be at a premium when it wasn't even added. Any kitchen, or server, with even the slightest standards would have thrown it in the trash, along with the cold soggy fries. Instead, it was served without a second thought. The most frustrating part is that this isn't a one-time experience and seems to be more the norm than the exception. The kitchen has been going downhill for a while with LONG wait times and mediocre food and it seems that nobody is interested in fixing it. Orders take forever, quality continues to decline and the response from staff seems to range from indifference to excuses. A restaurant doesn't survive for decades because of its building or location. It survives because of loyal customers. I've know Pineda through many owners, it now feels like management is relying entirely on a reputation that was earned decades ago while doing very little to maintain it. After almost 30 years, this was the worst experience I've ever had here. An hour wait for two sandwiches, and inedible meal, and the only explanation being "it's not my fault." Maybe that's the problem. Everyone has an excuse, but nobody has a solution. At this point, the biggest disappointment isn't the food, it's the overwhelming feeling that nobody cares. And it's sad, as I've met the owners at their other establishment - I expect and deserve better - especially at $17 FOR A SANDWICH!!! read more

This is a cool restaurant and bar on the costal River. We sat at the bar which had an amazing.of the River. Dan was our server. We, my brother and I, were there for dinner and our focus was food. We ordered cheeseburgers. My was order, medium, and my brothers was medium rare. Both burgers came out, displayed perfectly. They tasted very good. The french fries were french fries with no special taste. They were fresh and crunchy to our liking. Overall, the restaurant had a pleasant atmosphere. The service was good. No! ... S L O W service, dirty outdoor tables with ants on them. Food,... over fried coconut shrimp and tiny conch fritters which had no conch pieces in them, just breading. Small cup of tasteless coleslaw and bland cocktail sauce. Food came w/o utensils, waitress had to search for utensils. You won't get a paper bill either. Server shows you only a total on a hand held electronic gizmo. Sorry I want a paper bill so I know what I'm being charged for and that it's MY food I'm paying for. We went tonight with a party of 6. The place was empty on a Friday night at 6:30. We were forced to sit outside in 60*weather. There was one heater beside a table of 2. We ask for a heater and we're told the other heaters were just for looks. Not true. They were not busy at all. Less than 20 patrons in the entire place, yet our server was less than attentive. Took 20 min to get another beer. I was a server in a very busy Key West restaurant, so I know about serving correctly. Stopped by for the first time today to check the place out. Very casual atmosphere, you can eat inside, at the tiki bar or outside with a very nice view of Indian River. Nice atmosphere, great service, tasty food. Not a big menu but enough for a quick bite. Today there was live music, not sure of this ongoing or in certain days only. Overall it was a very nice, casual, experience. Can't wait to take my family when they come up to visit. read more

Pineda Inn has become our "go to" local place. The food is very good, especially the muscles, chowder, hamburgers & onion rings. Really have never been disappointed with anything we ordered. We love to sit out by the water and listen to the live music they often have. The service is generally good, sometimes a little slow when the place is packed. The draw is the view of the river and casual comfortable atmosphere. Great little dive bar ! read more

My friend and I have been coming to the Pineda Inn for 5-6 years. We enjoy sitting outside at the Tiki bar - it has a fantastic breeze almost always, and It is right on the river - great view. However, I'm not sure what has been going on, but the food has really taken a nose dive. Because I, (like many people), have an ongoing battle with high blood sugar, I am careful with what I choose to eat and drink. Usually, I will order the burger, or the Pork Ribeye, or occasionally the Fish and Chips. ALL of these used to be wonderful. My friend got the Pork Ribeye and she said it was very good. Today (September 2, 2025) I visited for the first time in a few months. I ordered the fish and chips, like I have many times in the past. The last time I ordered them, and every time before, I received 2 HUGE thick pieces of Fish that honestly covered the plate - they had always been that way, with a perfect crust. This time, I got two small thin peices of FISH - little to no seasoning and the rest of the plate was french fries - a huge amount of french fries. with a tiny container of coleslaw. The coleslaw used to be good too - this time, it was absolutely tasteless - no tanginess at all. It just was tasteless. My friend thought her coleslaw had a medicinal taste to it. It's almost as though you are paying $17.00 for French Fries because at least for me, THAT was 90% of my dish. THIS restaurant has the best location around - and that is great - but management and the decision makers are wasting all of the positives. They tried to tell me that they are not using a different type of Fish and it's the same as it has always been - and that is pattonly untrue. I used to love coming to this restaurant. I wish I could still say the same thing - but I honestly cannot. If you like being charged for a huge plate of French Fries and little else - you'll love it here. I really HOPE they hire better management who will be honest with their customers, and stop substituting cheaper products in place of what they used to have, all the while telling them "nothings changed". Came here with my sister and hubby after watching Spider-Man No Way Home! We shared a few apps. Crab cakes were tasty! The popcorn shrimp was too much breading with little shrimp. I love this place. I have been here before once but am reviewing based off my experience from yesterday. We sat outside near the dock area under a shade. The server was nice and attentive even though we had a larger and distracted party. The music was nice, the weather was perfect. Food came out and was very tasty. Overall I really enjoyed the views and atmosphere the most, but everything else was great too. I tried the popcorn shrimp with the white spicy sauce but it was not spicy in my opinion. First timers! What a view. This place is for everybody and whatever type of vibe you are feeling. There is seating and ton outside widening along the river shoreline. It goes on for days. The servers from the host to the waitress were very welcoming, friendly and in great moods welcomed us in and farewell out. The waitress was nice, smiled, and knowledgeable of the menu. She was very attentive and checked in. The flow from start to finish was great. We order blacken mahi sandwiches and came with French fries and a pickle spear. Very fresh, flavorful and presentation was good. the portions are large. Ordered a new dessert raspberry cheesecake with whipped cream top and the side. good portion, room temperature and fresh. I used to come here a few years ago - they have completely remodeled the outside seating area. A beautiful place to stop at if in Melbourne. Waterfront, and a live band. Good drinks, and good food. I love using Groupon to discover new restaurants worth returning to. We purchased a Groupon for Pineda Inn Bar & Grill based on its water view and will likely not return based on service alone during lunch on 4/13/19. Pros: - The outdoor seating was incredible. While it was a hot day, there was plenty of shade to sit outside comfortably. - The food was decent. My blackened mahi mahi was cooked well, my mixed veggies were over cooked my beans and rice were delicious. According to my girlfriend, her quesadilla was "so-so." Cons: - Our server could barely tolerate us throughout our visit despite only having one other couple to attend to. Most thank you's were left with silence and minimal eye contact was made. We let her know in advance that we had a Groupon voucher. Upon requesting the check, she informed us that she would let us redeem the voucher this time but that the Groupon was only valid inside; "it's in the fine print." I re-read the fine print which says nothing about being valid inside only. It does, however, mention "at restaurant only" which sounds like "no take-out orders" to me. Bottom line, if anyone would like to recommend any local water view restaurants with better service, feel free to PM me. read more

We asked google for the top pet friendly restaurants in our area. We got to Pineda Inn and seated ourselves outside as no one was at the entrance to greet us. Our waitress came and took our drink order. We had our well-behaved golden retriever with us. She then proceeded to tell us that dogs were not welcome, but to just keep him quiet and under the table. We waited quite a while for our soup and salad. When I asked her if it would be much longer, she said that it was ready and she would bring it to us. The soup was lukewarm and the salad was boring. When we asked for our check, she presented us with the total on her pin pad device. When I asked if we could see the itemization on the bill, she was a bit put out. I don't write very many reviews but this time I have to because the experience was so horrific. My boyfriend and I just went there to grab a bite to eat and a cocktail. It is a beautiful afternoon and we wanted to sit outside on the back patio overlooking the river. An extremely rude server came over and promptly told us we are not allowed to eat at the ledge overlookbig the water. Even though it's plenty wide and they have seats there. Ok, that's fine if those are the rules. We got up and went to the hostess stand outside and asked the two hostesses for a table. Mind you, the place was completely empty and now I know why. They both stood there like deer in the headlights trying to figure this out. I walked over to see what was takimg so long. They then said it's up to the server if you can eat there or not. At this point the ONE other person eating on the patio walks up to say he's been sitting there for 15 minutes and no server had been by yet. We then said this isn't going to end well if we stay so we decided to make our exit. As we are waking away one of the rude incompetent hostess says "That was f****** rude"! Excuse me WHAT? WE are rude for deciding to leave because you and your servers were completely incompetent? I have never in all my years had a hostess be so obnoxious. I wanted to walk in and tell the manager but my bf said to let it go and karma will work it's magic. I would highly recommend avoiding this place like the plague. The Pineda Inn has always been my favorite local spot when I'm in town visiting my family! Their mahi sandwich beats ANY other local competitor, hands down!! All of their food is so fresh, and the portions are big! Being a clam chowder connoisseur, and having tried numerous variations all over New England, I am quite impressed with the authenticity of the chowder here! The beer selection is perfect for sitting out on the deck on the River, and the mixed drinks are strong, large and not overly sweet like so many other places just up the road! Most recently, we arrived for a celebration of life family get together on a Sunday night around 7pm, and found that only one server/bartender was working, which was Trish, who ended up being an absolute angel of a human being! Some of our family was frustrated with the situation and was less than patient with her and she handled everyone with such grace and genuine kindness! She took on all 20ish of us, and not one single check was wrong, and not a one of us ever spent time waiting for anything. This is the same level of service I have encountered each time I've been here, and I can't say enough about this place! My advice, skip the "other guys" to the north and south and post up on the patio here, enjoy the live music, the hidden cabana or secluded tables along the tropical walkway and you'll feel like you're in your own little paradise! read more

This place is pretty close to where I live so it's very easy to get there. Gave it a try and was ripped off by the waitress for overcharging me by $20. I thought I made a mistake calculating my bill but it wasn't until I got home and looked over their menu and my bill that I confirmed I had been cheated. So the food is OK but beware of the help there. We felt very cheated. Might go back someday but will be watching the billing very closely. I recommend you do the same. read more
