Had a fabulous dinner at Bunky's. Started off with oysters that were fresh and meaty. The fired calamari was good but a bit too much breading. The seafood gumbo was delicious as was the she crab soup not shown. The blackened fish tacos were very good as was the grilled fish special of the day. There was also a crab cake sandwich not shown that I was told was good. . The Ahi Tuna BLT in my opinion was the best meal of the evening. So good with the crispy bacon, fresh perfectly cooked Ahi tuna and seasoned just right. I would order this again and again. The homemade key lime pie I was also told was good but the fresh chocolate chips were spot on. I just wished they would have come out a little warmer but that's my way of eating them not everyone's. Service was super friendly. Great looking happy hour with discounted menu including some drinks. If I lived here this place would be my regular stop. My husband and I had such a great experience at Bunky's Raw Bar and Grill! From the moment we walked in, the host greeted us warmly and even complimented my dress, which was such a nice touch. Our waitress, Angela, was incredibly welcoming and made us feel right at home. She told us about the oysters and the catch of the day and was just so sweet and attentive throughout our meal. For food, I ordered the Catch #2 platter blackened along with six oysters, and my husband had the Ahi Tuna BLT. Everything was absolutely delicious and clearly fresh. The oysters were great, and the blackened platter was perfectly cooked. My husband loved his sandwich as well. What really stood out was the staff. Everyone was hustling, working hard, and still being genuinely kind and friendly. You can tell the team really cares about the experience they give their guests. This place is 5 stars because it delivers on exactly what they promise: high quality seafood in a beachy sports bar atmosphere. Pricing is typical and portions are very generous. While in town for my daughter's bridal shower, we were staying nearby and looking for a good place to eat. After checking Yelp, we decided to give Bunky's a try--and we're so glad we did! From the outside, it looks like a corner spot in a strip mall, but inside it has the feel of a sports bar with high-end seafood. The atmosphere, food, and service did not disappoint. The drinks were great and always flowing. We ordered three appetizers and our mains, and everything was excellent. It was a sad basic double cheeseburger with zero toppings, looking lonely, sans garni on the plate. Hardly a burger worthy of the name, won't be ordering that again. Servers are all top notch A+. This place was awesome! We were only in town for a couple days and went there twice. First night we got oysters, crab claw and fish & chips . We are out of towners and our cousins recommended we come here... Definitely a casual bar/restaurant-known for their seafood. Sports bar vibe. Parking was difficult (on a Tuesday night) they share a lot with Ichabods Bar & Grille maybe that's why? We were meeting another couple who arrived early and they ordered a couple appetizers, buffalo chicken dip and fried oysters. Took almost an hour for them to come out. Ridiculous! We also ordered a cup of clam chowder and a cup of gumbo soup and those took about a half hour to come out! Ridiculous! Our dinners were tasty, my husband loved the seafood pasta but absolutely positively not worth $40. I had the Mango Mahi bowl which was really good however the cook/chef overcooked the fish! Such a bummer- ruined a great piece of fish, the plantains were bomb!! Our server was really nice but seemed a little overwhelmed and the couple times we asked for something she seemed slightly annoyed. I'm not usually in Melbourne, but happened to be staying at the beach for a night with some family. We chose Bunky's Raw Bar& Grill as our dinner destination purely on the name as we all love oysters. We called ahead and they said it would be about a 15 minute wait, which was not an issue. We arrived checked in for our table and the wait time had grew to 35 minutes. ( in a small beach town you have to expect a decent wait time) it took about 45 minutes to get our table which was expected. We were sat near the entrance which I would have liked to not be in the path of everyone entering and leaving the restaurant but wasn't a deal breaker. Our server was very friendly. I don't recall her name. We started with cocktails and appetizers which were all perfect. (Refer to pictures) and I ordered the scallops for dinner. They could have been cooked a little less but still delicious. And then they brought me out a piece of key lime pie (as it was my birthday) it was fantabulous! I have no complaints about the experience company was great. He was nearly perfect. I just ate here with a small group of us to say goodbye to a friend who is moving out of state. The food was still just as good as always. The service felt a bit off when we're there. It was a busy night so I'm not taking it too badly but just felt like our server wasn't as attentive as she could be. The prices are still the same so expect to be paying a good amount especially if it's a group of people you're taking. I'll pay a little more for quality food though. Bunky's is a family favorite of ours but mainly due to being very accommodating when dining with a big party. They have great apps - pretzel, calamari, gator tail, and the seafood gumbo. Yum! Under entrees, don't order the fish platters unless you want the smallest piece of fish that ever existed. The waitress said it was 6 ounces but truly not worth the price. Get a fish sandwich and it's much bigger piece and cheaper. Love their bowls - tuna poki bowl is a fav. Handhelds - ahi tuna blt, shrimp po boy, mahi mahi sammy, tacos... can't go wrong. Don't judge this place by the bathrooms but the mold around the sink handles in the woman's bathroom is absolutely disgusting. read more

We came here for the crab cake dinner --which my husband really enjoyed! I got the "Mango Mahi Bowl" which is under the "Greens and Grains" part of the menu. It was absolutely delicious! I got the grilled mahi blackened. The rice and black beans and avocado and the salsa were delicious with the fish. The fried plantains were perfectly freshly cooked and were nice and hot. Service was good and the food was great--for that I give 5 stars! The ambiance is that of a casual neighborhood bar with tons of TV screens, all tuned to various different channels. If this were on the water, or a more comfortable place to sit rather than a table and chairs in a bar--I'd give 5 stars. read more

I ordered the [coconut mojito] and the [whiskey thistle] mixed drinks, both were very good and well balanced in alcohol to mixer ratio. [Baja Tacos] 10/10. Perfect tacos! Savory, buttery, crispy beer batter fried fish with sweet slaw served with a tangy/zesty sauce. Very simple but amazing in taste! [Shrimp Platter]: 10/10. Perfect meal to have after hitting the beach, you can leave feeling good and satisfied. The shrimp was fresh and cooked well, the slight char from the grill added great flavor. The grilled zucchini and asparagus are always awesome! [Addon Crab Cake]: 8/10. This was very fresh and I appreciated the large chunks of crab throughout! It was not dry the only thing I would nitpick is it could have used a tad more seasoning, whether it be butter, old bay, etc. I did squeeze lemon on it and that helped. I have been to Bunky's twice in 8 years. The first time, many years ago, and it was a very BAD experience. (Hence the lack of return... until now). Everyone deserves a second chance and I am SO GLAD I gave them another try. So much so, I will be going often. The ambiance is nothing special. It's crowded and loud. It feels cramped. However... The service was very good! Our waitress was knowledgeable and kind. She was quick and attentive. What else can one ask for? I was craving oysters and seafood soup and this place had a nice selection of both. The oysters were the perfect size and temp. Not too big, nor too small. But they were plump, fresh without tasting salty or with grit. The usual sides of cocktail and horseradish were accompanied. The clam chowder was not too thick nor too thin. Lots of flavor with tons of clams that were cut into smaller chunks so that it wasn't the only flavor or texture to overwhelm the rest of the soup. Our party had a wonderful time and I can speak for us all in saying we will all be doing another's girls night there soon. read more

Came here for dinner on a Tuesday night around 6pm and it was pretty packed. We were seated right away though. Came here for the oysters and glad they had it. We ordered the sampler platter that came with 3 different oysters from Virgina, Connecticut, and Massachusetts. They were all pretty good. I think I prefer the Connecticut more. If you aren't a fan of raw oysters, the fire grilled oysters are pretty flavorful. Also, for the smoked fish dip that came with chips and veggies with sides of jalapeño, tomatoes, and onions for an extra fee. Adding the onions and jalapeños on top of the fish dip was pretty good. It gave it a kick. Get the fish dip, you won't regret it. I didn't enjoy the drink we had order, it was a bust. Staff was friendly and attentive on clearing the tables. The smash burger has so much sauce, sautéed onions, and cheese on it that it has the consistency of a mud sandwich and tastes the same. Beer pretzel appetizer OK except for the accompanying beer cheese - they just throw some Cheez-whiz in a microwave. And the real kicker: I ordered some mussels on a Monday night. Pricey - you get about 18 mussels for $23. That night I must have gotten 30...lucky me?...read on. First one was slimy, flaccid, and tasted "off". I should have sent the order back but I picked through them and probably ate a dozen. I lived in France for 6 years, so I know good mussels. These were bad. The garlic they were served with was the diced garlic that comes in a jar - tasteless, not like fresh, chopped garlic. Not at all impressed. Fast forward to Wednesday morning - severe diarrhea, nausea and vomiting. How do I know it was the mussels? My friend with me Monday night ate 7-8 of my mussels - same thing with him, severe food poisoning - diarrhea, nausea, and vomiting. I had to go to Urgent Care and was admitted to the hospital with an intestinal blockage. I spent four days in the hospital and I'm still not fully recovered. Because of the larger than usual order, I think they had a bunch of mussels left over from the week end, threw them in a cooler, and then flogged them on a customer (me) on Monday just to cut corners and make a quick buck. So, if you'd like to lose some weight fast at the expense of severe food poisoning, I'd recommend eating at Bunky's. I won't, ever again. read more

While visiting the area, we found this option on Yelp and decided to give it a try. So glad we did. They don't take reservations and were pretty busy on a Saturday night. It took about thirty minutes to get a table, but they call you when it is ready. Very casual and kind of noisy. They have a wide variety of choices on the menu from raw bar, seafood, and wings. Our server, Annabelle, was amazing! She was knowledgeable, sweet, and very attentive. Actually, she made our dinner much more enjoyable. We ordered raw oysters, fried gator tail, boneless wings, and seared tuna. The food was all really good but I have to say the seared tuna was the star. Very generous portion and perfectly cooked. I would come back just for this. The gator was surprisingly tender, and I loved it with the honey mustard sauce. Prices were reasonable, food was good, and service was stellar. Very expensive & the seafood is very average. Many restaurants are now treating eating out as a luxury and a luxury experience. For the money, it's hard to beat Texas Roadhouse or simply going to Sam's Club and Costco and cooking at home. There's an upcharge on everything at Bunky's and very similar to their other corporate locations at Charlies and Jakes's and Masa. The whole model is teetering on bankruptcy in my view due to mismanagement by Amy Barnum and owner Collin. read more
