I think the more things change, the more they stay the same, and nothing wrong with THAT! My dad told me about this place in 1987. I first went in 2001. Haven't been back since 2008. And it's still freaking fantastic!! There are three levels to the Hurricane: the rooftop (credit card only), the second level (wasn't open when we were there) and the deck. You can see some great sunsets from the rooftop. The food is phenomenal. I remember once going and eating like 4 lbs of shrimp with a group of people! I probably ate a pound myself. Their blackened shrimp was great over salad. And even my landlubber husband had some good seafood! The only issue is parking. It's all street, but we had to walk a bit to get there. Not terribly far though! Cannot wait to return even if just for another sunset.

Everything! We gave our server, Lisa, a run for her money. We moved from inside to outside because of the sun in the wind. I had the. Blue crab, tater tots, out of this world, hubby had gator bite Steez, the best , Eddie had the ultimate burger, and Luann had nothing, just sampling a little bit of everything. Service was the best, oh I forgot to tell you about the espresso martini with the bartender, Aaron, came out to make sure I liked it as I don't like sweet drinks. The first time here and not our last. The service and the food cannot be beat !

The Hurricane seafood restaurant was a great spot to come grab a bite and watch the sunset over the gorgeous pass a grille Saint Pete Beach area. The service was nice and friendly, and the prices were very affordable. I got the blue crab tots and I was a little bit disappointed because the crab was not very hot and neither were the tots and there was a very low crab to tots ratio, so if you're in it for the protein, don't go for that. I was in it for the crab because I love blue crab meat, but there just wasn't much of it at all. Other than that, the drinks were delicious and delightful and the sunset was right in front of our table so that was beautiful.

Been a while since I have reviewed this place so I thought I would update it as things have changed. Biggest change at least since we have been here is that they serve food till 830! That's nice even if you some munchies. Kay our bartender was super nice and made and poured what we wanted. We decided to grab some apps. Grouper nuggets and boom boom shrimp were both delicious and delivered pretty quick. Still a really great spot for the sunset!

Pass-a-Grille is one of my favorite beaches. When I lived in St. Petersburg I was frequently at this beach. It has amazing views a laid-back feeling, great parking and it's not crowded. I love to come to the hurricane rooftop bar to get a drink, sometimes watch a game and to watch the sunset. It never disappoints the bartenders are always on their game, fun, friendly I just do it all around great job of serving. The appetizers are always spot on this day we got the tuna tartareAs well as the seafood dip and it was fabulous as usual.

Giving this place a five stars. Excellent beach bar, with more importantly an excellent rooftop view of the gorgeous pass-a-grille beach. My wife and I couldn't find a parking spot to go to the beach if our lives depended on it, so we said forget it, let's go to hurricane rooftop. Great decision, they have their own parking lot behind their establishment, went smoothly. Special shout-out to Tiffany, the rooftop bartender-she was excellent!

The Hurricane is kind of one of those St Pete secrets. If you're quick you can enjoy the sunset from the beach, run upstairs and get a second look at it. The rooftop bar is an excellent place to enjoy a sunset or just a nice view of the beach and whatever nonsense is going on on the water today.

This place has the coolest architecture. It has 4-5 different floors you can choose from, though I'd certainly recommend the top floor. Absolutely stunning rooftop views of the ocean. It's definitely the highest rooftop bar in the area and gets rowdy at night, but relaxing during the day. Even if it's raining, I'd still recommend going to check out the roof because most of it is covered. It's definitely great for very large groups (you can also rent out half the upstairs bar for private events if you want to). Staff are funny and friendly as well. I will say, the service is fairly slow, but we're on Florida/beach time, so I get it. They have $5 beers, so it's a very good price point given the great views. We didn't have any food when we came here, but it looked great. Most people were doing takeout and then heading over to the beach. You can park right across the street and use the beach parking, however you need to pay via the meter. Would overall recommend if you're looking for a local watering hole with views.

What a view! Really neat place to have a drink, snack, or dinner. We went around lunchtime and had drinks and snacks. The downfall is that the menu is different from the one downstairs and when the sun is beating down, many of the tables and bar will literally burn you if you sit at them. Thankfully, some people were leaving and we were able to grab their shady spot. Nice breeze. Good food. I really liked it. I definitely recommend checking it out.

Visited this place for the first time recently and absolutely loved it! Perfect place to hang out for a few hours, enjoying some delicious drinks and basking in the beautiful view of the beach. The bartenders on the rooftop were friendly and helpful with suggestions. Their drinks were also delicious! I started with a margarita and then moved on to a piña colada. Both were fantastic. The food was so good! We started with the Peel & Eat Shrimp which was fresh and flavorful. Then we had the Grouper Sandwich with fries. It comes with a delicious tartar sauce that compliments the fish perfectly. The burgers also looked pretty good so I'm eager to go back and try those. The tables are spaced out to ensure social distancing and the bartenders wipe down the tables after each party leaves. Can't wait to come back and relax here again soon!

I've been coming here for over 20 years and hope to come here for 20 more! It's a great place to meet up with friends or to take out of town guests. Awesome place to watch the sunset and have a few drinks.

SOLID 5 STARS! My…read moreniece, Laura, and her partner, Rich, are visiting from Chicago. She wanted a restaurant with outdoor seating, a view of the water, an excellent wine list, fine dining selections, AND open on a Monday night. I cried for Help from Yelp. 82 Degrees nailed all 5 criteria. At 6:15pm We were able to make an on-line reservation for three people for 6:30pm. Be careful to only park in spots designated for the restaurant or you will be towed. You can't miss the parking signs because they are plastered on every parking spot. We arrived and were immediately shown to a choice rooftop table just in time to enjoy a fine view of the sunset on the Gulf. After the sun set the bartender asked the diners at the dozen or so tables if they wanted the huge glass windows closed, and since it was starting to get chilly everyone agreed. My niece is very knowledgeable about wine, so she took charge of the wine list. After discussing the (Admittedly small, but well selected) list with the sommelier Laura chose the Iron + Sand Cabernet Sauvignon, a well-regarded, bold red wine from Paso Robles, California (4.8 Stars rating, I looked it up). She must have liked it, because she drank two glasses. Later on, she ordered a Pinot Grigio to go with her entree but I've forgotten the name. She also chose specialty drinks for Rich and I that were tasty and had a nice kick to them, but I don't remember their names either. I would have taken a picture of the drinks menu but my niece wouldn't let go of the list! (Which also meant we couldn't see the prices either, but like the saying goes: If you have to ask, you can't afford it!) It took us a while to study the menu. Just like the wine list, the menu has limited selections but offers excellent choices. It was hard to make a decision! We started off sharing Crab Cakes ($18) and Lobster Bruschetta ($21) appetizers, and we also shared an order of the Lobster Bisque ($15). All three of us agreed that the appetizers were yummy, but the Lobster Bisque was worth the trip all by itself! For my entree I ordered the Wild Caught Snapper with mango pineapple salsa and broccolini ($36) and Truffle Fries ($9). Rich went with the Grouper BLT ($26) and Laura chose the Parmesan Cream Pasta ($26) (Which was why she needed a white wine to go with her entree). Portions did not appear to be large, yet none of us were able to finish our entrees, leaving plenty for Rich and Laura to take home in biodegradable containers for a midnight snack. I'm sorry I wasn't quick enough to get pictures of the entrees. Rich and Laura are not used to snapping pics before digging in, but I can tell you they were all well presented. Even though we were all full, we couldn't resist sharing a slice of: SALTED CARAMEL BUTTERFINGER CHOCOLATE CHEESECAKE!!! ($12). Just the name tells you everything you need to know. While Rich and I were dueling with our forks, Laura swooped in and ate most of the dessert, which is totally unfair but is a legitimate female perk so there was nothing we could do. Next time we'll order more than one slice! Our perky waitress was extremely busy serving everyone but managed to keep the entire restaurant happy with her service. I don't think I saw her standing still for more than a couple seconds. Didn't get her name, either, but I'm sure the excellent tip told her we were pleased.

Parking is minimum $50 a day + fees. A cocktail? For an hour? Haha no. I'm being mildly disingenuous. The bar staff (and likely restaurant staff) will give you a QR code to validate all $58 of your parking. But it made me acutely miss a time when you could just park and patronize an establishment. Just don't forget to validate your parking, cuz they sure didn't ask preemptively. They were celebrating a 3-day grand reopening when we went on Saturday. There was *one* artisan in their market space. The music was pumping loud enough to not be able to converse. Although it drew a crowd of younger folks, there was not much to behold from the "grand" reopening. Not even s cost of paint. The beach bar may not have been part of the sprucing up idk, I didn't see anything worth celebrating. I meant to look at the size of the cocktail cup that we got (small), but $13-14 for a cocktail is highway robbery for the end result. And $18 for 6 wings ($3 a wing) was a little disappointing. I expected better of a Hilton adjoined restaurant. No one part was terrible. It was just the way they matched up - loud, expensive, small portions. If you're loud maybe you're cheap and tasty. If you're expensive, maybe you're fast and delicious. This was all the worst parts of a bar that doesn't care about its patrons' economics. A bar that wants to serve tourists with mediocrity and move on to the next crop of people who will never be there again. If you're a tourist it'll probably be fine, if overpriced. If you're a local, don't bother. To be fair, we should ask if there was anything good. hm ... no. We won't be returning. 3 stars is probably generous.

They're related to the excellent Agave restaurant two doors down in the same building, so certain Agave food items are available here. In any case, I stopped in for some drinks recently and loved everything. I started with their Oaxaca Old Fashioned, which is an orange-tasting mix of tequila, mezcal and bitters. Moved on to The Don; a great margarita. Finally, feeling the need to step it up, I asked for a recommendation on a reasonably priced smooth tequila to sip; the recommended Padre Azul anejo was exactly what I was looking for. The interior has more of a lounge vibe than a bar; lots of group seating areas, a pool table, chess, etc. Now, my six months later update to my original review; I've since ventured into the world of mezcal, and love coming here to find random new mezcals they get in. Mezcal is also produced from the agave plant, but unlike tequila, generally can't be produced in anywhere near the volume, so you aren't going to find it receiving the same attention tequila does, since no distiller could generate enough to keep up with the demand an advertising campaign would bring. I've found I really enjoy a smoky mezcal, straight up or even for an upgraded margarita, and many of the mezcals they serve here can also be purchased in bottle form at the liquor store next door (a family member of the owner owns that store).
