I took my wedding dress there and the girl working didn't charge me for a wedding dress. but they waited almost a week to call me to tell me that I needed to pay another $70. but when I took my dress in I said wedding dress probably 10 times, I even took the dress out showed her the stains on it, and the bag said bridal in huge black letters. The lady who called was unprofessional and rude. and was using some crude language. when I tried explaining to her that it was a mistake on their end, not on mine she started yelling at me. WARNING! Do not patronize this establishment. They charge for work not done and the work, if done, is shoddy. They do not stand behind any of their services. Took two dirty pillows in to be cleaned and got them back covered in mold. When I asked what happened, the young man, I am assuming the owner's son, said to me what did I expect ... "they were dirty when you brought them in". Arrogant, non-caring and totally devoid of any accountability for the work that they do. In addition, I took a jacket in for cleaning and to have a patch for work sewn on and was promised it would be ready on a certain day. I would not recommend this dry cleaners to anyone. took 2 sweaters in to be cleaned, only came home with one. the owner tried to tell me I didn't bring in 2 which I know that I did, as the one missing I had worn the night before and was my favorite, also cost me $100.00 , so needless to say I'm very disappointed. The lady would not look for it in the back, kept telling it wasn't there. The sweater either made into another customers cleaning or was ruined or she stole it. Not ever again! One shy twice burned! First Time: Earlier this year I took a coat in to have it cleaned before a trip. Went in to pick it up on Saturday before leaving the area and they were closed. Saturday hours posted clearly on the door. Waited and called or over 3 hours, no answer, no one there. Left for the trip without it. Called on Monday and the woman acted like nothing had happened "said, ohhh...we may have opened a little late". Ugh. Second and last time: They put my very expensive LL Bean leather parka in a dirty canvas clothing cart and called the wrong number to give me a price to have it cleaned. The person who answered the phone number they called said she wouldn't pay to have the coat cleaned. Of course she wouldn't, he wasn't her coat! They had put the coat in on the wrong person! So my nice coat sat in dirty incoming laundry cart for 3 weeks! I took the wrinkled, smelly coat and walked out. NEVER TO RETURN. I am posting everywhere I can to warn people Use this dry cleaners at your own risk, which is extremely high. I even called the Hurricane City Offices to let them know not to refer new comers to our area to this unproffessional, uncaring, ridiculous place of business. Its very sad as its the only dry cleaner in the area but I'll drive to Washington or St. George before I use them again. read more

I showed up at the shop to pick up my dry cleaning. I was there during regular business hours, but they were closed. There were no signs up saying they would be closed. I tried calling the phone, but there was no answer. Neither was there a voicemail set up. My husband needed his suit by this weekend, so I honestly don't know what to do at this point. We live in a small town over an hour away so going back later isn't an option. read more

I took a dress shirt for them to dry clean and was told they do not dry clean cotton or cotton blend shirts which I never heard of at any dry cleaner before so I asked what do they do for this type of shirt. She said we wash and press so I asked them to make sure the stains on it were taken care of. They give me back the shirt with the stains still there and appearing untouched and was told they can not remove these stains despite the fact they were mere coffee stains. I took the shirt to Malibu Cleaners in Washington and the stains were removed. I will no longer take any clothing to these cheats and Malibu Cleaners now has my business and referrals. read more

I have been taking LOTS of dry cleaning to these folks since they opened years ago. Of the hundreds of dry cleaning and shirt laundry they have done, perhaps 5% have had a problem. They take off leather or other non-cleaning buttons to clean the item and then sew them back on. They do all kinds of special treatment to specific fabrics. The only suggestion I would make is to ALWAYS explain what you want done to an item, such as: center pleat in pants, show them special buttons, how you want something packaged (sweater hung folded on hanger). They are the only game in town but they are really careful if you work with them. read more

I have been using Hurricane Valley Dry Cleaners for eight years. Dry cleaning has been very good, however, I have been frustrated with the tailoring service. Just about every item I have taken (shortening pants, sawing pockets, and other minor repairs) have ended on a negative note. I want to clarify, it is not that the sewing was bad, it is the fact that items got lost and/or seldom finished on time. The lady who runs the shop is very nice, but becomes extremely defensive if one challenges her reason (excuse) for not having the item ready. The shop lost one pair of pants (which never reappeared), and although I was reimbursed for the item and alteration, I had to go through the inconvenience of checking every 2-3 days to see if they had found them, and ultimately had to make time to buy a new pair. A pair of shorts that my husband took in, went missing for months, but again, the lady kept telling us she had had them repaired and the reason why the shorts were not found was because we had already picked them up. When the shorts reappeared, she called and left us a message. No apologies. This attitude shows poor customer service training; it leads to customer dissatisfaction, and so, when it comes to tailoring, I am out. read more

In the past they have given me wonderful service with dry cleaning and tailoring but on my recent visit I took in a coat I received as a Christmas present and needed some tailoring to shorten the sleeves and belt. I told the lady exactly what I wanted done and she used a machine to tag exactly where the hem should go. When I went to pick it up the tailor had taken it upon himself to move the other embellishments up the sleeve of the coat (which I did not ask for and did not want moved which is why I did not ask them to move those things) higher up the coat which left several small holes in the fabric (about 24 in 3 different places on each sleeve) that ruined the look of the coat and it now appeared tacky and old instead of new. I explained all of this to the tailor, which I believe is the owner, and asked him to try to work with me seeing as he ruined a new coat I only wore 3 times. I asked him to try dry cleaning the coat and see if the holes whould dissapear with the washing of the fabric and he agreed. When I went back a week later to get the coat I examined the sleeves and nothing had changed so I assumed it didn't work. Then as I looked close I could see that he didn't even try to fix it and it was still dirty and had not been cleaned. I feel like I have tried to work with them to come up with a satisfactory solution for both of us and they have just shined me on. I am very dissapointed to have received such poor customer service from a business I valued. Even though I am sure I could still get good service from them I will not use them again because I no longer trust them to be honorable and put the customer first. read more
