There is limited parking in the lot attached to the restaurant. There is street parking available. We made reservations several days in advance, if you want in the dining area, reserve farther in advance. The service was excellent and they were very mindful of food allergies. We were in the bar high top down stairs. It was a little warm down there, this really my only complaint. The food was fantastic and while some portion was small, you won't leave hungry. We had several discusses. The root vegetables were good, my steak was fantastic and my husband got the trout and we were both very happy with our food. It is slow dining so don't be in a rush and come in with a limited time available. Enjoy!
Outstanding! From the atmosphere to the food and great service, this is one of the best restaurants I've been to. The restaurant is in a remodeled house and is very charming. We had a reservation and were greeted by the friendly hostess and promptly seated. Our server was friendly and attentive. Cocktails were great. We had the Fried Carolina Gold Rice appetizer which was delicious. We both ordered the chicken dish which was juicy and had a nice sauce. The cornbread was also excellent. Overall a fantastic restaurant and I would highly recommend Husk.
We stopped in for dinner on November 2, 2025--our first visit to Husk's Nashville location. We made a point to dine here after having an exceptional meal at their Charleston, South Carolina location a few years ago. This visit absolutely lived up to expectations. The restaurant is beautifully set in a restored 1880s-era home in the historic Rutledge neighborhood. We shared a few dishes: the Yellowfin tuna, Pimento Cheese, and Jerk Shrimp & Grits. The crisps paired with the pimento cheese were a perfect bite, the tuna was light and flavorful, and the shrimp and grits brought a rich, savory depth. Our server struck the perfect balance: friendly and attentive. Despite how busy the restaurant was, she checked in at just the right intervals, and we never felt like we were waiting on anything. Her timing and professionalism were top notch. Husk Nashville is now firmly on our must-visit list. If you haven't been, it's definitely worth checking out!
That flounder crudo! Order that! It's Delicate. Very clean. I felt like I was in a cooking show confessional. And the winter greens showed up ready to prove vegetables can, in fact, be a main. This spot is thoughtful and just upscale. A very respectable culinary moment. Service spectacular and high energy.
Very yummy and fresh!! The vibe here is so cool. The old house turned restaurant feels historic and haunted but in a good way. Like a ghost would leave you a quarter or a flower or something charming. The dim lights make it intimate and sweet and didn't fully assure me the place wasn't haunted but that's because I'm not superstitious, but I am a little stitious. Food was very fresh and yummo. We got swordfish, shrimp and grits, salad, plate of vegetables, and cornbread. I've never had swordfish and was really surprised by how much I loved it! It was very firm chicken like texture, which is a good thing to me. Flaky fish is scary to me. Hi, I'm Alyssa and I have a lot of fear. I'm also scared of bugs, birds, darkness, death, the cold, needles, blood, and trees. Don't worry, I have a standing appointment with my therapist to talk through most of them. The only negative I have, and it's not even a negative it's more of a comment, the way the acoustics of the space are there's a constant undertow of murmuring from each room. I didn't find it bad at all but if you are dining with older companions who are starting to become hard of hearing like I was, you may want to take note of that and either go earlier when it's not so busy and therefore quieter or move to a outskirt room vs a central one. My mom makes my dad wear AirPods to tune out the background noise but you have options. If you want a fresh, healthy meal in a cool spot go here!!
Husk was recommended to me by some local folks while I was staying in Nashville. First- the property is a beauty and sets the tone for some traditional yet elevated southern fare. I had the lettuce salad which was SO fresh, the leaves really didn't need much else! I had to have the biscuits, which came with a serving of 2 and were the perfect savory accompaniment to my salad. Although they did wax a bit salty toward the end. The chocolate crumb cake with banana ganache was a rich reward for finding this local gem. But : as much as I've not been an acolyte of the old fashioned, husk's version with sorghum instead of simple syrup deserves an award! There's a very impressive wine list as well. Service from Tieza at the bar was wonderful. Ambience is southern laid back elegance and there is parking on site. Walk off some calories in the lovely hilltop neighborhood afterwards.
Husk is a beautiful, eclectic restaurant that serves modern southern food with flair. It was our first time going and we booked a reservation with Resy. Their menu changes daily. The ambiance was nice. There was cute little flowers on the table with a unique lamp. Our waitress was Tara. She was so kind and sweet. She was extremely knowledgeable on the menu and recommended some great options. We ended up sharing the cheddar biscuits, a plate of vegetables, Alabama shrimp, steak, Carolina gold rice, and Mississippi catfish. We also ordered a Shiso High and a classic Amaretto Sour for our drinks. Loves: - the steak was perfectly done and super yummy. It is sold at market price and was a bit expensive but it was my favorite - Amaretto sour was superb Likes but not a must: - Alabama shrimp. It had a bit of spice so it wouldn't work with everyone's palate -Carolina fried rice. It was very unique. I'm not a fan of sweet appetizers so that was a new one for me -Cheddar biscuits -Mississippi catfish. It was their take on pan fried fish and grits. Definitely would not get again: -a plate of vegetables
3.9 stars.... preposterous! This was probably the most fantastic meal I've had in a while. maybe a bit of the vacation magic helped a bit but. Fantastic service, food, and atmosphere. I was also absolutely blown away by dessert. The pâtissier is such a cheerful, nice, and incredibly talented person. Don't skip dessert. I sat at the bar as I was dining alone. Adam and Kevin were amazing. They knew every single item on the menu pretty much. and when I really think about it.... there were only two items on the menu that really stood out to me so I guess they really did the heavy lifting of the meal with their knowledge of each specific ingredient that I had questions about. I told them that I came directly from Jack Daniel's distillery in Lynchburg and they told me that the pork that they use in the Fried Carolina Gold app and Bear Creek Heritage Pork is raised with the spent grain from Jack Daniel's which I think is pretty cool to up-cycle ingredients. They immediately sold me on those dishes. Everything I got: *Give Up The Ghost (cocktail pls reference pic of menu for ingredients) *Husk Old-Fashioned (cocktail) *Late Embers Sunchoke Liqueur *Ritual Sister Smoked Pineapple Liqueur *Murder Point Oysters on the half shell *Fried Carolina Gold Rice *Bear Creek Heritage Pork *Noble Spring Chereve Mousse Both cocktails that I got were amazingly crafted but I think I go about picking cocktails the wrong way... I tend to see a few ingredients that catch my eye but then when they're not front and center I get a little disappointed? I recall enjoying the give up the ghost but It wasn't jasmine-y or yuzu-ey enough for me. It was probably really well balanced but not entirely memorable. The Husk Old Fashioned was probably a really well crafted old fashioned... maybe the best old fashioned i've ever had, but I think maybe the food just kinda out shined it / stole the spotlight. Both Liqueurs that I tried blew me away... the sunchoke was super interesting and the smoked pineapple was actually really good. Really thankful that I got to try them. The murder point oysters were okay... habanada? Is apparently a habanero bred without the heat. I wished the flavor was a little stronger on that. I guess I probably could have asked for extra sauce but didn't think about it... they probably would have accommodated too. Dang it. I also didn't really feel like the juniper came through. The carolina gold was GOLD. Holy heck, was not expecting the pork belly to be a juicy, silky, smooth, soft as sin piece of pork. It felt like.... Just pure pork fat honestly. But it was heavenly. Like... the most perfectly sous vided piece of fat. Idk if it's just my imagination or if i'm misremembering but the pork itself was cold? While the carolina gold.... Croquette? Not sure what to call it. Was piping hot. The contrast was spectacular. The sweet and spicy from the BBQ sauce and pepper jelly did wonders and idk. It really just hit. I'm not even sure why. Maybe because I wanted to like the dish because of the Jack Daniels connection. Probably because of all the contrasting sensations and textures + the crunch of the deep fried rice. Despite that, I wasn't a big fan of the pork cutlet kinda thing. The base came with some kale pesto and some charred kale... golden beets, topped with a macha salsa and some peanuts. I think that the kale pesto kinda threw off the dish and didn't quite work the way it was envisioned perhaps. The pork itself.... Was leagues below the previous dish. It's hard to imagine it came from the same hog or even same farm? I typically like macha... and don't get me wrong, this sauce was good but perhaps just wasn't feeling it with the pesto. THE DESSERT. I almost passed on this but i'm SO GLAD I DIDN'T. Noble Spring Chereve Mousse with maple, chestnut, and compressed pear. I can't stop talking about this dish. I took the first spoonful with the first pear and I felt like I was shot to heaven. It was the juiciest, most surreal bite of fruit that I've ever felt in my life. There was a crunch that felt like maybe it was slightly frozen but also bursting with juices like... crunchy boba almost or something idk wtf. I was prepared not to enjoy it as I'm not the biggest fan of chevre but it was balanced perfectly with the chestnut. Not too tart. Not too sweet. The maple granola? Ish on top provided a nice extra, different type of crunch. Actually not sweet at all. The granola complemented it perfectly by serving as the sweetener. I thought the dish only came with five pieces of pear. Imagine my joy when I dug deeper into the bowl and there was plenty. Good lord. I got the faintest hint of jasmine? From the pear... or something. I didn't know what it was but I got a chance to speak to pastry afterwards and she told me she used apple cider vinegar, OJ, and.... Orange blossom extract? Genius. I love that the menus are DATED....... I have an entire two more paragraphs but I fear I'm over the 5000 character limit.
Visited the Husk in Charleston SC on a weekend trip; among many meals we had it emerged as our favorite. So when we found out there is a Husk in Nashville, we booked dinner right away. The feel and quality is just as wonderful here. The location somehow balances historic, modern and fresh with homey, rustic and welcoming. The polished, friendly and professional staff emits a vibe of authentic pride in the quality of the menu, food and experience. The menu is streamlined, focused on local and seasonal, and there's something for everyone. Not cheap, but well worth the price. The two of us each had two cocktails, a starter and main course- $220 before tip. We loved every bite; highly recommend the oysters, cheddar biscuits, and their take on shrimp and grits. Everything is made on premises, and beautifully presented. Husk is a winner
This is the second time we have been to Husk. The first time we went for Brunch an it was fabled and this time for dinner it did not disappoint! We sat at a the table top bar and it was a beautiful high bench table top. Our server was Kyle and he was the best! The food was amazing! This place is a 10/10!!
Came to Husk to celebrate an anniversary with my always picky but otherwise lovely wife. I had been wanting to bring her here for years but rotating seasonal menus often are not Sarah approved so I had her peep the menu weeks in advance & she gave it the thumbs up finally! We came hungry & ordered a variety of things as recommended by our stellar server Matt, who is a seasoned Nashville food scene veteran & made our visit all the more wonderful. We started with the savory cream puff, biscuits, & ham. For our mains we went with the Pork, chicken, & vegetable plate. Everything was delicious & Matt made sure to mention how it was all crafted for us as he dropped it off. The vegetable plate was honestly the most surprising & prob favorite item of ours as it was so varied. We didn't even have room to order dessert & wound up taking some leftovers home. All in all, a great dinner for a special occasion & I look forward to coming back more often now that Husk has helped to soften my wife's hard picky eating heart.
My wife and I flew into Nashville to visit our daughters and their families on Mother's Day. I chose Husk for the first time with the expectation to have a fresh, farm to table experience. I had a last minute change to our reservation the day before and the staff was very accommodating. When we arrived at 4:50 pm it was pouring rain and we were crammed in the entryway with several other people. At 4:55 there was no more standing room, and unfortunately the the receptionist insisted she could not seat anyone until 5pm when they "open." Once seated, we saw the restaurant was clean and appeared well prepared for service. We had a party of 8 with 2 small children. Our server was patient and accommodating. When I dine, ambiance & service are nice finishings, but I will often excuse either or both when the food is really good. The food will usually determine whether I go back or not. It's not in this case! We ordered 5 small plates to share and each person ordered separate entree. I would break down each app and entree but it will be easier just to summarize. The food across the board was either way over salted or had no flavor at all. My whole party felt the same, with one exception, the pimento cheese was very good. For example, the pork dish pictured on the blue plate, was over salted and the chimichurri was so overpowering I couldn't even taste the pork, even after I scraped the chimichurri off. Other than the Bass, the portions were smaller than I expected as well. Small portions, especially the Apps, and poor flavor. Food was overall subpar and did not meet our expectations, especially for what we believed was a high end dining experience. To be completely fair, I did not bring our concerns about the food to staff, so I did not allow them to correct anything. I typically will not return food to a kitchen, nor do I complain to management. For me it is like a first impression, you get one shot and an impression is made. For Husk, I will pass, no thank you.
Everything about this experience was special, detail-oriented and on point. It's so refreshing to encounter people who care and who bring it! From the moment we stepped in, we were greeted warmly and seated promptly. Our server was cordial and the perfect mix of being conversational without being intrusive. All aspects of the service were stellar. Courses served in perfect timing, things were brought without ever having to ask, and there was incredible attention paid to the diners. The food is equally stellar. From crafted cocktails to appetizers (alligator-pork meatballs and pigs' ears lettuce wraps), mains (trout and bass) and the vegetable sides, everything had that wow factor -- my husband and I were sharing bites constantly because it was all so delicious. It's been over a week now and that trout and a few of those vegetable sides are still making my mouth water. Is it pricey? Without a doubt, but it's an experience we won't soon forget. When I think of all the money I've spent in mediocre joints over the years, I realized that Husk is worth every single penny of that final bill. If you are visiting Nashville or live there and haven't been yet, go, you won't regret it.

I've seen this place on the teevee and the magazines for years now and thought, "NEAT!", so I made a reservation (highly advisable) and drove east on I-40 for ~5 hours. I rolled up with minutes to spare. While I was driving, I got texts from Husk to 1. Confirm my reservation and 2. To see if I preferred to sit at the bar or have a table. What a nice touch! My being a solo-diner probably had something to do with it. Regardless, it is nice to have the option. So, they're finessing me before I even get there! I roll up and my table is ready. From start to finish - everything is PERFECT. My server knew his shit. I narrowed my cocktails, starter, and meal to like two or three items and he would walk me through it. Like, we conversed, weighed options. He accurately gauged my tastes and helped me make informed decisions. I was there for brunch. Having donuts and coddled eggs sounds pretty ... normal. I mean, brunch is such a scam, right? But, lemme tell ya, the quality of the raw materials they use to cook this food, whew! It was certainly the best eggs I've had in a long while. Memorable, even. You probably don't say that about eggs often. Anyway, if you want to be treated well & smartly, have a solid cocktail & brunch, see the other people who are there for the same reasons you are, come here, enjoy yourself. Such a cute spot. Close to downtown but not in the thick of the highrises. This is a converted house with crazy high ceilings, each room a beautiful and different décor, plus a patio. RESERVATIONS I got reservations for two at 10:45am on a Sunday morning just the night before on Open Table! THE SERVICE Very friendly! THE COST About $50 total for 1 starter and 2 brunch plates. Great price for such excellent food! * Free bread - 4.5 stars Excellent, like Hawaiian bread, velvety soft. Loved the honey lard it came with. FIRST * Sweet potato donuts, bourbon caramel ($8) - 4 stars Nice and moist, lightly sweet flavor. BRUNCH * French Toast ($14) - 5 stars One of the best French Toast's I've had, and I order this whenever I can! Incredibly soft and eggy in the middle, plus the peanut butter between the slices were a bonus. * Country Breakfast Plate ($16) - 4.5 stars Simple and in quality. The eggs were crazy soft. My boyfriend and I have celebrated his birthday here for the last two years and stop here every year when we drive through Nashville for the holidays. So, it's safe to say it's my favorite restaurant in Nashville. Let's talk about the food. THE MUSTS: - Charcuterie & Cheddar Biscuits - Must. Just do it. - Plate of Southern Vegetables - Veggies are not my fav and Husk made me love them GREAT: - Oysters (they have different ones every time but always good) - Fried Oyster Sandwich GOOD: - NC Catfish - Ribeye Their level of service is incredible. Last year during the pandemic because we were being extra cautious we order delivery. They came back to hand-deliver (of course the appropriate COVID precautions) a specialized menu and dessert. read more

Such a tried and true great restaurant. The staff is some of the most friendly I have ever met. Every thing is so silly distanced and we felt very taken cared for in every aspect. I loved this place. Saved my taste buds. So fresh. The veggies, writing this a few weeks later makes me want to go back to Nashville! If I lived there I'd eat here several times a week which is what I did for the week I stayed in Nashville (working). Great staff... tasty food and homemade hot sauce and bourbon maple syrup to go! Tough review bc the food was really delicious. We ordered the pancake to start, I had the cheeseburger, husband had the fried steak and eggs. We did some specialty cocktails. Pancake: 4 out of 5. I would ask for more syrup. Maybe some on the side. But this was yummy! Steak and Eggs: 3 out of 5. Pretty tough meat. Bright yellow eggs which weren't as full of taste as we would have expected. The hashbrown was good that came on the side! Cheeseburger: 5 out of 5!! Delicious. I eat a lot of cheeseburgers and this one was among the best. Service: Slowwwwwwww. Drinks took forever. We were served our main course at the 1 hour mark from sitting down. Our half finished plates sat uncleared in front of us for over 5 mins. So we relocated to the bar to finish. The waiter came around our table a few times but wouldn't take our plates. Why not buddy? The bar is so cool!!! Much better music and vibe. Would def eat down here next time. Husk reminds me of West LA life. The food presentation, the decor, and the whole eat local. The best thing about arriving is seeing the big board with all the handwritten meats/produce and where each particular item comes from. It's pretty inspiring and interesting to see how much effort they put into it. The staff are very knowledgable so if you have any questions, ask away! My only pity is we overheard a table of girls that wanted gluten free and less carb. Then don't fucking eat out!!! The gross life of the gluten free ... Actually who I really feel sorry for is the chefs who have to deal with this kind of behavior and modify their delicious dishes to cater to the clientele. Hopefully it is a fad that doesn't last much longer. The meat dishes were superb. Everything was cooked perfectly, and we enjoyed the whole meal. The duck was tender and had great flavor. The shrimp n grits is definitely a must get. The flavor bomb is intense, but in a good way. Usually I am not a huge fan of 'the foam' as it rarely has any real meaning or adds to the dish that complements it, but I found the foam in the shrimp n grits to actually work well. The cornbread was explained as how they "used to make it" in the olden days. So it's a lot grittier and more like that stone wheat quality to it. It's a bit dry so if you aren't really into the mealy component of cornbread, it may not be for you. For me, I rather enjoyed it - interesting to see how they used to make cornbread and how far it's come. Husk - a good experience overall, very nice decor. Some of the food is interesting in a good way, and some were misses. read more

Once I booked my flight to Nashville, the first restaurant reservation I made was for Husk. The last time I was in Charleston, I wasn't able to make it in to the original location, so it was a priority to visit this location. Only lunch reservations were available, which worked out well. Menu is not just seasonal but drafted daily with what is available from their suppliers- many dishes seem to stick around for a while, but there's always the chance of a surprise addition. Check their website for the menu on the morning of your visit or wait til you get there to be surprised. When you first walk in to the hostess stand, their list of each ingredient and where it comes from is listed to the right. During my visit, there was a great seafood emphasis and we ended up trying the smoked trout roe deviled eggs, the shrimp & grits, and the lunch plate with fried catfish. Overall, everything was solid but the shrimp and grits were the definite standout- probably the least photogenic version of the dish I've yet eaten but by far the best-tasting! So rich and creamy, each bite was packed with shrimpy flavor; I almost didn't want to share. The catfish was less impressive, partially due to my dislike of the tartar sauce-slaw on top, but the fish and breading itself seemed to lack flavor. I was surprised by how much I enjoyed the sides, a braised cabbage with wheatberry and a kale salad, more complex flavors than the descriptions might imply. The egg app was a great version of the classic southern snack. The lunch pricing was extremely fair for the quality, and I'd definitely go back for the shrimp and grits! TIP: Even though I didn't get it, the cheeseburger is listed on several "best of" lists and was recommended by our server. Kicking myself for not getting it. Don't be like me. read more

I personally like brunch or lunch here best. Dinner is just really expensive, but also good. Just don't plan on watching your weight here- get the biscuits, gravy, country ham, anything friend and "ALL THAT" and you'll do just fine. Great whiskey selection, very thoughtful well crafted cocktails. But really my three faves: The cheeseburger, the fried chicken, and the country breakfast plate (brunch only) Just stop in here and get what sounds good. They don't make food like this where I am from. I had been on the road for more than a month, and what it meant was that I couldn't really enjoy anywhere I went and eating became part of my work life. When MB made the reservation for party of 4, all I could think of was that I didn't have to worry about food for the evening. What we got was something different. Husk is in a beautiful house. This one anyway. The food was delicious. Try the appetizers of beef tartare but if you are really into liver, the hot liver was to die for. I did not realize such thing existed. The breads were delicious and buttery. My other colleague is vegetarian, their vegetarian sample felt like out of this world. It's called A Plate of Southern Vegetables. I stole his grits and mushroom, super creamy. My steak "Bear Creek Farm Beef, Sunchoke, Broccoli, Satsuma, Charred Onion" was medium rare and it was the best I've ever had. I gave some to my colleague to sample. It was cooke to perfection. My colleague ordered pork, which was was also from Bear Creek farm. Pimento cheese was a thing and I tried just enough to know that this thing was too good to be good for your health but one should not worry about dieting in this restaurant. We also had ginger ale, was was locally brew and spicy. They ordered dessert and I had a tiny bit of taste and they were superb. I did not realize Husk came with a James Beard award winning chef. But suffice to say this was perhaps the best meal I had all year long - granted, it was only February. Would the chef consider open one such restaurant in San Francisco? Husk was a unique experience- it genuinely felt like we were in old town North Carolina. It's set in a literal house, with vintage furniture and a distinct southern charm. The service was amazing- our waitress knew everything about the menu and checked in on us frequently. I ordered the Tomato Salad (light and refreshing), Shrimp and Grits (savory and well flavored, though the shrimp didn't taste super fresh to me), Cornbread (denser than I would have liked, but still really yummy!). read more

I'm honestly SO sad to be reviewing the Nashville Husk as only a 2 stars after having the dining experience of a lifetime at their Charleston location. The service was slow and very unenthusiastic. The $15 cocktails were average. The menu was not overly impressive. The food wasn't bad, but not anything to write home about (especially for the price). The appetizer was fatty. My steak was undercooked and the trout was good, but nothing special. The sides of the entrees were much tastier than the actual entree itself. The deserts were by far the best part of the meal. They frequently change the menu to keep it local and seasonal (which I do love), so check the website before you go! But because of this, it's nearly impossible to know what you're going to be getting when you make the reservations. I'm not picky, but even I wasn't overly thrilled with any of their entree options. It might have been an off night, but with so many great & unique restaurants in Nashville, I'm not sure that I would give this place another shot... read more
Steven was our server who takes his job seriously and I was grateful for the care. Our lunch was interesting and tasty. I can see why it is a popular place for sure. Our deviled eggs were delicious. I could have done with not ordering the pimento cheese and wafers, it was not my thing. I was happy to see the famous Tuesday fried chicken has made a permanent position on the menu, therefore I ordered it. I was nervous about all the extra spice but relieved to find it super edible. The sides were over kill. I would have loved a plain old cole slaw to cleanse the palette. I was hankering for a Basil lime sorbet after the meal too...always a foodie adding imaginary dishes to complete perfect meal. I enjoyed Husk again. Will return for sure. read more

Came for dinner while in Nashville. I hate to say it, but I wasn't 100% wowed with food or service here. There were some high notes, but in all, i thought it was kind of average. Pros: *Bread and butter - the rolls were amazing. I hate crusty bread, so this did not disappoint. There were large flakes of (maldon?) salt? And the butter! oh man Pork Lard and Honey - have you ever heard of such a thing? Awesomeness!!! *Rappahannock Oysters, Roasted Over the Embers, Bone Marrow, Bay Laurel -- I really enjoyed this. I don't even know what was in that sauce, but it complimented the oyster so well. The platter and presentation was really aesthetically pleasing also. And as the first thing that came out after cocktails, it really set the bar high. *Ribeye: So instead of the beef entree listed on the menu (it would have been tri tip that night), I opted for the rib eye special because I love my steaks. What was really cool about this is the server came out with a box of a selection of knives. I could pick one out to use for my steak -- beware they can only give out one per table. Along with the steak, the also brought out 4 sauces in little saucier cups -- (bleu cheese crumble, their version of steak sauce, their version of heinz 57 sauce, and hollandaise). *seeing the kitchen / dry ageing room / selection of wines when you go to the bathroom: having a sneak peek of these things is always a plus to me -- it's not super in your face like open kitchens, which can sometimes be uncomfortable to watch as you are dining. This peek kind of makes me think I'm mischievous and sneaking around a little, but I know I won't be getting into trouble. Pretty cool. Missed the mark: *Crispy Chicken Skins, White BBQ Sauce, Thyme $14 -- I was very excited for this, but after eating a few really crispy ones, once you get to the middle of the mound, the skins became a little chewy and oily. I suppose we could have eaten it a little faster. *Bear Creek Farm Pork, Barefoot Farmer's Sweet Potatoes, Sassafras, Pecan -- We got a duet of pork belly and pork shoulder steak. The belly was delicious, but the pork shoulder steak (I think it was shoulder) was way too fatty to be eaten. The sweet potato / sassafras casserole was really interesting - not too sweet, even though the sassafras meringue looks like marshmallows. We also got a couple of the desserts which I don't really remember at this moment. Oh wait, I remember a popcorn ice cream that topped a chocolate cake of sorts -- the ice cream was really unique and pretty good. It was paired with salted caramel too... yum. Overall, it passed, but it was a bit of a trek, out of the way, and kind of pricey to have this on the must-do list. read more

Quintessential Southern restaurant located in this cute house. We went to Husk for brunch during our Nashville trip. Food was delicious albeit slightly salted. We had - - Biscuits and gravy (BOMB!) - Deviled eggs (delicious) - Husk burger (MUST GET) - Country Fried Steak (my friend said it was a bit dry) - Shrimp and grits (nothing special) Overall, good food but expect a little bit of a wait as the food comes out slowly. read more

It looks cute and cozzy from outside and more modern inside. Of course the menu changes daily/weekly. When I went I got the beef tartare. Yum. Very good. And the pork chop, it was good however it had a lot of fat on it which was unpleasant. My mom got the ribeye with eggplant. One of the eggplants wasn't cooked enough and was too hard to eat. When it came time to pay, they gave us the proper receipt, we gave the credit card, she comes back for us to sign it and we noticed we were charged an extra $140. Good thing we noticed. We told the waitress and she was didn't get our concern until we fully explained it. She took the card and receipt back and was gone for 6+ minutes. But finally got it fixed. This was an amazing experience from start to finish. The restaurant is located in an old house and is very cute. We made a Reservation to sit on the front porch and it was very nice, a little windy but worth it. Our waiter was very friendly and thorough with the menu. We chose some great items off a brunch menu that changes daily. French Toast with whipped Peanut Butter, blackberry jam, and Maple Bourbon Syrup was our favorite and every bite was worth it. The smoked chicken wings with the Alabama white sauce were a perfect salty complement to the sweet French toast. The country breakfast was very good as well with all fresh ingredients and good flavor. We will definitely be back to try dinner here as it was our favorite spot in Nashville! read more

Bucket list worthy! We didn't have a reservation but were seated at the bar within a few minutes. Ambience: There was a boisterous group standing right behind us at an already loud bar, which initially gave us an unexpected dive-y vibe. But the food and drinks totally changed that. Drinks: we initially ordered a couple of cocktails from the menu, which were good. However, what stole our hearts was a bartender's personalized version of sidecar with cognac, lime juice, maraschino liquor and.... "toasted absinthe"! Yummy and bold. Appetizers: I got the spaghetti squash Johnny cakes- like savory rich pancakes: delicious but too large to be an appetizer in my opinion. Not complaining though... made for an excellent leftover brunch. Hubby got the chicken liver, and he loved the hot and spicy mix that doused the dish. Entrees: I got the plate of southern vegetables, which was a fresh and flavorful assortment. There were turnips, dried peas, cauliflower and red cabbage salad, chard and radish salad, and hush puppies, served with a broth with grits. (Vegan tip: there is poached egg in the broth, but I was able to easily take it out). The grilled chicken for Adi was tasty but he regretted not ordering something more classically southern. Overall, Husk definitely has character, and consistently stays true to its roots despite being flamboyant with all its flavors. What an amazing meal. Definitely needs a Michelin rating. From start to finish, perfection. Ambiance , service, FOOD! Cannot say enough great things. Go go go!! Book in advance. Very desirable. Loved that restaurant accommodated our need to arrive late. read more

Sean Brock is doing something magical here. Truly. This place is not to be missed if you are anywhere near any of the couple locations they have. Each dish is so meticulously crafted you wonder how they are able to serve as many tables as they do in a night - the quality reminds me of a smaller chef's table feel yet the ambiance is of a larger space that accentuates the comfort of a high end southern home. The highlights of our meal were the pimento cheese which is superb, shrimp and grits which blew away all expectations as this is a dish normally solid but the Husk version was packed with flavor and wonderful. I believe you can go there for a special occasion. The food is presented beautifully and it is very good. There isn't a particular dress code. Jeans are ok.
