Stunning setting: super high ceilings with detail and gorgeous chandeliers, a beautiful bar and pretty lights, nostalgic decor, cushy comfy seats and excellent service. Had Steve be our server, and he was great: personable, engaging, and attentive. After being my nosey self, I learned that he is a singer/ songwriter as well. Steve made us some great drinks, ( my Hey There Delilah was amazing), and hubby had 3 Tiki Mai Tai's -really good! Had a pretzel and Tennessee cheese plate during happy hour--perfect!--but stayed for dinner (yummy chicken with rice and broccolini) and the talented Brian Allison providing entertainment. The 4 of us had dinner here a few nights ago. I relied on Open Table as we were new to Nashville, and wanted a nice space, good food, and music without a lot of hassle. I suspect that Nashville is full of places like this, but it takes time that we didn't have to work through the many options. CONS - None Really +/- 1. We were served by one trainee and another more established waiter. There were some minor service glitches, particularly with missing asparagus, and forgetting to ask us about dessert. 2. Gayle and Erin ordered their steak medium rare which is exactly what they got, but seemed bit surprised that it was redder than they expected. However, it was not enough to send it back. PROS 1. Nice Room and a great booth that nicely softened the dining room noise and music. 2. We actually enjoyed our waiters, despite occasional confusion. In this town you wonder whether they're some aspiring musician that we'll point to some day? 3. The duo playing the music were very good and took requests. 4. The food (including the meat for Erin and Gayle) was quite good and reasonably priced. Jim and I had the chicken bowls that looked healthy, and probably were. We were staying at the Hotel Indigo so decided to try dinner at the restaurant located inside, the Countrypolitan. The atmosphere was nice, although very dim. I had to get my phone flashlight out to read the menu. Our server was friendly, gave some good recommendations and made sure we had everything we needed. I had the Brisket Hash Bowl which I enjoyed very much, probably too much as I don't regularly eat meat! However, in Tennessee it can be hard to find vegetarian options, so I went with the flow and had the brisket! It was tender, very flavorful and overall just a good meal! The espresso martinis he made were the best I've ever had and our group had a couple of the s'mores old fashions and they are already trying to figure out how to recreate it. This was my second time staying at the hotel and first time with my husband. I loved staying here before because of the restaurant and I was excited to enjoy a meal with my fella. Luckily it did not disappoint this time around! We ended up enjoying three meals here and a dessert one night. Somewhat because of convenience since it was so cold in Nashville when we were there (and they give you a daily credit to use if you're staying in the hotel) but also because it's just pretty darn great! First off, shout out to our amazing servers! Steve in particular took care of us multiple times and gave us great recommendations, including whipping us up a very delicious mocktail off menu. So friendly and welcoming. We felt like lifetime regulars after just three days there! Now the food! We enjoyed dinner the first night we got in and I went for the short rib with grits and broccolini. SO SO good. I also had the mango dragonfruit mocktail which was so fun with some popping boba on top. My husband went with the BBQ mac and cheese and I took a few bites...excellent! We ended up needing to take off to a concert before we had time for dessert but Steve assured us if we came back by 11pm we could enjoy the late night menu which had a couple of desserts, so that's what we did. Unfortunately they had run out of one of the desserts (churros) but they were able to hook us up with one of the regular menu desserts they still had, the Boatsinker Brownie Pie (which I had had my eye on anyway) and it was SO GOOD. We also had the lava cake from the late night menu and that was also good but that pie was where it was at! The next day we stopped for breakfast. Our lattes were delicious (I went with a mocha and my husband got the lavender honey and LOVED it). When in the south I try and get grits with every meal and so I definitely added a side of it with my entree, the biscuits and gravy. Everything was so good! The gravy was a little on the salty side but I like things salty so I really enjoyed it and ended up ordering it again that Monday we were checking out as a final meal before running to the airport. And the grits? So good! I'm craving it big time back home. The other delightful part is the live music here! We enjoyed several artists in the evening including a great duo and an AMAZING bluegrass group of about 8 or 9 younger musicians. Such a nice treat with our meal. Great ambiance, service (staff), & food. Picked here for New Year's Day brunch and so glad we did. We loved everything. The ambiance is relaxing and stunning at the same time. We both got the Cosmopolitan Nash Hash which allows to pick how you want your eggs, your veggies, meat, cheese, bread. and topper. For toppers we tried the white bbq sauce & spicy jelly. Both were good but white bbq sauce was both our favorites. Hash browns are the base of this dish and they were well prepared. From there hubs and varied but both were very happy with our selections. I loved the lavender latte (& the mug it came in). Hubs enjoyed the OJ. We got to share one of the cinnamon buns (biscuit) which we both enjoyed and was a great was to end our meals. Our server was friendly, helpful, & attentive without being overly present. As we were leaving we went to checkout the merchandise, as we often do, and enjoyed a fun conversation with two great woman who definitely sealed this five-star review. Highly recommend for brunch. We noticed this place when walking by the side of the indigo hotel which happens to be part of printers alley. The beautiful chandeliers drew us in for a drink. The interior is beautiful. They had a guy playing guitar and singing. Probably the only reason to go to this area. We thought printers alley itself was horrible. The bartender was friendly and efficient. A bit overpriced for what you get. Oatmeal, a breakfast sandwich, two coffees and a side of bacon for in excess of $65 before tip should be dramatically delicious but not so. Coffee was good but just average coffee. Oatmeal was oatmeal. The breakfast sandwich was supposed to be a combination of sweet and savory but mine was missing the jam, featured two very hard cinnamon rolls and lacked cohesion. We ordered some soups the soup of the day and it was really well made, and it came in less than 5 minutes which was impressive. But this place lacks protein options. The bar is inside the indigo Hotel/Countrypolitan and is a fantastic spot for a late night drink. Our bartender Zach was amazing. He took care and passion when he was making his drinks. He is extremely friendly and very attentive. All of the staff seemed to care about their bar. I would highly recommend this bar for late night drinks. It is a nice casual ambience and good music. Not sure about the food, just came across this place with an hour or so to spare and the music called us in. I'm a huge Americana / bluegrass fan and Greenwood Rye was playing, so HAD to hang for a bit. Drinks, bar and service were very good + there might 'just might' have been a film crew that showed up to record the group live. Very cool find, atmosphere, music, and space. Wonderful hotel and bar. The hotel was definitely good. The 5 stars comes for the restaurant/lobby bar staff, food, and experience. The lobby is so pretty. The staff is awesome, friendly, and attentive. The live music was very very good each night. Find Leah and she will take such amazing care of you. She remembered everyone who came through, so it was not unique to us. And all the staff seemed to do the same. The place is beautiful in the dining room and very nicely decorated. Very tall ceilings with cool country music playing and chandeliers all over. Service was great and so was their menu. I opted for their bacon, egg, & cheese biscuit sandwich and a side cup of gravy. Their sausage gravy was amazing!! It tasted even better poured over the inside of the biscuit sandwich!! Today, my travels have taken me to Nashville! I always love TN! Unfortunately, it was chilly today so I settled for the hotel bar and grill at Hotel Indigo in downtown Nashville. I was immediately seated and drinks came quick. My servers tag teamed my table. If they saw I needed refills I love that it didn't matter who my waiter was, they refilled my drink! The menu is small but effective. I started with bacon wrapped scallops served with pepper jelly (like what comes with coconut shrimp in many places). The scallops were perfect! Warm, tender... and the bacon was juicy and delicious. The jelly was outstanding... just enough heat to give you a warm sensation while bursting with flavor! The main course, I went with chicken marsala. The sides were grilled carrots and mashed potatoes. The mash potatoes were tasty and very creamy. The marsala sauce complimented them well! The carrots were crisp but soft in the middle, bursting with flavor as well! Now the chicken... awesome. The chicken breast was tender, and had a very light breading with a great taste to it. The marsala mushroom sauce was excellent! For desert, yes I fell for it, I got chocolate cake. The server brought 2 slices out because he felt the the original cut piece was a little small. It was a very nice gesture, but I'd hate to see a big slice hahah! It was excellent. The cake wasn't dry at all and not overly sweet. Overall, this hotel restaurant much better than what you expect at hotels. I have enjoyed Hotel Indigo (excellent beds and rooms!) and The District Bar and Grill. The food absolutely was worth 5 stars. The atmosphere is very relaxed (live music hasn't started yet.. get a feeling they start at 7pm). The only knock I gave he restaurant was the pricing. Although the food is excellent, I felt the menu is overpriced by a small margin, but that's expected in hotels. If you stay here, and don't feel like going out in this wonderful city, you absolutely will not be disappointed eating here!! I have seen reports of some service issues, but I encountered the exact opposite... my servers were fast and did a great job! read more

No mention of yogurt (it tasted like that was ALL it was... THIN unhealthy-sweet yogurt....no flavor of coconut milk or almond butter... Greeted by the bar manager, Derek ... found out we went to the same high school ... 866 miles away from Nashville with an average graduating class of ~300 students....graduating 20+ years apart. Welcome to Cheer's Nashville. Two trips in two years to Nashville stemming 6 nights, I've eaten at Countrypolitan 3 times. One bite and Weird Al would be inspired to parody Blue's Traveler's "Hook".... The brisket brings you back (and haunts your dreams). The fried chicken and pulled pork also leave you in awe. And the music ... feels like a private show at a 50 seat venue playing from my favorite playlist. Shout out to the entire staff. Located in the Indigo Hotel in downtown Nashville, The District Bar & Kitchen is a great place for food and music when you aren't able to venture out due to weather as what happened to me on this stay. It is right behind the check-in desk. There is plenty of seating and the bar is very, very large. The live music in the far corner of the bar is a great plus. I came down early wanting to try the Thighs Fried Chicken with Biscuit, but, unfortunately, it's on the lunch menu and I missed that cutoff. I just ended up having a drink as I really wasn't hungry for anything else, other than the chicken thighs. But, my dining partner ordered the Hatch Brother's Burger with Brisket and Short Rib. It looked great and he said it was, indeed, very tasty. So, next time, I'm going to make it for that lunch menu! read more
