Local dive turned local date spot:In the past, this little bar has had a seedy feeling. Since it has become Hutghi's, It has a nice hang out feeling to it, perfect if you want to sit and have a casual date night. They even have some games to play at the table (cribbage anyone?), which I am always a fan of. I like oysters, I like charcuterie boards, and I loveeee cocktails, all elements of a great date night. A combination of things I would never have available at home, with a changing menu for variety. I can say, as a tip,that on occasion some people at the bar can be obnoxiously loud. I used to live in Westfield and I had been in here when it was the Nook ... which was a classic dive bar. Hutghi's has kept the charm of the Nook and made a super comfortable bar that is worthy of hanging out in. The cocktail I had, a Manhattan, was perfect. They also had a good selection of only local beers and all that I tried were delicious. We ordered mussels and sandwiches and they were fresh and tasty. Service was exceptional. The establishment is owner operated and they were present. New England neighborhood bars don't get much better than this. If I ever opened a bar I might have aimed for something like this. Great cocktails. Very slow service. Food is good but missing sides and overpriced. Kind of a fun weird vibe.

I drive by this place numerous times a day and always though its just a seedy dive bar for local drunks. I was wrong. This place is great and has so much character. They don't skimp on the alcohol and the food was surprisingly good. They even have a comedy night every Thursday where you can see local comics bomb or do really well. You never know what you'll get, that's what makes open mics fun. I was pleasantly surprised by The Nook. read more

Not typically a roast beef person, but WOW did this place turn me into one. Such a well curated, eclectic New England aesthetic to top off the amazing food, portions and service. This is the type of place who likely hates Yelp and Yelp reviews but oh well. It's that good. People need to know what they might be missing in this gem. Amazing craft cocktails, awesome staff and owners. They really turned this landmark back into something special. Fresh raw bar selections, really good charcuterie plates and the best Greyhound around. Dark and inviting, you could stay here for hours- and you should. What an awesome addition to Westfield. No one who loves Hutghi's cares about yelp reviews. But here's one anyway - I'll put them on the yelp map right quick before someone complains about the lighting or some other trivial thing that doesn't matter. They did such an amazing job. Went in on opening night and it was a seamless operation. They clearly know what they're doing! Knowledgeable and friendly staff, nice variety of drinks, cool vibe. The Nook used to be a biker bar but now it's the coolest, most hip joint in the area. Amazing creative cocktails and a great list of excellent craft beers make it so. The owners have embraced the history of the building and put their own twist on the classic decor. This is not a college bar but more akin to a quiet, mellow place where you can enjoy a few drinks and listen to some classic rock or old punk records (actual LP records.) As you walk into this place for the first time - you likely think: "I'll probably be able to get a decent burger, fries and a beer..." since that is the initial 'vibe' this place has. However, it offers 1) incredibly quick service (we had our menus and water before we even sat down), 2) a relatively limited menu but unlimited quality, and 3) fabulously scrumptous entrees! I had the a bluefish melt sandwich which, if not for my wife's resistance, I would move to Westfield - from NY where we live - just so I could have that sandwich once a week.
