Ate there 5 times and have never been disappointed. Service and food are top notch. Whenever my wife and I do takeout, we always get a pizza from Tellus (best in town).My only small complaint that is in the winter there is a door out to the alley that opens into where people are seated. There is a sign directing people to use the other entrance, but apparently some people can't read. On cold nights I've seen customers seated by the alley door wearing their coats and hats. Not an easy problem to fix because of fire codes, but I hope owners figure something out. read more

Tellus is one of our go-to places in the Valley. We have never once been disappointed. We often go here for celebrations and, of course, when we want to eat delicious food and drink amazing cocktails. The thing that makes Tellus extra special is the way the staff and the owners interact. There's a fun, jovial atmosphere and everyone seems relaxed and genuinely happy when you walk in the door. We usually go out for dinner as a family every Thursday night. I suggested the Tellus & Satellite Bar. We had never been there before. The menu is easy to decipher with a basic selection of tacos, burger, and pizza. There are other interesting items on the menu along with some exotic cocktails. Our server quickly attended to our order with a pleasant smile. The atmosphere is a little noisy but nothing too unpleasant. We all agreed we will come back. read more

We stopped by for dinner. We were seated right away. The service was really attentive throughout. They have a really well curated menu. Their bar looks nice with lots of seating around it. They have outdoor seating as well. We had the guava lime mule which is non-alcoholic. It had a really nice presentation and a cool mug. We also had the honey ginger lemonade which was really refreshing. The Korean wings were really good. We tried their Alsatian pizza. It was nice. Tellus is absolutely fabulous in every way. The cocktails are good, and the food is even better. I love the rotating menu, but please never remove the grilled cornbread! It's life changing. Tellus is tucked away in Thornes, next to where they run Tuesday market - it's a quiet location so it's wonderful to sit outside, but inside is nice too. OMD, it's time for yet another episode of.... The Good, The Bad, and the UG-(record scratch)-wait wait wait. That's not right. How about.... The Good, The Great, and The Slightly Less Than Optimal!!! (Reviewer's Note: I am nomming hard on a cold slice of veal meatball pizza as I write this. NOM.) (TLDR: Eat and Drink here.) The Good: Wife and I on a random Thursday night decided to try something new. We looked them up, and we were excited. The website is brilliant: They offer both reservations AND the ability to add yourself to the wait list. Introverts Rejoice! There was no wait at all, so we cruised into downtown, parked in the adjacent ga-rage, strolled across the park, and were quickly seated at a charming little table for two. The Menu is tight, which in my world is a great sign. I'd rather you have 6 things on the menu and do them perfectly, than have 50 options done poorly. No worries there, the carte has a near perfect selection of plates, bowls, trays, and Detroit style pizza. Atmosphere was lovely. The music is good, but quiet enough that you can hold a conversation without shouting. Decor is stylish, and spoke to my heart (we sat near a pic of Jimi wailing on his axe. Good times.) On to the Great! (You're still reading?) The cocktail menu was beautifully Northampton. Strong drinks made with liquors I've never heard of (or that I have a bottle of hiding WAY in the back of my home bar, which I used for that one recipe that one time back in '07.) We ordered two, and were not disappointed. The Start Me Up would definitely get Kieth and Mick's approval, and the Baby Zombie Panda (HUH?) was a lovely Prosecco cocktail. Is that a huge square ice cube in my drink? Yes, please! The service was solid and friendly, 5 stars for our server. On to the food! We ordered the smashed Wagyu burger and fries, and the aforementioned Detroit style pizza. The burger was delicious, and the fries were amazing. The side of Bacon Mayo was worth the extra dose of Lipitor I'll be taking for the next week. Tell my Cardiologist I regret nothing. My wife was less a fan of the pizza. It has a very thick crust, sauce on top. I've never really been a fan of Detroit style, but I'll admit, this was the best one I've ever had by far (way better than anything I ate that week I spent in Dearborn.) And frankly, cold the next day was like a bit of Heaven. I'm keeping it in the Great column. And the Pizza is rectangular, about 9" x 11". Six squares, crispy cheese around the edges. Could easily be a meal for two or an app for 3. They might convert me here. The food and drink was great, but It was bound to happen.... The Slightly Less Than Optimal! OK, if you've read my other reviews, I always have to find something. (Nobody's paying me for these reviews... I'm beholden to no-one! I can shine a spotlight on every flaw I find!! You want a flawless review? Start ponying up that mad fat influencer cash, yo!) First, the flatware is cool looking, very hip, very stylish... and hard to use. I have giant man-hands, and the fork and knife were elegantly dainty. -.001 stars. I ordered a burger and fries, my wife ordered pizza. It would have been great if it all came out together, but the burger and fries arrived about 5 minutes before the pizza. This lead to my wife om-nom-nomming on part of my burger and many of my crispy, delicious fries and bacon mayo, thereby depriving my arteries of the cholesterol they were excitedly expecting. And I can't just sit there eating while my darling spouse stares at me with those puppy-dog eyes without sharing. I'm not heartless! (Cardiologists note: If you keep eating bacon mayo on French Fries, you will be, Mike.) -.001 stars Also, there are 2 wonderful looking salads, but they don't have a protein add-on. Charge me $8 for a grilled chicken breast, I'm in. (Seriously, my cardiologist is begging you to sell me a salad with miso rosemary infused chicken breast on it. Actually, he'd probably prefer you serve me a lemongrass-thyme grilled tofu or something... ) -.001 stars. Honestly, those are the WORST things I can come up with. That's it. I'm griping about the hand feel of the flatware, sub-optimal food timing leading to french fry thievery, and the lack of a protein option. What a great find . First time experiencing this restaurant. Service was attentive, informative. We started with wonderful creative cocktails, followed by cucumber salad. Salad had a hint of heat very enjoyable. The table shared wings( I could have eaten them all myself) yummy. We ordered pepperoni pizza , it did not disappoint. Definitely big enough for 2-3 if having other items. Noise level not bad. Worth trying and coming back to try other items on the menu. read more

Each time we visit the food is always a hit. The "Start Me Up" cocktail is almost hard not to order and the house-made sauces are all a must try. Fantastic place for cocktails and a quick bite. My partner and I went and had drinks at the bar (for the fourth time). The host was super kind, going out of his way to make a good space for us as a couple. The bartenders are attentive, engaging and make fantastic drinks. We have only had apps so far - fries, small salad and broccoli- but all have been excellent. We haven't been there for the late night dance party, but have heard great things about it. Simply put, Tellus is a perfect casual restaurant. Every appointment, from food to service to plates and silverware, is perfectly curated and executed. Located at the bottom of Thornes , the room is comfortable and stylish. Outdoor seating sits on a car-free passageway that makes for fun people watching. The reasonable prices make it a real deal. Cocktails and mock tails were elegant and scrumptious. Egg rolls were crisp and delicious, served with wrapping lettuce and Thai Chile dipping sauce. The smashed cucumber salad was refreshing and umami in a gochuchang dressing. A beef empanada had deep flavored filling and a shell as flaky as puff pastry. Don't miss the pizzas. Sausage with tangy vodka sauce and mushroom with 3 cheeses were both enhanced by chewy, smoky crust. " to die for" is an understatement. Service was professional and attentive, yet friendly and personable. Everyone on the staff seemed dedicated to our having a good time. Moreover, they all acted like they loved their jobs and the place they worked in. Now, here's the dilemma: it's impossible to save room for dessert but it's even more impossible to resist the desserts. I'm a retired pastry chef, so it's hard to please me but the Vietnamese coffee Tres Leches cake was absolutely brilliant. It's simplicity masks the perfection of the technique. moist, luscious, flavor-packed and fascinating, it's the kind of dessert where you just keep scraping the tiniest bit of crème or crumb up while you wait for the check.
