Having a local jerk spot is greatly appreciated but I was highly disappointed in the quality of what I ordered. I was greeted by owner, Baker. He was very welcoming but the place could definitely use a pick Me up. It's very depressing and maybe dull as another customer mentioned is accurate. Overall, it was clean but had room for improvement. After seeing a bug in someone greens on a previous customer photo I couldn't get that out My mind but didn't allow that to deter Me from giving it a try. I ordered the garlic shrimp and jerk chicken. Both plates were fill and hit when received. Not the hot off the grill though more so like it had been prepared and rewarded. The shrimp were over cooked and tiny. The chicken was so dry and tough. I love gravy but there was way too much sauce on rice and chicken I think to mask the fact that it didn't appear fresh. The patties were good thankfully but for the money spent I couldn't have had My children's Jamaican grandma cook authentic jerk at home. Cabbage was meh and so was the plantain. I also ordered soursop which was pretty good. It had the nutmeg so it gave authentic Jamaican recipe. The only thing is the bottle top would not snap back on so once it's open you have to consume in one setting. It was not cold enough to do so and the place did not have ac. I came in the other day really excited to try some jamaican food here in the states. I normally dont like a lot of food here because they dont taste authentic. However, when i came i tried the chicken and beef patties. Can't go wrong with a patty. The beef one was a very simple, classic tasting one very similar to one i'd get in jamaica or a family member would make, but oh the chicken one, ABSOLUTELY stunning. Very nicely seasoned and the crust on both were nice. The atmosphere in the restaurant was a little dull but i just reminds me of small family owned restaurants. The service was okay. I went to this restaurant on a Sunday. I ordered a large oxtail and a small Jerk chicken. I did not check my food before I left( In a rush). When I got home to eat; the Jerk chicken they gave us was old and hard. You could tell that the chicken had been cooked days ago. The cabbage was not cooked properly, it was hard too. I have tried most Jamaican Restuants on doordash and Uber eats and have found them all disappointing. Huzzy's unfortunately falls in that camp too. I feel like they smoke the oxtail here instead of stewing it and I'm not going to say if it's right or wrong but I am not a fan of it. I am not really a big fan of smoke in my meat. My daughter had previously brought me a to-go plate of jerk chicken. I finally had a chance to come by for a sit down meal. I came by after the lunch hour (I try to avoid crowds). I ordered the combination plate with jerk chicken and oxtails. It was just as delicious as the plate my daughter had brought me. I plan on trying more items on the menu. I went into Huzzy today 3/27/2024. I called my order in before I got there. When I picked my order up, the lady in there was RUDE. She had a attitude because I had 2 orders of cabbages and she put them in one container. So, when I asked for them to be separated she said you do know you are getting more this way. I didn't care because I was ordering for me and someone else. I left there and wasn't gone for 20 minutes opened my food and it was a bug in both of my cabbages. I called and a man answered and I told him what happened. He gives my this whole story about people do stuff to get money or to get over on people and businesses. That rubbed me they wrong way I'm not talking about people I'm talking about me. I was told I couldn't get my money back but I can get an exchange. He told me that once you leave you can't get either money back or exchange; he kept accusing me of trying to scam him and get over on him. He goes on to say that I had bugs in my car and that's where the bugs come from. I went back showed them the bug they were refusing me of a refund but wanted to give me more cabbages. Like who wants more bug infested cabbages. I ordered patties and they were hard so I didn't even eat those. He lied like the health department comes every month to check there restaurant for bug and etc. Long story short spend your money somewhere else. Go somewhere the atmosphere will be cleaner looking as well as the owner or worker will have a better attitudes and definitely will have GOOOOOOOD food. The cabbages don't even give jamaican at all, they were plain and didn't have any flavor. The inside of the building is not inviting and the owners are not welcoming at all. Found on yelp as it's near my work when I forget my lunch. I've eaten here 4 times and each time was 5 stars. I've tried the jerk chicken and the goat dish and some others - the goat is my favorite. Not for people who don't like eating meat off the bone as there are lots of bones but that's part of why it's delicious. Serving portions are huge, probably enough for a Jamaican family of 4 or one average fat ass American. Reasonably priced too. Oh they have those Jamaican meat pies also, get one of those. read more

My daughter found this place by chance of being in the area about a month ago. We frequent the place several times a week or purchase for several days. And Yes! it is that good! The food is always consistent in quality, taste and plentiful. We normally call in orders for pickup. It is always ready at the time agreed. Owners on hand. The jerk chicken here is awesome. Hell I ordered both plates today for myself. (1 for dinner tonight and 1 for work tomorrow). Ok let me get to explain. There are about 6 or 8 big ass meaty ox tails on the large order.
