My boyfriend and i made a road trip from Fort Worth early this morning to pick up something he had purchased from in town. It was gonna be a minute so the gentleman recommended we come here for some breakfast while we wait. We had breakfast here. The server was great and attentive. We have been here several Times and especially like the Mexican breakfast served on the weekends. I had a bacon cheese omelet and my husband the steak breakfast. He said the steak was good and tender. The cook was sweet came to check out how the food was. The issue is country comfy. I usually do not take the time to write reciew but this olace certainly deserves one. I went to visit my mom in Deleon, and we went to HWY 6 for breakfast. I ordered an omelet with cheese, onion, bell pepper, and bacon. The breakfast included hashbrowns and toast. First off, we were greeted immediately with a friendly waitress who was sure to bring out our drinks of choice. She was attentive on topping off my moms coffee several times during our visit. The omelet was HUGE and absolutely delicious, and when I would cut off a bite, the melted cheese would stretch from plate to mouth. The toast was toasted perfectly, and the hashbrowns were cooked just the way I love them. This was by far the best breakfast I have had in 20-plus years. I am very impressed and intend to enjoy the same experience every time I visit my mom. I wish my town had a HWY 6...I would eat there every day. read more

The food was delicious they had a nice buffet and desserts.I highly recommend the tater tots and chessebuger.Even though it was a small place there was a lot of people there.The woman was super nice and hardworking. There were a lot of games to play and a lot of money to win and a pocket knife which was cool.They were very thoughtful and switched out the food so we didn't eat old food from the buffet. We drop in every time we are in town. The burger special is very tasty, reasonably priced and more than enough good. My personal favorite is the grilled catfish dinner. Seasoned perfectly and so tender. read more

ZERO STARS. Without a doubt the WORST & ONLY food for miles. Went there today, a Sunday. Tiny room at entrance is FILTHY with dust and dead bugs. Trash on the floor. Entered the restaurant at 11 AM, only to be advised they don't serve breakfast after 11 AM on. Sunday. Seriously. On a SUNDAY. no breakfast after 11 AM. Utterly ridiculous and obvious it's for the convenience of staff and nobody gives a damn about the customer. I noticed them putting out buffet food. Soooo, we didn't have any choice. NO other place to eat for many miles. Ok, stuck-like-chuck but we made the best of it, we thought. Catfish at the buffet ( and everything else COLD COLD COLD. No attempt to even pretend that they serve anything hot.) Almost NO catfish in the catfish. HEAVILY breaded and deep fried and COLD. ALL the other choices were trashy carbs. Mashed potatoes. Fried chicken. Crap salad bar ingredients ... almost all came from a jar or can. Vinyl wall behind buffet bar is used to write what's in the buffet with magic marker. . Screams trashy trailer mentality. People who eat in places like this always are super obese grazers. Tried cornbread, utterly devoid of flavor and hard and cold, who knows when it was made. Staff doesn't clean, they clear dishes. No gloves, no attempt to kill or control germs. And here's the kicker, the dishes. The dishes are cafeteria plastic plates from the 50's with three segments, like when you are in the school cafeteria as a child. OMG! read more

This is a small town cafe with regular food. If you are wanting fine dining there are restaurants in Ft Worth or Dallas to satisfy your tastes. The food here is consistent. No surprises. Sometimes, that is the best way to eat. Nothing fancy, just a meal to send you on your way. Please note you will not find a breakfast anywhere at their price. The steak fingers are really good...and you receive several on the plate. The breakfast Mexican food is really good and authentic. Tea and coffee are a Texas standard...consistently made fresh. Perfect for the traveler. We eat here every time we are in town to visit parents. People are hard working and accommodate customers as good as any other small town cafe we've frequented while traveling. DeLeon is in a very remote area, so, dropping by this place is appreciated. Customers are also just good folks...some farmers, some utility workers and a few truckers...and us! A little taste of a small Texas town. read more

OMG!!!! This restaurant USED to be a wonderful diner with really GOOD food. NO MORE!! I am sick still and ate at 11:30 today. I had the chicken fried steak $11.00 with fries (add $2.00 for baked potato and $3.00 for salad from the salad bar) and discovered that you really can have gristle in a FLAT, FROZEN, PREMADE, REDDISH colored piece of ?meat??? The fries were good if you ate ALL of them within 5 minutes....after that they were dry and rubbery. My husband had the cheeseburger $7.00 with CHIPS!!!! His hamburger patty was obviously from the same FROZEN food supplier this restaurant has chosen to use. What a HUGE DISAPPOINTMENT!! Will NEVER go back! read more

Was just told today at lunch that I had all the food from the All-You-Can-Eat-Buffet that I could have. They counted my plates and twice I just got a little salad and didn't know I was to combine it all into one plate at one time. Owner is the tightest person I have ever known to run a restaurant. Has relatives working there and if you aren't hispanic then you are not treated nearly as well as relatives and their friends. One time ordered chicken livers and they came out in a plate bloody and watery. Should have never returned after that incident. The food will many times look much better than it actually is when you try to eat it. Day before yesterday the beans were so salty it really made them about impossible to eat. Seems like there is always something that could have been cooked much better. Will not be back to this restaurant ever again even though I live here. read more
