Finally got the chance to check out Hwy 9 Grillhouse which is just down the road from us. I forgot to take menu pictures but have a takeout menu and will post that later. The hubs ordered the full rack of ribs with fries and Cole slaw. The ribs were tender and very meaty. Sauce had the right balance of sweet and tangy. He wasn't a fan of the Cole slaw as he prefers a creamier based slaw. He said he would definitely order the ribs again. I ordered the Mahi Mahi with mashed potatoes and gravy and asparagus. The mashed potatoes were good but a little too thick in texture for me. The Mahi Mahi was very good and I would definitely order it again. We finished our meal with the fried Oreos and ice cream and they were very good. The order comes with 4 fried Oreos and 2 scoops of ice cream. We will definitely be back for dine in and takeout and look forward to trying more of the menu. read more

Now this is some big back food! Don't come here if you're trying to diet lol! I ordered so much food and unfortunately didn't get pictures of everything. We started off with the calamari and fried green tomatoes. The calamari was drizzled with butter and fresh lemon and let me tell you.... It's was almost the BEST calamari I've had!! The tomatoes were delicious and I also had some wings. I got a mix of the Parmesan garlic and lemon pepper. Now the wings I didn't really care for so those I won't be trying again. I also ordered a cheeseburger, which did not disappoint. It was juicy, flavorful and worth every calorie!! My husband wanted some mashed potatoes and chili to go which all tasted homemade and perfect! And they have a bar! We definitely will be returning. read more

A hidden gem on Rt. 9 in Longs. No fancy decor, just great food and service in a relaxed atmosphere. The daily specials are the best... my wife loves the country fried pork chops and the shrimp & grits; I really enjoy the Calabash shrimp. Food was the worst ever. Ordered fried pork chop and gravy. Asparagus undercooked. Pork chop overcooked. Mashed potatoes hard as a rock. My husband ordered shrimp and grits. Shrimp was canned and grits were not homemade. Flavor of sauce was good. Our servet was great. Bartender who first serviced us had an attitude. Would definitely not go back except for a $10 fried special. Not worth a $56 bill but still left a $20 tip for the server, nor her fault about the quality or preparation of the food. read more

The restaurant has a quaint country style type atmosphere. It's very folksy and most people seem to know all the staff names. The cuisine is traditional and prepared in a timely manner. There is a wide range of menu items from appetizers, salads, lunch fare, and full dinner sized entrees. There is a children's menu as well. I like them especially for their great fries, chili bowls, BBQ spareribs, and burger specials. I've never been disappointed. It's located out in the country away from the tourist areas. It's a peaceful atmosphere where you can usually be seated immediately without the long waits. Personally, I've never had to wait to be seated. And there is always room at the bar where you have two televisions to watch. read more

Don't let the outside fool you! The food was very good and our waitress, Sarah was very attentive. My wife had the lump crab cakes which were delicious according to her and I had the Parmesan garlic wings which were also extremely tasty. If you order the side salad, beware cause it was huge! The environment is cozy, the waitresses are very friendly and interactive. I really enjoyed my experience here and the food was wonderful. I had the bacon n cheese burger which was surprisingly large and cooked exactly how I asked for. The fries were crispy and the grilled asparagus was perfectly done, soft with a little crunch.
