I've been to this Hy-Vee multiple times, but my experience recently was extremely disappointing. One of the employees spoke to me in a dismissive and disrespectful way when I asked a simple question. Instead of handling the situation professionally, they escalated things for no reason. When I later gave feedback about the experience, rather than listening or trying to resolve the issue, the staff reacted defensively and made the situation even worse. The entire interaction made it very clear that some employees here lack basic customer service training and emotional control. I like Hy-Vee as a store in general, but this location needs serious improvement in communication, respect toward customers, and knowing how to de-escalate instead of escalate. I hope management takes this seriously and addresses this with the staff involved. If needed, I am willing to speak with the store manager directly to clarify what happened. read more

The produce man was very rude when dealing with him today. He never smiled and acted like I was bothering him. Need to go back to training i will let everyone know not to go to this Hyvee location ever again! I also expect an apology from the store manager! Not acceptable behavior! read more

HyVee seems to be my go to grocery store through out the metro - even at the Lake of the Ozarks. They always have the brands I am looking for, the shelves are for the most part stocked. And everyone is willing to take the time to help - other stores I can't even find an employee let alone one that will show me where an item is located. I love this store since its recent remodel!You get the feeling of an open air city market when you first walk in and see all the fresh produce displays. And the lighting makes everything look wonderful, and works magic on the produce. Other than the sticker shock, it's a pleasure to shop because it's so bright and clean and open, and there are several upscale/gourmet sections, and organic items. I left off one star because it was hard to find help later in the evening on a weeknight, AND the prices went way up...probably to help pay for the remodel! Just one example...I LOVE Hint's fruit flavored still water, but at $1.99/bottle, this is the most expensive I've seen anywhere. If you need a quick gift or just want a nice surprise for someone special, the flowers and gift section right inside the front door has been greatly expanded. They even had gorgeous fresh peonies in several colors, including coral! But again, the prices might "wow" you as much as the gifts! read more

I bought a sale item; the young clerk missed it. That's ok, but when I asked him to credit the $2 off, he said I should have taken a picture of the sale price. I asked for a manager, and he pointed to her. She walked back to the item, and came back to credit me. It wasn't the mistake; it was the way the young man handled the transaction. A year ago I would have given this store 3 stars but the new and improved HyVee in Lenexa offers something totally different. It's just beautiful, inviting, and overall provides a unique and pleasant shopping and dining experience. With a wide variety of prepared foods, a gourmet selection in the bakery, a gorgeous dining area, and a built in Starbucks, buying groceries is just one of the options when walking into this store. They're still under a bit of construction it seems, but overall it's complete, and it's worth a trip. read more

What the freak dude. I ordered a corsage a few days in advance and went in to pick it up. After leaving the store I looked at it more closely and realized it didn't look right at all. I went to McKeevers market down the road and the florist there told me that the Hyvee messed up. The hyvee florist made a boutonnière and added a wrist strap to it. I went back to hyvee and was dumbfounded when they tried to convince me it was just a different style of corsage. The McKeevers florist were really nice and were 100% convinced that the Hyvee florist tried to turn a boutonnière into a corsage. This is my local neighborhood, Hy-Vee! For sure, the complete grocery in the area. It was an older grocery, but they have done a great job with the renovation, where you would never even know the age of the building. Very clean inside with a friendly staff. They have a cafe area for eating, pharmacy, bakery, butcher, floral, and all the common areas a grocer should have. You can't go wrong with Hy-Vee establishments! read more

I have shopped at HyVee for years. Jeanine was standing today watching the self check out registers, she came up to me asking if I rang up my water that was on the bottom. I told her YES, when I finished paying I took my receipt up to her and told her, it's the first item rang up. She was offended that I would do that to her. I was offended that she would ask.. Why don't you put that energy into making sure that items ring up correctly?? When I bring back items that rang up incorrectly, you act like it is a hassle.. Very close to the hotel where we stay in Lenexa when we come to the KC area. Whether it's items we forgot to pack or flowers for friends, we can always find what we need here. The store is really nice, the staff is helpful, and it's all very familiar and priced reasonably. It's all part of the home-away-from-home vibe we go for when we do long weekend getaways from our home in Omaha to rest and relax in the KC area. Well-done, HyVee! Seems to be set up to screw the customer in every way possible through the manipulation of their computer systems. We have an issue with an overcharge almost every time. Today was the most recent with an advertised special of 85% ground beef for sale at $2.49/lb. maximum allowed was 3 pounds. Asked and received 3 one pound packages of it and I will say the employees at the meat counter are excellent. Come to checkout and of course only 2 of the 3 packages rang up at the sale price, when we went to the customer service counter we received a credit but it was wrong I told her which one was wrong and she didn't listen. When we got home I examined the original receipt tape and the credit tape the refund was $1.00 instead of the $3.50 it should have been. They will see me again in the next day or two with the ground beef packages and both receipts. THIS KIND ON NONSENSE IS A REGULAR OCCURANCE! My husband and I went to this location to pick up some groceries. It's a simple enough job, right? At first, it was fine. We had to grab the clean carts outside of the store, and the initial impression was great. The produce section was excellent - the nectarines were huge! However, the rest of the story isn't as positive. Because of the renovation, the entire store is in a constant state of disarray. We expected some level of mess, but this was beyond bad. There were major stocking issues that can't be attributed to construction. The signs to help shoppers find dairy, for example, would point to one area where more signs would point to another area. We gave up after about 15 minutes. This wasn't worth it. Worse yet, the staff here are miserable and show it. The management put just two cashiers out, and lines were 3-4 people deep. For us, we're going to keep avoiding this location. Maybe it'll be better after a remodel or maybe we just came on a bad day. However, looking at the stocking issues and price increases has made us never want to return. read more

The store was nice, and clean. we were greeted by someone who was giving out samples. The sample wasn't bad as we walked to the store it wasn't that crowded. I had a few things on sale they also have some free Pham. Jamie was our cashier who checked the cell and she seem to be a little impatient. I was with a older person checking out and she needs to understand that when you're dealing with customers or the public. You have to have patience. read more

It's a grocery store, it's got lots of stuff to buy, but it tends to have things other stores may not. It's always clean and usualy well stocked, rarely seen any long lines at checkout, but they happen on rare ocasions. Checkout is always easy, and they have no self check outs. There isn't much I can say about it, it's a grocery store and it's clean and well stocked with a large varity of items.It has a nice big parking lot and is easy to get to. Plenty of places to return your cart to as well. read more

I really enjoy this HyVee not only is it right around the corner from my house but it's one of the nicest ones I've in. For Me to give a grocery store 5 stars must say a lot. The theme song there's a helpful smile in every isle holds very true with this location. Everytime I go here the people are very very friendly and are willing to go that extra mile to help me out. For one example I was looking for a specific yogurt and they were out on the shelf. They sent to employees to different areas to see if there were any extras. The worst store that it's available with the constructions on the entrance throughout the whole store on the inside, there's a big hole on the checkout area that people need to pass by with a piece of wood covering the hole (It's not that stable). There's dust in the products and in the air as well because of the workers doing everything with the customers around. Hy-Vee positions itself as having "a helpful smile in every aisle." For the most part, that's what you get at any of their locations. This particular one lies right on my route home from work, so on the occasion that we're out of particular items that I know our regular store doesn't carry, I'll stop by here. It's been a few years, but I once worked as an overnight stocker in a grocery store...so I have at least a bit of knowledge about it. The one thing I've noticed about Hy-Vee stores in general is that they don't appear to check stock properly on some items. A recent stop here for a few things, I also needed some tortillas...and two packages I picked up were riddled with mold. Had anybody been checking and rotating stock properly, that might not have happened. Needless to say, I didn't get my tortillas that day, and ended up stopping at my regular grocery store. That was disappointing, but not a deal breaker. It does solidify my choice that Hy-Vee not be our primary grocery provider though. I've gotten items from the hot deli at this location, and have enjoyed what I've gotten too! I'm glad to see such a great selection of artisan cheeses (something that Hy-Vee does very well, especially at the 95th & Antioch location) read more

This is one of the better HyVee's. Although the produce is sometimes lacking i.e. not as fresh as it could be, or they ran out. But they have a great deli and meat department. We like to make our own sausage and if you call them and ask them they will save the fat they trim off of pork or beef so you can mix it it with your wild game meat to make sausage and it is free. They have great brats at normally 10 for $10 but sometimes you can get them 10 for $8. They run meat specials all the time, so you are sure to find something there. The health food/organic section is pretty good. If you don't have the time to go to Whole Foods, they carry a decent variety of soy, rice and coconut alternative products. They will make specials orders for you if they don't usually carry an item you want. You just have to order what ever the minimum is on that product and they will get it for you. The isles are pretty well stocked and if they are out of something they will rain check it for you. The managers at this store also help out by finding things for you, sacking groceries or ringing you out. Everyone pitches in at this location. read more

It provides a clean and pleasant shopping experience and it's big enough to offer great selections on things without being gigantic. read more

Called ahead asking about Easter brunch, was told they had it until 2:00 pm. Drove clear there, it ended at noon. I met the customer service desk know, as I walked away the worker laughed. I wasn't pleased by this so I responded there was no reason to laugh at me. I called the number back and he still said it was open until 2:00. Awful customer service. Came in around 7:30am and there was one check out lane open with a line of about 5 people. Cashier was having issues with customer checking out so it was taking awhile.Multiple workers passed doing nothing and a manager standing staring at the line building and no one helped out. I just moved to the area and have visited this Hy-vee twice and both times I ended up at home with expired food! This is pretty disgusting since one of them was cheese that went bad two months ago! I suppose I should have paid better attention before I purchased the items but as a grocery store they should be responsible for purging the expired food. I will not be going back to this store. After purchasing some juice and was leaving, I was accosted by a worker in the outer doorway, where he accused me of stealing. I was shocked and confused, as I had just paid for this, and I saw him in the store by the self-checkout registers. Why he picked me out of all the people there to accuse of theft is beyond me, unless he thought me being a disabled person with a cane makes me suspicious! He refused to listen and was aggressive and humiliating me in front of other people. I showed him my receipt--and another customer (a kind lady who was very supportive) tried to comfort me after that horrible experience. I had had one of the worst days ever and was exhausted from being ill and was just trying to get home, and this made me see very quickly that I will never return to this store. I called one of the managers when I got into my car, and I was very angry with the way they treated me and didn't try to make things right. I don't understand if they have all of these cameras at each register, then why attack innocent people who don't wish to be treated as a criminal? NEVER AGAIN. Find another store! read more

Highly impressed with this location!!! Came here to do some grocery shopping and pick out a cake with my cousin. This Hy-Vee seems pretty big compared to my local Hy-Vee. I didn't really know where everything was but because it was so organized, everything was easy to find. The presentation of fruits and vegetables were so nicely laid out. And then just looking down each of the aisles, you can see that everything was so organized and aligned! This store is pretty clean and looks very nice! The workers here are very nice too, from the lady who gave free samples of the crab, pasta and cheese gratin (which was so delicious btw that I just had to take a copy of the recipe with me!) to the lady who wrote on our cake and even helped to find decorations for it (her handwriting was beautiful!) to the gentleman who spoke over the intercom thanking the customers for choosing this location and even right to our lady cashier! She noticed as she was scanning our bread that the packaging was sliced and notified us about it so that we could quickly go grab another bag. How thoughtful and considerate! Also, they offer some really beautiful-looking three-tiered cakes to order in their catalog. More than your standard child-themed cakes! Besides the weird parking lot, I'm very happy with this location. I've found everything I needed and am impressed by the organization of items as well as overall customer service.
