I had a really great 2-day and 1-night stay here! The location is close to stores like Starbucks, Coldstone, and Levi's. It's also very close to the downtown area. From the hotel I was able to walk to downtown and explore cute shops! The staff was also amazing! They were quick and thoughtful with the check-in/check-out process. When we had an issue with the TV, they came over quickly and helped us troubleshoot it. They also were helpful when I realized I forgot my toothbrush. Very much high-end hotel experience. I was also able to study in the lounge which was quiet and peaceful. I will say, I didn't exactly love the sliding door in the bathroom. It doesn't lock (or if it did, I wasn't able to figure it out) so there's not much privacy. I've been seeing this sliding bathroom door trend among many hotels, so this isn't a negative towards this specific hotel. Overall, it was a great experience and I would stay again! Rooms are clean and spacious. Water pressure is weak in the shower, and the refillable bottles of shampoo, conditioner, and body wash are locked and tamper-proof. The AC is weak -- the lowest you can set it at is 66 degrees but it feels closer to 70. Nice spacious rooftop pool deck with plenty of seating, cabanas for rent, and a bar. Rooms are pretty quiet and you can only hear people in the hallway slightly. Beds are comfortable but the pillows are a little flat. Rooms have a charger stand for iPhones and Apple Watches on the nightstand, which is really convenient. Staff is very friendly. There is a marketplace in the lobby where you can grab coffee, breakfast, and other food items. There is a parking ramp available. Great location within Pike Outlets, with shopping and coffee shops less than a five minute walk away. It's right across the street from Shoreline Village. read more

The location of this hotel is very convenient. Walkable to the convention center, outlets, and even the Aquarium of the Pacific! Family friendly as the rooms are very sound proof with thick carpets. Beds were very comfy and the room was exceptionally clean. We manage a tree nut allergy and the staff was very considerate and helpful to help keep us safe by thoroughly cleaning. I was in need of sanitary products at one point and the front desk graciously sent someone to bring them to our room. Would definitely stay here again! read more

Personally, I LOVE this Hyatt Centric. I bounce btwn the Hyatt Regency LB, which is just about .25 miles away and adjacent to the LB Convention Center, but if I'm doing a walkable staycation and don't plan on driving during my stay, I choose Hyatt Centric at The Pike. The Pike refers to a shopping and entertainment area within this city block. So it's real convenient to restaurants, outlets, a movie theatre, and ALLLL the Long Beach Harbor and Shoreline Village offer: shopping, a arcade with carousel, Long Beach Aquarium of the Pacific, Shoreline Aquatic Park, Long Beach Pier, LB Boat Rentals and Wheel Fun Rentals. Not to mention a really nice, easy walkway along the shoreline with postcard views of the Queen Mary. Hyatt Regency is great of you're attending a conference at the convention center and can write off biz expenses. Otherwise, I find the parking fees, even with in/out privileges for guest, to be steep($44/nt self; $49/nt valet), I addition to the "Destination Fee" ($30) charged at Hyatt Regency. NOW, that being said, sometimes they have package deals, so these fees can be absorbed. Compare it to Hyatt Centric The Pike, where you will be parking at a Long Beach City Public Parking structure next-door to the Hyatt Centric(separate review), NOT having in/out privileges, unless you pay each time you leave, but paying $24/day and no "Destination Fee", and I think Hyatt Centric makes more sense for pedestrian explorers. Since both hotels are within the same walking areas, choose what works best for you, but those are my strongest considerations for choosing at which Hyatt in downtown LB I'll be staying. Hubs doesn't give a rip. LOL Anywho, here is ALSO why Hyatt Centric feels "homier" to me. First and foremost - THE STAFF!!!! Jorge, Dir. of Operations, reached out ahead of my arrival(standard), but continued to be of assistance when I engaged with him about my stay and what our celebrations for the New Year would be. Very thoughtful. Emma was friendly and very helpful in checking us in and making sure I received all my Hyatt Member amenities and perks. David, Front Office Manager, followed up to see that our stay was a successful and happy one and to further offer any assistance for future stays. Throughout our stay, we were greeted by staff cheerfully, but they never imposed. Honestly, remember when Hyatt use to boast about "the Hyatt Touch"? THIS is what they meant. They may not refer to that in marketing, but Hyatt Centric The Pike Long Beach seems to be one property that is still very committed to this idea. I have been staying at this property since it was an Avia. Hyatt purchased the property in 2011 and began renovations in 2012, which I believe finished in 2020, just in time for a pandemic to hit. We came back in 2021 to beautiful new decor that really features the sights synonymous to Long Beach, but especially the harbor and nautical history. Cute details like hallway lights resembling portholes, or some Queen Mary history lessons in the elevator halls, highlighting her use during WWII. The wallpaper in the rooms, has a focus wall of an aerial shot of the shipping containers at the Port of LB, and the carpet coordinates a flow of that same idea. Yeeesssss..., in some areas the decor is already looking a bit worn, but I believe its a pretty popular property so I don't mind because it's all familiar, comfortable and there are no problems with anything broken. Amenities! I ADORE the roof poolside patio for city scapes and views of the Queen Mary during any season. I'm not typically a pool user, but have dipped during especially hot weather when staycationing here. Plenty of room to spread out! I find the rooms really comfy, and plenty big, the shower and bathroom fabulous! A cozy robe, efficiency fridge, Keurig with pods, extra blankets and pillows and motion sensor lights on the bed frame, assisting your way to a middle of the night bathroom sesh. Also available: gym, water stations, poolside cabanas(for a fee), poolside lounge chairs and seasonal rooftop bar, a business center, free wi-fi throughout and meeting/banquet rooms. They also have a really cute outside patio on the ground floor, adjacent to the lobby, that the banquet rooms can open onto featuring a HUGE chess board! Each of our stays at Hyatt Centric The Pike LB has had a special memory. I'm already planning my next stay. HC@TPLB makes a PERFECT location for a long Catalina Island Day trip! Catalina Express is a short, easy, maybe 5min, walk and then coming back to a cozy room after a Catalina excursion is the icing on the cake. I plan on booking for the night before, to catch the earliest(calmest seas are early morning) boat the next AM, then returning to our room after we return on the last boat back, around 8pm. Visited the location for my annual Toyotafest car meet. I must rant and rave about how accommodating and welcoming the staff are. My business schedule made me accidentally booked the wrong days, but the staff was my hero by changing the date at a beater rate than Hotels.com, and a better room. LOVED the stay here! we were pleasantly suprised by how nice the room and amenities were. the bed in the room was delightful, and i sunk right into it. the room also had a nice large shower and a large window that opened up along a busy street which i enjoyed. one of my favorite parts of this place was the location because it is within walking distance from the mall, the beach, multiple coffee shops, and a theatre. many other things too! the theme of this place is "ship" i think because there were many decorations that looked like it would be apart of a boat. lastly, there is a nice courtyard with fun games to play, along with seating area. this would be a great area for kids or lounging. i would definitely stay here again!! read more

I had a very disappointing experience at the Hyatt Centric at the pike outlets. When I brought up concerns about my stay, the general manager asked me to step into a back room to discuss them and in a creepy setting. I felt uncomfortable being taken away from the front desk, and the conversation left me feeling pressured rather than heard. Instead of addressing my concerns professionally, I felt that my questions were dismissed and that the explanations I received were inconsistent. From my perspective, the interaction came across as manipulative, and it left me with little confidence that my concerns were being handled honestly or respectfully. To make matters worse, I was charged additional fees that I do not believe I should have been responsible for. Despite trying to resolve the issue, the customer service I received was poor, and I left feeling frustrated and disappointed. I expect transparency, professionalism, and respectful communication when issues arise, especially from hotel management. Unfortunately, that was not my experience here, and I would not choose to stay at this property again. read more

I was very disappointed with my stay at Hyatt Centric at The Pike Outlets. Based on the photos online, I expected a much nicer experience, but the room felt much smaller than it appeared in the pictures and didn't match my expectations. The pool area was also disappointing. During my visit, it appeared messy and didn't look well maintained, which made it much less enjoyable than I had anticipated. What stood out the most, however, was the customer service. Unfortunately, it was the worst part of my stay. I never felt welcomed or valued as a guest. My concerns were not handled with professionalism or empathy, and I left feeling dismissed rather than helped. Hospitality should make guests feel comfortable and respected, but that was not my experience here. To make matters worse, I was charged a $250 smoking fee despite the fact that I did not smoke in the room. The situation was mistreated, unable to provide evidence or show us the room after checkout to see what they're experiencing. No communication was made about the final charges at checkout. Overall, between the misleading expectations from the photos, the condition of the common areas, the small rooms, and the poor customer service, I would not choose to stay at this location again. There are many other hotels in the area that offer a much better guest experience for the price. read more

This is a great location if you are going to the convention center, only about 2 blocks away. Right next to the Pike outlet mall, which can get pretty busy. It was pretty noisy over the weekend. They were having some issues with one of the elevators so it took a long time to get an elevator. Almost got stuck on the elevator one night. The room was nice but the beds had lights on the bed frame that had a motion sensor. It's a nice feature for getting up in the dark but it's extremely sensitive so several times I rolled over in bed and it went off and the light from the bed next to me was shining in my face. The restaurant is good, had breakfast a couple of times there. read more

Came here from SD to have a weekend getaway. Our stay here was such a pleasant surprise! It's clean, quiet, and has a really charming nautical theme with beautiful deep blue tones throughout. The atmosphere feels relaxing and upscale without being stuffy. The staff were friendly and attentive, and the beds were super comfortable, but the pillows could have been softer. You have a great view from the roof top pool /bar area however the bar never opened when we were there. The location couldn't be better tho, you can easily walk to shops, restaurants, the beach, and even the Queen Mary is a short drive. When we checked in, we were given a free upgrade so that our little could have a bed instead of the sofa couch. Outstanding customer service in my opinion! The parking wasn't bad at all. We stayed here just one night because we were attending a wedding. It is pricey but the location is great. We could walk to the reception at Gladstones because we were so close. The room is a bit small and they really should get a regular door for the bathroom. It is just a barn door that slides, which doesn't offer much privacy when it comes to noise in the restroom. There's also no fan, which could be bad if you are staying there with someone else. The AC was fine. Black out curtains and bed were outstanding.- very snuggly. I got great zzzs. The TV was also good, except there's no way to connect and stream. The front desk was friendly and we got checked in quickly. They even have text messaging so I was able to communicate when I was arriving to make sure there was a room available as I needed a room before check- in time (which is way too late (4pm) IMO). Hyatt at Pike has it all. It is in a great location, close to shopping and the heart of Long Beach, and within walking distance of some decent restaurants (and a Starbucks). It's also within Uber/Lyft distance of the Long Beach region, so you get to enjoy Belmont Shores, a bit of Huntington Beach and some of Torrance if you do not have transportation or choose not to drive. And for those traveling via cruise, it is an ideal location -- and on the right side of the bay. The hotel doesn't offer its own parking. There is a paid parking lot across the street, so park in the loading zone out front to check in and unload. You have to pay every time you exit, and the cost for 24 hour is about $25. Note: There are several hotel options closer to the Port of Long Beach but if you want to enjoy some of the life before you head out on your cruise, that's not where you want to be. This side of the bay is where you want to be -- again, for the convenience I mentioned above. The king suite is comfortable enough. On the smaller size with no sections, however. So if you prefer some privacy from your room companion(s) while traveling, this is not the hotel for you. In-room amenities are sparse. You do get a mini cooler (not a fridge) and a coffee maker. But not micro and no kitchenettes here. You can, however, order a mini fridge -- which I did. But it was never delivered. The staff, however, is mostly attentive and accommodating. One surprise is that there is a bellhop here, and he is serious about the job! He will take the cart and load without you asking, and he must accompany you to your room. Old school traditional. Wasn't expecting that here, so be sure to have tip cash on the ready. Same with the restaurant and bar. You will be in good hands if you have a chance to be served by Richard. The restaurant is not full service, as in I would not plan a dinner here (though the breakfast menu has solid offerings). It's a great in-between place: a lounge before you go out on the town and a relaxing space if you don't want to spend time in your room, but would rather be mellow with a beverage and treat with a book. The pool (heated to about 85 degrees) is on the 8th floor, and has the best views. In fact, I don't believe there are any bay or ocean views from the rooms here. I requested one and was told that the construction as of late obstructs views. More on the pool: There is a shower, restrooms, cabanas (at no cost to use) and a pool bar (which was not open during the off season). As for costs -- it's pricey. It's Long Beach. It's California. Even with all the benefits, I cannot justify the cost, but it was a comfortable and very convenient stay. read more

10 out of 10 stay. We stood Saturday the 15th and rented out one of the day beds by the pool.....best decision ever. We were able to lounge pool side and treated like royalty by the rooftop bar staff. Strong drinks and good eats all afternoon until check in. The rooftop view was FANTASTIC, able to see the Ferris wheel and the Queen Mary. The WHOLE staff as a unit were AWESOME, I have never been treated so well and felt so welcome by such a friendly staff, from check in to check out every last one of the staff was well trained in the hospitality industry. Our room was clean and fresh and it had a very artsy feel to it, very impressed. And the long roomy shower was also a plus. I HIGHLY recommend a stay at the Centric and I also feel you should pay the extra fee for the day bed or cabana.....makes you feel like a big shot. read more

Top notch stay during 4th of July weekend. Even though hotel seemed fully booked given activity at lobby, it was quiet in hallways and not at all noisy. The room we had on the 7th floor was flawless and clean, with a tasteful nautical themed design. We had a great view of the shopping mall and bay area. The windows opened slightly for fresh sea breezes and the bed was comfortable. The highlight though was the AMAZING bathroom and overhead shower! It was so delightful to shower and feels like years since I've had such forceful water pressure at a hotel. We had a great visit and would most definitely come back. It's super close to the Convention Center. They don't have parking on-site but there is a parking lot right next door that you can utilize. The hotel doesn't offer breakfast, though they do have a market in the lobby with a fair amount of options for purchase. The fitness center has just enough equipment to get a good workout in while out of town, including a water machine and cool towels. Needed to stay one night so we would not need to rush or worry about flight delays and/or cancellations. Our flight was delayed going to LGB and going back to SJCC. Bet folks are regretting terminating individuals that chose not to vaccinate their body, their choice! Anyway. This hotel is chic.. in the heart of a plaza filled w/ stores and restaurants. It's about a 12 min. drive from the airport. They have a very small fitness center; (it is great if you do cardio, but if you want to train, go to an actual gym instead). Though small, but very clean and equipped w/ damp towels to cool you down and water to hydrate you. You will need your room keycard to operate the elevator - adds an element of safety. After midnight (or 11PM PST), you will also need your room keycard to get into the hotel. If you ask for water, front desk will give you a complimentary bottled water. The service was excellent. The room was amazing. We loved room, but we were mainly impressed w/ the bathroom. It was spacious, well lit, loved the 2 shower heads available, and the Dry Bar hairdryer that they have to offer in each room. Definitely would recommend, however if you are sensitive to noise, don't stay here. Since you are in the plaza, you will hear people chatter and cars going in/out. We got there after 9PM, so the noise level wasn't a concern. read more

Highlights: Soft pillow top bed! Cute decor that highlights the local area with a nautical theme. Rooftop pool had nice views. Watercraft, the adjoining restaurant, had good breakfast. But hey, this could be a highlight for you. Gym is small with old equipment. Parking is in the structure across the street, not affiliated with hotel. Up to $16 for 24 hours, but could be more if you move your car in/out. Not work friendly -- no comfortable desk/chair to work at. Couch in the room was old and sunken in. I enjoyed our two night stay at this hotel. When I booked it, I didn't realize it was so close to the shops and I appreciated it being so. The traffic wasn't busy and it was an half hour Uber ride from LAX. The check process was easy as I received an email and could click to check in. We just had to pick up our hotel cards at the front desk. It's good security as you need to beep your card to use the elevator. There's a water station by the elevators with cups so I found that handy. The room was clean, tidy, and comfortable. The washroom was large with two sinks and a rain shower type shower head. The TV was big and temperature control was working well. The hotel has an outdoor seating area, computers, and two microwaves on the main floor by the washrooms. There's also a bar and cafe that serves baked goods, coffee drinks, and a basic menu items. I stopped by for a cookie and paid with cash and the cashier had to dig into her purse for change and ended up giving herself a 20% tip! I didn't say anything nor did I come back to buy anything. There is a Starbucks that's a short walk away with better service, prices and drinks. I'm glad we stayed here as it was a short ride to the cruise port and there was many restaurants, shops, and areas to walk that were close by. read more

We've stayed at The Centric Pike about 6 times. We've always had good experiences, but this time the employees seemed exceptional in their friendliness. From Darnell's personable and punny sense of humor at check-in (welcomed after the long drive), to the laid back welcoming vibe and creativity of Richard's and Alex's excellent cocktail mixes, to the general push the elevator buttons for us when our hands were full by a passing employee, to the thoughtfulness of holding cleaning trolleys when exiting room, to the door greeter opening the lobby door with a smile, a thank you for staying, and well wishes for a safe travel - EVERYONE was effortlessly friendly and welcoming. Our deluxe room was perfectly clean, comfortable, and very quiet and relaxing (admittedly that's just the luck of the draw with neighbors). This is 3rd time we visit Hyatt Centic The Pike long beach. The hotel has a great location here located in the Pike shopping center, you can walk to downtown Long Beach and Shoreline Village. It's very convenient. They don't have a Valet parking, but there is The Pike parking structure next to the hotel, it's $16/day, $3/hour. Hotel room is great. The room is spacious and has a great taste of interior design with Long beach, the biggest shipping sea port features like the birds view of Long beach Port wall graphics. The temperature control is a digital touch screen which is cool. The bathroom is clean, but I don't like where they put the toilet paper hanger which it's hard for me to get the toilet paper. I don't see any other cups/glass besides 2 coffee disposable cups. I like how they design the room with the bed and sofa layout. The room colors are very nice with ocean blue, yellow and gray. The roof top swimming pool has a gorgeous view of Queen Mary and ocean. It is really relaxing to sit there and get a sun bath. Next to the lobby, they have Watercraft Market + Lounge where we get our breakfast items like egg muffins, coffee and fresh fruits. We really like the location of this hotel, rooftop swimming pool & bar and comfortable room. read more
