We checked in after 6pm, so check in instructions were texted to us. Easy to follow. Was easy to find. We stopped at Wally's Pizza for dinner in Cameron Park based off their restaurant suggestions on their website and sent via text check in instructions. Great suggestion! The next mornings breakfast is texted the night before, offering some options like juice preference. And it's delivered around 9am the next morning. Since we had to be at rafting at 9 our first morning at the Inn, they delivered us fruit, scones, and juice early at 8:15am which was really nice. Breakfast was delicious, both mornings. And super fresh. We stayed in the Cypress room. Was as pictured online. Room was clean. The patio area is nice. We explored the grounds a bit our last morning and saw many places to sit around. We enjoyed some time up at the pond in the morning. The staff - I assume owners - were very friendly. We were very happy with our stay here and would return!

The biggest downside for us was the location -- while the hotel itself is lovely, the surrounding neighborhood didn't feel like a place where we could walk around and explore, so we found ourselves driving elsewhere for dinner and activities. Parking was also limited. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and are glad we experienced it. It's like staying at your old aunt's country home. Be prepared for overdoses in floral prints, from bedspreads to wallpaper. The furniture is extremely cracked, faded, torn and stained. But it's clean. The bathroom in our room (Oak Room) was TINY. I fell over and into the bath, trying to turn around. And breakfast service was pretty cool: fluffy pancakes, hot coffee and some dismal fruit. You get what you pay for.

You're welcome to stroll around the property both the flower farm and the inn side before or after your meal. The parking situation is a gravel lot. So it may not be the most handicap accessible place. We had a lot of fun stopping by Park Winters. They were setting up for a wedding so the inn side would have been closed for the event starting at 1pm. The check also came with a small map of the property for you to keep. This was very helpful in exploring the property. The only caveat is this is the countryside. Wear long pants or be prepared with insect repellent! Even at 10am in the summer my legs were bitten by mosquitoes. (Type O blood. Mosquito magnet here.) I'd like if they burned some citronella candles to help with mosquitoes. The rest of the dining venue was so thoughtfully designed including timed misters (like at theme parks) to help keep the area cool. Definitely check it out if you're curious or in the area.

But don't worry, we took care of her tip. Have a good day." Umm, excuse me? I was a server for over 7 years. First of all, I wouldn't expect a tip after the establishment that failed me by not ensuring they had adequate kitchen supplies to keep a Mother's Day up and running. Additionally, I would have added more staff to the day, which would of course be very busy. And lastly, how are we tipped when you comped the bill and walked away, and nobody had cash? We did not ask for the bill to be comped. So for future reference, dear John I don't recommend calling your customers and bullying them over voicemail. You're the problem, not us.

While it's a bit of a distance to the actual venue, it was well worth it for the quiet, calm and very relaxing environment. Beautiful property and I wish I had time to use the pool outside. We stayed in the Bella Vista honeymoon suite. I loved it. It allowed my husband and I to talk. There's a calming and clarifying vibe to the room and the place in general. Spacious, clean, and comfortable. I would stay here again if I was in the area 100%. I think about this place from time to time. I actually miss it!

I've been intending to write a review for the associated Air BnB (Martha runs it). The Grill/…read morerestaurant portion of the business has closed but Martha saved my caboose in a caffeine emergency! I was staying at an AirBnB in nearby Walnut Grove that was poorly stocked (I didn't book it - was there for a wedding nearby). Turns out - Walnut Grove isn't a grocery haven, meaning - called 6 places looking to purchase coffee to have enough for the duration of the stay (business week). I called 'grocery stores' from google & yelp - there's a 'convenience store' in town and when I called the guy who picked up seemed irritated I'd called asking about what coffee they sold. After being told they sold "coffee in a container that doesn't say how much there is, it's $14 and Folgers but it's in a container too and I don't know how much there is" (Actual quote, laughing out loud remembering), then called cafe's that make/ sold coffee (anywhere I saw latte or cup o joe) & that's how I ended up calling Martha. When she picked up "Hi, I saw that you have a cafe - I'm wondering if you sell coffee beans or grounds" to which she said "well, I have a keurig and you can have those or I can probably make a pot if that's what you prefer". After explaining my dilemma - she offered to sell me loose keurig's to get me through my stay! She seemed ruffled that my AirBnB didn't cover enough for the duration of the stay so looking forward to enjoying her hospitality at the AirBnB in the future! She was heading out to karaoke & I didn't wan to hold her up so I thanked her and relayed I'd suffer non- caffeination while we both laughed. She said I was en route and came by the AirBnB! For $4 (only cash I had on me), she gave me a huge fistful of keurigs (got me through the stay with a couple to spare!) , gave me recommendations for places in town, invited me to karaoke & to swing by the AirBnB (sounds adorable!). Martha was such a wonderful breathe of fresh air! If I'm ever in this part of Sacramento again, I know the AirBnB I'm checking out & have excellent tips on where to eat/ peruse in town! We parked on the street but there is a public parking area in the back.

This was one of the most disappointing customer service experiences I've ever had. Because of that history, I never expected to be treated this way. We experienced a genuine family emergency that forced us to leave early and requested a refund for our unused Sunday and Monday nights. These were weekday nights not a weekend or holiday, and the hotel kept 100% of the charges for both nights despite us not being there. What made the situation even worse was the amount of time we had to spend going back and forth during an already stressful family emergency. The front desk staff repeatedly told us they understood and agreed a refund was appropriate, but the owner instructed them not to issue one. For several days, staff members seemed confused about the situation, while the owner/manager refused to respond to phone calls or text messages. We were left waiting, following up repeatedly, and receiving no direct communication from the person making the decision. I understand businesses have cancellation policies, but there should also be room for compassion and reasonable discretion, especially for LOYAL, repeat guests who have spent thousands of dollars over the years and have personally referred many others to stay here. Unfortunately, this experience erased years of goodwill. Customer service is tested when something unexpected happens, and this hotel failed that test. We will NEVER stay here again, and after this experience, I can no longer recommend it to friends, family, or clients. What a HUGE disappointment Cottage Grove. Not the way you treat your loyal customers.

For example, I opened my door and my kitten ran out of the room. There were two housekeeping women nearby and both helped me corner him with their carts to get him to hide under one of them. I was very grateful to get him back so quickly! No bedbugs as another review stated, at least in 2024-25. I've no doubt they'll address it right away as long as it's got the same management. I don't know if they do, but everyone else seemed to like it for the same reasons I do! They also have a laundry room. The prices are about the same as any other laundry. Maybe a bit more, but you can't beat the convenience! In conclusion, food was VERY good (I ordered from the bar several times) bar was VERY good (nice selection, great service), housekeeping was GREAT, all the employees were GREAT, room was GREAT. I'd definitely stay there again with absolutely no hesitation.
