I don't normally review hotels, but I wanted to compliment the staff. From the very first interaction with the valet to final check out, each experience we had was so positive. The woman during check-in was so pleasant and friendly. This morning when I went downstairs to grab breakfast, I asked for two lattes with soy milk. I asked her if I could come back because I needed to grab something from my room. The phone in my room rang, which I tried to answer but didn't answer in time. When I got back downstairs, she said she was the one that called. She wanted to let me know that they were out of soy milk and if I still wanted my drinks. I have no idea how she knew which room is was staying in! I ended up ordering my two lattes and asked her to charge them to the room. When I went to checkout and asked for my charges, she said, "Don't worry about the drinks, I took care of it!" All around great customer service! read more

Brought the kids to stay the night and swim in the pool. They were out of my requested 2 queen beds but we made due with a king bed and queen sofa pull out bed. Manager even gave us a room with "views". Corner room that overlooked the city. Room was pretty clean. All extra linen that we asked for was delivered. I went to the desk for more soap and even to my surprise, they even had lady pads :) the Bar is sort of attached to the front desk receptionist disk. Around 10p on a Friday night the bartender was also the re eptionisht so there was a slight wait for everyone. The pool is pretty small and was filled with kids. Pool went from around 3ft to only 4. U need a key card to access. Breakfast was undesirable. Long line of ppl af 8am. Everyone had to wait for plate, cups. Food on and off. There were 2 areas of the same food but ppl didnt know that (until someone came three to replenish plates and yelled the info). Standard bagels/ bread, boiled and scrambled eggs. Pancakes were hard. Cold fruit, oatmeal/ cereal. Juices and milk. Area is walkable to a ton of food places and maybe 15 min walk to inner harbor.I would stay here just for a nice getaway every now and then. read more

Staff are truly wonderful, so friendly. The location is great. Breakfast is good. Rooms are smaller than I'm used to in Hyatt but ok. The only two problems were housekeeping not coming once even though we requested it (3 night stay) and a natural gas smell periodically in the room (not human). read more

We're traveling with my son and his girlfriend, the entire car ride I'm saying: Man I can wait to make everyone waffles in the morning! Mmm mm Hyatt Place Baltimore is located in a great part of the city. We were just passing thru for one night, I wish we had more time to enjoy the area. We walk into a contemporary looking hotel. Check in was a breeze. I just came off the highway, I asked if there were any complimentary drinks, there are nada at the Hyatt Place Baltimore. There's a coffee maker in the room? Yeah.. I'm good. Thanks We're whisked up to our suite. Walking into an inviting space, we have a corner room and have windows that view the entire city. I thought that was kinda cool. The kids have a pull out sofa and we're right next to them in our king size bed. The bathroom is very large and spacious, so far good. We decide to use the pool facilities. What type of "Get Smart" operation is this?? There's a system to entering and leaving the pool. One door needs to close before you can open the other door. My wife was nervous trying to figuring it all out so she stuck a chair in the door! Next to the pool is a small garden area where you can relax outside in a semi sunny spot. After a great night sleep, I'm ready to make waffles! We all shower and go downstairs to the buffet. It's a typical buffet: different juices, toast & hard boiled eggs, assorted cereals and cooked waffles in a tin. What?!? They made the waffles for us. It's like an eggo at this point, the thrill is gone... Parking, we had to use a lot behind the hotel. It was a block away which wasn't a biggie for us. If you have special needs, I'm sure the hotel can make arrangements for you. Hyatt Place Baltimore at the Inner Harbor, nice place to visit. My family and I had a great experience at the Hyatt Place while visiting the Inner Harbor. Check in and out were both very easy, and all of the staff members were kind and helpful. The hotel itself was very clean and had a nice modern touch. I thought the location was perfect. A 10 minute walk to the Harbor and 5 mins to Fells Point and Little Italy. There are a ton of great restaurants in Little Italy that you can easily walk to. I felt the area was safe and was comfortable walking around. We had 2 adjoining rooms and it worked out perfectly for my family. The happy hour specials in the lobby were a nice touch. I would stay here again! read more

This hotel was in a great location next to little Italy and fells point and was in walking distance to the inner harbor. It was a little far away but you could still make it over to Camden yards on foot. I felt safe and the hotel staff was super friendly. We had an extremely disappointing and frustrating experience at your hotel due to the behavior of Alex, the front desk clerk. Despite having fully paid for our room in advance, Alex booked us into a room that he had already given to someone else. When we went up to the room and tried to open the door, a startled lady inside the room opened the door and said she'd checked in 10 minutes ago. We went back to the front desk. We informed Alex of the situation and asked for an explanation. How was a room already assigned to us now occupied by another guest? Alex failed to offer any apology or reasonable explanation. Instead, he appeared, sweaty, frazzled and flustered, clearly unable to handle the situation. This mishap not only inconvenienced us but also left a negative impression of the hotel's service standards. His inability to handle the situation professionally left us feeling extremely dissatisfied and disappointed with the service. This incident has greatly impacted our overall impression of your hotel. We were left with no place to stay after traveling from Connecticut to Baltimore, arriving tired and exhausted. Upon arrival Alex did not ask for ID and/or credit card as is customary at all hotels. He simply asked for name on the booking and proceeded to hand us the keys to the room. This incident raises serious concerns regarding Hyatt's security standards and protocols. Does Hyatt management care about the safety of their guests? We could have walked in on a guest sleeping or taking a shower. Alex's conduct was unprofessional, dishonest and incompetent. read more

I think the hotel is definitely worth a stay. We went during Spring Break when the kids were out of school, and were fortunate to get a room. The walls must be sound proof because we never heard a peep from the other rooms. It wasn't until the next morning when we went downstairs for the complimentary breakfast that we realized how full of kids the hotel actually was. There were literally no seats available for my party of four. We had to wait until people decided they were done going up for seconds and thirds, I mean how inconsiderate, this isn't an all you can eat buffet. I personally wasn't impressed with the breakfast, which consisted of eggs, bacon, french toast, toast, cottage cheese and a berry marmalade, boiled eggs, and cold cereal. And orange juice, which appeared to be generic and apple juice, with not so tasty coffee. One of my children got the runs later that day. Any who, the rooms were quite spacious. The beds/pillows were just ok. After day 2, I was ready to get back to my bed. We did however have plenty of towels, and when we needed more, we called to house-keeping whom quickly brought more right up. The building is in a perfect location to plenty of restaurants, shops, a Whole Foods, and I believe a CVS. This hotel does NOT offer Free Onsite Parking; there is Valet or Self-Parking in the parking garage behind the building for a daily/nightly fee. Or, you can try your luck with street parking, which you will need to move at 8am I was told. We opted for self-parking, and the car stayed parked til it was time to depart. We enjoyed the easy walk. And when we crossed the harbor to eat, we discovered their was a free water taxi that would bring us back over. Unfortunately, we didn't visit the pool but perhaps another time. If I ever re-visit Baltimore, I would definitely consider staying here again. read more

I asked my friend who lives in the area where to stay in Baltimore, and he suggested Fells Point as a walkable/safe area with lots of good food. I often stay at Hyatts, and this was a good price, so it seemed like the perfect choice. I will say from the second we checked in, to the time we left, the staff went above and beyond, greeting us with enthusiasm, showing us the pool area, constantly making sure we were ok. The staff here was probably the best hotel staff I've ever encountered, including the maintenance man who made us feel very welcomed! The room itself was pretty standard, but felt spacious and we appreciated the mini fridge. The location was great and we were able to walk almost everywhere. CVS and Whole Foods were practically next door too, so everything was super easy. read more

While in town my friends and I stayed here for one night while attending a concert in town. The staff was friendly and welcoming both at check-in and during checkout. Our room was just what we needed two queens and a sofa with a pullout bed. Our room was fairly quiet. The hallways were clean. The hotel was clean as well. Breakfast was pretty good. We took our breakfast to go I wish they had to go lids for guests that decide to grab breakfast before leaving. Pros include pretty central location to inner harbor, restaurants as well as shopping. Only two cons we had was that there was still a few pieces of trash left in the trash can from the previous guests and valet being the only hotel parking option offered was steep. Good news is the Fleet and Eden parking garage directly behind the hotel was really convenient if you don't want to pay $42 a night for the valet parking. Upon check-in we were hit with $25 parking fees per night and $14 yes $14.04 bottles of water to check in because they have none in the room. (4) 12oz Aquafina Now typically I would not bitch if it is a nice place and they have nice rooms and nice beds to sleep in but in this case the beds are very uncomfortable and you get four pillows filled with straw!!! Again very uncomfortable so if you're gonna charge like you're a 5 star hotel then you have a lit of work to do!!! I'll be checking out and going down to the Hilton where I can sleep!!! read more

My visit here was short yet still dramatic. Upon checking in at 1 am​, I asked for the checkout time the following day. I was told checkout would be at 12 pm​. I left my room around 6 am and returned at 11 am​ to finish pack and check out. When I entered my room, my belongings were no longer there. Calmly, I left the room and found the housekeeper where I inquired about my belongings. She stated nonchalantly​, that she packed my things and placed my bags at the front desk. Various thoughts ran through my mind, but I went to the front desk and asked for a confirmation on checkout time. I was informed, again, that check out was12 pm. I then informed the front desk and the manager that my belongings were not in my room where I left them. The manager made a phone call to the housekeeping supervisor and then informed me that she would be bringing down my belongings. During this time, the manager offered to credit me $50 towards my room. I told him this was unacceptable for various reasons, including I was on a business trip and I did not pay for the room personally. When the supervisor arrived with my belongings, I asked her to please explain why someone "checked" me out of my room before check-out. She stated that the staff assumed that I left my room in a hurry and hence they took it upon themselves to call the phone number I had on file and then proceed to pack my bags for me. I told her that I am unsure of Hyatt's check-out policy because I don't usually stay at a Hyatt, however, this story would have made a little more sense to me if it was after 12 pm​ and we were having this conversation. No one was able to provide me with an answer or explanation that I could fathom. I tried to explain​ that I felt vulnerable because I don't know what was placed in my bag or what was taken out of my bag. The housekeeping​ supervisor asked me to do an inventory of my contents and let them know if something was missing. I left the hotel disappointed and confused on so many levels. I have filed a formal complaint with the hotel but as of the writing of this review, I have not received a response. Honestly, I​ have no idea how one could even compensate for this situation. read more

This place is about a mile and 1/2 from the baseball stadium. Our bathroom looked nothing like the pictures above. Ours had no door, you walk in to the vanity, then the toilet and shower was behind a flimsy door. No privacy. Getting to the hotel you pass a shady graffiti tagged building, parking was full, so we had to park behind the building and drag our luggage up a block- not impressed at all with this Hyatt. read more

This hotel is always spotless, providing a great selection of food and beverage items throughout the day, and it sits in prime location. Located right in Harbor East, there is sufficient stores for shopping and endless 5 star dining options. Aside from the aforementioned, the most important reason why I stay at this hotel is the customer service! Charlotte at the front desk and Charles in the valet parking always greet me with smiles and wonderful customer service. Then there is Stan. Stan is has gone above and beyond accommodating me from navigating through 3rd party booking challenges to assisting me with the perfect room for my extended stay! His personality, professionalism and detail of consistent customer care has far exceeded my expectations. I only stay at Hyatt Place Baltimore Inner Harbor when I am in town! read more

Check in was a breeze the 1st Room assigned smelled like mold. Room 521 don't take that room. I Was accommodated To another room immediately. Breakfast at this Hyatt Place wasn't as fresh as some of the others I've visited. The fruit didn't have fresh melons or cantaloupes. No Beacon which is advertised. I was informed by front desk there will be for Sunday. The rooms are outdated my fridge didn't close properly, room service is on point with cleaning your room, & that matters most. I know it is tough providing service during COVID but they did it in spades. I am originally from Baltimore and I was visiting home for the holidays with my partner. I was proud of the service we received and our stay at this location was such a bright spot of the trip. The parking garage was full the entire weekend leaving us to park in a public ( pay for ) parking garage a block away. Our room was never cleaned nor were our towels replaced. New property with very modern appeal. The shower areas and bedding were great. Complete blackout blinds set-up was most well done I've seen. Cons: Unfortunately, the Hyatt Place brands are of the lower Hyatt tiers. The price, even with government rates, was still a little steep for what you got. The valet parking was also pretty steep considering there was a parking deck across the street for $4/night. Lastly, the property was advertised as a special room with a separate area with pull out sleeper sofa. We almost had a friend stay with us and use their area since it implied two distinct areas with privacy -- much to our surprise it was only a partially obstructed view of the couch and very close to the bed. We chose this hotel to stay during Valentine's Day/President's Day weekend because it's new (a little over a year old) and it is located in a nice ,trendy area of Baltimore, MD called : Harbor East. It is close to the Inner Harbor, shops, restaurants and Whole Foods! Location is pretty great, staff is super helpful and nice! I wasn't expecting much from their "grab and go" breakfast, but even then it wasn't great. Their toaster was broken, no coffee out, and overall just very limited (in amounts and selection) of food even with a very large breakfast space. Our room was big, and updated, but there were stains EVERYWHERE, and the shade on our window literally broke off the window when opening it in the morning. I think it's a good spot to stay over night, but I question the price per night with the other factors involved. Also, for the comments complaining about the Valet parking. Most hotels at the heart of any city are going to have Valet parking fees ($25 isn't that bad actually). Look it up before you go to avoid frustration. read more

I was very disappointed with my stay at this hotel. The customer service I received was horrendous. First we called for early check in and the front desk told us the rooms would be ready for when we arrive, when we got there they said they had no idea we called and only one of the two rooms were available, we told them the name of the person we talked to who was also standing at the front desk and he did not come forward to help us at all. They then told me they would text me when the room was ready, I never received the text. Once checked into my room I noticed the ac was broken and the room was 75 degrees. I told the front desk and they told me someone would be up to check on it soon (friday night). I did not receive service until the afternoon of the following day(saturday), and when I complained the night before all they could do was give me a fan. I was told that night that I could receive a refund in the morning and then when I told the front desk they said they had no report of me speaking to someone the night before and I could not get my room refunded. Once my ac was "fixed" it would randomly shut on and off. This resulted having to get ready for a wedding in a 75 degree room. The rooms were clean, and it was a great location but the front desk and staff did not help at all, I will not be staying here again. read more

They had me sign a damage waiver and $150 on my card to cover possible damages. This hotel must have safety issues. The staff was friendly and very helpful. The room however was dirty with stained carpet in several places. The vents were dirty and the pullout couch was covered with dust at the top . Well we have to say that this location needs leadership help. In the heart of the city and the many competitors of hospitality in the area several things stand out. They don't allow smoking cigarettes but MJ is widely used throughout the hotel especially during the parties on Friday and Saturday night. With some of the management looking to further their careers, customer service is a mainstay in this space. While some are more than others, the top ones need certain skills to pay attention to the customers needs and concerns not to talk about them on their radios as they exit for a day of leisure. Clearly they can learn from examples like Las Vegas who pride themselves on customer relations to the utmost. Some of the smiles were heart felt but the others were not. Take for example the fire alarm pulled during the middle of the night at 2am from a wandering person in the hotel. Does not make my family being safe in this environment. We hope they can turn it around as the Hyatt brand based on Chicago is truly a flagship of the epitome of the company's standards. read more

The ladies at the front desk were so helpful and full of great ideas for dinner for 2 moms and 2 girls. They truly made our night better. And our room, 821, was cleaned immaculately! First and foremost the staff here is beyond phenomenal. I believe that is one of the biggest things that goes into hotel service and ratings. The hotel and rooms themselves are not "5-star" status but they don't claim to be. They accommodate and are probably one of the best GROUPS of staff at a hotel I've ever experienced.
