Due to unforeseen circumstances, we arrived one day late, at approximately 2:30 p.m. on July 18. When we arrived, I was told that the hotel had marked our reservation as a "no-show" and given away our room, despite having already confirmed our stay on Expedia. What is particularly frustrating is that no one from the hotel attempted to contact me or Expedia before canceling and reselling a reservation that had been paid for in full. Throughout the entire weekend I was supposed to be staying there, my Expedia reservation still showed as active and so was unable to get a refund for the insurance portion of my payment. I understand that the hotel may have considered us a no-show. However, I find it extremely difficult to understand why a fully prepaid reservation would be canceled without making even a basic attempt to contact the guest or the booking agency. If a hotel chooses to accept reservations through third-party sites such as Expedia, guests who use those services should receive the same level of consideration and professionalism as guests who book directly. Unfortunately, the way the situation was handled made me feel as though our reservation mattered less simply because we had booked through Expedia. I was repeatedly told to contact Expedia and that the hotel would do nothing to help. One employee even smirked while telling me this. The lack of empathy was incredibly disappointing. When I asked what we were supposed to do, given that every hotel, motel, and other lodging option within roughly 18 miles appeared to be sold out, no meaningful assistance was offered. I stood at the front desk quietly crying while politely asking for help, and no one made any real effort to find a solution. One young woman at the front desk was genuinely kind and compassionate, and I appreciated her treating me like a human being during an extremely stressful situation. Unfortunately, that was not representative of the overall experience. I have significant health issues and had been looking forward to this trip for a long time, and instead we were forced to stay at the only property we could find, in an area where the hotel itself was gated because of safety concerns in the surrounding neighborhood. I did not feel comfortable staying there, but we had no other choice. What makes this even more frustrating is that when I later checked this hotel's website, rooms were still showing as available. That reinforced my feeling that this situation could have been handled very differently. This was not simply a matter of a policy being applied. It was the complete lack of communication, empathy, and willingness to help that made this experience so upsetting. Policies are one thing, but basic customer service should not disappear when something goes wrong. Afterward, I looked through the hotel's other reviews and was disappointed to find similar complaints from other guests. That makes me concerned that this may be a recurring issue rather than an isolated mistake. I sincerely hope management takes a serious look at how prepaid third-party reservations are handled and, just as importantly, how guests are treated when problems arise. No guest should spend over $1,500 on a fully paid reservation and leave feeling dismissed, embarrassed, and completely abandoned. I would not recommend this hotel based on my experience.

Next time we will choose a room on the higher end 1030+ for a view of the stadium to see home plate. The hotel is adjacent to the Convention Center connected by a walking bridge. If you've stayed at SpringHill Suites by Marriott Baltimore Downtown/Inner Harbor or other Marriott properties before, you pretty much know what to expect here. Nothing particularly fancy or surprising, but it's comfortable, clean, and gets the job done. Not that I really care, but typically upon check-in, they will recognize your status, but they did not this time. I had to ask to ensure my Marriott number was associated with this reservation as when they didn't mention anything to me, I was concerned it wasn't for some reason. The location worked really well for us. Inner Harbor is about a 15-20 minute walk, and Oriole Park at Camden Yards is only about 10 minutes away. Just keep in mind that you are in downtown Baltimore, which unfortunately isn't the nicest area. We generally felt safe during our stay, though. After the Saturday night game, there were plenty of baseball fans walking back to the various nearby hotels, so we definitely weren't the only people out and about. There is no onsite parking, but they do offer valet service. You simply pull up in front of the hotel entrance and they'll take care of the rest. However, here's a little money-saving tip: the parking garage they use is literally across the street. You can park there yourself for roughly half the price of valet. Unless you really don't want to deal with parking your own car, I'd skip the valet and save the money. Our room was nice and spacious, with a mini fridge, although there was no safe. One slightly odd thing is that you have to put your keycard into a slot inside the room for the lights to work. So if you leave the room and take your keycard with you--as most normal humans would--you'll be coming back to a dark room. They offer free breakfast, which is perfectly fine as long as you keep your expectations in check. You'll find cereal, oatmeal, breads and bagels, sausage, yogurt, a waffle maker, and mini egg omelettes. There's also coffee along with OJ, and apple juice that comes from a machine dispenser. Unfortunately, the OJ was out when I tried to get some. There was plenty of seating in the breakfast area, so we never had an issue finding a place to sit. There's also a bar if you want to grab a drink and hang out in the evening. Overall, we had a good stay. The location is the biggest selling point, especially if you're visiting Camden Yards or Inner Harbor and want to walk rather than deal with parking. The hotel itself is pretty much what you'd expect from a SpringHill Suites--comfortable, reasonably spacious, and nothing overly fancy. We'd stay here again if we were coming back to Baltimore for a game or another downtown visit.

You can take long walks around the lake but you can also walk to grab things from Whole Foods or visit multiple good restaurants... all within a 5 min walk. Even the mall is just across the main road (although it's better just to drive across) If you don't want to walk there's an entire restaurant in the hotel, along with the cafe and the bar. I was really surprised by the quality of the breakfast. Even the continental, which is typically used at other hotels to say "this is basic and not very good", was delicious. I tried the avocado toast as well and that was equally good. This was one of my better Marriott stays. I will definitely be booking again.

Was originally going to book the TownPlace in Wilmington but recent reviews were very low. When I booked this one near Aberdeen, it had 5 stars with one review. Now it will have 5 stars with 2 reviews. I have a deal to get 10% cash back on TownPlace Suites so I really wanted to stay at this brand. Most of my experiences with the Marriott TownPlace Suites brand have been good or better. This experience has been excellent. This hotel seems new. It is very Accessible with Accessible parking near the entrance. They also have a lot of EV charging stations available. Room was very clean and the bed comfortable. Everything works well with plenty of outlets. Very functional furniture. Very nice smelling shampoo, conditioner and body wash. Nice soft towels. Complimentary breakfast was good: Cheese omelettes, both pork and turkey sausage and both pork and turkey bacon. Also have yogurt, milk and make your own waffles along with other breads. Coffee was hot and good with half and half in a pitcher. Adding this to my preferred I-95 hotels in Baltimore. Strongly recommend.

Because this is such a basic brand, and they were consistent with the brand, I just snatched some pics from online. The only difference is that all of the bath supplies are mounted Dove products.
