Basic room

Very basic , the hotel is nothing fancy. A whole dining room was shut down , washing machine broken (only 1 machine on the 5th floor for the entire place) machines broken in the gym. Green looking pool water. Saw Corporate there , not looking too happy during my 3 week stay . Breakfast is free but not good. Outdoor patio fireplace is broken , has not been working for months they said. Had no issues parking , housekeeping was good , no crime issues when I was there. There's a small coffee maker and a small fridge in the room. No microwave, the hotel has one in a common room to access if you need to heat anything up. Manager was very nice. There's food places walking distance and the freeway is a few blocks away. The college is a short walking distance. I would not recommend this place unless you're going to stay one night and you're on your way.

**COMPLIMENTARY BREAKFAST AND GREAT COFFEE AVAILABLE** We were greeted with great customer service by a very nice guy in the evening and by two very kind women in the morning at checkout Our room was comfortable and had everything we needed for a one night stay Pretty standard hotel, staying here on our way back if we can. PRO TIP: *Bring water for your coffee *They have soft water in the area so it seems the soap doesn't wash off. Sweet dreams!

I always try to end things on a positive note, so I will start off with the "needs improvement". First off, they charge you $7 per day for parking and NO WHERE on the reservation does it tell you this. I wasn't necessarily put off by the fee until the last night of my stay (Wednesday, July 4th), when I returned to find virturally no parking in the front, as it was mostly taken by patrons of the bar next door. Mind you, one of the hotel clerks stated the reason they charge the hotel guests, is so they could legally tow the cars of the bar patrons for illegally parking at the hotel. However, when I told the clerk that there were numerous cars in the lot that did not have guest passes, not one car got towed! So, somethings not adding up here. They serve breakfast until 9 a.m., but when I went down at 8:30 the only thing left was some wheat-looking Cheerio's. Nothing was refilled, its like they set it out and when its gone its gone. If you say breakfast is served to a certain time, then keep things replenished. There was NO maid service during my 3 day stay, and only 1 wash cloth and 2 hand towels were in the room. I did request additional towels and they were provided quickly. The pool was ice cold and didn't look that clean, I honestly couldn't tell if it was truly dirty or just the finish of the pool. The Wifi was OUT 7the ENTIRE time and no notice was given. I was only told about it when I called the front desk to ask if there was a password. Some of the lamps needed bulbs, but they were replaced quick enough. Now on to the good. The rooms are a nice size, with good air conditioning (that does not sound like a freight train) and was clean and a reasonable price. The lobby area is also a nice size. The staff, for the most part, is nice...some a bit more welcoming than others, but no one was rude or unprofessional. The hotel is clean and centrallyl located, and close (15 minutes or less) to virtually everything and is within walking distance to Starbucks and Texas Tech and Jones Stadium. I gave 3 stars because it does allow you to give half a star. Its honestly not a bad hotel, but they need to keep the breakfast area stocked and go back to not charging for parking and get the wifi fixed. I also strongly recommend they put a warning sign at the pool, letting folks know its not heated, because it liable to stop someone's heart when they go in there thinking it heated, and they jump into whats feels like the iceberg that sunk the Titantic!

Pretty roomy and I enjoyed the layout.

Came for a business meeting at the Texas Tech Club and this seemed to be the closest place. In fact, it was very close! The receptionist was very good, engaged and quick. The bartender, who doubled as the receptionist at the time was also good so the staff seemed good to me. The room was good but the pillows didn't work for me. I think it was my own fault as there were a zillion pillows to choose from. The room was roomy and had all sorts of space. Almost over kill for the over night stay that I had. Definitely would stay here again.

Very highly DO NOT recommend. This has to be the worst hotel experience I've ever had. The room was filthy- stains on carpet and furniture, mold and hair in the shower, thick dust built up on air vents. Not to mention, I went down to eat at the hotel bar and was told they were out of all condiments (lettuce, tomato etc) and also all internet and TV was not working until about 10 pm. I will never make the mistake of staying here again and honestly think I'll switch hotel rewards if this standard is okay with Hyatt.

Don't pay the ridiculous $7 per day parking fee. The bar next door, Logie's, is a hot spot for students and they park in the Hyatt's parking lot. Spoke with the nighttime manager on duty and explained that I had to park 2 blocks away. He stated that he had to call the manager and ask if he could call the towing company. The towing company is South Plains Towing. I called South Plains and they stated that the hotel management never calls to enforce the Hyatt's parking and unless they call, there is nothing they can do. With 150+ rooms at $7 per vehicle, Hyatt takes in $1050 per day per guest but they do nothing to enforce their parking policy. The Overton across the street had a security guy turning Logie's customers away from parking in their parking lot. I think the Hyatt can afford parking security on weekends if they are pulling in $2,000 each weekend. Side note to Hyatt...if you are going to charge $5 for a bottled water you leave in the room, please get Evian instead of some cheap bottle.

The rooms themselves were slightly dated but honestly in really good shape, super clean, and spacious as well.

Which didn't happen. I booked this for my wedding guests and wedding party; most hotels feel like a hospital but this one seemed more cozy and unique. Which is true its cozy but clearly they have stopped doing normal maintenance on it. Which was is embarrassing being i put my closest friends and family there. Booking was a pain through their "portal" and a huge hassle and the booking agent was almost never available. When I arrived my room smelled musty, not a huge deal to me but not cool to make me smell weird. The bathroom and counter needed a wipe down. The previous guests towel was still damp and hanging on the door. So that makes me think that it was cleaned well, maybe at all.‍ The head board had grease spots where the previous how many ever guests had rested there head as well as toothpaste splatters on the mirror frame. Also the AC wasn't really working all that well in my room but I think maybe it was just mine. Then there was many cosmetic issues like peeling wallpaper, damaged tiles, missing paint and huge dings in the hall walls. I had to ask multiple times for them to refresh the bathroom. Some of the staff is nice some not so much. Like I said it WAS a nice place but clearly needs better management and repairs. I paid for better.

I don't understand what was causing it to get so dirty but that was a first impression that tracked consistently throughout my stay. The staff aren't really in any kind of uniform so other than standing behind the desk, no way of telling if they are guests loitering in the lobby or employees of this Aloft. One of the elevators was out the entire stay. The other was acting a little buggy. I took the stairs often during my two day, two night stay. The fitness center is small. Not a problem, per se. Kind of on-brand for Aloft. The problem is two of two treadmills were out of commission. I ran in the residential park down the road after taking the stairs. At least all the lights and tech in the room were operational. Located in a strip mall area with a number of restaurants makes it convenient but the lack of concern over maintenance in the common areas makes me reluctant to ever stay here again. And as a Bonvoy member I stay in A LOT of their hotels. I feel like I should get a points rebate for using points during this stay.

Upon opening the room it has a light sewer smell and the duvet did not look fresh and was rumpled as though it had been laid on before. Room is a typical Aloft so basic dorm like. Always like the Dry Bar bathroom amenities but they would have been a lot better if there was any water pressure - sink was ridiculous and could not properly rinse my toothbrush! View is more rooms and a flat field but not expecting more than that ! Kept blinds shut so I did not have to look at my neighbors. Think from now on will just do a really long day with early flight in and late flight out negating the need for a hotel !!

She said e pool was open when we complained all the anent were not available. Apparent, they just expect you to just ignore the dirt that's settled at the bottom. Additional photos to show the housekeeping services. Lazilymade the bed and didn't reset the pillows. Didn't take the time top prepare or properly clean the room, so don't lift your toilet lid. They likely don't either. The other room photos are likely for larger corporate or partner events. Leisurely travel is night and day because our room looked nothing like the photos. When it comes to shower water pressure, bring your own tools to clear the jets in the shower heads. These things have enough calcium build up to cure osteoporosis. In closing, Selena was unprofessional and needs to work on her people skills. She's also the one that said tue "dirt tank", aka pool, was open for use. She needs to be fired or at least get some actual hospitality management training. The only plus side was proximity to the Tech campus and Logie's. The lobby and conference area are very nice. However, the rooms are a little run down. The bathroom had stained toilets & shower. The room smelled old & the bed wasn't very comfortable and the sheets smelled like smoke (dont know why because the hotel IS non-smoking). Perhaps it's an old dryer. The walls are also very thin, I could hear one side's TV & the snoring on the other wall, which kept me up. The conference food was just okay. The first night, we had brisket/shredded beef tacos but they did not taste like anything. The elote bowl was really good. The other days was buffet and overall tasted okay but on Friday, they served meat, which was not so great given the Lent season. The staff have all been really great, the caterers were extremely nice, especially Kloey and the nice gentleman with glasses

To ensure this was addressed, we left the sofa pulled out so housekeeping would notice the area. However, when we returned, while the bed was made and the bathroom was clean, the floor was completely ignored. It was clear they simply cleaned around the mess. The lack of hygiene extended to the amenities as well. The coffee maker was extremely filthy, covered in thick dust and water stains, making it completely unusable. It is evident that deep cleaning is not a priority at this hotel. Furthermore, the room location was problematic; being on the same floor as the lounge, reception, and bar made it extremely noisy and busy. When we raised these concerns at checkout, the reception staff offered a simple 'sorry' but nothing more. There was no effort to compensate us for the poor service or the unsanitary conditions. We would not recommend staying here. Update: After posting, Hilton corporate reached out and provided some points to apologize for the experience.
