    The Space Needle

The rooms are nice and spacious and the complementary breakfast is decent. The hotel is conveniently located next to drugstore in case you've forgotten anything and within walking distance of a number of restaurants.

Inside Room 316. Space Needle view.

My wife and I were very happy with this hotel, Hyatt Place Seattle/Downtown. I give it a solid four Yelp stars. We stayed one night, a Wednesday, in a "King Bed (with Sofa Bed)" room for $248.75. The nightly rate was $210.80 before $33.20 occupancy tax and a $4.85 "Seattle tourism" surcharge. I booked and prepaid online directly through Hyatt's website, only three days in advance. If I recall correctly, a "King Bed Space Needle View (with Sofa Bed)" room was about $10-20 extra per night. I didn't think a Space Needle view was worth an extra $10-20, so I booked a standard King room. We got Room 316. It turned out to have a Space Needle view, so we lucked out and got the view without the extra cost. The room was spacious, clean, and comfortable. There were plenty of power outlets for our devices, the Wi-Fi was fast enough (not that we spent much time on it), the AC worked well, and the ice machine wasn't far away. It was pretty much everything we wanted in a basic hotel room. The floor plan was also to our liking. My wife likes to spend her downtime on the sofa and this room had a sizable living room area with a clean, comfy sofa, coffee table, and end tables. Photo: https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/hyatt-place-seattle-downtown-seattle?select=gIgnAvyCDbY8PxHrjGm1ug&userid=j14WgRoU_-2ZE1aw1dXrJg We had a good view of the Space Needle from our third-floor room. The hotel has nine floors. It opened in 2010 and was renovated in 2018. Our room and the building overall had a good design and looked modern enough. Breakfast is served 6:30am to 9:30am, daily. It was included with our stay, but we slept in and missed it. We did get hot coffee in the lobby and brought it back to our room. It satisfied us. On my reservation confirmation email, the checkout time was listed as 11:00am. When we checked in, we asked for a later checkout time. Hyatt employee Lydia was able to give us a late checkout at 2:00pm, which we appreciated. Lydia was fantastic. She was super friendly and helpful. The customer service was five stars and she was the main reason why. The lady working the front desk the next day when we checked out was friendly and efficient too. She was very busy helping other customers, both on the phone and in person, and she still checked us out with a smile. Before she helped us, I saw her helping another party, who had just checked out, move their luggage temporarily into a storage room. Both online and in-person check-in and checkout were a breeze. Hyatt was very communicative via email. I chose this hotel because of its terrific location. It's central to Seattle Downtown, Lower Queen Anne (Uptown), and South Lake Union. It's only a six-minute walk to Seattle Center, which has the Space Needle, museums, theaters, and arenas (e.g., Climate Pledge Arena where the WNBA's Seattle Storm and NHL's Seattle Kraken play).

Look at that view. If you want a view of the Needle, just ask for room 920 or adjacent. I'm sure the rooms below it are just as nice. Got two rooms (another for adult kids) on the top floor which is great for the view. Rooms were clean and well maintained. No drawer space and thin space for closet but as a business hotel like Hyatt Places are set up for, this is the highest rating I would dare give a Hyatt Place. Came in June and what most will notice is that this hotel serves as a pre-cruise hotel full of people spending a couple pre-cruise days before getting on a ship to Alaska. What that means for you if not on a cruise is potentially early morning noise, long lines at the elevator, and a sea of humanity in the lobby during breakfast....but wait...that view...lol! Easily walkable to Belltown, the Public Market, and the Space Needle, the hotel is centrally located and has secure underground parking for those renting a car. It is also in a very safe area with easy access to the highway. The morning breakfasts have something for everyone and can be quite crowded during cruise season, but it is extremely clean and well maintained. Our room had a king-size bed with a seating area for 4, a wet bar with coffeemaker and a desk working area. Private toilet and shower tub behind closed door. Sink and mirror located outside the shower area.

We booked our stay using Hyatt points. The location is very handy - near downtown, the space needle, etc. Pros - location, free breakfast (big spread), breakfast staff (very friendly), fitness room (used to be the pool - it's big!), Cons - front desk staff weren't friendly, I asked to have my room cleaned but it wasn't done, cost of parking ($55 including tax per night!), and an overflowing sewer pump in the basement parking garage - ew!

Overall 3.5 stars. But their Asst. Mgr - Harrington is 5 stars all the way. My 1st night there, I was disturbed b/c of the lighting and furniture (TOO DIM). He went out of his way to buy me a camping lamp at Walgreens to brighten up my room! It was seriously the best part of my stay at the Hyatt Place. They give you an orientation flyer with nearby restaurants. They are right across from Walgreens. They have 24/7 ice water, hot water & tea, and coffee. They also provide bags of chips in case you get the muchies. I was told they are due for a major renovation beginning in November (much needed update to lobby, eating areas, and the rooms). - Everything was dimly lit in my room (as mentioned above), especially annoying was that the bathroom had only 1 light kind of near toilet, there needs to be a canned light in the shower too. - The room is poorly designed. Their pocket closet door was really annoying, you had to dig deep to get to your stuff. - The HVAC / Heating worked well, and the service to get you extra sheets, comforter, toiletries, was on point - The chair for the desk was bad for my back, hard to study, not ergonomic Just pls be aware that they don't do beds on Weekends. So I was misled to believe housekeeping would tidy up. But they got it all resolved on Monday, no problem. Their pool is permanently closed. No jacuzzi either. Their business center needs better lighting and furniture. Breakfast was hit and miss. They weren't prepared by 6:30am. Sometimes the eggs come out way later than other items (challenging when on a tight schedule). There were only whole apples at the first few days of my stay. Then they started to served bagged fruit (imagine a XXL fruit salad) that had decent pineapples and cantaloupe here and there. They have too many sweet options. Pls some sugar free or no sugar options would be great for bkfast. Each room has a mini fridge. Overall my stay was decent. I was just disappointed b/c I had just stayed in a well designed, well furnished, and abundant breakfast buffet at Hyatt Place in Las Vegas. I was expecting the same. Oh well, live and learn.

View of the needle from the hotel!

This is a great option in downtown Seattle! Super close to the needle and a lot of great food! It was maybe a 20 minute walk to the pike place market as well. The room was spacious, comfy and clean. The continental breakfast was ok. Good, not great, but did the job! And they offer 24/7 coffee which is always a perk. I would definitely recommend this hotel!

Stayed here 1 night. It was clean, comfortable and within walking disrance of the arena and many decent bars and eateries. The staff were friendly to me and helped me get my bearings when needed. The bed was perhaps the most comfortable I'd ever had in a hotel.

The staff definitely leave something to be desired. I found them a mixture of condescending and rude. We requested early check in and where informed our room was not ready. Than watched them check in couple after couple. 2.5 hours later we got our early check in. A whole 15 minutes early. This was after it supposedly took them 45 minutes to clean the room. Now on to the room. The room was modestly sized with furniture shoved into every available space. The floors are plastic and cold. TV lost connection no less than 5 times forcing us to miss a few minutes of the show to reboot it. The best part was the bed. Very comfy bed. The comforters they provide are not designed for tall people though. The bathroom was not great. The shower is small with a temp control that sticks causing jumps in water temp. From luke warm to scalding quickly. For men beware the toilet. The water level is so high if you have to sit down to potty you will need to squat or parts might find themselves taking a swim in murky waters if you know what i mean. I would have normally told the staff all of this but the icy frosting on this stay was check out where the staff gave no greeting, didn't ask how the stay was or even express any positive sentiment towards us. In a city full of places to stay don't be fooled by there advertised low price. You end up with a low price experience for a high price in your check book.

I tried to explain that people were right behind us and it wasn't safe to block egress but the people at the front desk said that it wasn't a problem. My husband just needed to block traffic and unload our things then wait for a valet driver to appear. I asked if we could upgrade our room to a club level but was informed that they have no ability to do so at the front desk and haven't for some time. I was very disappointed at this. It would have been one thing if they were booked but just flat out denial just because felt somehow personal (even if it wasn't actually). I went back out to the entrance to see if I could spot my husband and made him stop. Soon after a valet arrived and said he should park the car perpendicular to the other cars so he would have somewhere to park. This would have effectively blocked both the valet cars and the through traffic lanes. He then asked if we were going to do valet parking. I told him "not any more!" This hotel charges $69 a night for valet and the self parking isn't worlds cheaper but it definitely felt worth it to have our car placed carefully by us and not left in the care of the person who felt perpendicular/blocking through traffic was a good idea. Meanwhile I found our room that has a persistent sound of whistling when the heating is on and I found that the bathroom, while beautiful had a rather unappealing quality. When you use the toilet you are looking directly into a rather large mirror. When taken all together it makes for a rather disappointing experience. I don't think I will stay at any Hyatt again. There are other options that are pleasant and clean and well thought out nearby.

There were some minor issues with the hotel charges, but staff was quick to help us sort it out during check-out. The check-in was a bit inconsistent though, as another group in our party got free vouchers to Smith Tower, but our room did not. They are now under Hyatt group, so if you have loyalty status with Hyatt, make sure to let them know during check-in. The room itself was nice and spacious. Bed and bedding was comfortable although the pillows were very flat. The bathroom had a huge window but there was an automated privacy shade. The bathroom also had plenty of counter space, with a separate shower from the huge soaking tub. The tub design was a bit weird in that the water comes out of the ceiling... so just be prepared that it does splash all over. Our room did not have a view (we got an east-facing room which literally is a view of another building's windows), but it did keep the room cool. Location was nice and walkable to all nearby Seattle attractions, very easy to get to Pike Place and Westlake Station. The hotel has a spa and small gym on the basement level, plus a golf simulator (that we did not try). The Rosebay bar was very pleasant (we got drinks and a snack) and the bartender was very friendly and attentive. The breakfast at All Water was disappointing though - both the service and food were mediocre for the price they charge - and we wouldn't recommend it. Nonetheless, the hotel stay itself was pleasant and I would recommend the hotel itself, location was excellent. Staff was friendly and I would come back to stay here again when visiting Seattle.

Literally the first building you see when you leave the train station and right next to the entrance to the Seattle Stadium. Staff was friendly, though advertising a $9 bottle of Smart Water and giving your guests a complimentary check-in bottle of Dasani feels like a bad choice. Would probably have gone down better to give the Smart Water and advertise it as $9 to give it an added value. My main issue was not being warned before arrival that there was an ongoing strike by employees of the hotel. There was a flyer at the desk at check-in going over it, but no one prewarned us that the striking employees started at 6:30am with drums, a megaphone, sirens, whistles, and shouting. This was fully audible in the room. Due to the World Cup, there was no option to relocate to another hotel. When we left the hotel in the morning of the match, members of the protest got very aggressive and in my face, screaming about checking out and demanding a refund. Again, not a practical option. I have nothing against workers rights, but screaming at people who didn't know and don't have another choice isn't doing any favors. This must have happened more than once, because the front door was locked the remainder of the day and guests directed to other doors. The room was dusty, likely as a result of the strike. The sliding barn doors were insufficient to offer privacy while using the toilet or showering. Breakfast was pretty good. I went with Embassy Suites based on past experiences and convenience and I wish I had been aware of the strike because I would have made different choices. It was built in 1914 and has been well cared for over the years. When we came back from one evening out, we all gathered in the Library and set up some charcuterie and wine to share from our travels. It was so cozy sitting all together and chatting about our adventures. The rooms are historic with modern conveniences. Our room was the Queen Ann Hill. We slept soundly in our comfortable 4 poster bed. There was a helpful step stool for me to climb up as I am vertically challenged. It has original pushbotton light switches. It had a beautiful full length mirror. There was a flatscreen TV, but we had so many wonderful activities we did not use it. The bathroom was updated but still fit with the historic look. There were two showerheads in the tiled shower. Breakfast was lovely. I, personally, have a great deal of food allergies. There was ample selection that I was able to enjoy just as much as anyone else. There were breads and pastries, jams and spreads, yogurt and fresh berries, and a hot breakfast dish. Hard boiled eggs were available as well as cheeses and meats. There was a coffee bar that was available all day that also had tea and cocoa. The temperature controls worked great, the bed was very comfortable and had an adequate number of pillows, the bathroom was well-appointed, and everything was very clean. The bath towels were large, soft, and plush. The frosted door to the water closet was a nice touch for the sake of privacy if you were sharing the space with someone. The shower was not huge but it was more than adequately spacious for me. There were 2 robes hung in the bathroom (though I didn't use them). The small table and chairs near the window were convenient and comfortable to work from. The view from my room was very nice, especially during clear days when you can see the water and the mountains in the distance. The room was always well maintained after the typical morning cleaning as well as during turn down service. I appreciated the staff placing slippers by the bed and how they always nicely arranged my toiletries in the bathroom, replaced used towels with fresh ones, and even placed things on the table in the bedroom (like my charger, earbud case, eyeglass case, and so on) neatly for when I returned. The bar area at the back of the restaurant was a nice little area and had a table large enough for our group of around 8-10 to comfortably sit at while enjoying a nightcap. My breakfast the day I checked out was also high quality and my server Nathan was pleasant, timely, and honest about prep time of some items I wanted to order but was constricted due to a time crunch. In general, every staff member I encountered was pleasant, eager to help, and always smiled and made eye contact when speaking with me. All in all, I had a wonderful experience and have no complaints. This property is one of the top 2-3 Four Seasons hotels I have stayed at over the past several years. I would wholeheartedly stay here again!

Hats off and compliments to the Four Seasons Seattle staff and management! My family had a…read morespectacular experience for 3 nights as we explored Seattle prior to hopping on an Alaskan cruise. This hotel is an excellent choice for those wanting to stay in a waterfront property that's walkable to the cruise terminal as well. Though Four Seasons is not the most cost effective option for a comfortable hotel in downtown Seattle, I highly recommend this hotel based on my recent experience in June 2025. Where to start.... Location, location, location! The hotel is literally a block away from the entrance to Pike Place Market where you can spend days shopping, snacking, and enjoying the views of the water. The views from the hotel room are breathtaking as the Great Wheel (Ferris wheel) and Aquarium are just a few minutes away by foot. From the Four Seasons, we were able to walk to Chinatown in under 30 min (you can also take the train just 2 stops down) and Seattle Center where the Space Needle is located is also walkable and also accessible via monorail. The staff greets you at the door every time you enter and exit, and the lobby is full of surprises like premium coffee and tea in the mornings and a candy bar in the afternoon. Every time our room was serviced, it was done to perfection and then some. The chat function on the app was amazing as I was able to make requests and ask questions with ease. Responses were close to immediate. At the front desk and concierge, staff are also very friendly and treated us with respect and honor. They also provided great advice for food and sightseeing options close by. They never tried to sell me stuff where they would make money off of it. I could go on and on, but I have to say that my family's experience was extremely memorable, and if I could give this place 6 stars, I would. If you're looking for the optimal location for breathtaking views, seconds away from Pike Place Market, and still walkable to the Space Needle, Chinatown, the Convention Center, etc., this is it, y'all!
