We stayed here during our trip to visit the Salvador Dalí Museum, and it was a great choice. My husband booked this hotel ahead of time, and we really enjoyed our stay. The staff was friendly and attentive. The lobby is beautiful, very spacious, with high ceilings and large windows that make it feel bright and welcoming. I really liked the style. We booked a room with two queen beds for two adults and two kids. The room was simple, very clean, and everything looked fresh and well maintained. The furniture seemed new, and it had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. There was a mini fridge, a safe, a TV (which made our kids very happy), a coffee maker with coffee pods and tea bags, a hair dryer, an iron with an ironing board, an extra pillow, and plenty of towels. The bathroom had wall-mounted shampoo, conditioner, and body wash, plus hand soap, body lotion, makeup remover wipes, and soft facial tissues. One thing I really appreciated was the extra security. The room opens with a key card, but once you're inside you can lock it so the key card won't open the door. There is also an additional security latch, which gave us extra peace of mind while traveling with kids. It was very quiet at night, and we all slept well. The location is great--about a 10-minute walk to the pier, and we even had a partial water view from our window. There is also a pool. The only thing I noticed was a couple of spots where the pool's underwater coating had chipped, so it could use a little maintenance. Overall, we had a really nice stay. St. Petersburg is a beautiful city with plenty to see, nice places to walk, and it didn't feel overcrowded. We'd definitely stay here again. read more

I was in town and choose this location because it was very close to the event I would be attending. The location was great with many restaurants, coffee shops, Publix and CVS within walking distance. I parked in the hotel's parking garage for $22 a night and didn't have to move my car until it was time for me to depart. I stayed in the king room and it was huge and has a separate "living area" with a sofa. The price was reasonable also making it a good choice and the staff was extremely polite and friendly. There's hot breakfast in the morning with decent options. The only issue is that the faucet was broken and shot water about two feet away when I turned it on. ‍ read more

Our room does not have a working air conditioner. It's midnight. We are in a hot box called a room and the hotel claims it is completely sold out and they can't put us on a room with working air conditioning. Almost $300 for the room and it's a hot box. On 4/8 I booked a one night stay for 4/12-4/13 at this hotel and after driving 2 hours, I arrived and was told by the desk clerk that the room was no longer available. Her excuse being because I booked through a third party (Travelocity) they reserve the right to make changes to the booking. Needless to say, that didn't sit too well with me. The room for one night was over $500 (yes you read that right)and the lack of professionalism and concern for customers, from who I assume was the manager (Gale) and her subordinate, left a bad taste. Gale cancelled my booking per my request and thankfully we were able to immediately book at The embassy suites in downtown Tampa, right next to the water (which I love and be sure to check out their HH) for HALF the amount lol :). Can I get an amen?! LOL. The main reason I'm leaving this review is to warn potential customers to steer clear of this place, as they do not honor their commitments and have no problem doing bad business. Id never even heard of this hotel, I only found them because I needed a pet friendly place to stay overnight but I mean, why advertise your business on Travelocity at all if you're not going to honor your booking? Seems pretty fraudulent. And the audacity to charge like a five star hotel...comical. I honestly think it was fate they messed up my booking because no one in their right mind should be paying over $500 PER NIGHT to stay in this place lol. I implore Travelocity to reconsider whatever contract they have with this establishment because they shouldn't be receiving payment through a third party if this is how they're going to do business. Hopefully in the future businesses will start being fined for things like this because it reflects badly on the platforms that are promoting them. Nevertheless, If you're ever in the Tampa/ St Pete area there's plenty of other options that provide better service, better pricing, and an overall better experience. I was here for the evening and the Hyatt did NOT disappoint! The location is perfect! I was able to walk everywhere! It was very clean and the room was superb! Jade the bartender was great and took good care of my guest and I! I will definitely be back! At 11:00pm, you are not able to get into the hotel without your room key which I can appreciate. My wife and I are currently staying at Hyatt Place. Yesterday, Sunday, May 18, I had the worst, most embarrassing experience I have ever had in a hotel. At 3:30 pm, I was walking into the lobby from the garage to meet my wife. A woman was mopping the floor of the lobby. She said to me, "What's wrong with you? Can't you see I'm mopping here? Can't you see the floor is wet?" I said, "I'm sorry, ma'am." She said, "Who you calling ma'am?" My wife and I walked to the elevator. The mopping lady wasn't finished. "Look at how you walk. You can't even walk right." I'm a 73-year-old man with severe vertigo, and I walk in a halting way. She continued, following us and another couple to the elevator. "Are you going to fall down?," she asked loudly. "You can't even walk right." It's inconceivable to me that the hotel would employ a person like that, mocking a handicapped person. Stayed for 2 nights this weekend. We were pleased with the hotel & staff. Self-parking, no valet option available. Parking is 30$/ night. Check in & check out were both quick & easy. Our room was clean & spacious. Hotel is perfectly located within walking distance of bars, the water, & we were even able to walk to the Tropicana Stadium after an event. Large clean lobby with many different seating areas, daily breakfast buffet, daily happy hour at the bar, 24/7 snack counter, outdoor pool on the 7th floor, computer and printer available for guest use, and bonus points for in-room coffee makers with actual ceramic mugs not just paper cups. Room was big with 2 double beds, dresser and wardrobe, plenty of counter space, at least 5 lamps for different lighting options, and corner sectional sofa with ottoman for lounging. Bed was comfy. However, the walls are not very sound proof and when you have bridesmaids from a wedding party celebrating until the wee hours of the morning in the room next to you, be sure you won't get much sleep. Overall, staff was kind and friendly. Sometimes a bit slow or not present at the front desk. Housekeeping was unreliable, once leaving behind a cleaning rag, another day not coming until almost 4pm, another day clogging my sink but fixing it the next day. The room was very clean and beds were comfortable. Had to put a towel at front door to reduce light and darkening shades help but not fully. Wife and I choose two queens for the reason the photo clearly shows why:). Food: 3 stars- Standard breakfast hotel food with nothing really stands out. Was clean though. Service: 5 stars- Front desk staff at checkin was friendly and professional. Upon our need for recommendations, both gentlemen quickly confirmed our own Yelp search for unique Mexican and provided us the directions to walk their. There was no room cleaning service due to COVID reductions but we also didn't need anything so no rating. Checkout was friendly and to the point due to line. All staff wore masks and appeared everything was being wiped down. Environment and dog friendly area: 4.5 stars- Hotel lobby, food service area, elevators and pool areas all kept clean. As a visitor, we had a wonderful stay at Hyatt Place St. Petersburg Downtown. We had a suite on the 7th floor and it was amazing. The staff was lovely their 24 hour coffee service is a total bonus. I have a jaw surgeon (18 month process) in St Pete so we are here a lot. From this location, you are a block away from tons of restaurants, marinas, rooftop bars, bars, movies, museums, everything. The Hyatt Downtown location is in the heart of everything and we'll always stay here in the future. read more

This is a very limited review seeing as how I only went for their happy hour and didn't get anything to eat. So, don't take this review as an indication of what the hotel service is like-I have no idea. But, if you're looking for a place to spend a happy hour, this isn't bad. I'd probably give it 3.5 stars if I could, but I can't and 3 stars feels too low. So, this is a brand new hotel in downtown Saint Pete. Opened a couple of weeks ago, I think. The bar is on the bottom floor-it is not very big. Maybe 10-15 bar stools plus a few tables and couches. But there are floor to ceiling windows so there's plenty of light, and an outside patio with a couple of tables. They have a few appetizers on their HH menu, but again, I didn't eat anything. They also have a couple of wines, and 3 or 4 craft cocktails. The old fashioned is made with old Saint Pete whiskey, and I love that they keep it local. It was made properly, i.e. with a single large ice cube, and tasted great. I also got their piratey rum drink, also made with a single ice cube, but this one was a skull! Very cool and I need that ice tray. It is an older crowd, though there were a couple of young professionals. All in all, I enjoyed myself. Ok Let me start with the review is based on visit and a week or two after opening, so I will go back and update. First off they were very busy and a little short at first because the bartender was very busy. There was a bit of misinformation in regards to Happy Hour . The website it ended at 730 and it also said it ended at 8. I got there's little before 730, the bartender said HH was over but I reminded him I was there before 730, he said he would honor it. About 10 minutes later, he was caught up and took my drink.order As he was making my order I asked one of the other bartenders for the HH food menu since I didn't get to see it yet. She told me no it was too late and I explained to her that I've been here since before 730 but she just looked at me and wouldn't give me the menu The other bartender had to explain to her I had been waiting awhile, begrudgingly she finally gave it to me. Fast forward we received out charcuterie plate and flatbreads. The cheese and meat a plate was good but didn't have some of the items they advertised and replaced them with something else. The flatbread was pretty good but nothing outstanding. The service got better and the bartender was friendly once he caught up .As for our bill , it was messed up but they fixed it. The hotel is located in a great location with a ton of bars and restaurants within a 2 block radius in the heart of downtown St Petersburg. Publix and CVS are about 3-4 blocks away. The hotel itself is nice and modern, clean, and the staff were cordial... it caters toward business travelers as well as couples and families. The rooms are big with a little lounge area that has a foldaway bed. The rooms come with a big screen TV, refrigerator, microwave, safe and a desk area. The elevators in this hotel are super quick and I don't think I ever waited more than 10 seconds for an elevator to arrive. One may think that's non essential but I think it's the attention to detail that impressed me. There is parking in the hotel for $18/night, which is a little pricey but we enjoyed the convenience. You may be able to park at one of the other lots that are near by for a better price. The hotel has hot breakfast in the morning that includes eggs, sausage, bacon, biscuits or some combination. Due to covid, someone does serve you the hot items and it's self serve for any fruits, yogurts, cereals and coffee. They do offer a to go option which is nice as well. Being that we stayed here after Labor Day, it was a fairly quiet stay with no many people during the morning rush. The hotel also has a nice large gym with large windows overseeing the sidewalk for a nice view. It has a large clean outdoor pool as well. On the fifth floor, there are conference rooms and areas you can sit and work. I worked out of the hotel for a few days and there are plenty of space to work quietly. Overall, it was a great stay in a great location. Would definitely recommend if you're a business travel or if you're doing a road trip from another city as there are some good places to eat nearby. Tropicana field is prob a mile away? if you're a baseball fan... I do have some minor complaints... the faucet in the bathroom is too short for the sink so washing your hands meant you're always touching the side of the sink and the hand soap is way too slimy so it feels like you're never able to rinse the soap off lol read more

Location The location is great. You can walk to tons of shops and restaurants. This hotel is ideally located. Food Free breakfast is provided to members of the rewards program, but no one was checking on this detail. Breakfast was very busy all mornings of our stay but the staff kept it replenished well. I enjoyed the oatmeal with many topping options and the fresh fruit though there was also a selection of eggs, potatoes, breads and depending on the day sausage or pancakes etc.... Room The bed and pillows were comfortable and the blackout shades did a good job, however two other elements made it hard to sleep. There was such a large gap between the floor and the bottom of the door to the room that a lot of light spilled in from the hallway. Secondly, the bathroom had a glass door so if one occupant of the room was in the bathroom even with the door closed the entire room lit up. You can also hear noise from the hall in the room at night and the ice machine could be heard as well. The room had plenty of outlets, including bedside, but no USB outlets. The room is also not made for working. The desk and desk chair are not matched in an ergonomic height. Sitting as the desk your shoulders have to be raised unnaturally to use a laptop on the desk. The shower is spacious and the water pressure good, though there isn't a ton of water coming out as there aren't many holes in the shower head. Issues There was some housekeeping problem in the hotel overall. Towels were not getting washed quickly or something. One morning of our stay we discovered the used towels in the room were taken however no new towels were provided. We called down and someone did bring them up. The next day service wasn't provided until around 4pm because of the towel issue a housekeeper told us. On our check out day the housekeeper did stop by the room just to make sure we had enough towels and items to use before leaving. Pool The pool is pretty basic. It's just a rectangle with non-padded chaise lounge chairs around it, but they were comfortable. There were two cushioned couches. Towels are provided as were a few flotation devices to play with and float on. The really fancy pool you may see in pictures is of a neighboring condo not the hotel. The pool gets good sun after 12pm (the condo tower blocks it earlier). Sunday all was quiet at the pool, but Saturday there was a DJ and bar set up. Hotel overall The staff were really friendly from the bartender to the front desk staff. The housekeepers were friendly and caring as well. The lobby is modern and expansive with many different seating options and lots of plugs. The bar even has a small patio with chairs and a comfy couch. This lobby was better than what I've experienced in other Hyatt Place properties. The rooms though were the typical Hyatt place design with a bed separated from a couch by a fake wall. In this Hyatt Place though the bathroom was entirely enclosed, even the sink as is usually not the Hyatt Place typical. read more

Eva checked us into a corner room. She was friendly and informative. The room had an amazing view and was so comfortable. I wish we could have stayed longer. We slept in, so we missed breakfast, but the bed was so nice we didn't mind. The sun was rising, but the shades blocked enough light for us to crash until checkout. My husband left his bag at the front desk when we went to grab a drink, but they held it for him until we checked out and claimed it. The hotel is so nice and clean. I stayed at the Hyatt Place with a group of girls for a bachelorette party. We got two rooms for 9 girls. The rooms we booked were spacious with two queen sized beds and a pull out sofa bed with a chase lounge. It was perfect for our group size. It also had a decent size mini fridge that held many champagne bottles. It did not come stocked with items for purchase. There were no items for purchase in the room at all. The location of the hotel could not be better, located directly across the street from Central Ave and the main block in Downtown Saint Petersburg. The hotel is walking distance to all the main attractions downtown. The hotel is new as of late 2017 and is beautiful on the outside and inside. A complementary breakfast was served buffet style in the lobby until 10:00am and included bacon, scrambled eggs, biscuits and gravy, along with staples that are typically provided with a continental breakfast. We all enjoyed our stay and would definitely return. read more

Stay was good.. only a few cons. Wish I could give 4.5 stars. Check-in was a breeze and they have a parking garage that has plenty of space. The garage was odd for me as each level has only one was in and out you can't drive around and exit..you will need to turn around to get out. That being said, the hotel is in a great location downtown. Within walking distance of so many yummy food spots and the water. I was on the 7th floor and there isn't much of a view FYI. The room was clean and spacious, I love how they really optimized the space and avoided clutter. They have the green initiative where towels will only be replaced if left on the floor, that's fine with me. What I didn't like was that the shower didn't have really hot water, not sure if that is to conserve energy or avoid a scalding lawsuit. I'm a super hot shower type of person so that was disappointing. Now I was amazingly surprised at the complimentary breakfast. They had so many options but not just that they had healthier options! They had cage-free eggs, all natural bacon and this kale grain thing. Can't believe it. The fresh fruit was delicious and sweet. The beverage station was also surprising. Nothing seemed like an after thought. The employees were super friendly too. Overall I had a great experience and woukd consider going back. read more

The thing that raised them to five stars though was the fact that they have a fairly late checkout (noon) and even extended that one hour for us. Definitely a great place to stay in St. Petersburg, Florida. This hotel opened less than a week ago when we arrived at the beginning of October. Everything was so clean and fresh, the employees were mostly friendly and nice. There were few ups and downs as the hotel is so new and some things can be misunderstood but still adjusted. For example, there was no safe in the room, no bathrobe and no slippers. Time to time the light just switched off by itself (while I was in the shower), our room was not cleaned one day and some of the standard toiletries (shampoo /conditioner/napkins) were not left in the room couple of times. Also, my husband met a woman at the front desk who was arguing with him unprofessionally. She kept saying he is wrong and he does not have his 2nd reservation. When my husband searched for it and showed it to her on his phone, she was able to locate the next reservation but did not admit that she made a mistake. On the bright side, I really liked the location, the rooms were big enough and clean. Everyone was very friendly. They also have nice gym (5th floor) and outside pool. There were nights when it was hard to sleep because of the parties across the street and the bed was not the comfiest I have seen in other hotels. However, it's just a small negative. I would definitely like to return. So close to shops, restaurants, cinema, museums, pubs, Starbucks, beach, and about 30 min drive to Tampa where the real shopping can start (or Sarasota mall). read more

Nice and new hotel in down town St Petersburg. The hotel is in a nice area. Close to the harbor and quite a few cafes, restaurants and bars. Polite and pleasant staff. But probably since it's a new hotel, they do not seem to know their hotel very well. And in stead of checking, they guess. They do not know on what levels the ice machines are (7, 9 and 14). Much better to say that you do not know and then check. Great that there is laundry machine (at least on the 15th floor). But there is a 50 percent chance you will have to buy fabric softener before you manage to buy detergent as there are no signs indicating what you buy. I had to go out hunting for coins again after I had paid for the laundry and (unfortunately fabric softener for the drying and not detergent for washing as I thought). There are no signs on the machines, so when you think you have enough coins (yes, they only take coins), get more coins. The breakfast is pretty weak. Limited choices. Bread, eggs and beacon, but no ham or cheese. The room was big and nice. So if they fix a few of the smaller irritants, it will be a good experience. read more

When I first arrived at the hotel I immediately noticed how spacious the lobby was and the snack bar area with all its available options. There is Starbucks brewed coffee in the lobby as well as a Starbucks located across the street. The check in process went pretty smoothly. I was given a corner room, which I typically do not like. I went went back downstairs to see if I could switch rooms; the front desk staff was very accommodating in assisting me. The breakfast was free to Hyatt members and was one of the best I've seen at a Hyatt Place. Typically, it's a very small area with limited options. This location had plenty of seating available and multiple food and beverage options. There is also an ATM conveniently located in lobby area. Overall, I enjoyed my stay here and look forward to visiting again in the future. read more

Thank you for handling the situation accordingly! Do not stay here. I checked in an hour ago, ceiling tile missing in my room and a/c won't turn on. It can't be fixed after maintenance stopped by, staff seems incapable of managing issues such as being able to provide me a direct number to the manager, moving my room, removing an item they incorrectly charged me for or any of the sort. The bed was soo comfortable, I didn't want to get out of it. Bathroom was stocked with the essentials: shampoo, soaps, conditioners, lotion. The location is great as well. It is close to many different bars and restaurants within walking distance. The only complaint that I have was that during our stay, the fire alarm went off at 6 am for no reason and we all had to leave. I surprised my boyfriend with a 2 night stay over the Father's Day weekend for Father's Day and our anniversary. We were pleasantly surprised with a bottle of wine compliments of the hotel. Saturday morning market just a couple blocks away. Shuttle to Tropicana park was also just down the street. Easy parking garage connected to hotel elevator. This is a great hotel for exploring downtown St Pete. Comfortable rooms, great staff and huge breakfast (although, we've only partaken once, too busy sleeping from all the fun from previous night). This is by no means a Resort, but what it offers is great on the wallet as well as being centrally located. We never moved our car during our entire stay. Almost everything worth seeing and almost all of the great restaurants (and, believe me, St Pete has a slew of great non-chain restaurants from fine dining casual to great hole in the wall tacos, burgers, Sushi and delis joints). As noted, the staff is extremely friendly, responsive and welcoming. We have stayed here twice and are looking forward to our next long visit over Thanksgiving weekend. Great location right downtown. Love being able to walk to dinner. The breakfasts are so convenient every morning. We will be back in March and this is our first choice to stay. read more
