I love staying at Bed and Breakfast. I wasn't familiar with St. Petersburg, and I didn't know where to book the hotel. After researching, this place seemed to fit my needs. Walking distance to everything and near a stop for a free loop bus. I also liked that they had Social Hour from 5 to 7 pm. You get one beer or one glass of wine. If you want a second, they charge only $2. It was nice before going to the town for dinner. The staff were friendly and the room was cute with antiques. The price was reasonable and with the location, I will stay here again.

I came to St. Petersburg for a vacation getaway with my son who was going for a concert and opening day of baseball. We chose Inn on Third based on reviews and price. I did not pay attention to the "hotel stars". This is a 2 star hotel rated establishment. The motif is antique which I don't care for. The room was very small with 2 twin beds. Mine was very uncomfortable. There was a wall air conditioner which was very loud. While watching TV, we had volume to 100 and still had a hard time hearing it. You had to stand 18" from the TV to change channels. It really was ridiculous. There really was nowhere to relax in the room except for the uncomfortable bed. The shower looked new , like a bath fitter type, compared to the rest of the place. The floor looked really dirty. I assumed it was washed but just really old. I don't know. I took a pic, you decide. There was no exhaust in the bathroom so it was so uncomfortable until i was able to open the door. Again travelling with ny son, so i cant keep door open while showeting. When we got there I hung my clothes I put on after a shower on back of door and there was a towel back there. It looked used and kinda grossed me out but thought maybe that just their towels. When I went in there later I noticed a hair on the towel so now I'm very grossed out and when I went to take the towel down it was all crusty. I felt like it was there a long time. First night ac couldn't kick over. It kept making hum.stop.hum.stop. 5:30 in the morning. We switched it to fan went back to sleep and it was fine when we switched it next morning. I have given a 3 star yelp rating as the staff was lovely. They offer free parking which is rare, free wifi which worked. They had continental breakfast and wine hour each day. We didn't partake in either of those but that's awesome. The location was awesome We were able to walk to many many places. Alot of folks return all the time and it was nice atmosphere, just not for me. My knee has arthritis and those stairs killed me

This was by far one of the worst experiences I've had at a Hotel. Everything started normal. We checked in no issues. Staff was friendly. We were due to stay there 6 days. Then...two days into our stay we were blindsided by allegations that we were using "the back door" to the hotel. Was also told we were propping it open and last but not least we were told multiple times to stop using it by the innkeeper. I'm sure you've guess the reason I'm here leaving a comment is because ABSOLUTELY NONE OF THIS HAPPENED!!! Was relaxing on the second night and received a missed call around 11:30pm stating what we had done. So naturally we're confused. There was a note on the door stating the same thing. So the next morning we went and spoke with Stephanie Cox and she said that the maintenance man (not sure of his title) seen every one going to and fro out of this door. I asked to speak with him and she said he was off duty conveniently. I ask for proof that he seen us. NONE. She said she trust him. He's been there 18 years and with that we were essentially LYING because he said so!! No one ever spoke to us prior saying anything about a door. We were profiled and guilty before and proof and subsequently threatened that we would be taken off the premises. Understand this me or anyone in my party had used that "door" | would have admitted it and apologized. I wouldn't have even inquired. We were RACIALLY profiled and dominated by the lies of "others" If you haven't figured it out yet I am an African American male that was traveling with family to a soccer camp and met with DISCRIMINATION. We were helpless against there ASSUMPTIONS. Terrible hotel. Terrible stay. If you're African American I wouldn't stay here.

Everything about The Inn on Third is +++... from Brian and his wife's personable greeting, to the charm this BnB has... on-site parking included. The morning breakfast as well as afternoon "Happy Hour" are touches the big hotel chains no longer bother with. If you're twenty-somethings, this might not be your place, but, folks wanting a nice, charming, quiet, accommodating stay in St Petersburg, who are over 30, this is not only affordable but refreshing.

My personal experience of The Hollander Hotel is what you'd expect from a local: I've had pastries at Common Grounds espresso bar, and even gotten my hair done by the resident stylist (fabulous complicated color job and cut!), and the Tap Room is always packed, so I feel confident in saying that this local hotel is just about perfect! Next, I'm going to try the massage therapists in the East Wing where my hair stylist was. I always recommend this boutique hotel for friends and family coming to visit us St. Pete! During our recent visit, the manager was unnecessarily confrontational and repeatedly made us feel unwelcome. Multiple guests also overheard her making disparaging comments about us to other employees. Another staff member ultimately found a simple solution by relocating us to the pool bar, where the staff was fantastic. What is equally disappointing is the lack of accountability afterward. I sent a detailed complaint directly to the Food & Beverage Director and, after receiving no response, followed up several days later. Both messages have gone unanswered. Poor customer service can happen. Refusing to even acknowledge or respond to a legitimate customer complaint is a management choice. Very disappointing from an establishment we previously enjoyed and supported.

We were excited to discover that the hotel is just a short walk away from one of our favorite beaches, Upham beach, which made the trip even more special. The property had a fun South Beach feel with plenty of seating to socialize, a cute pool with bright flamingo floats, a hot tub, and a great outdoor pool bar. Natalia was a great bartender, she was friendly and gave the most awesome recommendations off the menu. She did not miss a beat! Randy was a fantastic host. He was in communication via text as soon as the room was ready and greeted us immediately as we arrived on the property which does not require you to check in as they send you your room number and code to get in. In the room they also leave all important information including your parking pass and two complimentary drink tickets for a convenient arrival no matter what time you get in. Our room was clean, modern, and comfortable, with a king bed, updated bathroom, big-screen TV, and a convenient kitchenette. There were complimentary mimosas in the lobby each morning. Unfortunately, the noise level significantly impacted our stay. We were in Room 28, and directly behind the room is a hallway used by staff from the upstairs bar. Throughout the first night, we heard a heavy door repeatedly slamming and staff using rolling carts to transport trash. The noise continued until about 3:00 a.m., making it very difficult to sleep. The next morning, I expressed my concerns to the front desk. He was polite, apologized, and said he would pass the information along. However, the noise resumed again the following night. Around 11:30 p.m., I stepped into the hallway and observed someone pulling trash on one of the carts; they did not appear interested in engaging when I tried to address it. Closer to midnight, after another loud door slam, I spoke with a different staff member who was very receptive and respectful. After that conversation, the noise level did decrease. I understand that hotel operations continue behind the scenes, but for a property positioned as an upscale boutique experience, I would expect better late-night noise control -- especially in rooms directly adjacent to service areas. The hotel has a lot of potential, and the cleanliness was excellent. However, due to the repeated overnight noise disruption, I would be hesitant to stay in that location of the property again.

The service in this hotel is very good overall. The pools and the beach are superb. We chose this resort as a special anniversary vacation, and this is part of the lower review. We ultimately felt the hotel discount promotion and phone sales was misleading. Ambiguous communication led us to believe we would receive a free night, however we later realized and were told that the discount was already built in to our price, although no sign of discount was found anywhere on our invoice. I'm self employed and I've managed business for 35 years, and I've not seen discounts that don't show on an invoice. Se beware of promotional discount offers as it may not be what you expect, and you'll be left with no way to disprove the phantom discount because it's not on your invoice, apparently is just spoken. Overall service was very good. We had a minor blip in the maritana, which was the wrong dessert brought to us, and presented as "happy anniversary" with a chocolate that said that, but was strangely charged to us. The waitress handled it like a pro. I would advise the chef to either ignore birthdays and anniversaries and that sort of thing, or offer a small free dessert. But definitely don't bring out a "happy anniversary" dessert then charge for it. Also had overcooked hard poached eggs at the society table - no big deal just no runny yolk. If not for the price, who cares? But with such a great menu and fantastic chef, they should get eggs right. No discount offered. But I ate it so... All of our food was great, and really well developed and complete dishes as if it were Michelin rated. Cheers to the chef. Just two very minor fails. Overall it was a nice stay but we won't go back mainly because ultimately they didn't step up over a $600ish discrepancy over a 5 night stay. Look at my reviews. It's very rare I don't write 5 stars. I'm not one of those people that gives a bunch of bad reviews. The highlight of this resort is the beach, the pools, and the menu. Service is good overall. So definitely some good.

The staff was friendly and attentive. The lobby is beautiful, very spacious, with high ceilings and large windows that make it feel bright and welcoming. I really liked the style. We booked a room with two queen beds for two adults and two kids. The room was simple, very clean, and everything looked fresh and well maintained. The furniture seemed new, and it had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. There was a mini fridge, a safe, a TV (which made our kids very happy), a coffee maker with coffee pods and tea bags, a hair dryer, an iron with an ironing board, an extra pillow, and plenty of towels. The bathroom had wall-mounted shampoo, conditioner, and body wash, plus hand soap, body lotion, makeup remover wipes, and soft facial tissues. One thing I really appreciated was the extra security. The room opens with a key card, but once you're inside you can lock it so the key card won't open the door. There is also an additional security latch, which gave us extra peace of mind while traveling with kids. It was very quiet at night, and we all slept well. The location is great--about a 10-minute walk to the pier, and we even had a partial water view from our window. There is also a pool. The only thing I noticed was a couple of spots where the pool's underwater coating had chipped, so it could use a little maintenance. Overall, we had a really nice stay. St. Petersburg is a beautiful city with plenty to see, nice places to walk, and it didn't feel overcrowded. We'd definitely stay here again.

Since the facial and massages are usually $225.each, this is a pretty good deal. The one major downside to the spa is the valet parking. You get two hours validated for $12, but then it is $12 an hour after that. If you get to the spa early to make sure you're not rushed, plus spending time after eating, this ends up being a not inexpensive valet parking bill. I'm really surprised there isn't a flat rate or that they don't validate more of your parking. Especially given how expensive the treatments are. I have to say I like the hard rock spa a lot more. The main reason is because the facilities here are small and seem a little rundown. The actual spa services are separate from where their steam room and salt room is. So you have to walk in your robe through the hallway to get from one to the other. Also, the salt room and steam room weren't turned on when we got there so we had to wait for both rooms to heat up. It is a bit confusing on how to turn them on, so we were lucky that one of the employees was nearby for us to ask. All the services are fantastic though. So if you're coming just for the service and not for a Spa experience, this place is pretty good. The massage was one of the best I've had in a long time. My masseuse really got into my back, which was fantastic. I thought the facial was well done as well. So if your plan is to come solo, this place isn't bad, but if you're coming with friends and want to experience more than just your services, I wouldn't recommend this place. I was also surprised that you don't get access to the pool with your Spa service, which is pretty standard for other places.
