I was considering this hotel and another one. I am happy that I went with this one as it was the perfect choice. The hotel was in close proximity to key places I planned to visit. Although I didn't love that there was valet for parking, it was a great experience. The guys who worked the valet did a fantastic job. Sometimes there was a wait but very professional. The hotel staff were great also, though I interacted with them minimally, beyond checking in and checking out. My room was great with once exception, my view was the ac units. A bit nosy but what can i do? Clean and comfortable accommodation. The rooftop bar Cane and Barrel was a hit also. I went to the rooftop for a few drinks and it was great. I thought their drinks were a bit pricey without the top shelf liquor loved the space and music. I would stay here again. Though I have some minor complaints my stray was great overall. read more

The hotel is nice, aesthetically it's pleasing. The rooftop bar is cool. The food is mid but not awful by any means. The water pressure in the shower? Forget about it . The water constantly goes from hot to cool and you're constantly trying to adjust the temp. Also, the bar soap?? It feels like a slimy film no matter how much water you wash your hands with. Please get different bar soap. Elevators are awkward, you have to scan your key card to go to your floor, but the scanner doesn't always register the card right away so the elevator starts moving and I've seen multiple people miss the floor they wanted to go to because of this. Small thing, but they don't supply tissues in the room. :/ I would consider this a pretty mid hotel, the Hyatt across the road is a lot better in my opinion. read more

The front desk told me parking across the street was hourly and about the same. Its $15 and the hotel is $42. The check in was smooth the hotel is clean. No one had a pet friendly restaurant recommendation, just walk that way. The restaurant upstairs is lackluster. It took awhile. The customer next to me had a dirty glass and they just put her drink in a different glass, she gave it is back. She actually asked them if they had a chef, I was doubting ordering food myself and turned down protein on my salad because I had the same thought based on the feel and tone of the establishment. I was given my salad in two little boxes, they aren't prepared for to go orders. No napkins, pepper and salt or silverware. The manager got me a little container of pepper then went back for silverware. I got tired of waiting and grabbed a set from a table. The big deck closes at dusk where the pool is so no relaxing outside. It wasn't opening in the morning either and one of the workers said he had no idea when it opens, it was 7:15am. My room was cozy until the air-conditioner kicked in. It whistles and kept waking us up. I have a video. The shower has a long piece of plastic that blocks water from seeping out and it was loose and I spent way too much time trying to fit it it back on to keep the floor dry. Its 2 blocks everytime my aussie had to go out , no grass or place for them in town or designated by the pet frondly hotel. That was okay until it was 10pm and they had to go. I would probably not stay here again, with or without my pets. That same money will get you an amazing room elsewhere. read more

This location was perfect for what we were doing in St Pete, but I didn't think about the location to the nightclubs. Check in was easy, the lobby area nice. Our room was spacious and was clean. We should have realized it would be noisy when we saw the ear plugs on the nightstand. We could hear very loud music well into the night, and this was a Sunday night. I would think the weekend would be worse. Nice hotel, but just too noisy for a good night sleep. read more

We did a 4 night stay at this hotel during the week. It's pretty. It's bright. It's new, but it's got downsides. FIRST, complements to Alice & Bolar,in particular! Big smile and really friendly...assets to the team. Nathaniel is great too...fun personality. Lastly, Lindas on top of things and very helpful too! OVERALL, I would stay here again, but I'd insist on proper room cleaning b/c of previous experience. CLEANLINESS is an issue, but one that could be fixed very quickly while this hotel is in new condition. PROS: -GREAT, big, open gym!!! LOVE IT -Very pretty rooftop pool -NEW furnishings - stiff and very industrial, no real warmth, but new and nice -Pretty lobby -Location - can't beat it if you need to be in that area -"C" is for (complimentary) COOKIES! CONS: -Already not being cleaned well. The floors weren't clean. I switched rooms because there was urine & pubic hair on the floor from the last guest, so cleanliness is lacking. In the next room, the rug on the floor was obviously not clean. Under the couch...nastiness. Pic included for your enjoyment. -YOU DO NOT want to stay here with kids. They went so "fancy pants" on the industrial bathroom door that they overlooked being able to peak in from the sides. Brilliant. -Breakfast buffet is overpriced. It's not included. I had a Marriott certificate that was going to expire so I went online to see where I could use it. Hadn't been to downtown St Petersburg in probably 15 years, I heard it had gone through a revitalization, so I thought I'd check it out. The hotel is very nice. It's super clean and it's right in the middle of everything. Walking distance to all the museums, restaurants, the pier, and the stadium. Once you're here, you don't need a car at all. Parking at the hotel is $39 a day. Directly across the street is a parking garage for 20. Rooms are spotless with comfortable beds. Staff was friendly and housekeeping was always cleaning. There's a really nice gym with a peloton so I was even able to get a workout in. Nice pool with a view of the city and a rooftop bar and restaurant. My husband and I tried to go to the rooftop bar for a late afternoon snack. The hostess told us to take a seat at the bar or one of the tables in the side of the bar. When no one came over, we went to the bar and the bartender told us he couldn't serve us and we needed to get our own menus from the hostess. We decided to go to the lobby bar that was supposed to open at 5 o'clock for happy hour. There were people waiting for this bar bar to open, but it never did. The hotel was full, so I can't even imagine how much business was lost over this. The hotel was nice. I'm not sure I'll never need to go back to St Pete again but if I do, I would definitely consider staying here again. read more

The AC Hotel enjoys a prime location in downtown Saint Petersburg, making it convenient for exploring local restaurants, shops, and attractions. Unfortunately, the overall experience fell short of expectations. While the location was excellent, the rooms were noisy due to street sounds and thin walls, making restful sleep difficult. The property also had a persistent musty odor, which detracted from the ambiance. Staff interactions were underwhelming, assistance felt minimal and lacked the hospitality you'd expect. Additionally, the elevators were notably slow, adding unnecessary delays. The most disappointing aspect was the rooftop bar, Cane & Barrel. Marketed as a highlight, it failed to deliver. The view consisted largely of a parking lot rather than the picturesque cityscape we anticipated. Seating arrangements were ok but the atmosphere lacked energy. Service was slow, and the drinks were poorly crafted both in taste and presentation. What should have been a memorable rooftop experience ended up being the biggest letdown of the stay. read more

Perfect mid-priced hotel right in the heart of downtown. This is the perfect spot if you're here for food, museums, and fun. I got an upgraded king room with a separate seating area (which I never used). The bed was ultra comfortable. The bath was clean with a great shower. Plenty of outlets and USBs. Big TV that you can stream to. Only slight knock is that there is almost no storage space for your clothes. Hotel has a breakfast buffet in the morning but I didn't use it. Plenty of places within a 5 minute walk that are much better. And they've got a bar/restaurant downstairs which again I didn't use since there are about 400 bars within 300 feet of this place! They have a really nice rooftop pool which I wanted to use but didn't. Unfortunately the bar is not by the pool but 2 floors up with another restaurant. Seems like a missed opportunity. If I come back I definitely will stay here. Given the central location, I'm shocked the prices weren't outrageous (maybe they are in the summer). read more

Positives: - The hotel is new and clean. - bed was comfortable - It is in a convenient area and many places to walk to. - Staff were helpful and prompt with bringing things to the room like extra coffee - The rooftop bar and restaurant are convenient and the food & drinks were good (we had a corporate event here) Detractors: - The breakfast is not included automatically, and the selection is terrible. You'd be better off walking a block down the street to Craft Kafe and getting some fresh wonderful coffee and food. - The light in the first room we had was on auto-on/off and the light under the bench would go off and on all the time. We pulled the plug on it. - Pool opens at 7, where if you have a morning meeting, it's not really enough time to swim and then start your day. - From our first room on Saturday night there was loud music playing; it may not have been from the hotel, but it was annoying. Second room (stayed till Friday night) was quiet. - Second room overlooked the AC units. It was ugly. - Coffee in the room was terrible (I suppose to be expected). They said there is free coffee downstairs, but I did not try it. - They have valet parking and it could take a good 10 - 15 minutes to retrieve your vehicle when you need it (even if you give them notice). -no microwave, only fridge in the room. - no real place to put your clothing - translucent sliding glass door to the bathroom (with a huge gap and a loud fan that you can't turn off) means that if you have a partner who uses it at night, the light / noise will wake you up read more

Came for the weekend to watch the race. Great location center to many restaurants and activities for the weekend and walking distance both to the beach and to the race. Nice seamless lobby and kept well. My room was sizable as it was clean and tidy. What can I say we lucked out with a friendly and helpful staff throughout my stay. They made sure we were taken care of throughout my stay. We received a voucher for breakfast which turned out to be was very good we enjoyed the different options. My primary con was the fire drill that happened on Sunday morning- we could not hear the warning sirens in the room it wasn't until I walked out and downstairs that I learned what was going on. We just stayed at the AC Downtown St. Pete for our son's wedding. The staff was seriously the best I have ever had. The valet, front desk and housekeeping could not have been better. We were there 1 week after Hurricane Milton and they were fully staffed and so friendly. We had a Welcome Party for 100 people in the Cane and Barrel rooftop bar. The food and bar service were perfect. We were so nervous trying to pull off this wedding weekend but the AC Hotel did not disappoint. Would definitely go back and highly recommend it. The location was perfect for our event and Joel Valencia and Tracey Prince were so great to work with especially with all the indecision and changes due to the hurricanes. Thanks again! read more

The front desk clerk literally took my room back from me and gave it to another guy. Worst Marriott experience ever. All this despite being a Bonvoy member. Good hotel especially for the price and location. Hotel staff was friendly including the bartenders and servers at both the Cane & Barrel restaurant and the lobby's bar. Nice and sleek new hotel. Rooms were good except for our room had a bump-out where the wall-hung tv was. It left very little space between the end of the bed and the tv and wall itself. Made the room seem a little smaller too. But otherwise, a nice room. Not sure if all the 1 King bed rooms are like this? Great location in that you are walking distance to the nightlife hub (bars and restaurants) of downtown St. Pete. Also walking distance to Al Lang stadium and the Dali Museum. Pool has a pretty nice view. Just wish there was a bar nearby or at least service for drinks and/or snacks. As previous reviewers have stated, valet parking is sort of an ordeal. We had to wait at least 15 minutes to get our car on a Sunday at around 11:30am. read more

I had a great stay at the AC Hotel. It is perfectly located downtown St. Petersburg, FL. The hotel is a short walk to the Pier and all the delicious restaurants downtown. The staff at the AC Hotel were excellent and attentive throughout my entire stay. The hotel is a new construction building, so everything such as the rooms, gym, restaurant, and bar/lounge area are new. When you visit St. Petersburg, I highly recommend staying at the AC Hotel if you like new construction and excellent customer service. read more

When we arrived and went to the rooftop bar we were greeted with a horrible gas smell. I had to ask if there was a gas leak. I couldn't stay up there due to smell. My husband ripped his pants on a chair up there due to a broken chair. On NYE night we asked for some glasses at the front desk and was told no. Music outside was so loud and no escaping it. We asked for turn down service and we were refused. For the price we pay...we expected better. We tried to reach out privately to resolve and they basically threw what was equivalent to $4.00. First impression of this hotel is new and nice, but it wears off super quickly. Rooms are nice, new and clean. Food at the hotel is good, but does feel very generic. Drinks are on point, and bar service was too. However, the staff are quite interesting at this property. Upon arrival valet told us there are no bell carts even though this is a 3 star property. They followed up by saying it's because they property was cheap and trying to save money. Awkward! I brought silk and other nice items on this trip I had to carry up to my room myself. The fd doubled down on the luggage carts and said the dolly (not a luggage cart) was the new brand standard and that ALL Marriotts were switching to this. I could not help but laugh at the thought of one of the Marriott Autograph Collections not having bell carts or service LOL. Weird interaction overall and for the most part this hotel is lacking in luxury overall. Hotel manager called to apologize but didn't offer any resolution. Just.. sorry we don't have bell carts. Overall this was a nice stay. The $10 breakfast buffet was good with lots of options. The room was clean with a modern minimalist vibe. I'm not sure how it's going to age though. The coffee pot didn't work and the bathroom turns on with the light and is VERY loud. We requested a room with a king bed and got a room with 2 double beds. We came back to our room in the late afternoon and the room was not refreshed. Only after asking the front desk we're we told the rooms are refreshed every other day. That is fine, but it would have been nice if that was communicated when we checked in. The staff is very friendly and the location is great!!! read more

The valet staff, especially Alix we're very sweet and helpful. She went out of her way to help me with my luggage and pulled my car up and waited while I ran across the street to pick my coffee up. The AC units had issues so we had to move rooms - 2 maintenance guys couldn't fix it. Front desk was nice until we asked for water, and the "Hydration stations" had no cups. Workers seemed annoyed. This hotel is trash, the AC unit in our room was not working and made for a very sweaty sleep. They sent multiple maintenance individuals to our room to fix it, and even though they all said it was fixed, it was not. Therefore, we had to transfer rooms mid stay. The floor we stayed on also smelled like shit. Literally smelled like fish and wet dog. After leaving something in the original room, we were unable to get the item back due to poor management and lack of customer service. On top of that, they were not willing to give us extra water bottles upon request, even being here for a wedding and them specifically listing on the invitation to ask for extra water bottles upon request. This was my second stay at this hotel. The first one was not good. But thought I would give it another chance. Stayed on a Sunday night in downtown St. Petersburg. November 26 & 27, 2023. Everyone knows Sunday night at a downtown hotel is always slow. Business guests come in on Mondays. I called ahead and was told the hotel had plenty of rooms. Checked in. The front desk never acknowledged that I was a Titanium Elite member as the front desk could care less. Currently, I have stayed 104 nights in a Marriott property this year. The Front Desk said they had no upgrades. I was expecting that from my last stay at this place. Then got to the room. The front door is damaged and this hotel only opened 10 months earlier. The light switch didn't work, I got the smallest floor plan and it had a chair similar to what you would expect in a Nursing Home. The bed was good and the pillows. Went to bed only to be awakened at 5:45 AM with the trash dumpster being emptied below my window in an alley. Major noise and banging for what seemed like 5-10 minutes. Breakfast at $22 was fewer choices than when I visited this property 7 or so months ago. The front desk needs major training. Poor management. I would suggest The Hyatt across the street. Friendly and professional employees, upgraded each time I have stayed there, and their hot freshly cooked breakfast changes daily and it is complimentary. If you prefer Marriott properties try the Courtyard hotel a couple of blocks away. Nice employees, totally updated this year, indoor pool if desired, and note its rating and reviews are much better than this AC Hotel. Maybe it is because you get daily maid service which you do not get at the AC Hotel. read more

While staff was friendly, this was just not good experience. the major issue was strong gas order on roof top bar that made it impossible to sit and enjoy and drink. we alerted staff, and they said fire pits were just filled, but the smell didn't dissipate at all. and the roof top was nearly empty on a nice day, so I assume it was there for a while. I also ripped my pants on a staple sticking out from side of chair. They also only do turn down service ever other day, so for a two night stay they will refuse to tidy up your room, but will only give you towels, that were just thrown in our bathroom. Given it was new years, the price per night was expensive, and they couldn't even get us a champagne glass for a toast, even though there is a bar on property. Best to avoid, this hotel. sad as its new, but does not meet the expectations of the Marriott brand. Tried to resolve it with Marriott but they didn't make it right. read more
