This location was perfect for what we were doing in St Pete, but I didn't think about the location to the nightclubs. Check in was easy, the lobby area nice. Our room was spacious and was clean. We should have realized it would be noisy when we saw the ear plugs on the nightstand. We could hear very loud music well into the night, and this was a Sunday night. I would think the weekend would be worse. Nice hotel, but just too noisy for a good night sleep.

What's that on the toilet seat upon check-in? Don't want to know.

We did a 4 night stay at this hotel during the week. It's pretty. It's bright. It's new, but it's got downsides. FIRST, complements to Alice & Bolar,in particular! Big smile and really friendly...assets to the team. Nathaniel is great too...fun personality. Lastly, Lindas on top of things and very helpful too! OVERALL, I would stay here again, but I'd insist on proper room cleaning b/c of previous experience. CLEANLINESS is an issue, but one that could be fixed very quickly while this hotel is in new condition. PROS: -GREAT, big, open gym!!! LOVE IT -Very pretty rooftop pool -NEW furnishings - stiff and very industrial, no real warmth, but new and nice -Pretty lobby -Location - can't beat it if you need to be in that area -"C" is for (complimentary) COOKIES! CONS: -Already not being cleaned well. The floors weren't clean. I switched rooms because there was urine & pubic hair on the floor from the last guest, so cleanliness is lacking. In the next room, the rug on the floor was obviously not clean. Under the couch...nastiness. Pic included for your enjoyment. -YOU DO NOT want to stay here with kids. They went so "fancy pants" on the industrial bathroom door that they overlooked being able to peak in from the sides. Brilliant. -Breakfast buffet is overpriced. It's not included. HARD PASS -Valet is Slloowwwww. You have to call down or go down, unlike the. much older Marriott around the corner where you can just text and boom-car is ready -CRAZY parking cost with no viable self-park options

I had a Marriott certificate that was going to expire so I went online to see where I could use it. Hadn't been to downtown St Petersburg in probably 15 years, I heard it had gone through a revitalization, so I thought I'd check it out. The hotel is very nice. It's super clean and it's right in the middle of everything. Walking distance to all the museums, restaurants, the pier, and the stadium. Once you're here, you don't need a car at all. Parking at the hotel is $39 a day. Directly across the street is a parking garage for 20. Rooms are spotless with comfortable beds. Staff was friendly and housekeeping was always cleaning. There's a really nice gym with a peloton so I was even able to get a workout in. Nice pool with a view of the city and a rooftop bar and restaurant. My husband and I tried to go to the rooftop bar for a late afternoon snack. The hostess told us to take a seat at the bar or one of the tables in the side of the bar. When no one came over, we went to the bar and the bartender told us he couldn't serve us and we needed to get our own menus from the hostess. We decided to go to the lobby bar that was supposed to open at 5 o'clock for happy hour. There were people waiting for this bar bar to open, but it never did. The hotel was full, so I can't even imagine how much business was lost over this. The hotel was nice. I'm not sure I'll never need to go back to St Pete again but if I do, I would definitely consider staying here again.

Perfect mid-priced hotel right in the heart of downtown. This is the perfect spot if you're here for food, museums, and fun. I got an upgraded king room with a separate seating area (which I never used). The bed was ultra comfortable. The bath was clean with a great shower. Plenty of outlets and USBs. Big TV that you can stream to. Only slight knock is that there is almost no storage space for your clothes. Hotel has a breakfast buffet in the morning but I didn't use it. Plenty of places within a 5 minute walk that are much better. And they've got a bar/restaurant downstairs which again I didn't use since there are about 400 bars within 300 feet of this place! They have a really nice rooftop pool which I wanted to use but didn't. Unfortunately the bar is not by the pool but 2 floors up with another restaurant. Seems like a missed opportunity. If I come back I definitely will stay here. Given the central location, I'm shocked the prices weren't outrageous (maybe they are in the summer).

We loved this hotel! I am so surprised that it is not rated better on yelp. The hotel is absolutely stunning and immaculately clean. Our room was spacious and the decor was gorgeous. Bed was so comfortable! Bathroom was clean, spacious and bright. Everyone here was also so great - the valet, front desk, other staff. We would definitely stay here again!! In fact, we can't wait to!

Stayed here four nights. Positives: - The hotel is new and clean. - bed was comfortable - It is in a convenient area and many places to walk to. - Staff were helpful and prompt with bringing things to the room like extra coffee - The rooftop bar and restaurant are convenient and the food & drinks were good (we had a corporate event here) Detractors: - The breakfast is not included automatically, and the selection is terrible. You'd be better off walking a block down the street to Craft Kafe and getting some fresh wonderful coffee and food. - The light in the first room we had was on auto-on/off and the light under the bench would go off and on all the time. We pulled the plug on it. - Pool opens at 7, where if you have a morning meeting, it's not really enough time to swim and then start your day. - From our first room on Saturday night there was loud music playing; it may not have been from the hotel, but it was annoying. Second room (stayed till Friday night) was quiet. - Second room overlooked the AC units. It was ugly. - Coffee in the room was terrible (I suppose to be expected). They said there is free coffee downstairs, but I did not try it. - They have valet parking and it could take a good 10 - 15 minutes to retrieve your vehicle when you need it (even if you give them notice). -no microwave, only fridge in the room. - no real place to put your clothing - translucent sliding glass door to the bathroom (with a huge gap and a loud fan that you can't turn off) means that if you have a partner who uses it at night, the light / noise will wake you up

My personal experience of The Hollander Hotel is what you'd expect from a local: I've had pastries at Common Grounds espresso bar, and even gotten my hair done by the resident stylist (fabulous complicated color job and cut!), and the Tap Room is always packed, so I feel confident in saying that this local hotel is just about perfect! Next, I'm going to try the massage therapists in the East Wing where my hair stylist was. I always recommend this boutique hotel for friends and family coming to visit us St. Pete! During our recent visit, the manager was unnecessarily confrontational and repeatedly made us feel unwelcome. Multiple guests also overheard her making disparaging comments about us to other employees. Another staff member ultimately found a simple solution by relocating us to the pool bar, where the staff was fantastic. What is equally disappointing is the lack of accountability afterward. I sent a detailed complaint directly to the Food & Beverage Director and, after receiving no response, followed up several days later. Both messages have gone unanswered. Poor customer service can happen. Refusing to even acknowledge or respond to a legitimate customer complaint is a management choice. Very disappointing from an establishment we previously enjoyed and supported.

The property had a fun South Beach feel with plenty of seating to socialize, a cute pool with bright flamingo floats, a hot tub, and a great outdoor pool bar. Natalia was a great bartender, she was friendly and gave the most awesome recommendations off the menu. She did not miss a beat! Randy was a fantastic host. He was in communication via text as soon as the room was ready and greeted us immediately as we arrived on the property which does not require you to check in as they send you your room number and code to get in. In the room they also leave all important information including your parking pass and two complimentary drink tickets for a convenient arrival no matter what time you get in. Our room was clean, modern, and comfortable, with a king bed, updated bathroom, big-screen TV, and a convenient kitchenette. There were complimentary mimosas in the lobby each morning. Unfortunately, the noise level significantly impacted our stay. We were in Room 28, and directly behind the room is a hallway used by staff from the upstairs bar. Throughout the first night, we heard a heavy door repeatedly slamming and staff using rolling carts to transport trash. The noise continued until about 3:00 a.m., making it very difficult to sleep. The next morning, I expressed my concerns to the front desk. He was polite, apologized, and said he would pass the information along. However, the noise resumed again the following night. Around 11:30 p.m., I stepped into the hallway and observed someone pulling trash on one of the carts; they did not appear interested in engaging when I tried to address it. Closer to midnight, after another loud door slam, I spoke with a different staff member who was very receptive and respectful. After that conversation, the noise level did decrease. I understand that hotel operations continue behind the scenes, but for a property positioned as an upscale boutique experience, I would expect better late-night noise control -- especially in rooms directly adjacent to service areas. The hotel has a lot of potential, and the cleanliness was excellent. However, due to the repeated overnight noise disruption, I would be hesitant to stay in that location of the property again.

The views are beautiful, and the location is right on the beach. There are plenty of spaces in the lobby for working, plenty of meeting rooms (or ball rooms if you're there for a formal event), and areas to just relax or work. The resort provides live music various days of the week as well. I will say that I was surprised about the lack of dining options. There is a lobby bar (which doesn't open until 3pm), and just two restaurant options. Maritana is only open a few days a week and not open until 5:30pm, although the lobby bar does serve a few small plates. The Society Table has a bar within their restaurant (Rowe Bar I believe), and I experienced both as they both have different menus. The lobby bar menu is small but great; the Wagyu Sliders and charcuterie board were both delicious. The wine list is fairly extensive as well. I dined at the society table for lunch on the day that I left and I got the Gumbo with jalapeño cornbread. This was very delicious; I do feel there should've been more than a few pieces of chopped up shrimp. My waitress was wonderful though and very kind as well as the hostess. For the days we were provided food by the resort for the work conference, I was very impressed! All of the breakfast, lunch, and dinner options were incredibly extensive, fresh, and delicious. The servers were very attentive and helpful. The room service menu although overpriced and included a $5 "delivery charge," is very extensive and tasty. For example, an omelet with toast (small salad included with the omelette), was almost $60 including tip. That being said, it was the best omelette I've ever had. The guest services for room service and the cleaners were incredibly friendly and helpful, especially Evan! Do note that this is a cashless resort. There are a few shops on the first floor for souvenirs, basic necessities for traveling, and then an adorable little shop/café with ice cream, coffee, wine, snacks, and drinks. On to the room! I really enjoyed my room. I feel like for one person or even two, it's a pretty spacious room. The bed was very comfortable as well as pillows. They cleaned my room each day, and provided new towels. The bathroom was clean and a decent size for one person. All of the events that the hotel put on for our conference were outstanding. We had a welcome party and a beach party, and I was incredibly impressed. The food was delicious, the staff incredibly attentive and kind, and the music wonderful! The Don CeSar was the perfect place for our conference and I would highly recommend a company conference there. The service in this hotel is very good overall. The pools and the beach are superb. We chose this resort as a special anniversary vacation, and this is part of the lower review. We ultimately felt the hotel discount promotion and phone sales was misleading. Ambiguous communication led us to believe we would receive a free night, however we later realized and were told that the discount was already built in to our price, although no sign of discount was found anywhere on our invoice. I'm self employed and I've managed business for 35 years, and I've not seen discounts that don't show on an invoice. Se beware of promotional discount offers as it may not be what you expect, and you'll be left with no way to disprove the phantom discount because it's not on your invoice, apparently is just spoken. Overall service was very good. We had a minor blip in the maritana, which was the wrong dessert brought to us, and presented as "happy anniversary" with a chocolate that said that, but was strangely charged to us. The waitress handled it like a pro. I would advise the chef to either ignore birthdays and anniversaries and that sort of thing, or offer a small free dessert. But definitely don't bring out a "happy anniversary" dessert then charge for it. Also had overcooked hard poached eggs at the society table - no big deal just no runny yolk. If not for the price, who cares? But with such a great menu and fantastic chef, they should get eggs right. No discount offered. But I ate it so... All of our food was great, and really well developed and complete dishes as if it were Michelin rated. Cheers to the chef. Just two very minor fails. Overall it was a nice stay but we won't go back mainly because ultimately they didn't step up over a $600ish discrepancy over a 5 night stay. Look at my reviews. It's very rare I don't write 5 stars. I'm not one of those people that gives a bunch of bad reviews. The highlight of this resort is the beach, the pools, and the menu. Service is good overall. So definitely some good.

The furniture seemed new, and it had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. There was a mini fridge, a safe, a TV (which made our kids very happy), a coffee maker with coffee pods and tea bags, a hair dryer, an iron with an ironing board, an extra pillow, and plenty of towels. The bathroom had wall-mounted shampoo, conditioner, and body wash, plus hand soap, body lotion, makeup remover wipes, and soft facial tissues. One thing I really appreciated was the extra security. The room opens with a key card, but once you're inside you can lock it so the key card won't open the door. There is also an additional security latch, which gave us extra peace of mind while traveling with kids. It was very quiet at night, and we all slept well. The location is great--about a 10-minute walk to the pier, and we even had a partial water view from our window. There is also a pool. The only thing I noticed was a couple of spots where the pool's underwater coating had chipped, so it could use a little maintenance. Overall, we had a really nice stay. Since the facial and massages are usually $225.each, this is a pretty good deal. The one major downside to the spa is the valet parking. You get two hours validated for $12, but then it is $12 an hour after that. If you get to the spa early to make sure you're not rushed, plus spending time after eating, this ends up being a not inexpensive valet parking bill. I'm really surprised there isn't a flat rate or that they don't validate more of your parking. Especially given how expensive the treatments are. I have to say I like the hard rock spa a lot more. The main reason is because the facilities here are small and seem a little rundown. The actual spa services are separate from where their steam room and salt room is. So you have to walk in your robe through the hallway to get from one to the other. Also, the salt room and steam room weren't turned on when we got there so we had to wait for both rooms to heat up. It is a bit confusing on how to turn them on, so we were lucky that one of the employees was nearby for us to ask. All the services are fantastic though. So if you're coming just for the service and not for a Spa experience, this place is pretty good. The massage was one of the best I've had in a long time. My masseuse really got into my back, which was fantastic. I thought the facial was well done as well. So if your plan is to come solo, this place isn't bad, but if you're coming with friends and want to experience more than just your services, I wouldn't recommend this place. I was also surprised that you don't get access to the pool with your Spa service, which is pretty standard for other places.
