Disclaimer: This review is for their excellent valet service and courtesy EV charging. My hotel did not offer an EV charger, but the Hyatt Regency was just a block or so away and it popped up in my EV charger Google search. When I got to their valet I explained how I was not staying with them but I needed an overnight charge so that I can make it back to Austin the next morning. They were super nice and helpful and explained how the charger was in use but that it would be freed up soon. They promised to do it for me so I didn't have to worry about waiting on the other vehicle. The next morning my 2020 Nissan LEAF was fully charged and ready to go! Additional disclaimer: I'm not sure what brand they have but I got a sense that it might be a Tesla level 2 charger (AKA "destination charger"). So while my LEAF has a standard J1772 port, I also happen to have a quality NACS to J1772 adapter. So good idea to have one just in case, because I can't verify what type they use. Just a heads up it got my attention when the valet asked me if I had an adapter. Anyway, shout out to the valet staff. I am so sorry I forgot the name of the person who retrieved my car, he was great and when I dropped it off, Armando and Alec were super courteous and helpful as well. I realize valet companies are not part of the hotel, but they are often times your first interaction/impression, and these guys are top notch. One more disclaimer: overnight parking is quite expensive, but it was just a little more than my hotel would have charged me anyway. So while very convenient, this was not cheap. read more

Stayed here for 5 nights for a conference in August 2026. It was a short walk (less than half a mile by riverwalk or surface streets) to the convention center, which makes it a great place to stay. I like that it's right on the riverwalk and very close to a bunch of different resultants. There is a riverwalk boat tour loading right outside the hotel, and a CVS 2 doors down. The staff is very friendly - I only spoke with the front desk, both upon check in and out. They are quick and very helpful. I stayed in room 967, which is an interior room. The interior rooms look out into the atrium/lobby area inside the hotel. Didn't have any real natural light and if your curtains were open and light on, it felt like other rooms could look in. So I left the curtains closed the whole time. It was very dark as the lights inside the room did not put off too much light. There is no dresser, but rather a place just in the door to hang clothes and 1 drawer. The room had a mini fridge and a kreurig, but only with decaf and dark roast (neither of what I drink). There is no microwave in the room. The room is small, but perfect for 1 person. I don't know how 2 people would fit in here unless 1 kept all their clothes in their suitcase. There is not much room to walk around, pull the ironing board out for use, and the bathroom was very small too. Overall, I would stay here again, but would hope for an exterior room for a bit more light so I wouldn't feel like a blood sucking vampire ‍ read more

Great property and super friendly staff. This is the second time I'm staying here and really enjoyed the experience. Globalists get free breakfast and I highly recommend the San Antonio skillet(it is amazing) and if on a free night or points award they include complimentary valet. The roof top pool is great and also provides great city views. So why A 4 star and not a 5? The walls are paper thin, anything above a whisper you can hear as if they were sitting in your room. Did not plan to come here, but our pool at the Air B&B was closed for some unknown reason (we still don't know why), but thrilled Hyatt Regency offered a day pass for the pool! Talk about life saver during our trip to San Antonio. Booked it online and checked in a little after 10:00am and checkout was 6:00pm. Price was SO reasonable. We got our day pool pass with a room to keep our belongings in and go back and forth to. It was slick!! Such a nice offering and I'd definitely do it again when I'm back and/or maybe even stay here. Drinks are served at the pool if that's of any interest. We went down to the bar ourselves and unfortunately, the bartender was blah, but other stay we encountered were pleasant and friendly. What a fantastic stay at a fantastic hotel! The location is great. Only one block from the Alamo! And, right on the famous Riverwalk. The staff was warm, welcoming and always helpful. Everyone smiled and was very attentive. The hotel is neat and well decorated. The registration desk staff stood out for service and helpfulness. I spent a week there for conference. Even the hotel food was amazing. Please note that this is a cashless hotel. As I was about to leave, the ATM in the lobby wasn't working. There is one on the Riverwalk level that only gives out $20. I teetered between 3 and 4 stars, as it was really more like a 3.5 experience, but I'm rounding up based on the kind folks working the front desk and the great location directly on the Riverwalk. I arrived on little sleep and an early morning flight from Virginia. I requested an early check-in around noon, and they were super kind to check me right in. I was placed on the 10th floor (out of 11), but it was my first time staying in a Hyatt Regency, so I had no idea that they had interior facing rooms. I can confirm that I absolutely hate an interior facing room. Not being able to look out and see the weather outside. Hearing the lobby noise, even from that high up. It made me feel claustrophobic. In the future, I will specifically request an exterior room, though I was in town for work so I'm unsure if that would've even been an option in this case. I know others around me were in the same block, as I could hear their conversation perfectly through the wall. The room itself was clean, comfortable, and spacious. It took me hours to figure out how to turn all the lights off, especially the wardrobe light. They only provided one roll of toilet paper and didn't replace it when empty, so I had to grab toilet paper off one of the housekeeper's carts (I had said "excuse me" like 5x but they were in another room and didn't hear me). They also didn't replace the coffee once used despite it being a 3-night stay, however, they did adjust my AC, which was annoying and took forever to correct as it kept reverting back to making it frigid. Another room qualm is the size of the fridge. Microwaves were in the hall only, and the fridge was miniscule. It could barely fit anything. The downstairs market was quite nice and the folks working were primarily pleasant. Reasonably priced, too! The woman working the breakfast shift even remembered me on my second visit. The hotel restaurant was good as well, I'll give it a review of its own soon. The elevators were transparent, so if you're afraid of heights, just look toward the front. Otherwise, they were cool and opened right to the Riverwalk. Check out was easy and again pleasant. I'd say this spot is a good choice in terms of convenience but there are probably better options if I had to guess. read more

Nice hotel with a great location, right on the riverwalk with access to many restaurants and attractions. About 20 minutes from the airport and right across from the Alamo. Room was modern and clean. Breakfast is not included, but they have a restaurant and little marketplace with some options. Issues: 1. Requested daily housekeeping upon checking and room was never cleaned over the course of our stay. 2. Requested a crib when booking, reminded them during check in and was told someone would be right up with it. Had to call hours later when we came back to the room and it was still not there. 3. Booked a king room and the bed felt like a queen. 4. Staff at check in did not offer us the welcome drink that was supposed to be included in the "resort fee", nor did they let us know any of the resort fee items. I had looked them up online, but feel like they should inform you what you are paying extra for! Staff didn't seem knowledgeable about some of these items either as they had to ask around regarding tour discounts they advertised. 5. If you have a small child and needed a bath tub, our room only had a standing shower. Overall, still a great place to stay when visiting San Antonio. read more

Back after 4 years during Christmas time to see the lights. I used a Suite Upgrade award for our stay, we got a very spacious room ( Riverbend suite). Love that the suite has 2 bathrooms, a great riverwalk view from living room & atrium view from bedroom. Have a little microwave that was very helpful when I needed to heat up food for my picky toddler. No more shortcut to Alamo like it used to. Music was quite loud in the evening as we were located on 2nd floor and I guess the noise came from the bar next door. Good stay in general, great location. it helped our elder family members who have knee & shoulder problems to be able to walk to nearby restaurants & go on a river cruise then carriage ride. read more

I'd give it a 5 if it hadn't been for the mattress and bathroom The mattress was a bit broken down enough where it made it difficult to get out of and relax as it was a bit sunken in for lack of better words Bathroom door was 1/2 in from toilet when opened so needed to step in next up wall or into shower to get in. This is a tough review because the hotel was great and in the best location for everything. Valet was a complete nightmare - however the woman running in charge was completely amazing at her job and so friendly! Check in was quick! Room was facing the Alamo and had tons of space for our stuff! Loved the shower, having a multiple shower head options with kids is a must! Every time I walked in I felt trapped by the Hyatt vacation club, I just wanted a map not a timeshare. Lobby was gorgeous, pool was small and busy and a little confusing to get to. The Riverwalk and Hyatt Regency compliment one another - the lobby is beautiful both inside and seeing the view of the river from the inside. The location provides easy access to everything including the Alamo, the mall, and all of the Riverwalk activities. We stayed on the Alamo side of the building, which offers a wonderful sunrise every morning, along with views of the city. I'm glad we stayed at this hotel using Hyatt points, since it made some of the less appealing features more palatable - while the property is beautiful, the bathrooms are very small and the shower pressure is pretty poor. The water temperature also was difficult to maintain consistently through a single shower. The staff is friendly, and while the concierge has a dual role of assisting customers and making reservations, they also extended invitations to their timeshare program (off-site) every time we ran into one another. One of the other frustrations is the cost of parking, valet parking is $57 a day, with a discount of about $15 per day if you self park across the street. Overall, it's the location that provides the greatest value at this hotel, and I certainly wouldn't hesitate recommending it with the items previously noted. read more

When I'm in San Antonio for leisure/pleasure, this is our go-to hotel. As a Hyatt loyalist, this hotel defines why it pays to be a Hyatt member. First, the location is close to the Alamo and attaches to the center of the Riverwalk giving convenience to explore all the nearby restaurants/bars/shops in comfortable walking distance. Second, the cleanliness and modernness of the hotel is to be commended as each time, my room was clean with a comfortable bed and plenty of space to relax during down time. My last stay, they upgraded me to a room on the top floor where the workout room and pool was making the trek there very easy. Third, the amenities of this hotel gives luxury vibes with a gorgeous rooftop pool, an exercise room with plenty of machines/workout options, a restaurant/bar at the lobby level, the access to the riverwalk on the bottom floor, and plenty of meeting rooms and lounge spaces for conferences/conventions. Finally, the staff is friendly and accommodating with knowledgeable front desk people and bellhops who will kindly bring your bags to your room for you (don't forget to tip them). We have a couple more trips to San Antonio for weekend getaways so this will be where we stay at. And we are anticipating enjoying all the resources that I had mentioned earlier for future trips here! read more

I was visiting San Antonio for the first time for a friends bday. We decided to stay here and overall it was a pretty good experience. It's in a great location- right outside the riverwalk and in a very walkable area to a lot of things (Bars, Restaurants, Alamo, attractions, etc). There is no shuttle service to the airport. The room was clean but it was on the smaller side and lacked a lot of storage. One of us practically had to live out of a suitcase. It was 2 Queen bed - however I would not want to stay in this room with more than 1 person. The bathroom was super small and only 1 person could be in it at a time. It also didn't have a full length mirror, which is hard when trying to see your full outfit. The beds were pretty comfortable. I did appreciate the prompt service when requesting towels etc. and also the lights underneath the beds that turned on when you walked by. (This helped easily go to the bathroom without needing a light or bothering another person in the room) I did also like the free bottled water given out at the front desk. However, the hotel restaurant Q Kitchen & Bar was not great. I would not recommend dinner here- the food was airport quality at its best. Dry, lack of flavor etc and was expensive. That was a bummer- but the lobby/restaurant area is a nice area with glass windows right outside the riverwalk. Overall experience- 3.5/5 read more

Nerve slept so well in a vacation before. They had motion sensor little lights on the bed so it was a bonus walking around to the restroom at night. The pool sucked, really small and not matching with the vibe. The bar/restaurant looked amazing and was nice ambiance but didn't try it. Pretty decent for budget and still fancy vibes. Free lemon/like water too! Parking was a little confusing across the street but definitely recommend the parking package with the hotel room. Don't need valet unless you're boujee. I've walked past the Hyatt Regency on the Riverwalk several times and hung out at Mad Dogs right outside of it, but never stayed in the hotel. I have to say I'm so glad we decided to stay here :) The lobby is lovely in a large open atrium and beautiful water feature on the river level. For parking you can choose to valet or self park across the street which is very closely located. The rooms were renovated not that long ago in 2022. You can tell that the lobby of course is older with decor renovations, which is totally expected on the riverwalk. A lot of these properties have been around for many many years, buuuut once you enter your room its all modern and intuitively designed. I got the opportunity to tour the hotel and suites. Very spacious and gorgeous city views. I really appreciated the attention to detail in the little things. The clothing rack has it's own light you can manage and plenty of rack space and drawer below. The coffee/tea station area has plenty of shelving and decent size fridge. Microwaves are not allowed or to be requested, but they do have a microwave located on each floor next to the ice machine. I always need access to a microwave! Water stations on each floor as well. I ALWAYS forget to bring bottled water when I travel so this is great. The floor to length mirror even has a little shelf on it to say put your room key or maybe use while you are putting your make up on. There is lighting conveniently located throughout the rooms and many outlets/USB plug. The restroom was outfitted in beautiful marble. I appreciated the bar step in the shower for us ladies to shave our legs and I loved that I could see what time it was on the mirror while getting ready. The staff went above and beyond and even brought us some sweet treats for our pup and wine for us humans. Location!!! If you want to enjoy the riverwalk this hotel is in a prime location. You are a 10 minute walk to the convention center and a short walk to access anywhere on the riverwalk. I highly recommend making this your next riverwalk stay! read more

I'm not gonna lie, I was impressed by this hotel, but would have been more impressed if one thing in the room was different. More on that later in the review. I came here to work a conference so I got a more immersive experience than most would. The location of the hotel is amazing. Right on the Riverwalk, close to many restaurants, stores nearby for any forgotten items, and best of all, one block from the Alamo. I had the joy of staying here for nearly a week for a work gig. I got to see a lot of the hotel from the hotel room, to the meeting space, to the shops/restaurants held within. This hotel has a lot to offer and could keep you inside the whole time. But don't, you'll regret that decision. With it sitting right along the Riverwalk you will sorely miss out on a lot of things. The neatest thing about this hotel is the elevators. They are all glass elevators that give you a good view of all that is going on in the hotel at all times. And, possible a view of people you may want to avoid so you can get to where you are going faster. What I did like about the hotel was the willingness to help when you needed something. The exhibit space was well organized and the hotel staff were amazing at getting us anything we needed for out table. The room itself was a modern style, but weird at the same time. This room over the last few weeks of travel was by far the room that had the least amount of storage space. If you enjoy living out of your suitcase or putting all your clothing into one drawer, then this is your jam. I mean, there are shelves, but I don't know about you, I don't want my underwear out on display for everyone to see. The shower was decent and this time I didn't get sprayed in the face with the wand portion of the showerhead. Enough room to freely move around and stocked well for one person for a week. But the best part of my room, the view. My view wasn't facing the Riverwalk, but the other direction. Where my room was located overlooked the Alamo perfectly. It was a nice surprise every morning when you opened the curtains. Access to the Riverwalk was direct from this hotel, take a separate elevator down and you just walk right outside. Also on that floor there are a few shops, restaurants, and places to take care of your beauty needs. Other things to note, there is a FedEx on property that will assist in your needs to receive/mail out packages. Food truck out front serving pizza. Great place to stay/observe Fiesta. Overall, this isn't a horrible place to stay, lots to do, and within walking distance of just about everything you want to do. read more

It features all the wonderful amenities from the bell hop who takes your luggage to your room for you as was done on yesteryear to the very nice concierge team. I stayed here for a conference two weekends ago and absolutely loved it here! Unfortunately, I am a Hilton loyalist, followed by Marriott, and I'm dedicated to develop my points on those platforms above all else (lol). BUT, I that doesn't mean I don't like Hyatt just as much, if not more... This location is conveniently close to the Alamo and as its name suggests, the Riverwalk. The amount of meeting rooms and space required for the conference I was attending was just right! The lobby was also inviting without feeling overwhelming. I like how you can refill your water bottle at refill stations by the elevators. The rooms are spacious, clean, and have a relaxing ambiance. The cleaning staff were super friendly, and even made my room in the afternoon (I had kept the do not disturb sign on all morning and accidentally took it off when I went up to my room for a break. After afternoon sessions, I returned and saw my bed had been made and fresh towels had been added to my bathroom!). I probably won't stay here again voluntarily, due to the loyalist tendencies I shared above with Hyatt's competitors, but if I had to stay here again for a conference or reasons out of my control, I absolutely would not complain! read more

Stayed here for a work conference and it was an enjoyable stay. Service was friendly and the room was spacious and clean. One thing I didn't like about the room though is the the closet space/area to hang clothes. It wasn't a closet area but an open shelf space in a corner on the opposite end of the room from the bathroom and mirror. And the area to hang the clothes was kind of awkward as well, being so short. I'm a normal sized dude (under 6' tall) but my suit jacket was touching the bottom of the closet area. Weird. It's like the closet area was an afterthought to the room. Other than that, things were good. Clean room like I said, comfortable bed, and great location for being in San Antonio. A block away from the Alamo, you can literally walk out the door onto the busy area of the Riverwalk, and close to restaurants and bars. read more

The location of this hotel is excellent, especially if your main goal is being close to the River Walk. You really cannot beat the convenience. Everything is within easy walking distance, including restaurants, shops, and all the energy the River Walk is known for. Being able to step outside and immediately be in the middle of the action was definitely a huge plus and made exploring the area incredibly easy. Unfortunately, the biggest downside was the noise level at night. Sleeping was extremely difficult because of the surrounding bars and clubs playing loud music well into the late hours. The noise carried straight into the room and made it hard to relax or get a full night of rest. Even late into the night, the music and street activity continued without much relief. If you are someone who enjoys nightlife and plans to stay out late, this location may actually be ideal for you. However, if you are looking for a quiet, restful stay or are a light sleeper, this may not be the best choice. The constant noise significantly impacted the overall experience despite the unbeatable location. Great spot for convenience and access to the River Walk, but be prepared for very lively nights and limited quiet time. read more

The entry was open and accessible with options for valet or self-parking. The parking was conveniently across the street in their structure that was well maintained for a downtown venue where I expected it to be a bit more challenging. The staff were very friendly and inviting - greeted with smiles and warm conversation. I didn't feel like a number of an inconvenience. They were helpful with suggestions for dinner and entertainment. The rooms were well-maintained and ample appointments for creature comforts. Facilities were designed with the patron in mind with accessible work space and bathrooms. The ballroom and meeting rooms were perfect for our conference. The location is perfect, backing up to the riverwalk and easy access via their elevator/rear walkway. You won't miss out on nightlife as it's in the middle of it all. read more

This hotel is in a great location on the riverwalk. The hotel is very nice looking and has very great design. We did have a few issues, however. First, the A/C didn't work throughout our stay. We reported the issue twice and their proposed solution, besides changing rooms was to provide us blankets. Having to move would have been a bit distracting and time consuming. Then during breakfast during our last day, a cockroach fell from the top of the window to the floor, next to our table. One of the managers came to apologize and offered to comp our meal, but someone in our group had paid the meals and left. During one of the times we were away after housekeeping came by, we noticed the toilet paper was wet and on the holder. read more

We held our Nursery summit here for 2023. I will say the venue was perfect! The people outstanding! And everything went extremely well! Accept the cold. This hotel has a huge open main area that goes from the ground up. While we were here they had weather that was in the freezing range and blowing winds... it was miserable. Highly unusual for San Antonio. The hotel just couldn't keep the place heated. Rooms, both meeting and sleeping were good, but the common areas were very cold! This was an extreme weather even though and could not be avoided. My room was fantastic, the view nice the restaurant had great food for all meals, the food they served the 150 people at our meetings might have been some of the best at an even I have ever had, and again the people helping us from the venue were phenomenal at every level! I'm not sure how this all could have gone off any better... barring a change in the weather. read more

Company put me up in this hotel while in town for a conference. Very nice hotel and very convenient to just about everything on the river walk. It is, in fact, on the river walk, which I'll try to review separately. Bottom line, you can walk out of your hotel and check out all the river walk has to offer, or go out the main entrance and check out the rest of downtown. I'll start with the room itself. I'm statused with Hyatt, so I was able to get a nice upgrade to a high floor and some other perks. The room itself is nicely laid out. Entryway has an "open" closet setup (basically a shelf with a bar and hangers). There's a coffeemaker, fridge, and microwave right near it. The bathroom is nice and modern-looking. Mirror has a digital clock integrated into it. Only problem is the clock had the wrong time, although it wasn't enough of an issue to call down and fix it. The shower had an overhead and removable sprayer. That was also nice but the water took a WHILE to heat up. And the pressure could have been better. Beds were super comfortable. Liked the outlet setup around the bedpost. Nice big wall-mounted TV. Decent little table and chair near the window, and the view wasn't too bad. Also a small desk which was enough to a little after-hours work on. The building had a very interesting layout. Lobby was very nice and spacious. Bar looked classy but passed on it. There's also a restaurant on the river walk. The really neat thing is there's a little water channel that runs through the actual building. Staff was friendly and attentive when I spoke with them. The phone number routes you to an automated assistant which SUCKS. But once you got to an actual human being it was fine. Front desk and bag check was great. Parking is SUPER expensive per night, just be aware whether you self-park or do valet. Also, there's a charge for printing out papers and such - they have a little FedEx office on the second floor. All in all, worth a stay if you're looking for an option on the Riverwalk or just in downtown San Antonio in general. read more

Great hotel location with the best access to the Riverwalk. The parking is really expensive. There was a parking garage a block away that offered over night parking for under 30. Where the Hyatt charged over 60 for valet parking per night. The rooftop pool was great! The food and drink options were okay but definitely priced high for what it was. The front desk staff was really helpful since I was not able to check in since their system was down. I was able to work from the lobby with no problems and they offered a complimentary breakfast since their system was down which was a nice offering. I would stay here again. read more

Stayed several days here during a conference.for work. I enjoyed rooms, spacious, clean and contemporary. The hotel architectural design is eclectic and forward thinking. Roof top pool, MKT Place and right next to the River Walk. The restaurant serves a variety of entrees that were very good. The service is top notch, from the check in, food, housekeeping, meeting room staff and bartenders. I had an all around great experience during my stay. Bravo read more

8/10 experience...stay here back in May of 2023 right after graduation college to celebrate. The location is the best for the riverwalk. However I prefer to stay at the grand Hyatt! Can't wait to go back to stay here for fiesta this year! read more

The location is a 100/10, Walking distance to everything downtown from the Alamo, the Tower of the Americas and all of the restaurants, bars, shops and breweries you could need. We arrived in town around 11 pm and checked in virtually. Upon arriving to the room, the digital key did not work. It forced us to take the long walk back downstairs to get physical keys. My husband attempted to purchase a bag of chips or other basic snack but learned that the little market next to the front desk was closed after a certain hour. We were shocked to find that there were no snack options available 24 hours. Not even a vending machine. Each floor vending area only had a drink machine. Other than an Ihop, Denny's and Whataburger (45 minute wait for food) several blocks away, there was not even a spot to grab a simple bag of chips or candy bar. I don't recall ever going to a hotel that doesn't have SOMETHING. We parked our rental car at the garage directly across the street. Super convenient but it was not cheap. You can add parking to your hotel bill and use your room key to come and go as you please. Plenty of spots available. The room was clean. The bed was not that comfortable. I typically have no issues sleeping anywhere but didn't sleep super great during our three night stay. There was daily room service which was nice to have fresh towels delivered each day. I paid for a river view and we were assigned the 10th floor. The view was not what I was expecting and wished I had opted for the Alamo view. The restaurant on location was great and we visited it one time. The lobby when coming and going from the Riverwalk was pretty cool. Great location! Just a 3 minute walk to The Alamo, and the Riverwalk is connected to the hotel on the other side. I love that the hotel was very modern in appearance, including the rooms. There is self-parking in the garage across the street, or a valet parking option available. There are restaurants and bars and shops in the complex in the lobby level and Riverwalk level. We really loved the convenience of this hotel. The texting feature at this hotel made things pretty convenient for when we needed things. At checkout, I was told that I had no charges for my stay booked on points, but I received a bill a few hours later with some incorrect charges. Aside from this one issue, everything else during our stay was great, and the staff quickly helped resolve this issue as well. read more
