I wanted something different than the usual airport hotel scene, so I booked a room at the Hyatt Regency Schaumburg. I was thrilled to find a calm oasis away from travel chaos. I am very glad I did so because even though it is 15minutes from the airport, the experience was refreshing. The hotel itself is in a nice area of Chicago suburbs with a variety of restaurants and shops adjacent to the property. The staff is super welcoming and got me a room immediately. The rooms are nice and I had no issues at all. In fact, I loved my room, the comfortable beds, the amazing bathtub and the variety of stations on the TV including Starz and Encore. The gym and pool are a treat as well. I loved the free‑weights and the clear layout of the fitness area. There are a couple places on site to get food, drinks and snacks. The Hyatt Regency Schaumburg is definitely a great hotel with a lot of thoughtful amenities and charm.

Yet another worn corner on the night stand.

Considering it was a Hyatt Regency, I was expecting a higher-end well-groomed room. The name evokes a certain level of elegance. It was a small, very generic room with furniture that had seen its better days. The bathroom was one if the smallest major chain hotel bathrooms ever. The door barely cleared the toilet and had to be fully closed to access the tub/shower. Water pressure was terrible and the Hot-Cold-Off markings were completely opposite. I've stayed at much classier hotels for less money. Two bright spots - the room was quiet and the bed was very comfy. Four stars for the bed.

The good: it's a convenient location near the mall with 2 restaurants nearby and lots of parking. The staff are also friendly and helpful. The lobby is beautiful and the bar convenient. The free breakfast is pretty good with a decent selection of eggs, meat, fruit, baked goods, oatmeal. The bad: the bathrooms are small and outdated with terrible grout. The hotel is renovating right near where guests are staying and we saw tarps and heard noise at 7 in the morning. The pool is underwhelming and small indoors. The outdoor pool was closed for no reason.

Couldn't ask for a better spot to stay. Everything you could want is walking distance away. Raul and the rest of the staff make sure all your needs are taken care of. Rooms are very comfortable. Indoor pool isn't heated but great length for swimming laps.

Now this hotel is what I would call equivalent to a interstate motel where they are too afraid to put furniture in the rooms because people might steal it! So my room was bare minimum of anything the door has a huge gaps all around it letting in lots of light and it's paper thin I'm in my room chillin and I can hear someone's cell phone in another room going beep da beep beep I can hear people walking through the hallway and not even talking as well as a baby crying in another room! Super poor quality and very noisy like really I've had better rooms at interstate motels for half the price where it's wayy more peaceful than this! It also seems as if the room has pipes going through it as u can hear running water from other rooms constantly making for more of an annoying time! The bed here was also hard as a rock I would have slept better in my car than being in here as it was that bad! The room was also dirty and I found that it was especially not cared for as they couldn't even clean the stains off from around the QR code on the table so I cleaned it off and took a before and after photo! The ceiling is also missing some of it as if it had caved in on itself at one point like this room was really bad for what they are trying to charge for it had it not been so late at night I would have left asked for a refund and booked at somewhere else because I've never heard others this much while being in a room I mean some noise is expected but this is just beyond that and there clearly isn't a party crowd here it's just others living as they would day to day! Overall this is really sad that this place is that cheaply built so don't stay here unless you want a skimpy room where the walls are paper thin so much so that it feels like you have no privacy, I've been in hotel rooms doing Urbex that have character than this!

good spot to stay. what youd expect from hyatt. good service and rooms. The location had plenty of parking. the rooms were comfy.

The staff was pretty accommodating. The lobby and common areas are ok. The furniture in the room needs updating but it's sufficient. We got a good deal so won't complain too much but if you are paying over $200, then it's not worth it. The bathroom is super tight. The hot water faucet is not working properly. It only out out a little bit of water. The cold water is fine. The junior suite did not have a pull out couch but it was large enough for my kid. The place has lots of room and is very large. TV has limited channels. Has a mini fridge in room and the microwave is out in the hallway. There is only 1 microwave in the hallway. Still the upkeep was pretty decent.

I stayed at this hotel on my last business trip to Chicago. The outside and lobby is very clean and spacious. My hotel was on the third floor. My first thought when I walked in was the entrance hallway is really big. The whole layout of the room seemed off to me. There is so much room by the door, but the bathroom seemed crammed. The desk wasn't that large either. It barely fit my second monitor. The closet was near the bed and the mini fridge was in the closet? The bathroom looked filthy, not as clean as other hyatts. I am not sure if it's just because it's old but it did not look clean. Also, the walls are very thin, I can hear everyone that walks by. I also had an issue with both phones in my room. It didn't have the dial tone. I eventually got the phone by my bed to work but I had to move it around and not move, otherwise I would lose connection. I was trying to call room service. After I ordered room service, the food came up pretty quickly. I got the chicken pesto panini. It wasn't bad, and it came with a ton of fries. 1 star for the service/staff 1 star for the food

Moldy disgusting shower.

Make sure you know how to reboot a WIFI. And, ask about the A/C which must be on some sort of preprogrammed setting. I had wanted to stay in a hotel, but my wife thought this would be more "homey" and see was right, it was a great decision. The only downside to us was that the toaster seemed to be hard-wired to the smoke alarm, but once we figured out to turn the exhaust fan one before we did any cooking all was well.

Parthenon is a hostel so it's not a fancy place but it's also not a dump like others that have bad horror stories and things. Cheap rates and plenty of entertainment and transportation is close. The Biddle House is walking distance to many restaurants, shops, Lincoln Park, Chicago History Museum and the lakefront etc. We walked to a local shop to buy groceries to make breakfast for the week since pots, pans etc was provided. We got to feel as if we lived in a Chicago neighborhood. We did however kept wondering why people always stopped in front on the house, especially when a group of tourists came and starred at us while we ate breakfast (we had blinds open), it turns out The Biddle House is a historic house owned by Joseph O'Connell a telephone pioneer. We then appreciated the house more and didn't mind the other tourists since we were tourists ourselves. There are 2 units available at the Biddle House. We stayed on the 1st floor which had two bedrooms, one bathroom, a kitchen, dining room and living room with a pull out couch. We loved the AC units and fans thorough out the place, the beds were squeaky but after coming back so tired, once we fell asleep, it didn't matter. We loved that we were able to do our laundry down the basement but wished there were clean ones provided if we needed more instead of washing our own. My daughters and I were coming for a girl's weekend trip to visit my daughter at Loyola. Upon arrival at midnight after a long day/night of travel, we were given the wrong access code and we were not able to enter our room. There was no help accessible - ghost run hotel. We called the "after hours" ghost staff and the proper access code was given, phew, finally able to relax... Getting ready for bed, we noticed that the hand towels in the bathroom were dirty with blood and makeup. Even though the Flats is expensive, I kept telling myself not to be so hard on this student run organization, cut them a break. Once we were all settled in for the night and tucked into bed, that's when I heard the scream from my daughter's bedroom, "THERE ARE BED BUGS IN MY BED!!" (See attached photo). Bed bugs of all sizes were clearly at home in the mattress and on the sheets. The bed bugs were so large they were visible on my daughter's pillow when standing at the doorway of the bedroom (approx.10 feet away). Once again, contacted the ghost staff. A friendly young man arrived (from where, I have no idea) to assess the situation and offered us another room at Loyola Flats. Ummmmmmm, NO! If bed bugs are in one room, they are more than likely in many. We packed up our belongings and left the 'hotel' in search of another place to stay. Super fun at 1 AM and not knowing if we were even carrying bed bugs to the next hotel. It was an incredibly traumatic experience finding the bed bugs at Loyola Flats and it was hard having any peace of mind at another hotel after that. Upon my request, the president of the Flats (a student) called me on Monday and offered to credit the money I already paid to stay at Loyola Flats and also to reimburse me for my stay at another hotel for basically ruining our weekend. It took over a week and one reminder call from me for them to credit back the money I already paid them. After I submitted my invoice to them from the other hotel we stayed at, I was told that I would be required to fill out a W-9 form to receive any reimbursement. Wait what??!! They want me to supply them with my social security number and fill out a tax form? I let them know I had no intention of doing that and they responded with, "It's the policy of Loyola's Accounts Payable Department." When I asked them for the contact info from someone in that department, I received no response. Obviously, I'm not going to see any reimbursement from them. If you like paying a high price for a hotel that's dirty, has bed bugs, and horrible customer service, then by all means Loyola Flats is the place for you.

We used to live in Schaumburg, so we know the area well, and choose this side of town for many reasons. The outside was well lit with plenty of parking and hotel is conveniently located near 290 and 90. You're also within 5 mins of a Target, in case you need travel staples, as well as the Streets of Woodfield if you want an outdoor mall experience. Our fav breakfast place, Maxfield's is less than 10mins away and across the street from our fav parks. Back to the hotel: Staff were courteous and accommodating, fast and easy check in process. There is seating downstairs if you want a spot to chat or have coffee with friends. There is a restaurant/bar inside the hotel; breakfast available for $. We didn't stay for breakfast, but food we saw folks eating looked ok. I liked that this location also has a little shop in case you want some pop or junk food and don't feel like running out! The room is where I took a star off; things we noticed: bed was too lumpy (we're used to hotel beds being on firmer side) and the carpet had a stain in front of fridge (we guessed it was most likely due to the fridge being over cold--the fridge exploded one of our pops, thankfully just inside the fridge). Neither of these things would prevent us from staying again, just things we noticed.

First irritation: when I arrived at the breakfast area at 6:30 am, I noticed that every table had…read morecoffee mugs and utensils. Well, I went and got the typical scrambled eggs, turkey sausage, and a bandanna. While this location offers the same breakfast items as the Hampton Inn and Embassy Suites, at this Garden Inn location, you have to pay $16.80. They had a man go around filling your coffee mug and getting your food, but again, it's the standard free breakfast items you'd find at other Hilton chains, which explains why we met up and got the items ourselves. Needless to say, the next morning, I went to a local place for breakfast and paid less than $10.00. Next, I checked in late Monday and went to Jewel Osco for work items: a case of water and snacks to keep my team focused and uplifted. Well, after returning, I found out that a water main had broken, flooding some lower-level rooms, and that the fire marshal had shut down the elevators. The manager got two staff members to help me with my grocery bags since I was on the third floor. He told me that he could book me into another hotel. Still, if anyone knows anything about the Chicagoland area, the bedbug capital of the US, it is Chicago, followed by Cleveland and Detroit. So, no, without researching, I'm not moving to another hotel. Besides, has anyone read my Embassy Suites review that mentioned black mold being painted over? By Wednesday, the elevator still wasn't working when I checked out. It was a pain bringing down my hug roller bags, computer bag, and tools, but at least I'm not bringing critters with me. The final issue was that the showerhead in the bathroom was pointed directly at the toilet, so the entire floor got soaked and became a slip hazard. Someone obviously didn't think that through! But wait, one more issue, the reading lamp didn't work; that was close to my bed. On a good note, the staff were friendly, and the hotel was clean, so three out of five stars.
