I would not recommend this company under any circumstances. Alex, the owner failed to show up for an appointment. He did not contact me beforehand, nor did he respond to texts I sent asking whether he was still coming. I finally received a text from him after I posted on a neighborhood Facebook page that he had ghosted me. In his text, Alex sent me a photo of a living room that had been severely damaged by a fallen tree. He represented the photo as a current image of his own living room and said he had been rescuing his children, taking them to the hospital and dealing with water damage that created a risk of electrocution. He ended the text by writing: "Yes that's more important than ur fridge." The problem is that this photo actually appears in a news article about a Canton resident whose home was damaged during a severe storm in 2020. Missing an appointment is one thing. Failing to communicate is another. But sending someone a photo that appears to have been taken from a years-old news story in order to explain a missed appointment raises much more serious concerns about credibility and professionalism. read more

Worth the Call!! They are very Knowledgeable, really Quick, totally Reasonable & super Friendly! I would for sure recommend Hyde Park Appliance Repair if you need any kind of appliance needing any kind of fixing or repair! This is the second time they've serviced appliances in my home. Today they repaired my just about dead "garbage disposal"! The serviceman Al repaired my run-down garbage disposal in a total of not even fifteen minutes!! And now it works perfectly. I couldn't believe how quick he fixed it! Especially, after so many times we worked on trying to unjam it ourselves...and, he always ensures you operate your appliance before he leaves to ensure it's operating correctly. No-showed the first appointment. Came the next day, claimed I needed a new part for my oven. Paid him $415. My washing machine also had a small leak, so he said he could fix that for $60, but would do that the next time he came. A month later, he comes with the oven part. The oven works briefly, then booms and sparks (and I call 911 because he had told me I was lucky I wasn't dead with the way the oven was installed). He also "fixed" the washer, but when we washed clothes on cold, they came out hot, so he had to come back for that. Also charged me 3x the quoted price for the washer. Alex comes back several days later to fix the oven AGAIN, and two minutes after he leaves, the oven malfunctions. Finally he comes back to tell me he needs a new oven, and he will reimburse me the money I paid him. That was two weeks ago and I have yet to see that check. He was also incredibly rude and condescending to me. He kept asking me who the "landlord" was for the condo that I own. I am the landlord! Why else would I be the one calling him? I have lost money from the experience. I paid him upfront to fix my washing machine, he didnt have what he needed 1st time, and never returned to finish the job. Kept my money thought. I called and texted never heard from him. I asked for partial refund, via text and he just LOL. and refused. Wow. This guy is so unprofessional. I contracted him to go and fix an oven in one of my tenants apartment and he committed to a time and he did not show up. I specifically informed him that my tenant had a short window for when she was going to be home and also informed him to make sure to communicate with me if he was going to be able to make it in time and his response was that he is never late. If I could give a lower rating I would. Steer clear of this man, he is one of the most unprofessional people I have ever dealt with in my life. He doesn't show when he says he will, he doesn't call to tell you he isn't coming so you take time off of work only to be stood up. He doesn't bother to return texts or calls. He originally misdiagnosed the problem, (that happens) but when it came to ordering parts, he told me (the first time) that it would be $200 for the parts and would take a month to come in. I asked him if there was another place he could get them from (because I could not wait a month) he said "no, this is where EVERYONE gets them from." I thought that was a bit crazy, but with Covid who knows. I figured it wouldn't hurt to call around and try to see if someone had them in stock. I picked a random place and called, imagine my surprise when the first place I called could get them in in three days AND for $58 instead of $200. (I even gave him the benefit of the doubt on his excuse for that.) Well he put that part in, then left (without even testing it) while I was on the phone. I tried it and it was doing the exact same thing as before. He then told me that I then needed another part, because it was something else, he called "his place" and he told me it would A MONTH (again) for the part to come in. Well I then called the same place I called the last time and sure enough it would be in within the week. That was almost three weeks ago. After a week of texting him he finally responded and set up a time to come put it in, he didn't show up, he didn't even text or call and I have not heard from him since. (That was almost two weeks ago.) I even reached out to him on his FB page, people commented and yet he STILL didn't respond. I did notice that during this whole time he had posted "helpful hints" on his FB page, funny how he can do that, but not take two seconds to respond to his customers. So now I'm into this man for approx $250 (parts and labor) and have to start over. It just blows my mind that someone could be so ignorant as to not even respond to someone. I cannot say enough about Alex from Hyde Park Appliance. I found him to be courteous, knowledgeable, professional and reasonable. I asked him to come out and look at my gas stove which was not keeping temperature. He told me that it may need a new control board and that the expense may not be worth it. He changed some settings and now - even though it may be temporary - my stove is working fine. He also spent some extra time and gave me some great advice about some other appliances.
