    The special was delicious!

Enjoyed a great meal here last night. My wife and I both ordered the special, sausage and broccoli rabe over house-made fettuccine. Better quality sausage than you might expect and the pasta was delicious. Dessert of warm chocolate cake and banana cream pie rounded things off nicely. The decor is understated elegance, the service excellent (bar was a bit slow). Overall a place we would return to.

Front: Hazelnut gelato, with biscotti crumbs on the bottom and biscotti chunks on the top, topped with whipped cream

Great Italian food - especially their Bolognese and Chicken Fiorentino! Great staff, especially Katie! Always a great meal and atmosphere.

Food sucked. The pasta was over cooked. You could have used a straw instead of a fork to eat the pasta Service was ok. No real ambiance.

Good Italian, home made pasta, Ravioli, bread, Sauce, etc.. a little pricey and they do not take credit cards.

They do not have enough staff to properly accommodate diners. This causes outrageous waiting times. Would not return.

Food was amazing! Pizza is much better than the local pizzerias in town and cheaper! Homemade pasta is a great sell too.

Ciao Bella -- A Special Occasion Worth the Occasion…read more We came for our wedding anniversary, arriving early on a Friday around 5pm. Ciao Bella is New Paltz's upscale Italian, and at that hour the restaurant was quiet and sun-drenched, light streaming through generous windows into a space that manages to feel both airy and elegant. I imagine it transforms into something darker and more intimate as evening settles in, but the brightness suited us just fine. Service was attentive and friendly throughout. No complaints, just not the kind of thing you leave talking about. The food, though, is worth talking about. A smoked salmon burrata appetizer was a genuinely lovely combination, and the golden beet salad was bright and well-composed. Entrees showed real care, seasoned and portioned thoughtfully rather than the aggressive abundance that passes for generosity at lesser places. The pistachio ricotta cake for dessert was the highlight: creative, not too sweet, and exactly the right size to split. Good value for what it is. Ciao Bella is the right answer for a special dinner in New Paltz, elevated without being stiff about it. Not an everyday spot, but exactly the right one when the occasion calls for it.

The food was ah-mazing! Every dish on the table was spectacular. Waitstaff was attentive and knowledgeable. Music was at the perfect volume, just enough to hear without interfering with conversation. Meal wasn't as pricey as some of the other places we tried on this trip to New Paltz, definitely worth the money.

ALERT: NO MORE $3 MARTINIS!!!!!!…read more So I definitely was one of the people who let the cat out of the bag on this one! I hate gate keeping and I know myself, my husband, and many of my friends supported this place. I mean seriously $3 martini night was something that made this place a gem but without it I honestly don't see us coming back! This place truly has sooooo much potential. I wish I could help them with some ideas to really make this restaurant the spot to be. I can tell you now though charging $19 for a martini is not it!! Also I tried their new banana bread martini and it wasn't great. Which makes it worst that it's so much more money. I mean I am truly a nobody but I have a list of ideas for them if they ever want to know because this place truly has great bones. Here's one for free. On one of your lowest sale nights I'm assuming Thursday because that's when you had your $3 special, why not offer girl dinner? A $25 special that includes two basic flavored martinis and French fries. For $30 include two Caesar or house salads. I gaurantee people with order that. And you can't tell me you are getting hit too hard for food cost for salad and fries? But also you gotta change your decor up a bit. Look at the surrounding restaurants that are charging that much for a martini and the vibe of the place. If I'm going to spend bougie money I want to feel like I'm in a bougie spot!

She she knew the menu, paid attention to detail, and was checking on us every 10 minutes. Will absolutely will bring back friends and guests.

I felt bad for the waiters…read more My parents and I chose to eat here since it has an outdoor seating area and we were hungry for big meals. It was around 3pm and not crowded. We received water. 15 minutes went by: we saw the waitress scrambling to bring out drinks, bread and food for tables while the waiter was also bartending inside and outside. They must be understaffed because these two employees were doing absolutely everything they could to keep this place afloat, I felt bad for them. So did other guests because one woman (in frustration of not getting her check) began to help bus and clean tables. We asked both waiters for bread. 15 minutes later, another waitress arrives at the restaurant to help, we ask her for bread. We waited around 30 minutes just for bread. Our appetizer (each got lobster bisque) was delicious. Other parties were so annoyed at the service, one table send someone to go over to Water Street and brought back hot dogs!!! Multiple new customers arrived, saw the poor service and left. Our entrees were great! We agreed that the chef was awesome, but no one wants to spend 3 hours of their afternoon at a restaurant!

I am solely reviewing the wine bar aspect of The Station and not the food (ie, I can't report if…read morethey can make things vegan and delicious). We ducked into here at the start of a huge storm after throwing one back at the Parish across the street. What a lovely respite! It was a quiet night and we sat at the bar. There was a good selection of wines by the glass and trust me, I indulged enthusiastically. We had good conversation with the lovely bartender, the owner and one of the waiters. Everyone was so nice, gave us a lot of insight to the area as well, cuz we're not from 'round these parts (but will be moving not so far away in the near future). There is a covered patio area lit with fairy lights and tiki torches that positively beckoned to us, but that damn weather... that said we found inside, back by the bar is equally inviting. It also bears mentioning that New Paltz (understandably) has an array of college student-oriented establishments and The Station definitely appeals to an older demographic (read: parents of college students, professors, travelers) which is a plus for anyone also looking for a great date night spot.
