Sometimes I have to cover my food so the flies do not land on it. The food is priced a little too high. This morning, I got there 1/2 hour after they opened. My salt container was completely empty. I saw another man at the table next to me get up and take the salt container from another table. These people have been in business for years, and should know the basics. If I was running a restaurant, I would check the tables before we opened, and place a full salt container next to an empty one! Why is that so difficult? read more

First time visiting Hydeout Cafe with a dear friend. The staff was kind and courteous. The food was also good. My only suggestion is to not cook the pancakes so hard. We were looking for breakfast and this place came up in a search, so we decided to give it a try. The Greek Skillet was great, and my wife enjoyed her omelet. Service was excellent, and our food arrived quickly. Then we ordered pancakes, banana Nutella crepes, and a strawberry waffle to go. OK, we have been here four times. Three for breakfast and once for lunch. Each visit was consistently good. The place is still relatively new but they do a wonderful job. It is family owned and they are always on site to oversee the quality. It is very clean and the service is excellent. Best of all, the food is wonderful. Had an appointment nearby and I don't usually find myself on this part of town, so thought I would stop in and check it out for lunch yesterday. It wasn't very crowded, but had about 10 of its 25 or so tables full. Service was attentive and timely and the food was very tasty. Not much to the presentation, though not sure what you could do to make sunny side up eggs and sausage snazzy. The dish also came with 2 pancakes and grits (there were other options too like fruit and toast) so it was a good value for under $10. I would suggest a bigger plate for the side of pancakes and perhaps a little more art on the walls for decor, but I would certainly go back the next time I am in the area. read more

Me and the wife decided to try this out. We were looking for a new spot to mix things up from our usual. I got the Cajun skillet and wife got the Mexican Skillet. Both were delicious, pancakes were real "cakey" soft, warm, moist. Also the coffee was the best coffee I've had in years. I guess the best way to describe it was like it tasted like alakaline water smooth. Luckily it wasn't a long line when we got there and was seated immediately. The food was so good I decided to order the Cajun Skillet again to go. This is one of the spots that's so good that you really don't want to tell people about because you don't want it to get too congested. This was our 4th And final breakfast/ brunch date for the month of February. Let's just say, we saved the best for last. We were seated immediately. Our server came right over to see if we would like coffee. It was hot, strong and delicious. Another server came with water. We were given enough time to look over the menu without feeling rushed or forgotten. I had the chicken fried steak breakfast, with scrambled eggs, grits and pancakes. My hubby had the country breakfast consisting of scrambled eggs, biscuits and gravy and hash browns. He also ordered a side of bacon. Everything was delicious. The portions are large, so go hungry and prepare to get a to go box. We enjoyed conversation and people watching. There was music playing, but not loud enough to interrupt conversation. Good solid food place but the service was lackluster. The waitress got one order wrong and then we waited about 10 minutes to get a replacement. The bill was wrong by $2 and the manager was adamant about charging the extra $2 even though it was the waitress mistake. All in all, they know how to make good skillets but they have no idea about putting the customer first. read more

I've come here 2 times the first time there was a hair on my food. The second time there was a bug I'm guessing from the lettuce and a hair on my fries and on both of my visits I've noticed lots of small bugs all over the place.
