This is our first visit here and we are so pleased. From the smiling host that seated us as soon as we walked in to the attentive wait who checked on us regularly everything here was top notch. We expected a wait on a Sunday morning but the efficient crew here was moving people through without making us feel rushed. It's an open, bright space that is clean and we'll decorated. A friend suggested that I try this family owned restaurant, so we did after church; well they didn't disappoint us. Food was good and friendly staff. I love to support independent eateries verses a chain. This is a hike to get to from my house. I live by Costco, but I had seen lots of positive reviews so I wanted to check it out. It's decorated very modern for a cafe. They are building a patio, that looks like a great place to eat on nice days. The hostess and servers were friendly and attentive. The food came out quickly. I had the country breakfast. The eggs were cooked perfectly over easy. The biscuits and sausage gravy taste just like mine! The hash browns were crisp. Hubby had the meat lovers omelette. My first visit and my last. I ordered the classic breakfast and chose the biscuits for my bread option. Plural biscuits. Two or more is what I expected. Instead I was brought toast, not a huge problem, but restated that I ordered the biscuits, not the toast. And at this point I also asked for some gravy to go with my biscuits. Waiter brought one biscuit sliced in half, with the requested gravy. I knew I would pay extra for the gravy. The one small biscuit cut in half required the use of less than half the gravy. Later I asked for another biscuit, thinking maybe I was originally only brought one by mistake. Waiter didn't say anything about an extra fee. Keep in mind the entire breakfast (eggs, bacon, hash browns, biscuits) was $10.99. When I received my bill there was an additional fee of $3.50 for a biscuit. When I checked out and the cashier asked me if everything was okay, I pointed to and questioned the cashier about the wording on the menu "biscuits" and I was told that by virtue of the biscuit being cut in half it therefore became two biscuits, plural. A quick response, that seemed rehearsed, as if it had been used plenty of times prior to my visit. I was told I could complain to the owner and that it wasn't the cashier's decision on what to charge. Then why bother asking me if everything is okay? Why charge a customer $3.50 for a small biscuit? Especially when the menu clearly states biscuits, plural? And furthermore, when the entire menu item/meal is $10.99, why charge your customer $3.50 to add a biscuit? I had no issue paying $2.50 to add gravy, and I will say it was a generous portion and had a good flavor. I expected a charge for it. There are so many other choices for eating out, and I will definitely choose another place. The food was very average, not bad, not excellent. Went for a late breakfast today. Ordered the classic eggs, ham, hash browns and biscuits. I've been here several times and the biscuits were really good and I believe I got two. Today there was one biscuit that had been split and "grilled". It was awful. Had a strong taste of old grease. Before we left I asked the waitress what happened to the biscuit. She said it was "grilled". I told her it was not good. It tasted like the grill hadn't been cleaned in a while. Hash browns had the same taste and I had indigestion before I even left. We came at 9am on a Sunday. Initially I really liked the quietness of the cafe but then the Sunday crowd came in and the place echos like no other. It's like being in a cafeteria. If it was me I'd put up some curtains or something fabric on the walls to absorb some of that sound. The food was good I got the biscuits and gravy. My friend got the banana Nutella crepe which was pretty good too. My other friend got a hash and a pancake and fruit but the server cut her off right after her initial item and was taking her menu before she could say her full order. The server seemed like she didn't want to be there and wasn't very accommodating. She also didn't tell us we could pay at the front after giving us our checks. So we were waiting for her to come get our checks as this other large group was staring us down waiting for our table to clear so they could be seated. They may want to get a bench or something for the front so people waiting have somewhere to sit. Also, maybe a bench outside as well. Maybe some sort of barrier like a plant wall could be good to keep the waiting area separate. read more

I would grate the orange and lemon peel, for a zest to add to the batter, which allowed me to get the first serving. Until now, I have never found anyone who prepared crepes as wonderful, as those prepared by my father. Hydeout Cafe is a family owned restaurant, where the father is the Chef. He prepares the meals that are so very tasty and delightful. There is personal pride in his creations and they are just perfect each time. From the patriarch to his children and their spouses, everyone is friendly, polite and making sure that every meal is just what you want. They are a wonderful example of a family that has come to this country and worked hard to create a successful business. I saw another man at the table next to me get up and take the salt container from another table. These people have been in business for years, and should know the basics.
