Consistently great service. I've had them clean carpets 4+ times, and regardless of whether Bjorn or Hunter does the job, the carpets are restored to like-new condition. Hydra Clean NW is prompt, thorough, professional and reasonably priced. The best part is that it is a soap-free cleaning process. Natural fruit enzymes are used to pretreat stains, followed by a high pressure vacuum that uses very hot water. Really bad experience with both the cleaning and the customer service afterwards. They came to clean carpets on our stairs, hallway, and bedrooms. After they completed we were left with heavy indented streaks, crunchy matted carpets, and remaining marker stains that were not removed. Also, it took a full 24 hours before the carpets dried and that is with temperatures being over 80 degrees outside with all our windows open the entire time. We work with contractors enough to know that everyone has bad days. However the follow up I received was extremely poor. The first response from the pictures I sent, was that he thought the streaks were "odd", he then tried to pin it on a previous cleaner and asked if I had them cleaned before. My answer was that they had not been cleaned before as they were 3 years old. Then when I responded with concern about him coming back out and creating additional damage or wear on the carpet, he then shot back that there was no damage and that it just needed to be flushed again. Well we had him come by while we still have some small areas with streaks, at least it isn't entire bedrooms. so I sent him a follow up email to see what caused the streaks, and now his response is that it's completely normal..... so normal, that you thought it was odd when I first presented the issue to you? Conclusion, they have a "guarantee" on their website that you will have to fight them to hold up. And their pricing is misleading as it says they can get everything out minus urine stains and obvious heavy staining. Per the tech, you are allotted a certain amount of time and they will only clean stains until they have reached that time. After that they will charge you more with no guarantee they can get it out. If you have anything more than light dirt stains don't count on it. Children's markers can't be removed by their equipment. With so many carpet cleaners you shouldn't have to deal with the disappointment or bad service. Go elsewhere where they appreciate your business. read more

Great experience with Hydra Clean NW. They worked around my schedule, but more important, they cleaned my carpet that was really awful. When Sean left, it looked like new. He warned me that with a very deep clean, stains can "come up" as the carpet dries, and I did notice that (especially that cup of coffee from a few years ago). I found this company through Angie's list and used a coupon for services. I had to adjust the cost because I wanted to add stairwells and area carpets. The cost was very reasonable. My carpets are 13 years old and these guys made them look brand new. They look fantastic. Previous experience with other companies did not produce such good results. Hunter was exceptionally professional, courteous, and responsive to phone calls. He was able to get stains out of the high traffic areas, including carpeted stairwells, that a previous "well advertised" Seattle company said were permanent. Hunter came out and cleaned our basement carpets. There was a bit of mix up in appointment time but he fit me in same day and stayed late to complete rugs. He did 2 sofas and about 600 sq ft carpet for about $250. Impressed by amount of time he spent on the job..3+ hours straight. Hunter came and cleaned all of our carpets in preparation for our home sale and we couldn't be more pleased. When I saw the before and after I was totally shocked. I was originally thinking that we would have to replace all of the carpet in our home prior to selling it. Mind you, we have a dog and a teenager and after 14 years of wear and tear there were stains and other things that we tried to get out with our own steam cleaner. From beginning to end the process was easy to set up and the work was performed flawlessly. Hunter laid down cloth runners to protect our hardwood floors which we also had recently redone. We loved that they even accomplished this miracle cleaning without the use of harsh chemicals. In fact, they were able to dump the water on our lawn after they were done. HydraClean was one of a few cleaning places recommended on our neighborhood Facebook page. I contacted all of them, and these guys were the most prompt in communicating back with me. I'm not really a phone person, so I liked that there was an option to submit requests on their website, and Bjorn was also really communicative through e-mail and even text message. Bjorn and Hunter were only a couple of minutes late but had called to let me know, which I really appreciated, and they were both so friendly and easy to work with. The best part, though, is that the price was insanely reasonable, and almost exactly what Bjorn had quoted to me ahead of time (the total, with tax, was three dollars below the estimate). We had all of the carpets cleaned in our 3-story town house, and I was SO excited when I got home and saw how nice they looked (and smelled!). They took the time to carefully move my long dresses out of the way in the closet, adjust our drapes, and put our daughter's glider chair on little foam blocks - little touches to protect our belongings and keep the carpet looking nice! We had been waffling over getting the carpets replaced entirely, but the cleaning job refreshed them so that they really look new, and I feel really confident in our decision not to spend the time and hassle of replacing the carpet. Hunter was able to accommodate our tight schedule, arrived on time, was VERY pleasant to work with, and worked three hours non-stop to clean our carpets. Spots have disappeared and the carpets look better than they have in years! We were very impressed with the high-tech cleaning and extraction processes. They use only environmentally safe products for cleaning. The extraction process was so effective that our carpets were dry in about 3 hours. I had seen HydraClean's Ad on 15th Ave right before getting onto the Ballard Bridge. $115 for carpet cleaning for any size home! I was moving out of my townhouse, so I needed to find someone who could deep clean my carpets. He did an amazing job! He got all the stains out and the carpet looks better than new. I called many companies to decide who to hire for my carpets and read many reviews. Bjorn seemed to be honest and trustworthy from the reviews I read and from talking to him. He offered me the same deal he had advertised on Angie's List when he quoted me over the phone. When he came out,, I was a little surprised by the unmarked white van given the website pictures of a marked van, and I was surprised that he walked into the house without putting booties or something on his shoes. I figured since he was cleaning the carpet, I wouldn't worry too much (we are a shoeless home), but it struck me as odd. He then proceeded to clean. He did not vacuum the carpets despite his website stating that the normal process includes vacuuming. Thank goodness I had done a preliminary vacuum. I looked up the specifics on the Angie's list deal and light furniture moving was included. We had emptied almost all furniture out of the rooms to be cleaned, so the only furniture that needed to be moved was a lightweight crib on wheels. I don't know if he moved the crib or not, but given the fact that there were a few pieces of trash on the floor under the crib I think he neglected under the crib. He did get some of the stains out of the carpet. Others were made worse. Angie's list also states he would use a rotary extraction, he did not. If the carpet was not a good candidate for rotary extraction, he also did not communicate that. When he was finished with the stairs, there was a puddle on the floor by the front door which I had to dry and the stairs were sopping wet. I immediately put a fan on the stairs. He told us it would take 6 hours for the floors to dry even though he knew it was overcast and heavy rain was expected. We left the house and stayed off the carpets until bedtime 8 or 9 hours later. Some of the carpets were still very wet despite having fans blowing on them and having fans in several windows. The next day, when I called to let him know my carpets were still wet nearly 24 hours later, I got a run around that the rain was making the carpets dry slowly but they should be dry the next day. Again I was out of the house all day and then we left early the following day and were gone all day so I couldn't check the carpets and handle them. 60 hours after he left, I still had enough dampness in the carpets that I still could not replace furniture. This time when we spoke to him we got a run around that it was due to the rain 2 days before, it was due to the heavy foot traffic (since we were out of the house and off the carpets this was bogus- not to mention the worst spots were areas we don't walk), or it was due to prior residue from a prior cleaner (we haven't hired anyone in the past to clean this carpet). We ended up cranking up our heater to 80 degrees on a summer day and finally got our carpets to dry. It took over 72 hours to dry the carpets. Considering the website and his verbal assurance it would be hours to dry, I am extremely disappointing. Furthermore, we spoke with a recently retired carpet cleaner in the area who said that even if it had been raining and in the middle of winter, our carpets should not have been wet for more than 24 hours unless he was using an inferior machine. Bjorn gave excuses to our requests for help, and claimed that since he had done "thousands" of carpets we had no concern. Those thousands of satisfied customers don't make up for leaving my carpet wet for days and my home unable to be put back together and disrupting my life for days on end. If Bjorn had come out and done something to dry the carpet after 24 hrs of wet, moved furniture, and vacuumed as he claims he does, and not given me a runaround, I would have given him high marks. I didn't expect my carpet to be flawless- some areas had some significant wear. I expected improvement, and dry carpets in less than 24 hours and better service. To me a 5 star review isn't that all went perfect without a hitch- if something goes wrong and the vendor makes it right, they deserve just as high a mark as if all went perfect. Sadly, Bjorn didn't do anything to make the situation right. I won't be using him again for the other two rooms in my house and I would never recommend him. read more

So happy I found Hydra Clean! I have been having our carpets cleaned for the last 12 years by various other companies and a number of months ago I had a very tight timeline to get my carpet cleaned before guests came and none of the companies I had previously used was able to accommodate that timeline so I looked outside of the box and found Hydra Clean. Not only did Hydra Clean fit me in but their contact process is so convenient (appointment notifications, notification that they are on their way, etc.), and the job done was so great and thorough I knew I had found a company I could stick with. Recently, I had my carpets cleaned by them again and right after my tech left a smoothie was spilled on the living room carpet. I contacted my tech - Hunter Jenkins - to ask if he had any great ideas for me to help me spot clean. Instead, he went one step further and at the end of his day, he came by and did the spot cleaning himself. I will definitely remain a loyal customer with that kind of service! read more
