Tucson Arborists Professional Services (TAPS) are licensed, insured, and certified. EXCELLENCE!…read more We have a thirty-year old, 60' ft. Mexican Palm Tree. Through the years having it trimmed by different contractors, it has accumulated holes in its trunk from the spikes trimmers wear to climb tall palms. So this time I decided to hire a certified palm tree trimmer at Tucson Arborist Professional Services (TAPS). This company is quite unique: although they offer the usual palm tree trimming using spikes, they also offer "spikeless tree climbing." That's where they actually climb the tree without spikes using safety ropes, in accordance with the International Society of Arboriculture (ISA), and use a special Japanese saw to manually cut the fronds and also shaves with a razor to make the trunk smooth. The end result is a beautiful regal palm pruned to the proper "10 o'clock and 2 o'clock position." I couldn't be happier! The customer service is top-notch. For my free estimate the manager came with the tree trimmer and arrived promptly at the scheduled time. We then set my appointment for palm trim 9am Tuesday November 12, 2019 and again they arrived promptly on time. We confirmed the appointment via text the day before. This is important to me, as so many other contractors in the area are often late, and some don't show up at all! The crew is clean, professional, polite, friendly, and speak fluent English. The manager (Bear Bailey) is very knowledgeable and he oversees the job onsite the entire time the trimmer is there. The trimmer (Gabriel Tadeo) is more than a trimmer, not only is he knowledgeable with years of experience, but he's an ISA Certified Arborist® and also an ISA Certified Tree Worker Climber Specialist®. He is healthy and fit and I was amazed to watch him climb 60 feet using just ropes! SAFETY is their #1 objective and they take time to set up and prepare the job site so everything goes smooth. They use a safety line for emergency personnel to easily locate them. They also communicate via walkie-talkie (this is important from high up 60 feet behind fronds). They leave no debris behind and clean up as they go along. Gabriel used his special hand saw (not a chain saw), so there wasn't sawdust and chunks of palm fronds everywhere at the foot of my palm. Bear picked up the fronds as Gabriel sent them down so at the end there was no mess anywhere! At the foot of my palm I have succulents growing as ground cover, not one was smashed nor disturbed. It was windy out so some of the small pieces flew into my neighbor's yard but the crew made sure that was cleaned up too. Their prices are competitive and affordable, but not cheap. Just remember, you get what you pay for. I've had cheap services in the past, where they disfigure the tree and leave a lot of mess behind. But not so with TAPS. TAPS also provide other services like staking, bracing, transplanting, shrubs/bushes, landscaping, stump and tree removal, insect management, and maintenance. They can trim small, medium or very large trees; Mesquite, Pines, Eucalyptus, Fruit and trees of all kinds; and certainly the usual palm trimming using spikes. Would I use TAPS again? YES! I already have them on my calendar for next year's trimming. It's 108 degrees here in Tucson, and our 8-10 Mesquite trees look so "down". They've grown such…read moreheavy pods this year that they appear to be willows in the making! So, I used Yelp and contacted at least 8 arborists. I was able to schedule four estimates, but I decided on Tucson Arborists after two estimates. When they came out, it was apparent to me (a botanist's daughter) that they definitely knew their trees. They showed us a couple of things that we had been doing wrong, and agreed that this was a good time to get this trimming done (prior to the monsoons). They sent me an estimate online that evening. My husband and I both agreed that they were incredibly knowledgeable, and we felt that their price was reasonable, given their expertise. The morning of the work, they showed up before dawn and went right to it. They occasionally interacted with us to discuss trimming a major branch (for aesthetic reasons), and they completed all work and clean up before noon. Bear Bailey and A.J. were the ones who did this work for us. We are totally pleased with the job they did and with their punctuality in getting us an estimate and performing the work. They even helped to recommend a product that would help us control wood beetles. We plan to use them again when we need more trimming--and there's not a better recommendation than that!

So I would suggest checking other mobile repair services before this one. Plus the service person told me that my situation could be repaired but after paying them for the visit they later refused to make repairs. I would suggest if you use this repair service get the service tech to give you something in writing on the assessment. I had asked to speak to the owner, but I was told by the manager that the owner was away due to a funeral and would have him give me a call. I never received a return call. Don't think this repair service is actually a pro. My recommendation is to avoid them. I would like to respond to the owners reply below. Being his service works on slide outs, he should be aware that there is no way to take the motorhome to a repair facility. (Recommended in the report provided. ) Cannot drive it with the slide stuck out nor will a tow service tow it. So why did another mobile repair service agree to work on it without requiring the removal of the entire slide. I had an issue with the slide at my home in PA. and that mobile repair was able to fix it without removal of the slide. Apparently your service is not competent. Why did your repair guy tell me that the slide could be repaired but later refusing to do the repair. Why did you not give me a call back so it could be discussed privately? Now its made public.

Another tech arrived in support and they thought the problem was fixed and that the water would heat. The first tech said to call or text him if it did not. This was on a Thursday afternoon. When the water did not heat, a text was sent to the first tech with no response. A call was then made to the office and again the receptionist was rude stating that no one could come out until the following Monday. An appointment was made for Monday. I called the office on Monday morning to inquire about charges for another call since the problem was not fixed but the rude and curt receptionist was less than helpful about potential cost. I then cancelled the second trip deciding to go with another company.

After I got involved (3 months after the fact due to the city's lack of response time), some ridiculously rude women at this business REFUSED to send before/after photos. Wonder why!? My handyman/landscaper went over there shortly after their work had been done and said it was a complete disaster. These people are a bunch of snakes pulling wool over the eyes of Tucson residents via the city and overcharging for absolute garbage service and work. I'd prefer do my own landscaping with children's scissors blindfolded before ever considering using them for anything.. and it would probably look better as well

What we had done: masonry work, concrete poured, artificial turf laid, edging installed, gravel spread, trees and shrubs planted. We are very impressed with how Todd and the Arcadia crew transformed our dirt pit into a desert oasis. Thanks!
