Our initial meeting was with one of the business owners Jay, he answered all our questions and kept our minds at ease as we planned for the big day. Man I love these guys. They felt more like friends instead of one of my vendors for my wedding. I swear I hugged them like 4 times at my wedding. Jason and the team are so relatable and made me feel at ease that everything would be taken care of. And honestly they delivered more than that. When I watched my video I couldn't help shedding tears. Simply put it was beautiful. It's normally awkward for normal people to be filmed. But I didn't notice them at all and that's the honest truth but when I got my video back they caught everything. We hired HYLO Events for DJ and MC services our wedding back in April. We were referred to them through close friends. We met with Ryan and Carlo for the consultation. They were informative and detailed oriented. Their number one goal was to make myself and my husband the main priority. I know a lot of vendors say that, but they honestly showed me the true meaning of this on the day of the wedding. Through the entire planning process, I was very surprised, but they were quite involved with the timeline and even gave us advices here and there. During the reception, we had some bumps here and there, but they were flawless. Carlo interacted with my guest, along with my husband and I. They didn't simply sit behind the DJ table and press play. We gave them some guidelines to the music and informed them to play with the crowd, and they did! All my guest loved the music. A few was singing along a lot of the time. They guided us through our wedding, and gave us some pointers too because this was uncharted territory for me and my husband. Our special day was captured perfectly with HYLO. The music was spot-on. I was so wishy-washy about how I wanted the music to be, but Ryan really made some great suggestions and the music was perfect. Our final movie reel of the day was beautiful. I have to say, all the guests (and I mean everyone...from 2 yr olds tearing up the dance floor to the 80 year old grandparents!)...everyone enjoyed the music that HYLO played. So much to say about the AMAZING crew at HYLO Events!! Here's the short and sweet version ... - We hired HYLO for both their videography and DJ services. - First vendor to arrive and the last to leave - Ensured our bridal party was thoroughly happy throughout the wedding day - Respectful to our guests and other vendors - Incredibly accommodating ... the day of the wedding I decided to add mics for the ceremony and they happily did so - Dressed professionally - HYLO Events = BEST event company in the business The long version ... Planning a wedding sucks; there's a lot that goes into looking to finding the right vendor for videography, DJ, photography, food, florists, etc etc. Planning a wedding is even harder when you're living in NorCal and having your wedding in Orange County. With the stress of everything .. HYLO Events was the highlight of it all. Upon our first meeting with Jason and Paul, the hubby and I were incredibly impressed. Due to work schedules, it was always difficult to predict when we would be able to go back to LA to have meeting with possible vendors. Jason and Paul were able to accommodate a last minute meeting with us. During that meeting, they were professional, yet incredibly easy to get along with. They were able to answers all the questions that we did have, as well as give us some pertinent points of thought that we had never considered for the cinematography aspect. The wedding day ... HYLO showed up hours before any of the other vendors arrived. Not only did Jason and Paul, the cinematographers, arrive early but Ryan and Carlo, the DJ and Emcee, arrived early too! All four immediately started setting up and recording all the awesomeness that was happening. I didn't need to give them a list of things to do or what I wanted in the video; they just did it. They worked both independently and collaboratively with our other vendors. In regards to professionalism: Being professional, starts with the way you dress, the way you present yourself and how you communicate with others. Honestly, it should go without saying that if you're a wedding vendor, DRESS PROFESSIONALLY, but apparently I needed to express this concern with my other vendors prior to the wedding day. HYLO was the only vendor who dressed professionally and they did it on a 100 degree summer day in June. They did it all in stride without a single complaint. Thank you HYLO. The day of your wedding, you don't want to have to answer questions about details that should have been dealt with before the wedding. HYLO only came up to me to ask me pertinent questions and to make sure I was hydrated. After the wedding, we received a lot of feedback from our friends and family. By far, the most consistent comment was along the lines of "your DJ and Emcee were amazing!" The music was on point. They played everything that I wanted and didn't play the things that I didn't. The hubby and I are definite fans of old school hip hop and R&B but do also enjoy some EDM. Ryan and Carlo were so awesome. They played the jams and every loved it. There were definite sing-a-long R&B jams accompanied by some Disney classics. They had people singing and dancing all night. It was incredible! [As I know cost is also an issue for anyone planning a wedding: HYLO's prices are very competitive. For cinematography, they charge by the project. This is quite different from all the other videographers out there, who charge by the hour. So what that means is they'll stay over 8 hours and not charge you an arm and a leg. They traveled from LA to Monterey to film our wedding and they were absolutely amazing. However, I used it so much during my recent wedding planning process that I felt compelled to contribute and recognize those vendors that really deserve recognition. We hired HYLO Events for the DJ, Photography, and Cinematography services for our labor day weekend wedding last month. We would have hired them for the MC service as well, but they were unfortunately booked already. Hiring HYLO Events was definitely one of the best and easiest decisions we made for the wedding. From the start, Ryan and Jason were so kind, so professional, and so caring. These brothers, although quite different in personalities, are some of the nicest and most like-able people I've come across. You really get a sense that they genuinely care and want the day to be all about the bride and groom and for us to be as stress-free as possible. Ryan was so friendly and down to earth. He was organized and well prepared. Prior to our wedding, we met up face to face and went through our song list for the ceremony and reception. He was very knowledgeable and experienced and provided us with a lot of tips and suggestions. Our ceremony site had zero equipment but one would not have known that because of the excellent job Ryan and his team did. All I remembered was that the ceremony muscle was perfectly timed and on point. The transitions were great and it made that wedding ceremony that much more perfect. At the reception, from our introductions to our first dance and till the very last song of the night, Ryan certainly delivered! We went with a 90's-early 2000's music mixed with some current hits and our guest really enjoyed it. There were no awkward silences, everything was timed beautifully between the speeches and performances. And, although we could not book their MC service, Ryan worked really well with our MC and the night went very smoothly. I probably worked with Jason the most as he and his team did our engagement session, wedding day photography and cinematography. Jason and his entire team was awesome! He did a great job guiding us through the entire process. He kept my husband and I on track by mapping our timeline of events leading up to the wedding as well as on the wedding day. He gave us lots of choices and options and was very flexible. That is one of the best thing about Jason and his team. We never felt rushed or stressed because there was no time restriction and we could have chosen an unlimited number of locations for both our engagement and wedding day photos. I personally don't have much patience, especially when it comes to posing for pictures. So, I appreciate the fact that Jason and his team was always prepared. He would scout and survey our locations prior to our sessions so by the time we got there, he knew exactly where and how he wanted us. This made the entire process more efficient and enjoyable. Of course, I was equally pleased with his work. Our engagement photos came out great! It was important to me that he captured the candid and natural moments which I felt he did a great job on. We loved our same day edit video! He captured the day so perfectly in that video that we still watch it on a weekly basis just to re-live that wonderful day. Although I have only seen a few wedding day teasers, I'm confident in Jason and his team that all the wedding photographs and the final wedding video will be great as well.
