But if you call the local office the are still answering the phone as Medical Equipment. Yesterday I received a call from Rotech indicating my insurance has denied my monthly bill and CPAP supplies order. Surprised I asked him if my Pulmonologist had forgotten to send in a new prescription. Hard to understand he indicated in the affirmative. I asked if I needed to call my Pulmonologist, he indicated I needed to call the local office and they would know what to do. He indicated I should tell them to remove the "pick up" order. This morning I called Medical Equipment. I did have to hold for a long time. But I suspect it's because their staff has been cut by their new parent company. Niya answered and was extremely nice. She verified my Medicare card number then went into my account to try and figure out the problem. They did have a current prescription from my Pulmonologist. She also said she saw the "pick up" order and indicated that Rotech was wrong. She couldn't remove it. Not understanding what the problem could be Niya said she would research the problem and call me back. I have no doubt that she will. I feel completely comfortable with Medical Equipment and their employees. They've handled my medical supplies needs very well for years. A special thanks goes to Niya.

Their job couldn't be easier; receive prescriptions from doctors and provide the equipment that the prescription calls for to patients. That's it. And not just any equipment, but CPAP equipment. The equipment that allows people to breath properly while they're asleep. No small thing. It would be reasonable to expect they take the job seriously . This company does not. Despite providing life preserving medical equipment, their lack of professionalism, dishonesty, and complete disregard for customer service is at a level that actually makes them a danger to their customers. A family member of mine uses the prescribed medical equipment they provide and they do as little as possible to get the medical equipment to their customers in any sort of a timely manner. I had to go to the store front three different times asking to obtain the equipment for my family member that is needed in order to breath effectively at night. They gave me the run around, fist telling me our prescription never arrived despite having used it at that location prior, and now that it was set I would receive my equipment. Weeks later i returned having still gotten no equipment, and they lied again and told me it was a clerical error that caused the problem and i would receive my equipment in 7-10 business days. 3 weeks later having still received no equipment I returned at which point I asked why i had come three times and received no equipment? And why i had been told things that were not true on three occasions. ultimately I was told I would be better off just buying the prescribed medical equipment myself out of pocket "because they were changing companies". The change was used as an excuse for months and didn't happen. The moral of this story is : If you need a CPAP- do NOT use this company, if your spouse needs equipment do NOT use this company. Utilize every available resource going forward to get what is needed. But do not waste your time with this company.
