I just got my car back home after it had gotten the window smashed, the lock mechanism broken, and the ignition messed up. The mechanic said he never saw anything like this before: the thief realized they couldn't steal the car, so they tried to put everything back in place (they didn't do a great job, but they tried). The total cost of labor and replacing the window was $932.10, which was better than I expected. Three people had to get my car back in order and it was basically complete in 3 hours. I got a couple of great tips too. He said I should check for any safety recalls my car might need, and also get an anti theft device for my steering wheel. Done and done! If you are coming here due to your check engine light on - get ready to spend $$$$. I spent over 800 dollars, only to have my check engine light on come on the very next day. I called the shop and said I would bring it back. And lo and behold, another $1200 for issues that "Did not come up". Are you kidding me? I may be a a single woman but I am no idiot. Eddie gave me another whole list of issues totaling to this amount. I politely declined the service, and told him the issue I brought you to fix is now just coming up? And not a few days ago when I paid you $800?" When I picked up my car before closing, it wasn't even ready. I was truly astounded by the shops behavior to be so careless, as I was very transparent and clear with Eddie that I was not agreeing to his services. I've been meaning to write a review since the end of '2022. Hyperion Auto Repair worked on my car during the mos. of Nov & Dec last year. ALEX, GABBY, EDDIE & (My Apologies I can't remember everyone's name) but the mechanics, all of them are Good Dude's & I mean that in the Sincerest way possible. I had a few things done to my '2001 yr old car & they fixed it & it's running like new. I had a valve job amongst other things but that was the biggest repair. They even observed & took care of smaller issues like my windshield wipers were worn out & my radiator cap was rusted & my driver side door needed help. I'm an older woman & they looked out for details I didn't pay attention to that could've proved risky. THANk YOU FELLAS'! Los Feliz is a pricey neighborhood but they were fair considering. The trio of owners are delightful. They make the experience of handing over your automobile to the mechanic doctors feel painless. They have fair prices on labor and obviously have decades of experience fixing up all kinds of automotive issues. When I was shopping around for mechanics I compared this shop to chain auto repair shops and found these folks to be much more compassionate, individual-oriented, human, and invested in customer care. The chain auto repair shops offer a fixed-frame snapshot that is billed as economical but is actually insufficient to properly deal with the nuances of each individual vehicle. I also compared this place to another highly-rated small-business auto repair shop that was more conveniently located to me. Yet again I went with Hyperion, because they were equally sharp with their diagnosis of the problem yet more solicitous....and $400 cheaper. I was dropped home by one of the owners who went out of his way as I was at a distance. I would say, read the other reviews which demonstrate that people are coming from distances to have their car worked on here. I would say as well, there are benefits to shopping around for car diagnoses and then comparing costs. Some mechanics offer a comprehensive diagnosis which identify and grade issues from urgent to less pressing. I didn't get that kind of an evaluation here, but I did elsewhere. So it's always worth a "second opinion". That's just me doing due diligence. I don't think you'll be led astray here once you've identified what you want to have done to your vehicle. The only downside is that Hyperion Avenue is dangerously engineered and it is quite difficult to slow down without fearing that you will be rear-ended as you approach this shop. As well, it is hard to pull out when cars are screaming by. This is LA, you learn to deal with the risks I guess. read more

As a 73 years old retiree. I can no longer afford to buy a brand new car. So I kept and drive 2 Older Vehicles. A 2005 Dodge Grand Caravan and a 2006 Honda Civic. As Older Vehicle/s they tend to have different issues more often. Fortunately an acquaintance mentioned to me, - Hyperion Auto Repair. I initially went there for the first time on October 2023 with issues on my Honda Civic. Thereafter, I also brought my Dodge Caravan with different problems. I can tell you I am very satisfied with their work on both Vehicles. 5 out of 5. Usually I don't like recommending Auto Repair Shops to others, who ask me, because I will get embarrass, if they do a sloppy job. But not this time. Try them out. I'm now a loyal fan!!! I usually go to ikonic, but they closed, so then I started going to expensive hi tech. They're fine, but didn't have any appointments for the week i needed work done and thank god--or I never would have tried this place. I was headed on a long road trip and needed a ton of work on my BMW. I'd been planning the trip for almost 6 months, so i took my car into 3 different places over the time span and the quotes ranged from $3-$4k (oil, rear +front brakes, new tires, etc etc, 17 different items), so I pushed spending the money off til after the holidays, then after the new year... all of a sudden, my trip was two weeks away!! Can you believe I got my ten year old car completely fixed up at Hyperion for under $2k!!! To be fair, he gave me a break on labor, but even still, every item that needed replacement was $20-$50 less than all the other quotes I had received. On a European car-- Amazing! I am at my wits end. I've been using this place for around 3 years and recently the service has become abysmal. I told them my engine coolant indicator was low and there was something wrong with my air conditioning. I also repeatedly asked them to tell me what the high pitched noise coming from my car is. I Said this right to Eddy's face. I pick up my car(late, because their phones no longer work and they couldn't bother to use other means to contact me), and the car is still making the noise. I turn around and beg them to fix the issue. The other guy in the office says it's related to the air-conditioning and it's my fault for not telling them about the air conditioning. He basically called me a liar by saying I never mentioned the air-conditioning! It's offensive and an outrageous way to treat a long-term customer. I was told that it's my job to diagnose all of the issues with my car. I had to explain to him that I'm not a mechanic and I mentioned the issue already. They finally fixed the issue but only because I was sitting right there in the car when they fixed it. Reporting anything about the car is like talking to a brick wall. They don't answer direct questions. They try to avoid them and rush you out the door. I don't know if they aren't taking down notes or if the mechanics just don't read them but the issue you come in for isn't addressed. And guess what? My low coolant indicator is still popping up! I called back twice and was told to bring the car back and that they didn't properly inspect the car the first time. That maybe it's a small leak that they didn't look for. That was the whole reason I brought the car in! They admitted they did a poor job. That it doesn't concern the owner that his employees can get on the phone and admit that they didn't address the issue is deeply concerning. Instead of looking at the issue I specifically addressed, I was called a liar and they tried to sell me brakes and shocks. This place is moving real shady lately, it's a shame. I will be finding another shop, hopefully with workers who aren't biased against single women and actually take our concerns seriously. read more

My Vehicle was towed in. I ran a test with an obd reader before hand and gave them the results. Needed a new pedal and pedal sensor. Told me they had to run their own test to make sure, okay. Ran their test and came to their conclusion that will fix the problem of my pedal not responding to me pressing on the gas. Agreed to pay to what I believed what will fix my problem. Just a month or two later my pedal again stops responding on the freeway. When I called back to tell them what happened they said they couldn't find the issue. So basically they just "fixed" some random things that had nothing to do with the main issue. Went to another mechanic and told me I needed a new pedal system. I had such an inconveniently timed accident with my car getting side swiped when it was parked and a friend recommended I just drop it at Hyperion Auto before the Thanksgiving holiday. I really hate bringing in my car for any type of tune-up, but my poor Honda got damaged from another punk trying to steal my catalytic converter. I brought my car in to get fixed and while I was there, Gabby also did a whole inspection and tune-up, including fixing a broken window that needed a new regulator and casing.
