Last fall I needed a tree and a good friend of mine suggested we look at an often overlooked nursery called Hypermotion. 8021 County Rd 167, McKinney 75071, which is on the same road as Meyers Park, just a short way beyond it. They do landscape design and are also a wonderful nursery when you are looking for the best prices for trees, scrubs & bushes as well as annuals & perennials. I went back just recently and they had a great selection of plants and the prices were very reasonable. Try them out, they are worth the drive. read more

I sent the owner a picture (6 year old live oak) of the tree that needed to be removed and was quoted $150 for removal plus a $50 plant fee and the cost of the new tree. The company came to my house to perform the work and said the tree was too big to remove. The owner called and told me it was two big even though she provided the quote. Then she hung up on me. Don't trust them to stand behind their quotes. Horrible experience. read more

They have lots of ideas, advice and expertise, and hand pick and bring the best trees from out of state. And the chickens are a delight! They just did a fantastic job on our back yard landscaping, turning our empty space into lovely garden. First class work, from design, to the best equipment, organic materials and trees/plants. From the pump, to the vault to the Eco Boxes to keep the pump clean and prime pond lining tucked way up under the rocks to avoid leaks and tears, you get what you pay for here. They placed every rock and stone by hand and exactly where it needed to be. Don't ask them to do something "cheap" - they won't do it! Call them if you want the best. Aimee and her team are beyond amazing. Hardworking. Rocks and stones were brought in to help stave off my erosion issues. Shrubs were removed and replaced with pollinator-friendly perennials. By far the most personalized landscaping company I have ever worked with. Aimee is absolutely wonderful! I love plants and flowers but don't know much about plants names or which ones are good for bees or butterflies. I pretty much asked Aimee for a rock and she gave me a diamond. Her prices were very reasonable as well. She worked with her crew to coordinate the right location of the plants based on the position of our yard and sun exposure. I love the backyard and have received many complements. My neighbors even thank me for the butterflies that have come to their yards on their way to our milkweeds. Contacting a good landscape designer in mid-spring is a bit futile if you want something soon, because the good ones are already heavily booked -- as we naively learned! One NextDoor-recommended designer in McKinney didn't even bother to return our call. But despite being extremely busy, Aimee, with HyperMotion, not only returned our call quickly, she set an appointment within a week, showed up on the dot, and took time to take a serious look at our landscaping issues, giving us some suggestions -- all backed with sensible reasoning and purpose. She was frank and realistic about what can be done and we appreciated that. So while we won't get something done now, we will consider her ideas for a time when we can schedule a project. It's beginning to be a rare thing to find someone who is as conscientious and reliable in this line of business as Aimee proved to be. read more

I drove to the hyper motion nursery and was impressed with their trees and the honest advice so I purchased 3 trees! We are very happy repeat customers of Aimee @ hypermotion and don't hesitate to recommend her. First time was about 5 years ago when our backyard needed help after a pool was installed. The recommendations Aimee made as for as plants, shrubs, stone work, etc were perfect and when complete we received numerous compliments from friends about the beautiful landscaping. A couple months ago our front yard needed work because of a dying tree, river rock border that looked just OK, and a drainage issue at the gate between the front and the back yards. Aimee was the first one we called and her ideas sold us immediately. We got exactly what we wanted on the budget we set, the work was scheduled quickly, completed in two days, and clean-up was spotless. It's so cliche but 5 stars isn't enough. After a nightmare home building process where we got taken advantage of at every turn, we were super wary about choosing a landscaper. Landscape can radically improve your home's appearance or it can make it look very, very average. We interviewed four or five landscapers and half never showed up or didn't follow through. The first landscaper we hired promised us the moon and charged for it as well. One very long month into the job and the only thing he did in a timely manner was bill us. Back to square 1. We had met Aimee at a home show and really liked her but she is super creative and unstructured and that makes my left brain husband freak out a tiny bit. But we met with her again and made the very best decision of the prior 3 years when we hired Hypermotion to finish our yard. We fell in love as the job progressed and kept adding on to the scope, eventually having them do front, back and side yards. She and Lori completely blew us away in every way. They are creative, professional, super bright, true to their word always, the hardest working crew ever - even in the brutal July in Texas heat. And besides that, they are just a joy to be around - we were sad when they were finished actually. But I can't overstate how much we love what they did. The huge boulder retaining wall, the gorgeous rock slab stairs through the front yard, the river rock stream that solved our serious drainage issue - they are all unreal. Strangers often stop to ask about our yard and who did it. Then the plants they chose - fabulous and appropriate for the area and the perennials came back better the next spring. The best part is the birds, bees and butterflies love it here. Our yard makes us so happy and I'm sure it's increased the value of the house tremendously. If you're looking for something very special and truly beautiful to be installed by people who do what they promise we strongly recommend Hypermotion to everyone. We would use them again in a heartbeat. read more
