This cozy wine bar is lovely. Ron, the owner, served Trinidadian curry at the 1 year re-opening anniversary to honor his heritage. My family and I are from Trinidad so we came to support him. We found a new favorite spot! Ron, his partner Joanne, and bartender Christina are really nice and the wine selection is interesting and delicious. Be sure to ask about the "secret wine" of the night. It was a gem!

Wonderful hidden GEM of a wine/beer bar. Walking down Gough you'll find this intimate and inviting wine bar. Great for date nights or a friend date. Lighting is nice and relaxing. They have artwork on the walls inside for sale. If not buying it's wonderful to admire. If you're looking for a vibe this is it. Heck bring a group of friends, they have super comfortable sofas for a group 3-5. Also have tables and chairs as you can see, A bar area with an amazing bartender. Menu is nice and fairly priced. Bartender is just as much of a GEM as this off of the path establishment.

Shout out to Matt for great conversation, fun records, and delicious wine recommendations. The snacks of umami crackers, cheese plate, and incredible candied nuts were tasty. The seating area had high tops, couch, bistro tables, and a bar to choose from. It's a fun spot to hang out. I'll certainly be back for record swaps on Sundays and tarot card readings on Tuesdays.

Super fun wine bar. I went here for the Halloween party and I love the aesthetic. The cork ceiling is a nice touch. The owner and staff are all super nice and welcoming with great service. Prices are as expected for an sf wine bar and their selection is awesome. When they have an event with light food refreshments it's amazing food so really recommend stopping by!

This little wine bar is so charming and cute. It's perfect for a date night or to just catch up with friends in an intimate setting. I had the orange and white blend and it was crisp and delicious, and wasn't too sweet which I liked. My husband got the non-alcoholic Riesling and loved it. I was shocked there was no alcohol in it, and the taste was great. We were there for Halloween so they had these delicious cupcakes and pumpkin/squash stuffing. The food was impeccable. Really great experience at this intimate location.

This is the perfect spot for a cozy, intimate meet-up over some quality wines. The atmosphere is warm and relaxed, and I also appreciate the thoughtfully curated artwork on the walls.

Perfect for enjoying vino and a quiet conversation

If you fancy an intimate wine bar to converse quietly w/friends or charm your date in a relaxed setting, this is THE PERFECT SPOT. I'm weary they'll be packing them in once word gets out that they've opened back up post-pandemic. But alas, they "are" OPEN again (YAY!) and we need to celebrate and support gems like this. Note: menu, hrs, etc subject to change but current as of 05:01/22 FYI: It is NOT a hotel. It is a wine bar/art gallery tucked away in an alley in SF's Hayes Valley MENU: https://hotelbironwinebar.com/menu WINE: Order by the glass (generous pours!) or bottle from a well-curated, rotating selection of (red, white, sparkling) wines. They offer sake and artisan beer too. FLIGHTS: A trio of wine flights, vermouth flights, sake flights (changes) FOOD: limited, typical wine bar fare: cheese and charcuterie, crackers, chips, nuts AMBIANCE: This is the big draw for me. Speakeasy vibe, intimate, relaxed, rustic interior w/red brick walls, warm and inviting, romantic, dim lighting, candlelight, cozy, quiet, artsy, low-key, unpretentious. Cool background music eases you into a relaxed mood but is not loud, so you're not competing w/it and shouting to be heard. Equipped w/2 comfy couches, short/tall bistro chairs and tables, a cute tiny bar w/stools, and a revolving exhibition of local art that lines the walls. PERFECT FOR: Date night (so romantic!), after-work drinks, girls night out (for quiet convos), small groups (please stay away if you're the loud, rowdy set because a big part of the charm here is that it's relatively quiet compared to other bars/lounges) SERVICE: Attentive, fast, friendly (KJ is fabulous and very knowledgeable about the wine, so she'll help you make the right drink choice to mark the end of your eve.) HOURS: Open late EVERY single night 5pm-1am (nocturnal urbanites rejoice)! A quiet SF wine bar that's open late every night should be on the endangered biz list. So many sml businesses like this count on regular clientele to keep the doors open, so show your support by dropping by! Sun-Tues are slower and less-busy, so those nights are esp great for sml groups. First date? Then maybe the busier Thur-Frid nights (or an event night) may ease those first-date jitters. HAPPY- HOUR: 5-6pm daily ($7 vino!) EVENTS: They host cool, curated events like brand releases, art openings, etc. Check out their FB or IG page so you don't miss out! LOCATION: Remember, it's not a hotel. It's tucked in an alley right behind the popular Zuni Cafe. If ubering, go to Zuni Cafe and just walk behind it into Rose St alley until you come to a nondescript door that grants entry into this little gem. If taking Muni, get off on VanNess station (BART - get off at Civic Center) and just walk a few minutes West on Market St 'til you see Zuni Cafe and go right into Rose St. alley. CAPACITY: About 40 people max seating capacity. So hurry before hipsters get hold of this spot and you no longer get a table! I honestly can't believe it's been under the radar for this long. Mixed feelings abt sharing this review because I hate that it might get too crowded once people are smitten by its charm. I ADORE this lovely little wine bar and you will too! It's a welcome respite from a long day of working. Highly recommend.

It was a quiet night when I went. good place for a date and great wine. The bartender was so nice we had great conversations and good laughs. Only thing bad about it is that it's hidden lol I found this place by luck I wanted a drink before going to dinner next door so I walked around the block and peaked in. They have art on the walls you can purchase. Good vibes and great wine

Hotel Biron tries to be Inconspicuous by hiding itself in an alley behind Zuni Cafe, but I was smart enough to check out the Yelp reviews before hand because the only clue to this place is a glowing orange "B" sign. What does the "B" stand for? B stands for Bacchus. They are serious about their wine choices (heavy on European varietals) and looking at that looong list will make your brain work extra hard. Order their cheese/charcuterie plate to keep your synapses firing away. B stands for Break. It will break the bank. They have 30+ wines by the glass, but do not offer wine flights. Ask for a taste from the barman before making a choice. B stands for Berate. As in, I'm berating myself for not seeking this place out sooner! B stands for Babe. Seriously, bring your babe when you go here on date night: exposed brick, cozy interior and low lighting. Hey, everyone looks good in candle light, right? B stands for Banging. That's what you'll be doing after a bottle of wine and a hot kissing session on their comfortable couch in a secluded area towards the back of the bar. You're welcome.

Overall, the pizza was good. My only complaint is that they put a little too much Parmesan on top for my taste since I'm not really a parm person. I found this place through Barstool Pizza Review, so I definitely wanted to give it a shot. I'd give it a solid 4.5-5 stars. I've been trying different pizza spots all day, and I wouldn't say this was the best one I had, but it definitely wasn't the worst either. It was just a good, solid pizza. Next time I'll ask for no Parmesan, and I think that could easily make it a 5-star experience for me. Service was okay. It seemed like they were mostly set up for dine-in, and since there really wasn't anywhere for us to sit, we felt a little rushed. The lady who helped us was very nice, and the gentleman who handed us the pizza was nice as well. The place has a cool neighborhood feel and looks like they may be doing some construction or improvements right now. I posted a few pictures, and I definitely want to come back one more time, sit down, and give it another try.

After a soccer game, or to celebrate something, or just on a random Tuesday night. But somewhere along the way, pizza became a delivery thing. Something to eat when I was feeling lazy. My quest to find the best pizza in San Francisco is reminding me how much I enjoy sitting down for pizza with the ones I love. And Hi Hat is one of the best spots in the city to do that. The people are super nice. There's plenty of space to cozy up, and probably a dozen beers on tap. Good, local beers, like Bare Bottle. Cellarmaker. Ghost Town. And yes, the food is really really good. Especially the pizza. They're known for their spicy vodka and Stracciatella which has this creamy, garlicky sauce...and a slow burn to it. I really enjoyed it. And the jersey pie, which is really all about the tomatoes. My wife LOVED it. I thought it was good....in a simple pleasures kinda way. You can these by the slice, and after 9PM slices are three bucks. But some pies, you can only get whole. Like this sausage and ricotta pizza that I absolutely loved. I'm normally not a ricotta guy - but this was whipped so light and airy...in between bites of salty sausage....I get it now. And of all the NY style spots I've tried on this quest, this might be my favorite crust. I asked their pizza tosser how he does it. It's a five day process, and they keep the dough cold until the second it goes in the oven. That traps the air bubbles inside. And those bubbles are what give it this airy, crispy, fluffy crust. Then he slid a cookie in front of my daughter, and it hit me that this was HER first random tuesday nights going out to pizza with mom and dad...and I know she loved it too.

Their beer is excellent, and I've heard nothing but great things about the place and people. We visited on a Sunday and met friends, who said it took a while to get a big table for us; it was surprisingly packed! It's a large industrial brewery, with the equipment chained off at the back. They make great use of the rest of the building with large tables, small tables, bar seating/standing room, plus an arcade area, outside seating area, and a few cozy living room style areas with stuffed furniture at the back. From the outside, The Beer Hall almost blended into its surroundings - I almost walked right by if it hadn't been for the neon "The Beer Hall" sign. The taproom is quite spacious and could accommodate several large groups; however, the night of our visit was relatively quiet, perhaps due to the cold weather. Since there weren't any large tables, our group spread out over three smaller tables. As people came and went throughout the evening, it was convenient that we could each order our own beer and food at the bar. I selected an IPA from Fieldwork, a local favorite, and the beer stayed cold and refreshing throughout the evening. The food menu was limited, but I was craving something warm and salty to pair with my beer. For nearly $10, the fries weren't cheap, but the plate was piled high with some of the best fries I've had in a while. They were served piping-hot alongside two dipping sauces - aioli and ketchup. My friends sitting around me couldn't resist them either, and the mountain of fries disappeared in record time. The servers at the bar were very friendly and checked in on our group often.
