    Half pours!

Went to Beer Hall before a concert on a Monday a few weeks ago. Plenty of space, airy, friendly staff. We sat at a booth and had some delicious half pours of beer including an Octoberfest. My Margarita flat bread was delicious, a ton of Arugula, and all the flavor I was looking for in a flat bread pizza. Really enjoyed my time there and will be back!

I went here on a random Thursday for a work happy hour not expecting much, but I was pleasantly surprised. The inside was spacious and well decorated with plenty of tables for large groups. Their beer menu is pretty extensive, and I appreciated how knowledgeable and helpful the bartender was when I said I wasn't the biggest beer person (I know I'm sorry!). The highlight for me was the Rosti & Roe; I genuinely could not stop eating them. This is a great spot to stop by when you're in the Union Square area and want a place to chill!

After arriving to the City from the South Bay and checking into the Proper Hotel my fiancé and I walked around looking for a bar or somewhere to eat. But on our way to the Big Apple Pizza we saw a sign with a Beer stein pointing us to a door with the words "Beer Hall". Peeking our head inside we were greeted from a voice in the distance "Welcome, come on in! We're open!" Walking in we were confused where to go and making our way to the bar we were welcomed by kind hearted lady named Betsy (Bets) who was so down to earth and friendly to a point I wanted to kick it with her and have a beer, she was telling us of events and popups that were happening that evening and during the weekend. I ordered the Ghost Town "Oblivion" Hazy IPA from Oakland and my fiancé ordered the Faction "1970s" Light Lager. We ordered the Rosti & Roe (potato cakes, crème fraiche, malt vinegar, trout roe, peas, and mint) and the Fried Chicken Sandwich to share with a side of fries. The Rosti & Roe was to die for. It was incredible, it was crunchy, savory, creamy, but also so fresh with ingredients. My mouth is watering right now thinking of it. The textures were out of this world from the crunch of the potato to squishy from the trout roe. If you are a food venture-er I would HIGHLY recommend this dish. The Fried Chicken Sandwich had such a juicy meat and a great crunch in the munch of the sando. (if you couldn't tell I'm all about texture) The sandwich had such a great classic taste to it where you couldn't go wrong with the build of the meal. I would one hundred and ten percent come back to the Beer Hall and explore more of their menu, it's its just hard to know where to land for a good spot to eat in the City when you have hidden gems like the Beer Hall. 10 out of 10 would recommend the Beer Hall! Cheers Bets!

The Beer Hall is one of those spots that instantly feels right the moment you walk in. The vibe is cool and relaxed, with a lively energy that makes it perfect for meeting friends, unwinding after a long day, or settling in for a casual night out. It strikes a great balance between laid-back and social without ever feeling overcrowded or chaotic. The beer selection is excellent, with a wide range of options that cater to just about every taste. Whether you're into crisp lagers, bold IPAs, or something a little more adventurous, there's plenty to choose from. Everything we tried was fresh and well poured, making it easy to enjoy more than one without feeling overwhelmed by the menu. One thing that really stood out is the food menu. There's a solid variety of options that pair perfectly with the beer, so it's not just a place to drink, it's a place to actually enjoy a full experience. The menu feels thoughtfully put together, with choices that are satisfying, shareable, and ideal for a relaxed beer hall setting. The Beer Hall delivers on all fronts: atmosphere, beer, and food. It's the kind of place you can casually stop into and end up staying longer than planned. Highly recommend if you're looking for a great beer selection, good eats, and a genuinely enjoyable vibe.

Super big and chill space to grab a few brews. Came in on a Saturday evening to kill some time before meeting up with some friends. Plenty of seats and friendly staff. Food was good too, but not too much of a selection. Would highly recommend to anyone in the area.

I have been wanting to come to their main spot (they used to have a smaller spot near NEMA) & I finally stumbled upon it! I came for the sour and I'm not disappointed at all. The pretzel is good also. Service was a little slow at the start, probably waited a good 10+ minutes. I'll come back for the beer selection for sure and I highly recommend you do the same

Came on after a play, matinee show at 1pm. Was looking for a place before it started. Not many places around and didtopen until noon. Wish it opened early when shows are at the theater. Food was 7 out of 10. Beer selection was extrnsive - hence the name.

We booked the dining reservation and checked all the fine print. Luckily, I finally found a review saying that their children were turned away at the door before we actually left for our reservation. What a disappointment! Seems like it would be really easy to just write 21+ when you go to make a reservation if you don't want to answer the phone!

After a soccer game, or to celebrate something, or just on a random Tuesday night. But somewhere along the way, pizza became a delivery thing. Something to eat when I was feeling lazy. My quest to find the best pizza in San Francisco is reminding me how much I enjoy sitting down for pizza with the ones I love. And Hi Hat is one of the best spots in the city to do that. The people are super nice. There's plenty of space to cozy up, and probably a dozen beers on tap. Good, local beers, like Bare Bottle. Cellarmaker. Ghost Town. And yes, the food is really really good. Especially the pizza. They're known for their spicy vodka and Stracciatella which has this creamy, garlicky sauce...and a slow burn to it. I really enjoyed it. And the jersey pie, which is really all about the tomatoes. My wife LOVED it. I thought it was good....in a simple pleasures kinda way. You can these by the slice, and after 9PM slices are three bucks. But some pies, you can only get whole. Like this sausage and ricotta pizza that I absolutely loved. I'm normally not a ricotta guy - but this was whipped so light and airy...in between bites of salty sausage....I get it now. And of all the NY style spots I've tried on this quest, this might be my favorite crust. I asked their pizza tosser how he does it. It's a five day process, and they keep the dough cold until the second it goes in the oven. That traps the air bubbles inside. And those bubbles are what give it this airy, crispy, fluffy crust. Then he slid a cookie in front of my daughter, and it hit me that this was HER first random tuesday nights going out to pizza with mom and dad...and I know she loved it too.

Their beer is excellent, and I've heard nothing but great things about the place and people. We visited on a Sunday and met friends, who said it took a while to get a big table for us; it was surprisingly packed! It's a large industrial brewery, with the equipment chained off at the back. They make great use of the rest of the building with large tables, small tables, bar seating/standing room, plus an arcade area, outside seating area, and a few cozy living room style areas with stuffed furniture at the back. To the right on entry is the canned beer for takeout, to the left is their large bar and impressive tap list. We mostly get IPAs, so it was fun to try their other styles like rice lagers and a barleywine, everything was excellent. Their flights are huge, basically half size goblet pours in a six rack. Prices are reasonable for the well developed beer. They also had a food vendor outside, which we loved (see separate review).
