My original makeup artist (Mercedes from Golden Bridal Design) backed out of our contract without warning or a backup the night before my makeup trial, just 3 weeks before my wedding. I had my trial with Kim while this news came, and she was there for me the whole way through. She posted on her social media requesting a makeup artist who is available, and helped me through that whole process without being asked. She eventually gave me her blessing for Makeup by Caroline O (please go check her out, she is angel herself).This just shows how passionate and dedicated she is to her brides above and beyond the call of duty as your bridal hairstylist. Just no! Her styling was a disaster for my daughters wedding. Since you show up with washed/dried hair from the night before, I brought her a picture of me in my hairstyle that was very simple and typical of what you see today, middle part with wavy curls similar to say, Kelly Ripa. So simple. As she worked on my hair, I felt her teasing the crown of my head and spraying it like it was going to be a beehive hairstyle, but I thought ok maybe that's how she gets it to stay styled all day so I was patient. But then I felt her doing something else weird to my hair and asked for a mirror and was horrified! It was puffy on top with no part (like an old lady) and then little ringlets only on hair past the lower part of my ears. I've never seen something so ugly in my life and I couldn't understand it because I had a picture of ME in my simple hairstyle. She was VERY defensive, when I said it didn't look anything like the picture. She said she can't work from a picture and insisted I needed to tell her in words what I wanted. I tried, but she rejected my words, she wanted me to tell her in hairdressers terms what I wanted. I'm not a stylist so I had no idea what she was expecting of me and why a photo of me in the simple hairstyle wasn't adequate. The bridesmaids tried to help tell her in words to appease her, but she was just sassy and frankly bratty that someone would criticize her work. Most of the girls in the bridal party also had their own stories about how she did not listen to them and put bumps in their hair with teasing, for example, when they specifically asked for no bumps. This is at least 3 months late but I want to make sure Kimberly May's prospective clients are aware that they'll be in good hands with her when it comes to their hairstyle! I'm a photographer and I worked with her in one of my clients' weddings. My client and her entire bridal party had gorgeous hairstyles!
