We've gone to some of the more "sought after" or "well known" sushi restaurants and have gotten smelly rolls from two different locations, leaving us with upset stomachs. This seafood at iHeart Sushi is ALWAYS fresh, the portions are fantastic and the flavors are to-die-for. It's always worth our 30min drive to have this quality of sushi. The "rangoon stix" were filled with absolutely nothing but imitation crab. No sauce or cream cheese, nothing. I was disappointed with my hand roll as it had nothing but salmon and rice. Other than problems with the food, the bill was absurd. For 1 hand roll and 1 regular roll with the crab stix our total was 31.85. If you add 8 plus 10 plus 8 plus tax that gives you just over 28 dollars. We already thought the prices were a little steep as they were increased from the online menu. They added 3 extra dollars to the hand roll on the bill with no explanation. We just paid it and as we were paying there was also a credit card charge. We left paying 40 dollars for the small, small amount of food we got. So disappointed and honestly angry. Would not recommend. read more

I have now tried I Heart Sushi twice. They are located over by Hobby Lobby and currently (Dec. 2021) only doing to-go, curbside pickup. The ordering is easy and communication great. They ask what car you will be driving so they can pop outside and bring you your grub. The first time, we ordered Dragon roll, California roll, crunchy crab roll and shrimp hibachi. The dragon was definitely the best roll of the three, with the most textures and flavors. All of the sushi was well-made and fresh. I clearly forgot that the hibachi was disappointing, because I ordered it again on visit #2. Doh! The most recent visit, I ordered the crunchy shrimp roll and chicken hibachi dinner. The sushi was well-made again, but it was simply fried shrimp in rice topped with what seemed like their shrimp sauce perhaps mixed with mayo? It really could have used avocado or cucumber, even roe to add a different texture. It still served its purpose. The hibachi contained chicken, rice in the shape of a heart, and mixed veggies (zucchini, peppers, and onions galore). Both the shrimp during trip 1 and the chicken during visit 2 were abundant. Since these dinners are pricey, it is nice that there is so much protein. This time, the fried rice-which is the kind that is white rice with a bit of soy sauce mixed in- was hard and not many veggies. So bummed. I appreciate that there is a side salad or soup offered with the hibachi dinners. I really, REALLY wish I loved this place...especially since it is so close to home. Next time, I will avoid the hibachi but would still order from the small sushi menu here if I really needed a fix. read more

One of our all time favorite sushi places: family-owned, always fresh, never too long of a wait! My family is obsessed with the Moua roll, a sweet and lightly spicy crab roll that is crave-worthy! The prices for the traditional rolls feel a liiiittle high to me, but the special rolls are priced for the quality ingredients AND huge portion sizes. (For reference, my husband and I split the Moua roll and each get a mushroom soup and are STUFFED by the end.) The staff is very friendly, and the restaurant is always clean and orderly. BEST SUSHI IN TOWN! If you are up for the drive to Oak Ridge, which you definitely should be, you will be very happy you did with the deliciously large fresh sushi rolls, that is extremely affordable. Most people say Nama is the best, but I have to disagree. If you think Nama is the best sushi place in this town then you have not been to I Heart Sushi. The guy who owns this place worked at Sushi Spot in Powell, and had a very large following there. He has now opened his own spot, in a small shopping center right next to Hobby Lobby, which has now been open for a year. His family also has the popular Knoxville restaurant called Sticky Rice Cafe, so that should also tell you the quality is 100% there. The pot stickers (& the sauce with the pot stickers was delish), and the sushi rolls we tried were excellent - the 4J's roll, and the Moua Roll (Sushi Spot has this roll called the Jake Roll, because so many people ordered that, he had to rename it at his place). They only have beer, but I bet if you wanted to bring a bottle of wine they would allow that too. They also close pretty early because Oak Ridge itself shuts down pretty early. The waiter was and staffs were nice but the spicy tuna roll wasn't spicy what so ever and the tuna felt off when I had 3 rolls and after that I felt sick to my stomach after eating the spicy tuna rolls and the waiter took every long to give us our bill and the when I told the waiter about the spicy roll didn't taste good or felt off she didn't care to take it off the bill. Honestly, big sushi lover here and I feel like I have a decent idea of "good" quality sushi. Expectations were low from the start just simply based on location. I ordered simple hand rolls (take out because that's all they're doing currently) nothing too crazy. Spicy tuna, and multiple salmon rolls and some nigiri. I hate even complaining about restaurants and even called to mention the problem and it was mentioned that "the chef would be talked to" but this was just bad. I know sushi has a "fish" smell....duh it's fish... but the texture, smell, and even the color was just all wrong. I know their meat cannot possibly be caught and served the same day but this was multiple, multiple, MULTIPLE days old and did not look NOR taste appetizing. Definitely not worth the price and quality of the food was subpar at best. I do not recommend unless you have A SERIOUSLY LOOK AT YOUR FOOD BEFORE PAYING. USE ALL THE SENSES or maybe just get sushi from Kroger instead, I'd rust it more to be honest. 2 stars just because the workers were decently friendly but that's all I'm giving. read more

The sushi here is really great, BUT for some reason they cannot cook meat for hibachi. I've been here many times and the chicken or beef is ALWAYS overdone and chewy. Secondly, and perhaps even more frustrating is you never know when they are going to be open. I tried to get sushi there tonight 12/27. Called, no message saying they were closed. Drove by there and no sign or anything on the door even though according to Google they were supposed to be open. read more

I am a foody I moved here from NJ and have eaten in the best restaurants up there so when I say the sushi here is amazing it really is. You can tell they use the freshest ingredients and the chef is an artist. I've never had sushi so detailed in flavor and color. Tried every roll on the menu and even got some house special rolls that rocked out socks off. The meals are decent and the cost is higher than the locals are used to paying but it is still a cheap deal overall. It is in a strange out of the way location and yet it's well worth finding. Plenty of easy parking outside. The sushi/sashimi is well prepared and the portions are large. The choices are Americanized but still highly enjoyable. The quality of the food is top rate overall.
