I love mu pizza fresh out of the oven, so I usually prefer pizza spots where we can dine in as a family. From the outside, I always thought this place was small, but it's actually quite spacious, bright, and very clean inside. We're so used to seeing greasy, sticky tables at pizza places, but not here. Everything was spotless--I didn't even feel the need to wipe the table, which is rare for a pizza spot. My husband and I love extra thin and crispy pizza, and this one was exactly how I like it--perfectly balanced and delicious. So many times before when I asked asked for "extra crispy" elsewhere, ended up with a burnt pizza, but this was just right. I couldn't be happier! The staff and the manager were very friendly and helpful. The manager especially made an effort to chat with customers and ensure everyone was happy. When the hole-in-the-wall has AMAZING pizza, you come back again and again. This is our go-to spot on our way to Killington. There are a ton of different speciality pizzas, and right now they have a deal for 2 cheese pizzas and soda for $6.50 or 2 specialty pizzas for $8.50. Decent local pizzeria, good for a slice or a takeout pizza. The main reason I go here is because of the convenience, the selection, and the quick service. But occasionally will order a pizza from here because it's relatively close and open late. This I Love New York Pizza has a great location right on Hoosick Street. It has its own parking lot to the left of the building. No table service. Either order at the counter or call your order in ahead of time. The counter services, friendly and efficient. They give you want and then check you out. There's a few tables, but this is really a takeout restaurant. The main thing I like is that they have a wide variety pizza slices already prepared, so that if I want a quick bite, I can usually get what I want. I've never had anything but pizza here. Apparently, this place is under new ownership in the last couple weeks. The pizza is NOT good. I am soooo disappointed! This was the ONLY pizza place we would order from - for over 10 years! The pizza we got last night is almost inedible, and definitely not the same recipes. We called to complain and were told the recipes were the same - but they can't be. From different spices being used, to missing ingredients (no mushrooms on the chicken alfredo pizza - even though the pizza description on the menu literally says "mushrooms"!), I am not sure we will be back. And, I've heard from quite a few friends who are not happy with the pizza from here anymore. Excuse me while I go cry from a broken heart. RIP, chicken alfredo pizza from I Love on Hoosick. I'm from New York. Not New York State, but New York City. Well, technically Long Island which is just east of NYC but that's not the point. The point is that Long Islanders pride themselves on their bagels and their pizza. When I moved to Troy in March, I knew my pizza days were gone. I had heard that Albany pizza just wasn't worth the calories. Then I saw "I love New York pizza" and everything changed. It was like a sudden trip home. The scent as soon as you walk in, the huge variety of slices, the decor and plastic benches. The pizza was amazing. Amazing, amazing! Literally Long Island pizza in the middle of Hoosick. I took my family here for dinner recently. We were coming back from a ski trip in VT. Generally we love small pizza places over the chains. After ordering four dinner items, I asked the person at the register for tap water. He said I have to buy bottled water. I didn't make a fuss but this infuriated me. I just ordered nearly $60 in food and he's gonna nickel and dime me for water? Sorry, not coming back here and I advise you to do the same. Cheese - Very plentiful, good taste, not overly greasy. Sauce - This is my only knock on the place. Fair amount of sauce is used on the pizza so it really stands out. Sauce is sweet with a tomato paste vibe to it with lacking spices. Must point out though that its not a bad sauce it just doesn't add anything to the pizza. Dough- Very substantial crust with a nice crisp and taste to it. These slices will fill you up it won't leave you hungry like some of those super thin woodfired type sizes. Tried to order food tonight. A guy answers the phone i say id like to place an order for delivery, He responds rudely saying yeah that depends on where you are at. I give him my address and he kinda huffs and says ok like he didn't want to do it. i place my order he says cash or card i say card he says ok how much for tip on your card i say ill tip cash he says no its a mandatory 20% tip on the card or he will cancel my order. OK since when is tipping mandatory and since when do you mandate how much a person will tip. A tip is given based on how well a service is performed. If you show up fast with great food you get a great tip if you show up late with bad food you get NO tip. So now im supposed to tip a mandatory 20% in advance and then cross my fingers and pray. I order food from here on average 6 times a month and i know my chances are mediocre at best. I would of thought that being such a frequent customer i would have been treated better. I think i'll give my hard earned money to a better run business. Try Big Bellies on 5th and 114th in Lansingbugh. Better quality food and friendlier people running the place. read more

Last week I ordered a Mediterranean pizza from their Gourmet pizza menu. $16.50 for the medium size, with toppings so scanty there were bare spots all over the pie; I was very disappointed. It had a tiny handful of spinach leaves, and about 3 tablespoons of feta. I thought maybe it was just this pizza. Today I ordered a large, regular pizza with additional toppings of feta, onions, & tomatoes. There was even less feta on this one..maybe two tablespoons over the whole pie. There were enough onions, maybe 3/4 of a sliced tomato. At $2.50 per additional topping (even though their website said $2 per additional topping), I feel cheated. I used to like their pizza, but something has definitely changed. I will not be ordering from them again. read more

I Love New York Pizza is alright place to grab a slice in Troy. Its proximity to RPI makes it a fun hung out place for the students there, so expect to see them. For I Love's, this is the best one around, definitely the best in Troy, no competition. The pizza is delicious and always fresh, even the specialty pizzas.
