I am happy to see that the tables and chairs are back in place so that we can actually sit here for a drink where now this is a plus for itea because most of the new boba places around don't have indoor seatings. Air conditioning was ON! 90F outside so we appreciate the air conditioning indoor seats even more. The brown rice drink does take awhile because it's freshly made. I had sent hubby here to get boba, after he had picked up our lunch from the restaurant that's in the same plaza. He ordered the signature boba milk tea (50% sugar & 50% ice) and wintermelon milk tea (comes with grass jelly, 30% sugar & 50% ice). I had originally wanted the wintermelon milk tea with zero sugar but the cashier was confused on what was asked so hubby asked them for 30% sugar instead. Drinks are very good but the snacks here are by far the best ive been to. Popcorn chicken xtra crispy and xtra spicy is our go to. Nice crunch but still tender on the inside. For those of you who dont take spicy well, xtra spicy is not that spicy at all. I really think they just put more of their chicken seasoning on there. 5/5 Most of the drinks I would say are either 3/5 or 4/5. This i-Tea is hidden away in a small plaza. There is some shared parking in the lot here. This location is not as busy as their other ones I had been to in the Bay Area. Staff is not as attentive and the drinks took awhile, even when it was not busy. I ordered their jasmine milk tea with boba and mango sago with boba. I had these drinks at their other locations, which were tasty, but at this location, it tasted off. The mango sago was sour and tart, unlike the usual sweet taste. I found myself in Pleasanton on a hot day, so I decided stopping by an i-Tea, something I had not had in a long time, would be a good way to cool myself. The drink normally has taro bits; this drink had none at all. I was so excited to try this place but was pretty disappointed. Not at the boba- that was hreat and the only reason it deserves a star. It was the service. I perfectly understand they were busy but we waited about an hour. We ordered Panda boba but they didnt tell us they were out of regular milk, almond milk, or tapioca balls. Thos was after 30 minutes after our order when we went to check on the order. On top of that, when we decided to wait outside they kept putting down our orders to accomidate changes to other people's boba. We typically frequent the I-tea location in Dublin, however, on a recent evening we were in downtown Pleasanton and decided to try out the recently reopened I-tea under new ownership. Not much has changed since the last I remembered. We were pleasantly surprised that this location offers nightly happy hour specials on many of their drinks. They don't clearly indicate anywhere what drinks are discounted. You need to ask. And even the staff isn't very clear until you actually place your order and the system will automatically discount the drink. I'm guessing based on our order, the typical discount is about 50 cents. The taste is pretty standard, however, the boba is still sweeter than we prefer and is reminiscent of how it tasted under the previous ownership. This location offers a whole host of food options including ramen. So this is definitely a good option if you are looking to have a meal and a tasty drink with it. Overall, we will still go back to our favorite I-tea location in Dublin given the better tasting boba and friendly service there. read more

I've been a regular customer for years, and it's safe to say that this bubble tea shop has gotten worse and worse. Drinks are okay... food isn't bad (I definitely recommend the popcorn chicken). However, my experience with the employees that work here have been on a HUGE decline. One cashier by the name of "Jada" and the other curly haired boy (who I believe is no longer with them) are the only two employees who I've had a genuine good experience with. They are very polite and actually have a genuine conversational tone. The other employees I've experienced are quite rude, and get annoyed for so apparent reason. Located next to Amador Valley High School and local restaurants, I-Tea is located in a prime location. The place is in the heart of the mini plaza and is next to Mathnasium. With a clean, large space and plenty of tables for groups (and a restroom equipped), this boba place is the perfect spot for a hang out or a chill study date. The menu is located to the very right next to the cashier. One of things I liked about this particular I-Tea was that they have unique offerings such as having the Golden Oolong or Iron Buddha as brewed tea, or topped with sea salt cream. I am a huge fan of these tea flavors, so I was very happy about this "new addition." They have a variety of options for newcomers, such as the classic 3G Milk Tea (regular milk tea with grass jelly, pudding, and boba) or fresh fruit teas like the White Peach Oolong. There is also smoothies (Black Tea & Oreo Creamy, Matcha & Red Bean, etc) and specials (Mango Sago and Taro Sago). In general, I-Tea's diverse menu is one of their key assets as a boba place. You'll definitely find an option you'll like on their menu! My family and I have came here only two times. Both of our visits became relatively busy after we walked in, but their tea quality was still up to par. However, the first time we came, we have ran into minor issues with the snacks. We waited a long time (20 minutes) the first visit. Honestly, this is probably because there were only two workers and couldn't keep up with the amount of orders (reasonable). But, the real issue was with the amount of servings of the snacks. We ordered popcorn chicken and Taiwanese tempura. We ended up paying $5-6 for 7 pieces of them?! We were really saddened by the amount we were given, but we decided not to worry about it and give the place another try! Here we are back and ready to give them another chance and they didn't disappoint (: My sister ordered the Roasted Oolong topped with cream and I got the Golden Oolong topped with cream as well. The main difference between these two was that the roasted Oolong had a stronger tea flavor and was very crisp. The Golden Oolong was on the delicate and sweeter side, while still maintaining that subtle strong tea flavor as well. Overall, both were very heavenly on its own and paired with the smoothness of the cream. The sea salt cream has a HINT of a salty taste to balance the sweetness. It has a texture of milk foam, where the milk appears as a denser (but lighter in taste) whip cream. For snacks, we got the popcorn chicken and curly fries. The amount of fries we were given was generous and enough to fill four people's stomachs. The popcorn chicken doesn't have the prominent garlic and basil leaf flavor like most I-Teas. I don't know if it was just this time they forgot to add it, but it was missing the classic I-Tea Popcorn Chicken flavor. Because of that, I had to knock down a star. Overall, I recommend going here if it is your first time trying boba or even just for a late night hangout. read more

Was craving boba a few nights ago so we stopped here. Parking was easy, it is in a small shopping center with a parking lot. We had never been to iTea so we had some questions about what their popular drinks were or what certain items tasted like but the employees said "I'm not really sure" or "I don't know" to almost every question. The drinks do not have any sort of description on the menu so we were basically shooting in the dark at this point. Also, they were out of all of the sea salt kreme items which is what we both wanted so we wound up with other items. My friend got a honey brown rice drink with agar boba in it, she didn't like it much. I chose the crème brûlée milk tea. I thought it was going to have a crème brûlée flavor or topping but I was very wrong. Also, I paid extra for almond milk (which there was barely any of in my cup). Since I chose a milk alternative, I think most employees would have realized that this was a good time to warn me that the drink was going to be mostly full of actual custard/crème brûlée. This warning did not happen. I couldn't believe it when I received a drink that was less than half a cup of tea and more than half custard. They made an attempt to blow torch the top like crème brûlée... After drinking the tea portion I couldn't even access the already small amount of boba in the drink because the custard (which I was avoiding) was in the way. I threw the drink away and am so confused about what I paid $7 for. By the way, when ordering, you can also you can choose the level of ice and sweetness, the default is 100%. Thankfully, I chose 50% on each because I barely had any tea to begin with (ice would have made it even less) and my drink was extremely sweet even at 50%, I can't imagine what the default tastes like. A dangerous red flag is when you walk into a tea/boba shop on a hot day that doesn't have adequate A/C and has a fan blowing three feet away from the point of sale. With the double doors wide open, it obviously tells me that someone is trying to cut corners. One look at the "staff" and my cost-cutting suspicions were confirmed: peach fuzz on the young boy (or son) and the clueless young girl (or daughter) at the counter on the job training, clearly not having a workable knowledge of the menu. While we stood in line, suffocating in the 87 degree shop, we nearly bailed before sticking it out. I ordered the roast-oolong milk tea with "boba" and rainbow jelly. It was good, but nothing overly impressive and in fact, the "boba" was small and tasteless. There were way too many and eventually, I spit them out then later shamefully realized that I had technically littered non-biodegradable plastic all over the place! My daughter ordered the House special with Litchi jelly and boba but they forgot the Jelly. Instead of making a new drink, the lady (mom), removed the sealed top, added the jelly, then put a slurped-domed top on. Hmmm.... never seen any boba place not replace the drink... I won't give anything beyond two stars when it's almost assured I won't ever return. However..... I absolutely respect the family based business because I grew up in one. They appear honest and hard working, however, knowing that I will be returning to the area in three weeks, hope that management considers making a few changes: 1. Fix the a/c. It's just too sweltering and uncomfortable - you don't want patrons wanting to leave before they order. 2. Downsize the menu - there's too many items and/or too confusing. 3. Improve the tea balls - I'm not even a boba connoisseur, but I knew right away the low quality - don't skimp on the main chewable. 4. Visit your competitors, like Teaspoon or Sharetea on a recon mission. I'll bet you'll learn a lot about what you're up against. The shop is clean and spacious and it's got potential. After a hot day of walking around Alameda Fairgrounds playing with a host of fun pets, we were quite parched and needed something to cool us down from the 94 degree sun that was burning us up all day. Craving something sweet and rewarding, the gf suggested we do boba, which I heartily agreed. A quick Yelp search and she noticed there was an iTea nearby. So we of course had to come. This iTea location has its own parking lot for free parking, and is larger than most other iTea's that I've been to. And while my gf disagreed, I felt like this iTea had more boba flavors to choose from than others that I've been to. I wound up going for the Guava Fruit Tea with boba, while I believe the gf got the Peach Fruit Tea with aloe vera and boba. While I liked their fruit tea drink, they used the smaller boba balls instead of the traditional sized ones. While this would typically not be a huge deal, their boba here was also harder and not very chewy. I've always loved the boba at iTea locations, and am just bummed that this location did not have good boba balls. For all the hype that I heard about this place, part of me couldn't put it into my 5-star hall of fame. I like how they have a system for how much ice and sugar you want. You'd be a fool to not choose less ice in your drink. Most boba places tend to have a bad ratio of ice to drink where it is more ice rather than the drink itself. I was also amazed that this taro milk tea was more natural meaning that it was made with real taro. The proof was me drinking the fresh taro bits. Other boba places that I have been to have made taro milk tea, but it was only a powdered drink. The drinks are made with utmost quality and fresh ingredients. Overall, the 4-star rating is coming from the ambiance and the drinks. If the ambiance was a bit quieter like other boba places then maybe the rating would be fixed.
