    ICE! Elf

Every year we kick off the holiday season at the Gaylord Texan and ICE! This year was a real crowd pleaser featuring Elf It's only 9 degrees inside and you'll want to dress warm because the big coat they give you only helps a little. Staff is helpful and friendly. Plenty of fun shopping in the Christmas village like ornaments, shirts, decorations, treats, hot chocolate, and more.

You're better off just to go to Costco, stand in the milk room while you swipe through my photos. We went here tonight to see the Ice Exhibit. After waiting in line for an hour, we spent about 30 minutes in the actual exhibit. The actual exhibit was cool but I wouldn't pay to go return. It was the hoards of people that made the experience unforgettable and not in a good way. We couldn't really enjoy the exhibit because of the amount of people they packed in there. Most of them were little kids not being watched by their parents. One kid went missing for a bit and there were teens doing TikTok dances all over the place and making people stop so they could do it. It was just miserable. The staff really should've not packed so many people inside. It was very claustrophobic. The actual hotel itself is worth seeing at Christmas...at least once.

I love Ice @ the Gaylord! It's such a fun family friendly experience. Cons are it's expensive and there are a ton of ways to spend more money here. Pros are that is pleasant and gets you in the holiday spirit. I'm excited to hear what this year's theme will be. The master craftsman that make these sculptures are so impressive. Make sure to take a few minutes and actually watch the ice carving. Bundle up (gloves really help) but remember they provide the jackets.

What talent! Definitely not what I expected. Make sure to being gloves and hats as its basically walking into a walk in freezer. The trail was nice and extensive. It included a bar for adults. The ice slides were nice but the adult on the top of the slides were disgusting and rude. Ruined the magic for one for someone in our party. Powertrippin miserable ppl. Otherwise the nativity display was out of this world. They have a carousel, a bunch of snack stands, build a bear and a gift shop. Very cute for the family and kids. The customer service kicked off the extra 2 stars this review couldve had.

The ice sculptures were nice! I enjoyed the adult beverages in the ice bar. However the drinks were pricey , between $12-$18 each. There were about 2 actual activities for the kids , so looking at the sculptures was meant to hold the attention span of the children. I have a 8 year old and 4 year old and they both were ready to go. It's very nice but I think it cost too much and I wouldn't take my kids again.

If you have not yet experienced Gaylord on ICE!, I strongly encourage you to do so. We did it with our work family in 2015 and 10 years later we went back there as a family. Hundreds of handcarved figures in ice. It's 9 degrees Fahrenheit inside but the experience is memorable. #gaylordice #leslieverghese

My family and I love ICE. We've been several years. This year's theme is Rudolph the Red-nosed Reindeer. My family stayed at the hotel and purchased the Lone Star Package which included a scavenger hunt, snow tubing, ICE and a gingerbread house. They also have ice skating, cookies with Mrs. Clause, Build -A- Bear, and a carousel at an additional cost. ICE provides parkas for everyone to wear and there are free ice slides inside. My children absolutely love this experience and the hotel is decorated like a wonderland. Great experience, great memories. Dress warm and have a great ti

Make sure to bring gloves and ear covering for warmth. I was pleasantly surprised with the event. There are a lot of intricate and cool designs. There were a lot more ice sculptures than I expected. However, I was not appropriately dress, and I got really cold going through the exhibit. They do give a parka but it is not enough if you will be stopping for pictures frequently. Still, The event is a little pricey, check to see if there are any deals.

Overdue review but here it goes. This experience is just ok. Let me preface with the fact that's we've never been and it came highly recommended. Came here with another adult, no kids, and it was a nice time for a one time experience. I wouldn't come back again though. I'm sure if you have kids and love the grinch it would be more worth it, but for two adults who can quickly move through the sculptures it's not all that. I do however, appreciate the hard work that goes into sculpting ice into a whole immersive world. We can during the week and it was busy but we still managed to walk through in about 30 minutes. It's chilly, I think 9 degrees, so being a hat and gloves if you aren't used to the cold. You are also given a jacket but I doubt they are washed or disinfected in between uses. I am not sure if you can forgo the jacket even if you bring your own. I didn't ask. There are some picture experiences and places do pose and outside the exhibit are food options and themed shopping.

Just not worth the money. 40$ parking and 30$ tickets to be cramped in a freezer with a sculpture my kid could do is not a fun time.
