Isaac was real nice technician who came out and explained things to me. They were the quickest to respond and come out which I do appreciate. But let's keep things real, I did not go forward with their recommendation to replace my capacitor because like other reviews stated they charge almost double $600 vs other service providers quoting $300 (I actually paid $250 with another provider back in 2021 who replaced my capacitor in 5 mins!). Why I'm giving a 2-star review is three things 1) the "discount" down to $440 on the capacitor replacement service if you become a member join their annual service plan 2) Isaac losing my screws (I want to emphasize he was a real nice gentlemen and took time to explain things to me, I looked up his recommendation on buying a new unit and it's better to get the installation and attic work done right then going cheap with Costco who's limited to Lennox brand, etc.), I would give him 4 if it wasn't for the screws and can't give 5 stars because this company charges way too much for a capacitor replacement. 3) A follow up text review link that takes me to an unclaimed ICE Air Conditioning & Plumbing Yelp business, so if I wrote this review to that unclaimed link, it wouldn't show up here Although Isaac was nice he lost 1-2 screws when he took off the piece that covers where the capacitor and AC contactor are. He put the screws on top the AC unit near the fans opening then I saw him put his arm to rest/lean on it and the screws fell off and onto the ground (or into the fan opening because now I'm missing screws). We tried to find it but couldn't. Well I got charged the $69 visit fee anyways but I heard Isaac say on the phone it was $0 and said "Can you update the invoice so it's $69?" After doing some research in this age of ChatGPT and Google/YouTube, I learned that it's common for AC units to malfunction when you have storms or a string of really hot days. The capacitor costs $15 on Amazon, voltage meter $15-20, and is easy to replace if you follow the safety instructions (power shut off) and get the correct MFD rating. Since they were recommending the annual maintenance, I looked this up if you really do need it. Yes for peace of mind but not really, as most of the maintenance you can do yourself (like hosing down unit to clear debris, etc.). Whether you get an annual maintenance or not, it will NOT be able to prevent something like a storm surge happening and taking your AC unit down. And the annual maintenance they quoted me for 2 units is $300+ or something and where I "get a discount for the 2nd unit added to the plan". Again, look this up, you don't really need annual maintenance, but if you can afford it, go ahead and pay for that peace of mind. In this inflationary era, electricians deserve to get paid for their expertise. So I'm not trying to recommend what to do here, I suggest looking things up and educating yourself as a consumer. So if you aren't comfortable doing it yourself (DIY) then hiring the electrician to do it will give you peace of mind + avoid any mistakes you might make by trying it yourself if you think you aren't savvy enough to replace the capacitor + they'll warranty the parts as well. read more

You think Casinos are the only ones screwing people? Air Conditioner companies, plumbers, electricians and many more. Had many A/C companies come out to give estimates to replace A/C on a 3 ton A/C for a 1,200 sqft home. The estimates are anywhere from $15,000 to $16,000. The one I have since 2009 was $4,500 complete cost. NO A/C UNIT AND WORK TO INSTALL IT IS WORTH 15 TO 16 THOUSAND. NONE! I feel for the many thousands of people in Las Vegas that are being screwed daily in Las Vegas because they don't know how to find out true cost. I live in Las Vegas for 22 years, this is an ongoing problem and there is no protection for the consumer AT ALL. BBB is almost worthless. Ice Heating & Cooling people have no customer service skills AT ALL. Every time they come out it is always we need to repair something. $200 here, $300 there. One time it to replace thermostat and the worker said $650.00. NO THERMOSTAT COST THAT MUCH EVER! These people missed in their ongoing evaluation of my A/C each time they came out on my unit the cutting of many sensors and an ongoing leak in Freon. They gave estimate of $16,000 to replace my 3 ton 1,200 sqft house. LITTERALY IMPOSSIBLE EVEN WITH MARKUPS AND SUMMERTIME COST. They told me that figure without stating what type of A/C and its cost or how much to installing unit. FROM INTERNET VIEW: In Las Vegas, the average lifespan of an air conditioner is 10-15 years, depending on maintenance and usage. A complete replacement typically costs between $3,000 and $10,000, but can be higher for commercial installations or large projects. Jason 'did not' go through my options. Just told me a figure. You apologize? LOL. Jason did not break down cost, just told me a figure. NOTHING ELSE. And I approved repairs of constant issue? I realized with the figure on replacement that all that work done was more than likely not needed when I look back at the $650.00 thermostat and the rude worker. Considering that other A/C people told me that the Freon leak was long term problem. And the many sensors that were cut were old. Pretty much got charged 340 dollars to change out my shower head after I was told the cartridge of the shower needed to be replaced in order for the pressure of the shower to be fixed. The gentlemen that came was nice but overall I'm extremely pissed and feel like I was lied to by the first person who came to look at it. I would steer clear from this company. WOW. Literally the quickest AC team on the planet (based on our experience). Called and spoke with Alisha who had Jimmy out the next day at our house. Jimmy was knowledgable and honest, we respected that he did not attempt to upsell and recommended units based on our needs. Quote was competitive. AC unit worked fine until my yearly inspection now it's 90° inside and they want $13,000 for breaking for my property. Probably why they're the top seller of Lennox AC units they going around Vegas in the middle of summer breaking people's stuff to try and sell them something at 300% markup. Had to file a complaint with the state contractor's board and when everyone showed up to my property for the inspection the ICE employee declined the business card of the board representative because "he still had it from last time" one complaint with the board should be enough to learn to do your job right but multiple time to get shut down and lose your license. Multiple pieces of my AC unit were found on the ground by the unit not attached back properly and the reports from my smart thermostat show the unit was functioning properly before their visit. read more

I put a Yelp request in to a few plumbers, and ICE responded within minutes with a fair quote to snake the drain that afternoon. It turns out that our drainage problem was way worse than we thought. Due to years of grease buildup and 30' palm tree roots making their way into our pipes, our situation was bad. Troy and his team approached the issue in phases in order to break through the massive clogs. They had so many tools at their disposal to try. From various size snakes, chemicals to break down the buildup and roots, chain knockers, cameras, hydro-jetting, etc. You name it, they have it! There is no way I can leave zero stars so it is what it is. My quote was $22,500 for a new install. A bargain basement price. Oops, it should be closer to $7,000. This is for a small house. I never recommend any business that doubles or triples the price in their quote "replacement price." Don't use them, don't call them & don't let them give you a 2 hour presentation about their price point. I'm looking for an attorney so I can implement change in our laws to prohibit these types of predatory sales practices. These people are like used car salesmen. They think we are at their mercy. Did a diagnostic and verified that the unit was still running strong, although it still uses freon, which is no longer commercially available. We were able to get service the same day! We ended up getting Jason as our technician and he was great! He was extremely knowledgeable and professional. He explained the issue(s) affecting my unit. Our AC went out and I requested service in the middle of the night and Ice Air Conditioning & Plumbing came out mid-morning the next day. They told us all our Freon had all leaked out into the walls and talked liked it would be impossible to find the leak or run a new line. So they talked us into buying a new system even though we still think they could have fixed it. The new system was 24,575 and they set us up with a loan through a company called GoodLeap. Ice Air Conditioning & Plumbing never actually finished the installation. There are gaps all around the air intake going up into the attic and we've spoke to them 4 separate times to come out a seal it so hot air isn't coming back into the house from the attic. An Ice Air Conditioning & Plumbing even took pictures of it and said he'd be sending someone out to seal it. We had a date and time scheduled for them to come out for our free service and inspection but they never showed up and never called. As for the 24,575 debt that Ice Air Conditioning & Plumbing set us up through GoodLeap well, we've been paying on that debt for three months now and it was on the fourth month we finally got a statement from them in the mail. Keep in mind we've been paying more than the minimum of 306.38 each month. Our statement received from GoodLeap on the fourth month shows that the payoff amount is still the same as the original amount 24,575. We called GoodLeap and found out that they're also charging us $8.18 everyday for the life of the loan. So our total amount owed is now 24,865 even though we've been paying more they the minimum each month. Wow!! what a shady way to do business. We're now scrambling to get a loan with our Bank and be rid or GoodLeap, By the way there office is in the Philippine's so we can't even go talk to them in person. So, Thank you Ice Air Conditioning & Plumbing, who first screwed into buying a new AC/Heating unit instead of just fixing the old unit that had a leak in the refrigerant line. Then Ice Air Conditioning & Plumbing set us up with a very fucked up loan with a seriously shady company. Ice Air Conditioning & Plumbing doesn't live up to there word. They talk a big talk but don't deliver. Our Unit was installed in July of 2023 and here it is, the end of November 2023 and I still haven't got them to come out and finish sealing up the air intake going into the attic. We're still dealing with the loan and trying to get our bank to take over the loan so we can actually start paying the loan down and not just giving our money away only to watch the amount go up. I have no idea how Ice Air Conditioning & Plumbing has a good rating on yelp. Maybe there un-aware that the finance company "GoodLeap" there referencing there customers to is so shady and screwing there customers. Fireplace repair: There aren't too many businesses that repair gas fireplaces in the valley, but I'm glad that ICE does! On Monday I submitted a yelp quote, set up an appointment for Tuesday AM. Here are the highlights: 1. Front office staff is polite, knowledgable, and communicative. I received a text letting me know my tech would arrive in 30-45 minutes and he did. 2. Ricky was very thorough in his inspection, sharing his knowledge of how my fireplace works and what common issues are. 3. Extensive troubleshooting - he didn't rush to suggest that I needed a whole new unit and when the problem seemed to be a pretty expensive repair, he went out of his way to make sure that there was not a cheaper option. 4. There was a cheaper option! He let me know I just needed to replace my wall switch. I only had to pay for the service call ($69) and swap out a switch, which anyone with 5 minutes and a screwdriver can do. Honestly, learning how my fireplace works was worth the service call. I received a text from this company offering a $39 HVAC tuneup For full system and I scheduled them. come to find out they came by and didn't do a tuneup it was more of a inspection once the inspection was over. The technician went over problems that he found or seen with our HVAC system he did mention to buy a part that was going to go out and we declined. Come the next day my AC unit upstairs stops working, I called back this company to have their technician come out again to fix the problem and they were going to charge me for them to come back on top of what they supposedly called tuneup. Vetted them all and went with ICE because of the reviews here, Google and with the BBB. Requested service through their website after hours yesterday and they called me back to schedule first thing this morning. They had a $39 special for this seasonal evaluation. Stephon came out at the appointed time this afternoon and spent about 45 minutes evaluating our A/C condenser and our attic-based air handler. Then he sat down with us to go over all his findings and, yes, make suggestions. No hard sell though. We had our front yard landscape done and had run into some issue with the irrigation system. Daniel was the plumber who connected the water to the irrigation system. The day after, the landscapers told me that the other part of the pipe should have been connected instead of what was connected to the irrigation. I called up Daniel to see what the landscaper was talking about and he came back to our property within less than an hour. Our house was built in the 70s, older pipes. Both toilets in both bathrooms were over flowing and backed up, we also had blockage in both showers. After applying liquid plumber, using a toilet auger, and running a 50ft snake down the main line, I decided to call for a 2nd opinion on my problem. Alex and the other tech were great today. They showed up on time, ran the camera snake and showed me what we had going on with our clog from the house to the main line out. He then provided me a couple options on how we could proceed. We chose to hydro jet our line. After a few passes our plumbing worked great again. We went back in with the camera to see the difference. Both techs were professional, patient and thorough with the process. I would Definitely recommend this company.
