I haven't been ice skating in years! This was a great first time in a while. I'm used to rollerblading in regular skating rinks but this was pretty close to it! $10 for a person + $5 for skate rentals and you get to skate for as long as you'd like. Not as cold as i thought it'd be so really enjoyable! Would go again on a weekday so it wouldn't be as crowded :)

I adore winter sports, despite being born and raised in the sweltering heat of Houston. I enjoy going to Memorial City Mall, plus it coincidently has an ice skating rink easily accessible, which I've currently picked up an interest in. Coming to the ice rink during Autumn and being able to breathe in the cool atmosphere emitting from the ice is a joyous butterfly-like tangibility that Southerners in the South don't often receive unless we're in deep winter. Ice skating, initially, takes time to adapt to, but within a few minutes, you'll innately initiate your groove in ice skating and begin to zip by other fellow ice skaters, as well as hilariously ungracefully fall or collide. The most enjoyable part about ice skating for me is the liberation and adrenaline I experience once I've triumphantly executed a technique that requires a certain amount of finesse, whether that be, being able to successfully turn at a certain velocity, shifting, halting or competing with others. The only dilemma for me is borrowing the company's skates. The interior padding within the rental skates is notably annoying, so near an hour into ice skating, my ankles and toes are indeed chafed because of the hard padding. You know it ain't a good feeling when you've gotta disinfect and treat multiple sites of ripped skin. Otherwise, ice skating is an enchanting exercise that is challenging while at the same time gratifying as both you and I continue to excel, so long as we keep at it.

What we initially thought were just scrapes was actually a nasty wound. If it gets worse I'm going to be one angry mom!

Spacious. Doesn't make you feel crammed in like sardines, unlike the galleria ice rink.

The food and service was top rate. When my church ask me to assist with an end of the season Vacation Bible School skate party I reached out to 180 Roller Rink and was not disappointed. The owner help me put the party together. I sent her a flyer which had my date, time and the type of party I wanted and her exact words was " I got you" and "got" she dId. The VBS attendees had so much fun I actually think the adults had more fun then the kids. We skated, played game, and did karaok, the vibe was so high I felt like a super Star . My Pastor stopped by and the owner and the workers made me look like a double super star because of the way they treated us - we all felt so special I was recognized in church the next day because everyone had such a great time. I would recommend 180 Rodeo Rink all day, everyday. It's a great place to host a party or just go to one of the functions being held or just stop by and get a plate of food to gomight I add the food is Delicious with a capital "D". 180 Rodeo Rink please keep doing what you are doing- You are killing out here Thank you for all you do for the community!!!

The owner was super nice and the DJ was bumping and all of the staff was super friendly. I agree that with other reviews that the rink is smaller, especially if a lot of people are skating, but it is good for beginners or people like myself who haven't been on a rink since high school. They have a variety of theme nights and Sundays are for families so I look forward to coming back again!

It gave the kids a lot more confidence in their skating abilities (despite still falling a lot, everything they let go and tried on their own.) Despite falling a lot, they kept trying because there were so many other kids there trying and falling too. They had a beginner skating rink at the end. There were a lot of big kids back there working on tricks or just goofing off, but the younger kids still had plenty of space to practice in the smaller rink instead of being in the main rink. They did glow lights for a little bit, maybe 30 mins, and the kids liked that a lot. We were there for maybe 2 hours, with a mini pizza break. There were not many workers there, so adults or skaters had to police their own chaos on the rinks. The workers alternated between the skate rental booth, the concessions, and the walker rental/prizes area. As the afternoon wore on and it became more crowded, it did get a lot more chaotic and somewhat dangerous for the younger skaters, which is why I have the lower rating. For what it was, it is still worth the visit id you have never been. If you have younger kids, I would suggest coming in earlier. As the afternoon wore on I to the evening, it was a lot more crowded overall and a lot busier with teens and adults. The concessions were fine. Having a birthday party here was also just ok - there was no dedicated party host despite the host asking for one for their party and the kids kind of scattered everywhere. It did give everyone a chance w to hang out and play together or apart. Whichever they wished. There was an all call to come back to the tables for food and cake, so that was nice. It was a good way to get a bunch of kids to try something new, though, so that was a lot of fun. I felt bad, as a parent, needing to rent a walker for my kids and then it going to the tab of the parents. There was not a way to pay for it on my end, unless the worker was misinformed. We would be back to try it some more.

I really like that they have a small area for the more novice skaters to practice. Good music options and pauses for games periodically. There is a snack bar available too. Plenty of tables for seating and they accommodate birthday parties. The kids always have a great time!
